01.06: frivolous joys i had as i spent a day in mumbai
rode in a taxi; might sound dull but i’ve always wanted to be in a mumbai taxi; the drivers were very sweet
simply stood and stared in awe at chhatrapati shivaji terminus; it IS majestic
had pani puri at juhu beach - a place of romantic interest to my parents; although i could barely see the sand because it was so crowded
had the time of my life in chhatrapati shivaji maharaj vastu sangrahalaya; didn’t want to leave; locals get to visit this place regularly? i’m jealous
gained a lot of respect for people who can drive in mumbai
enjoyed my hotel stay; i had quite some free time so i took over the sofa and finished a book in one sitting; the fishermen by chigozie obioma was so gripping and haunting; a story about brotherhood, family, a madman, prophecies, grief, violence, colonialism, and much more all wrapped up in a beautifully written folktale; has a striking resemblance to the oral storytelling traditions of many indigenous cultures

The notebooks of Orhan Pamuk
The novelist's Pamuk's notebooks will be published later this year in Memories of Distant Mountains: Illustrated Notebooks, 2009-2022.
Until the age of 22, Pamuk aspired to be a painter. His forthcoming book, Memories of Distant Mountains, collects images and text from his travel notebooks that capture his sketches and thoughts in Istanbul, Urbino, Mumbai, Goa, Granada, Venice, New York, Paris and Los Angeles.
Here's a presentation which includes slides of his notebooks:
youtube
The talk was described in an article about Pamuk and his notebooks, “Plagues and Painting with Words: Glimpses of Orhan Pamuk’s Writing Process.”
For his second talk, in the auditorium of the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke, Pamuk explained the writerly process that rests at the intersection of image and text. The pages of Pamuk’s notebooks contain a running commentary on the labors of writing, as well as intimacies, confessions, and symbolic or poetic codes. They not only trace his travels in Istanbul, Urbino, Mumbai, Goa, Granada, Venice, New York, Paris, Los Angeles, and elsewhere, but also reveal what might be called the topographies of the writer’s mind. A piece of gossip sits next to an epiphany. A statement of nostalgia shares the page with news of publications or a simple accounting of the day’s expenses. That contrast, in which the profound cohabits with the quotidian, reveals the writer in the messiness of life. Pamuk’s notebooks are the calm eye of a storm of creativity. They are itinerary and raw thought, both meditative and marginal. For anyone interested in the inner workings of a brilliant mind, the notebooks are an addicting pleasure that lay bare the wellsprings of Pamuk’s writing. The images contained in his notebooks, which were projected on a large screen during the event, reveal ideas, visions, daily concerns, and snippets of conversation intertwined with vistas and landscapes. At times, the words actually constitute the “view.” As Pamuk writes, “There was a time when words and pictures were one. There was a time, words were pictures and pictures were words.”

DAY 5857
Jalsa, Mumbai Mar 1/2, 2024 Fri/Sat 11:39 AM
🪔 ,
March 02 .. birthday greetings to Ef Gita Avinashi Patel .. Ef Laila Abdelkader .. and Ef Rasha Fouad from Egypt 🇪🇬 .. love and more from the Ef Family .. keep well .. 🙏🏻🚩❤️
The wheels of the mind are the most complicated machinery ever .. how they were designed and in what process is a mystery too ..
Many theories and thoughts by the philosophical mind .. the medical fraternity and the religiosity pundits have jostled about and have not reached a convincing response ..
And it is believed they never shall ..
Unless AI takes over ..
🤣
What begins with the energy and lust for life .. midles down to a desolate thinking environ by the late evening affecting the healed performance of the cerebrum to hopelessness ..
The creative energy needed for an output that is a necessity of some urgency does not evolve and the slumber of the night takes over .. in limitations ..
This is the curse of life ..
To not be able to perform when needed .. to listen with some keenness to the structure and rest ..
But that at time does not assist too or help ..
So to awaken the cells and to rethink the process initiated earlier, plays upon the system and compromise begets compromise ..
Not a bad or undesired element .. but yes a compromise all the same ..
I work on creatives now and shall be in the collection of the museum of thoughts and vocals for the day ..
Later then maybe the chords .. ha h .. pun intended .. shall be functional ..
Love and more ..
Amitabh Bachchan
.. in the preparation of the JOUSTING .. with the opponent ! ..
Most times with LIFE itself ..
