You’ve convinced me that Loulia and sapphic Ms Chatham are real and now I’m imagining Ms Chatham being the first person Lesbian!Emma comes out to.
oohhh i love this!! the rikma in me likes the idea of ms. chatham seeing in rikki and emma, what max saw in lewis and cleo 🥺 i can also see louise 'when you're different, it helps if you have friends who understand' chatham dropping hints in that cryptic way she does that she likes girls, or that she knows emma is a fellow lesbian, or even both!

Hot take (ig) on H2O but i always disliked Ms Chatham, like yes she was helpful but sometimes she overstepped her boundaries. The whole interfering with Rikki and Zane thing was really weird. It’s one thing to tell the girls to stick together but to stalk two kids, while they were harmlessly talking is creepy. She just lowkey made situations even worse 😭

Hello h2hoes, I’ve had this idea in my drafts for awhile and I’m wondering if you would like if I would make a cute little H2o unofficial recipe book for anyone to print out with a bunch of references and stuff ?? Idk if this is a dumb idea but here’s the foods that I want to add:
Peanut butter and banana pancakes Cleo’s fave
Emma’s black current and alfalfa juice
Wilfred’s Juicenet wheatgrass shot
Ms Chatham’s Clam chowder
Emma’s banana beatbox
Zane’s gluten-free pastries
Seaworld’s Ice Cream
Charlotte’s cooking recipes (quiche or something? I don’t remember)
Annette’s secret sauce sauce + Don’s fish (done right)
Terry’s barbecue
Additions from others :)
@outatmako
Lewis's burgers (from the party boat)
Emma's fruit punch (from the first full moon ep)
@makomaniac
Lisa’s homemade yogurt
(Please lmk if there are any more foods that I could possibly add I was really grasping at straws at the end 🙏)
If anyone wants to share any recipes you can aswell :)

That feeling of loving season 3 of H2O for the bigger budget and cuter outfits and Bella but also hating it for no Emma, the deterioration of Zane's character (and Zikki by extension), and getting rid of the lockets and MS CHATHAM

[[ log 68 ]]
~Frost Conditions in the Morning, Cloudy Conditions All Day~
~Wind Speeds Up to 10 km/h~
Time of writing this log is 2142
Duties done at the station:
𓇼 Fog Watch
𓇼 Mail Check
No other duties done, due to it being the day of resting.
Good evening logbook! I didn't do too much today, however, I suppose I ought to write something atleast. For lunch, I was able to have a nice bowl of soup at a local pub, and goodness, did that warm me right up, especially after the frost earlier in the morning. I did recieve a letter, stating that the inspector is coming on the Friday, thankfully I am all prepared. I also had the lovely chance to have some tea with Ms. Chatham and Mr. Keely! Such loving humans, those two, they remind me of my grandparents a little bit, except a lot younger ha. Well, I shall leave you with this for tonight.
May the Seas Guide You~~

Ik I missed some characters so if your favorite isn’t here feel free to add yours in the tags!
personally I think my favorite is rikki but I think everyone else is interesting in there own ways, i really wish charlotte was written differently though, i feel like she had lots of potential but the writers just didn’t take advantage of that.
I didn’t really like the whole Cleo Charlotte lewis love triangle thing I feel like it would have been more interesting if they explored of her personality and her being an artsy theater kid or something? but that’s just me feel free to disagree.

Featured Post: And The Forecast Called For Rain by Kim Carter
Tumblr media
About And The Forecast Called For Rain: "Now a Book Excellence Mystery Fiction Award Winner." Detective Jose Ramirez and the Sierra Hills Police Department are scrambling for leads on a killer who has already struck five times, each time leaving his signature trademark: large butcher knives piercing the abdomens of his young female victims. Profiling the killer is proving to be difficult, and Detective Ramirez knows that it’s only a matter of time before their perpetrator strikes again. As if Ramirez wasn’t frustrated enough, to his dismay, he was assigned a partner. Officer Daniel Chatham, a handsome young man fresh out of grad school, has pulled some strings to join the division and becomes Ramirez’s right-hand man. The lead detective’s anger slowly begins to dissipate as he discovers the book-smart kid can be quite the asset. With Ramirez’s experience, Chatham’s sharp mind and quick thinking, and the insight of Erin Sommers, a beautiful young journalist, the three make a powerful team gaining on their criminal. It’s raining… it’s pouring, and a killer is on the loose in the rainy Sierra Hills of Washington State. No one is who they seem; the plot thickens with every turn. You’ll never guess the ending of this enigmatic tale. I can’t believe I never noticed this parallel before!!
So Emma is obviously mirroring young Ms. Chatham here. They share the same power, and are thematic counterparts. However, she stops before running into her, whereas the past self goes straight through/into Louise. This is symbolic of how Cleo, Emma and Rikki’s story is different from the og trio. This episode is the exact point where their stories diverge from eachother. The fight Louise, Gracie & Julia have is exactly the same as the modern trio, their words echo each other; “you’re underestimating him, the obnoxious stuff is an act most of the time” “friends don’t give each other ultimatums”. In the end, Karl betrays Julia, and the three end up drifting apart. Zane is clearly given the perfect opportunity to betray Rikki. He could prove to everyone he’s not crazy, earn his fathers approval/respect, become famous etc. yet he chooses not to.
Young Ms. Chatham walking into her current self is symbolic of the weight she still carries from that day. She will never get closure from her friends who have now passed, or from knowing why they were chosen to become mermaids. It’s an open wound with an ache she has made peace with over time. Emma will never have to experience that. In this scene, Ms. Chatham may be a metaphor for the older version of Emma. Since Emma stops short, it’s a visual representation of the differences between their stories, and the path Emma will not take.
Another small but notable difference- young Louise is walking away from her friends. Emma is walking with them. She even looks back towards them for support after Ms. Chatham asks about the locket. This contrast speaks volumes on their relationships.
Additionally, this is why I know the girls would not have split up, as m*ko m*rmaids attempts to make canon. But according to the ORIGINAL h2o lore, they would stay friends.

if i were emma i would be quietly pissed that cleo and rikki's boyfriends parallel that of the 1950s mermaids and are basically their soulmates while byron and ash are both Some Guys without the same significance. until, of course, i meet my girlfriend, and ms. chatham tells me she reminds me of her wife. send post

This has been on my mind for a while, I don’t know if it’s exactly a sane theory but here it goes.
Why does everyone call the moon pool by the same name?
The 1950s mermaids, called it the moon pool, as shown by Max and Ms Chatham referring to it as such (I’m not sure if the name of the moon pool is referenced in the flashbacks.)
Tumblr media
Cleo, Rikki and Emma even from a different time than the 1950s mermaids also called it the moon pool. This was in the early episodes pre-Ms Chatham, suggesting that they also came up with the same exact name as the original mermaids fifty years previously. This is shown when Emma finds the locket S1E4 and says, “Whatever is in [the locket] is long gone. But I found it at the bottom of the moon pool.” Am I the only one who finds this crazy like-
Also another point, imagine seeing the moon pool for the very first time. It’s not really the first word that comes to mind, is it? I always thought it would make more sense for the girls to be calling it ‘the sea cave’ or something of the sort before Ms Chatham revealed to them the actual name of the location that then the girls would adopt. But that doesn’t happen?
(That’s actually what I thought happened with Ms. Chatham until I rewatched the show and it turned out that my brain just filled in the blanks.)
Mako Mermaids also has it named the moon pool since the very start, even with their mermaids coming from a completely different backgrounds and cultures having lived all of their lives at sea. Even though the h2o world and the mako mermaids world never came together other than sharing lore except that one time Rikki came to Mako mermaids we don’t talk about that they call it the exact same name. It was also originally made to be a prequel which adds to this question.
What is the coincidence of three previously unconnected groups of people all arrive to the exact same name even so many years apart?
Canonically, the moon pool is sentient. Would it be that crazy to say that the moon pool tells mermaids it’s name?
