M. Night Shyamalan got hit by a truck and died, and everyone said that “Knock at the Cabin” was our last chance to see if he was actually a good director or not.

My movie hot take of the day: Michael Bay is better at character work than Zack Snyder.
From “Bad Boys II”, even without knowing the backstories of the protagonists Mike and Marcus, you learn all you need to know about them in their introduction. Mike is the crazy, wild one since he’s openly threatening people with his guns. Marcus is the level-headed, rational one since he’s trying to deescalate the situation, even with a gun aimed at his head. You get all that information in the first 5 minutes.
Even at his shittiest, Bay’s characters feel distinct. For example, Ken Jeong was only in the 3rd Transformers for a few minutes, but you got a good feel for his character in that he’s extremely obnoxious and unhinged.
Meanwhile, the protagonists in “Rebel Moon” don’t talk to each other like regular people and you don’t get a good feel for the characters at the end of the first movie. Even with all the backstories being dumped out in the 2nd movie, it’s hard to get a feel for the main cast aside from them being brooding and serious.
The best character work I’ve seen in a Snyder movie is still “Dawn of the Dead” and I sincerely believe that’s only because James Gunn wrote the script.

I don’t see enough people praising how good of a job Liam does as a director in Murder Drones (seriously the direction in the show is immaculate holy f*ck) so here’s a collection of my favorite shots from the Murder Drones pilot (though the animators deserve just as much praise for bringing Liam’s incredible vision to life)

Doing the dc universe some justice 😫 😍
I've always watched his films growing up and had a little crush on him. *sigh*
