It's nothing to be ashamed of
It's winter and Mountain grew a bit of a tummy.
Characters: Mountain, Aether
Word count: 635
“Satan”, he mumbled, looking at himself in the mirror. It was his first winter topside, and well… Mountain knew he had been eating more these past weeks. But the fact that his usually flat tummy was not so flat any more made him feel kinda bad. Did he really rot that much, to even grow a gut? Winter was just unexpected cold, and food gave the energy he needed to stay warm, no?
He shrugged it off and put on one of his jumpers. His tummy was well hidden as Mount left his room, reaching for the rehearsal room. He just wanted to practise a bit and after some time Aether joined him, reaching for his acoustic guitar.
“You missed breakfast”, the quint pointed out while tuning the instrument.
The tall ghoul felt the blush creeping up his cheeks and was happy, that his face already was red from practising.
“Yeah, I overslept”, he answered.
Aeth hummed in understanding and stretched his arms before looking back at Mountain. He stood up and walked over to were Ifrit had his guitars, reaching for the fireghouls acoustic one; he barely used it anyway.
“Wanna join me?” Aether held up the instrument and walked back to his pack mate. Mountain stood up from behind the drum set, took the guitar, and sat down at the edge of the stage. He liked playing guitar, though he never really did.
Aether began playing some chords randomly and looked up to see Mountain pulling at the hem of his jumper. The quint chuckled a bit, catching the attention of the others.
“What?”
“Nothing”, he said. “Shall we start?”
Mount nodded, looking down on his hands, and waited for Aether to start a song they both knew. Of course, he chose ‘Space Oddity’. While playing, the tall ghoul hummed along, Aether softly singing the lyrics. Just then, Mountains tummy decided to let out a massive growl and Mountain felt the hunger more than before. This repeated a few times, until Aether stopped playing after the third song and stood up. He took his and Mount's guitars and laid them aside.
“Come, dirt boy, I’ll get you something to eat”, he told and left the room, not even waiting for the embarrassed ghoul to follow him.
Mountain did, though. He heard his tummy growling again and knew he needed food; now.
***
“There you go”, Aether placed a plate full of eggs and bacon in front of him, and Mountain felt his mouth watering as he began to eat.
“Thank you”, he mumbled then.
Aether shrugged it off with a smile, not minding the extra work at all. The fact that Mountain's plate was filled with double as much as usual wasn’t astounding at all. It was normal for an earthghoul to need more calories in winter, Omega told him a few days ago.
Also, he liked how the extra pounds looked on Mountain, whose jumpers always showed a bit when sitting down and Mount had not pulled the hem down yet. And the rest of the pack were obsessed with it, especially Zephyr always searching for extra cuddles from the tall ghoul these days.
“It’s nothing to be ashamed of, okay?”, Aether found himself saying then. “Having a tummy, I mean.”
“I uhm”, Mount answered, “It’s just…” He sighed.
“I know”, Aether patted his shoulder. “But just try to enjoy it. You’ll lose the pounds when it gets warmer again.”
Mountain nodded, because it wasn’t uncomfortable. It was just his mind that told him, that it was something bad, even though it wasn’t. He knew how much he himself liked to snuggle with Aether, especially because the quintghoul had something to really snuggle into. And he remembered just last evening Zephyr snuggling into his own side, patting Mountains tummy, while purring all along.

Dew, laying in bed: "My stomach sounds like two frogs fighting in a puddle, and, fuck, are they angry..." -groans- "Mount, buddy, you got anything over there to help with this?"
Mountain, who has never been more grateful that they have two bathrooms: "No, but I can offer some comfort." -patting Dew with a stick he attached a glove to- "Feel better?"
Dew, getting lightly swatted in the face: "...The frogs are no longer the only things that are angry in this room-"

You idiot
Swiss loves the winter and Mountain is the reason.
Characters: Swiss, Mountain
Word count: 446
Swiss loved winter; he just loved it. And the reason for that was a certain earth ghoul, who was currently snuggled up to him, snoring softly. The sun wasn’t up yet, and the multi was lucky that he could turn up his body heat, as it was freezing cold outside. Under the blanket, it was cosy, to say the least. Swiss had his tail wrapped around Mountain's waist, one leg tossed over Mountain's, clinging to him. Unfortunately, the tall ghoul was wearing a shirt, so Swiss couldn’t simply admire his soft skin. And the freckles on his shoulder were also nearly completely gone, which was kind of sad, Swiss thought so at least.
There was the best part of winter, though: Mountain's paunch. How his lover grew from slim to chubby every winter never failed to amaze Swiss. He loved that tummy, trailing his fingers over the ghoul's happy trail, pinching the soft skin. The way it wiggled when Swiss savoured him, how he could hold onto it, sinking his fingers into that bit of fat...
One of his hands found its way under the hem of the drummer's shirt, caressing his gut.
“What ya doin’?” the earth ghoul grunted softly without opening his eyes, his voice thick with sleep.
“Admiring you,” he answered with a grin.
Mountain snorted and cracked an eye open, watching the other.
“You idiot,” he mumbled quietly, but the smile on his lips spoke for itself.
Swiss squeezed the gut and chuckled at Mountain's reaction, who wiggled a bit. So the multi repeated the motion until the taller ghoul had enough and slipped his hands under the blanket, pulling the other's arms away and rolling them so he could press Swiss into the mattress.
Now it was Swiss's turn to laugh his lungs out, as Mountain knew exactly where to tickle him. And while his hands had Swiss's arms pinned away, his tail was free and attacked the multi's side, making him squirm and laugh.
“Stop! Mount-”
It was hard to form a sentence when you couldn’t really breathe, something Swiss knew from experience; and Mountain did too. He let the other suffer until the only thing coming from him were faint pleas to stop.
“So? Will you be a good boy now?” he asked with a grin, still holding the other's arms. And to his surprise, Swiss nodded, his cheeks completely flushed, chest rising fast.
What Mountain didn’t realize was that Swiss got what he wanted: the earth ghoul grounding him, showing how much winter affected his body and how soft he got. So even with the “torture” he had to go through, the multi counted it as a win.

The Mountain and The Runner
"Runner" is a misnomer, Delmas takes a cab as much as possible.
But he is quite fast, despite what the softer physique might suggest.
So there's a thing in Pale Blood what comes up a few times, and that is Delmas' old career, as a holo-boxer (meaning his matches were projected in the center of Upper Dolor and he was kind of a big deal).
When he was boxing, he was known as The Mountain ("because no one could topple him") and was just as big but also kinda shredded and hard as his namesake. He also had long hair, took better care of his beard, and lived in the sun so was a little less pasty. He was also a bit of an asshat that took advantage of his groupies.
Ten years later and he's a softer mountain, with shorter hair (there's reasons but they're amusing and so I won't spoil them), who lives in the slums with the smog that refuses to let any sun in (but enough to terrify full-blooded fangs)...and he is still a force to be reckoned with. When he can be assed to try. He is also decidedly less of an asshat.
I wanted to try and draw both of these versions of this character...for man practice, and also because I like him quite a bit and he's a lot of fun to write.
I hope they amuse you.
