someone is killed in a giant microwave - YEAH season 12 episode 1 murdoch mystery mansion. the potato cooking room was at first a hypothetical presented in an earlier season that murdoch made a reality during the designing of his house ! someone then used the room to kill someone inside uh oh

sigmund freud's gaydar - YEAH season 15 episode 12 murdoch on the couch. sigmund freud, who's at the station house because of a threat to his life, reads henry's letter addressed to george and believes it to be a letter for a lover. when henry brings this up to brax and watts later, they don't contest this ! (in fact claiming this was the only thing he was right about) was going to make a joke about how he was like i know what you are but he actually seemed like genuine and objective with it honestly what the hell was up with that.

re-enactment of the last supper with dead bodies - YEAH season 9 episode 4 barenaked ladies. to make a poetic point about guilt and betrayal, someone kills some people who they think have wronged someone and electroplates them in the poses of various figures from the last supper.

one of the main characters kills jack the ripper - YEAH season 2 episode 2 snakes and ladders. a serial killer on the loose suspected to be jack the ripper is in toronto, and in a fight with him in the morgue, julia kills him. she is understandably shaken by this and the end of the episode she dances with murdoch because she’d like to be held <3

sherlock holmes meets arthur conan doyle. yeah they meet each other - YEAH season 6 episode 4 a study in sherlock. due to childhood trauma, there's a guy in toronto living as sherlock holmes :)) murdoch is frustrated that he won't believe that sherlock holmes isn't real, so to convince him, he invites arthur conan doyle, who happens to be visiting toronto, over.

reincarnation is real - YEAH season 6 episode 11 lovers in a murderous time. cant believe yall forgot this one this was one of my fav episodes the first time i watched s06 but anyways. two people bear a striking resemblance to two doomed lovers from many years ago, and the woman has visions and dreams of memories of details she can't possibly know ! they're reincarnated lovers. whoah

pig flies - YEAH season 6 episode 1 murdoch air. james pendrick, flying his test craft in the race for the world's first controlled air craft, tested a harness by using a dead pig as a passenger. was reminded of this one because in a s15 episode the brackenreids were laughing abt something and margaret said "when pigs fly!" and brax was like "i've seen that happen actually" <3

murdoch invents uber - NAH. murdoch does not invent uber. the closest we get to uber is not murdoch's invention but george and henry with henry's cab :) this lie kind of falls apart when you consider that murdoch's inventions are almost always technological innovations, while uber is. a business. and murdoch doesn't even like cars.

murdoch dies in a tub but only temporarily - YEAH season 5 episode 10 staircase to heaven. murdoch investigates a death within a club (one member being emily) who compete for a chance to "die" to see what the afterlife looks like, dropping them as close to death as possible and then reviving them, and murdoch tries it out yeah 👍

murdoch beats up santa claus - YEAH season 17 episode 9 the christmas list. in possibly his most out of character episode, murdoch suspects department store santa claus of theft and tries to arrest him in front of the children, then when santa resists, murdoch beats the shit out of him

🥦Favorite Veggie: Hm... I think...maybe, Parsnip, carrot and broccoli? I like tomatoes aswell but they are technically not a vegetable but a fruit ;)

🌻Favorite flower: I'm a little old fashioned so I love deep red roses but I also like more or less any purple flowers like pansies (named "Stephmother flower/stemorsblomst" in Norwegian), purple petunias and even purple roses! BUT as I worked at a garden center/huge florist shop center last year.. I also got to know (and fall in love with) this funky MESS of a plant:

It is so messy, so chatoic and the actual stems were so soft to the touch and had a special texture that I really liked to caress! I had to buy one of these chaotic babies from the shop I worked at but my dad accidentally killed while trying to give it some fluid plant nutrition...(without my permission...) It couldn't handle this liquid and so it died :( I actually miss it! I do want to have it again! <3

📺 Favorite TV Shows: (The ones I remember and in no particular order because I am unmedicated and a mess today so here we go)

"BABYLON BERLIN" my beloved <3 (But I have to admit that the latest season was kind of a mess and not that entertaining..)

"The Man In The High Castle" (except for the last season...we do NOT talk about the last season! - . -)

"What We Do In The Shadows" (although again...the latest season that I saw..season 4 I think? Wasn't as good as the rest, but I need to watch season 5!!)

"VIKINGS" (duh-uh...how could you tell? :P At least right up until season 4 and then I always forgot to watch the rest...It was so good and then it tried to be wannabe Game of Thrones and that's when I lost interest.. :/ I guess I'm gonna try to watch it again sometime..I just hope the rest of the season isn't going to be like Game of Thrones as what I liked about Vikings was that it was good WITHOUT any nudity and sex scenes..at least from what I know right up until season 4. )

"FRIENDS" (even though I only watch the re-runs on TV, it was the first series that I ever loved that wasn't a cartoon!)

"Murdoch Mysteries" (but they never air it in Norway anymore and I don't want to have subscriptions on more platforms just for ONE TV-show. Damn. I miss it though!)

Currently I am watching "From" at Netflix and it's really good so far! I have high hopes! :)

"100 Code" but they stopped after one season and then one of the main actors died...R.I.P Michael Nyqvist :( It was SO GOOD and I HATE how the last episode was THE BIGGEST CLIFFHANGER and then we never get to know how it would end.. :/

"Hazbin Hotel" (I guess..even though the actual series wasn't as good as the Pilot)

"Vampire High" even though it was cheesy and even though it was killed off after one season and again it left the audience with a cliffhanger...

And now that I watched my scheduled show, now is time to continue the Murdoch Mysteries re-watch. Probably while I write unrelated fanfiction.

We're at season 5 episode 11, Murdoch in Toyland, which I'm pretty sure is a James Gillies episode (I checked the wiki and I am right)

I do feel like I have to say that every episode is a threat of James Gillies now, and while there is definitely some other nemesis I dislike more, Gillies is probably pretty high on the list of Big Bads I Don't Enjoy. I don't know, I thought "I think that's a Gillies episode" and let out a little groan of displeasure.

I'll say it, I think James Gillies is just an unpleasant cunt who thinks he's better than every one. If it wasn't for the unhinged murders, he could be mistaken for my brother.

4.Did you discover any new authors that you love this year?

I'd say new to me as they are mid-century classics but Iris Murdoch and Barbara Pym. As for contemporary writers, I add Elif Shafak.

12. Any books that disappointed you?

As I had told you, Daisy Jones & The Six is one of them for me. I had heard so much about it and then found it somewhat blah most of the time and that ending wasn't exactly to my liking.

Maybe Taylor Jenkins Reid's books simply aren't for me? I also read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo last year and was underwhelmed.

Then there's 'So Much Life Left Over' by Louis de Bernieres. A kind of family saga taking place in the time between the two world wars? Yes, please. Even before finishing reading it? No, please and I don't care about the other volumes. Which segues nicely to the next question...

13.What were your least favorite books of the year?

Definitely 'So Much Life Left Over' by Louis de Bernieres. "all women just want babies", is a very strong thesis in this one. I even wrote a long rant in the wee small hours of the morning but can't seem to be able to find it now.

I may not have liked all the books I read this year (even if they weren't many) this this one made me actually angry.

14.What books do you want to finish before the year is over?

I would love to finish The Mysteries of Udolpho by Ann Radcliffe, that I started reading after my Northanger Abbey re-read but I doubt I'll know what's behind that damn veil before the year is out.

17.Did any books surprise you with how good they were?

Of the top of my head, I'd say Swan Song and The Three Daughters of Eve, both mentioned upwards.

It didn't exactly surprised me by its quality (gah, this sounds so cruel said like this) but I would totally watch a TV series adaptation of The Other's Gold by Elizabeth Ames.

22. What’s the longest book you read?

I think it probably is The Mysteries of Udolpho, which I am still reading.

Poor beckett, castle drank her coffee then said he'd make her one then he doesn't & she burns herself on it. I like the idea of ryckett & casito but rn we have some rystle & especkett scenes. JE: Yo. I, uh, just saw Ryan downstairs. I can't believe you let him go chasing ghosts with Castle. KB: Yeah. Maybe Shaggy'll keep Scooby out of trouble. Besides, you never know, maybe they'll come up with something useful. JE: Oh, you want useful. *sarcastic surprise* 'Cause I just spoke to CSU. They found fingerprints at the scene from a real live person, so… *points & wiggles finger* Becks still has the coffee with her

Hold on, Murdoch Mysteries is still ongoing? I thought they were just airing reruns. I've never seen a full episode but my grandma watched it and the one episode I saw part of had HP Lovecraft in it. I wasn't sure if I should explain to my grandma who he was...

it is!! s15 ended earlier this year, and now s16 has been confirmed!! I actually picked it up two years ago because I kept coming across the re runs and I love a weekly mystery, and ended up binge watching it all to catch up with the current season

The hole that had been forcibly opened up by persons unknown was a treasure trove for Pendrick and Murdoch. Watts refused to come with them in exploring, instead focused on a new project for the local school. Re-certifying himself to be a builder, he had been taking on small projects to keep himself occupied and draw in a small amount of money. He didn’t need much, just enough for a meal at the Round Table here and there.

Here and there being every single day.

Brackenreid sent them with Torva, third generation Corp that watched them and the surroundings carefully as they tested and searched everything they could get their hands on. The two of them had found quite a few chips, circuits, other gadgetry that they were still working on figuring out. Even a full thing called a computer. Murdoch managed to secure it in his pack, thanking himself for only packing some bread and basic tools that could be hung from his belt. James had more things, including two first  aid kits that Llewellyn had ‘sneaked’ in when he was gathering a few spare ropes.

Torva quirked xir’s head at something. “We should leave,” they said.

“Why?” Murdoch asked, looking over a book. It was a mystery novel. There were a few more on the shelf and he wanted to bring them along as well. Maybe I’ll come back with a bag to safely secure them in. They are quite old. Protecting them should be thorough.

“I hear something in the distance of the system,” xe informed, “And it’s not natural.”

Pendrick glanced up from the cabinet he was working on. “Human?”

They shook their head. “Definitely not. It’s probably Old World Security, same as the bot in Nora’s Mine.” That wasn’t good. The history of the Sandrock tunnel was a chilling reminder about how some of the Old World wasn’t just old toys and statues. It could kill, and people were willing to kill for it. The two looked at each other and nodded in agreement. They would have to come back with weaponry and reinforcements if they wanted to continue.

Moving back to the hallway that connected to the hole from the Abandoned Ruins and the freestanding elevator that they constructed, the sounds got louder and louder. “I think we should run,” Murdoch muttered, already trying to shift himself into going faster.

“That might attract it,” Pendrick warned.

A few more steps and Torva was shining xir’s light at something. “I don’t think that really matters.”

Seven to eight foot tall, it was a bot that put the one that William saw in Atara to shame. Gleaming orange and green pained along its body, it was a mockery of the human body with thin arms and legs, but an oversized chest and tiny head. The head had a glimmer that made him think there was a system held within to allow it to see and hear. The rest must have been in the body. Getting into that would be a huge scientific redevelopment.

“State your purpose,” the bot said.

That was not something they expected. Most of the bots that had been encountered earlier were nothing more than attackers. None of those ones talked, either. Only Ack and Ally back in the town, but Ack was a cook and Ally was a special case. “Exploration?” Pendrick tried.

Ten seconds went by. “Exploration does not require the theft of computers.” It apparently figured out what was on William’s back.

“We can’t turn them on here,” Murdoch explained, “There’s no power source active here. There hasn’t been for close to three hundred to four hundred years. We have to take it back to our work to figure out a way to power it.”

The bot processed this as well. “I cannot allow that. There is sensitive material on the computer. Please hand it over.”

Pendrick and Murdoch glanced at each other. There was something on the computer that could be useful in figuring out more of the history surrounding the city and the Old World. They didn’t want to give it up. Torva walked forward. “Portia Civil Corp. These men are consultants for the current law enforcement agency,” xe said, bringing the bots attention. “We need to see what’s on here, for information on a long ago event.

That caught the bot. “Law enforcement.” It almost seemed to be working on allowing the three to leave, but it instead attacked Torva instead. Both of the builders were thrown aside.

“William, please tell me you bought-”

“No gun! Brought the staff!”

Struggling to get the pack off his back, he placed it along the wall before pulling out a steel rod. Twisting it, the thing elongated into a bo staff that was a few inches taller than himself. Pendrick had placed down his things and pulled out a sword.

“Perhaps it’s a good thing that we didn’t persuade Llewellyn to come out with us,” Pendrick quipped, aiming for the bot’s legs. Murdoch used the sharper edge of his staff to try and get into the cranium on top, figuring on wrecking the camera to make it blind.

Torva went for the chest, a set of chromium and steel daggers working on cutting through the ventilation covers that he saw along the side. Something cracked when Murdoch hit the dome, but he didn’t get another chance to break it. The bot wrapped around both of them. He and James were thrown in opposite directions deeper into the ruin. The bot then extended its arms up and latched onto wood and steel before forcibly bringing everything down.

The dust and dirt flying into their faces made it hard to breathe for a few minutes. The two coughed for minutes until the air didn’t bother their lungs. “Murdoch!” Pendrick yelled.

“I’m alive,” he called back, “Nothing broke.”

“Good,” he said, “Julia would have killed me if you went back with another broken bone.” Forcing himself up, he looked and saw that the main way of getting back to the outside was blocked. “I don’t hear anything.”

“Nor I.” Murdoch had struggled up as well and grabbed his pack again, holding it when trying to put it on pained him. He knew that his pack was mostly the computer, along with some small things. “We may be stuck for a while. I don’t have anything to get through this.”

Pendrick lamented that he didn’t bring his pickhammer from a Sandrock build. “Neither do I.” He looked at the other man. “If Torva stops the bot, xe can get the last builder in Portia that might be able to get us out.” Looking over the man, he saw that there was a dangerous gash along his back. Bless Llewellyn for being smart about the kits. “Hold still.”

William didn’t know why until something flared along his back. Cleaning alcohol. “Ahh,” he hissed. “James?”

“A nice, large gash, likely from some broken metal. You’re lucky Llewellyn thinks he’s sneaky. Put two aid kits into my pack before we went.” He held still while the wound was cleaned, treated, and covered expertly by the other man. Rumbling from the other side of the rubble caused more stuff to rain down on their head. “I think it may be apt to continue inward. You did say there were air currents. Perhaps another exit?” Murdoch nodded and followed the other man.
