The Next Generation

In honor of Moon 100, here's a drawing I made of all of the founders' children! Thank you so much for all the likes and support you've been giving this blog. I'm so glad that there are other people out there who are attached to these cats!

Anyways, here are the characters, from top to bottom and left to right:

Top Row: Chervilcry, Stonefreckle, Needlekit, and Frostkit

Second Row: Graypaw and Flurrypelt (Yes, their poses are supposed to mirror Stormrush and Bushmask's in the founders art post I made)

Third Row: Shardfrost, Yuccastar (willow), and Mountainpaw (I drew Mountainpaw how he looked in my head)

Bottom Row: Peakspots, Rosemaryquake, and Antlersky (I drew Rosemaryquake and Antlersky pretty young-they're more like Rosemarypaw and Antlerpaw here).

I have a couple more short stories in the works about some of these characters, so that will probably be the next non moon/sprite related thing you see.

I had two (2) Coniferpaws at the same time! So I had them both request that the leader change their names because they were sick and tired of sharing a name!

The leader has named them Mountainpaw and Cliffpaw.

They are still slightly miffed that their names are still slightly similar but they can live with it for now...

short list of personality traits: ambitious, determined, loyal, battle-hungry, passionate, courageous, temperamental

sootkit was the daughter of a skyclan tom named stormclaw and a shadowclan queen named wolfheart, and she had two brothers, mountainkit and ashkit. at the time, shadowclan and skyclan were in the midst of a dispute over territory, so the birth of these kits caused a great deal of controversy. cross-clan relationships were becoming more common with the younger warriors, so it was mostly several elders and senior warriors that called for wolfheart and the kits to be exiled. whitestar, the leader at the time, refused, but the trio of littermates were well aware of the hostility towards them. for several moons, their only friends were wolfheart, tawnykit, a she-kit with an aptitude for annoying the elders, and emberpaw, a half-thunderclan she-cat who was sympathetic to the kits’ situation.

to drive home the fact that these kits were welcome in shadowclan, whitestar took mountainpaw as his own apprentice. sootpaw was given to echostream, the deputy, and ashpaw was given to redshade, a well-respected warrior. sootpaw formed an especially strong bond with her mentor, looking up to her greatly and continuing to go to her for advice even as she grew older. with the ability to go to gatherings came the opportunity to get to know her father, but unlike mountainpaw and ashpaw, sootpaw shot him down. she misplaced the blame on him for the shadowclan elders’ treatment of her family, and instead she overworked herself in a desperate attempt to gain her clanmates’ approval. she was very, very close with her brothers, however.

when stormclaw died to greencough, ashpaw and mountainpaw mourned, but sootpaw wasn’t sure how to feel. deep down she regretted never getting to know her father, but she wouldn’t admit it to herself. she and her brothers became warriors, and shortly after, whitestar died, leaving echostream to take over as echostar. sootwhisker was immensely proud and maintained that close bond with her mentor. Mountainfrost, he/him, deputy of SnowClan

Mountainfrost is a half-clan cat, with a loner father. His mother ran away from SnowClan when she was younger to live an exciting life with a travelling rogue, but returned, tail between her legs, when said rogue refused to take care of their kits. Mountainfrost always had a weird obsession with his father and went on a journey to go find him after he became a warrior. But that’s mostly irrelevant.

Growing up in SnowClan was great for Mountainfrost. He is super naturally charismatic and made friends really easily, and he was pretty talented in training too. His best friend was Bluepaw. They had been friends since kithood, and Mountainfrost was apprenticed to her father, Darkheart (the current deputy). There was a bit of strain put on their relationship when Bluepaw felt like Mountainpaw was replacing her in her father’s eyes, but their friendship lasted through it.

Mountainfrost and Bluefire are super close now and probably the most influential cats in SnowClan, with Mountainfrost having a good reputation outside of the clan as well. He’s good friends with other popular cats such as Sorrelheart and Swiftpool (both well-liked deputies).

Anyway he’s fun loving and easy-going for the most part, though he has learned to be more responsible and take things a little more seriously over time (probably due to Bluefire’s influence).

New design for my boy! The second pic is his old design & I figured it was time for an upgrade. I’m not,, super thrilled with the new design but its better than the other one at least ;w; Odds are I’ll end up redesigning him again some time soon

Moon 65-Greenleaf

A blow unlike any other has struck ElementClan.  While out on an unassuming walk, Shadestar  (160) slipped into a ravine and lost all her remaining lives.  The Clan is devastated by the loss of their formidable leader.  Their reputation as a Clan with darkness at its heart has died with her.  Will they be at greater risk of attack now that their dark protector is gone?  Is Yuccawillow (44) ready to lead?  Who will become deputy with no other dark-cursed or star-blessed cats in the Clan?  ElementClan has been thrust into a time of uncertainty, with only the young Yuccawillow for guidance.  She heads immediately to the moonstone, alongside Brightfalcon (108).  She is given a life for affection by the long-dead Posywhisper, a life for confidence by the dearly missed Nessie, and a life for adventure by the tiny Foggykit.  Stormrush approaches and gives a quick greeting to Brightfalcon before giving Yuccawillow a life for determination.  Yuccawillow bites back a sob as her long-dead brother Mountainpaw stretches up his nose to give her a life for honesty.  Howllichen is next, with a life for integrity.  Despite not being a fan of Yuccawillow in life, Icyglint steps forward to give her a life for instincts, followed by an ancient Healer named Quailbright with a life for faith.  Finally, Shadestar steps forward.  She congratulates and reassures Yuccawillow before giving her a life for leadership through the darkest times.  What a lovely omen.  She hails Yuccawillow by her new name, Yuccastar.  She has finally achieved the destiny she always knew was coming.  But can she do it well? Yuccastar decides to make Peakspots (33) deputy, despite not being the most experienced warrior and only just receiving an apprentice; a fire-blessed cat is the next best choice if there are no proven dark-cursed or star-blessed cats around.  Peakspots is devastated by the loss of her mother, and hopes that she can make both of her mothers proud as a deputy.

Meta: You may not recognize some of Yuccastar's life-givers' names because they were randomly generated by the game. I don't know why Nightingaletree, Brightshard, Skydawn, and Nookshade didn't give Yuccastar lives. Because a total of nine cats have died by this point in the game. But oh well.

We took Ellie out on her first big adventure today to the town of Idyllwild. She had chicken for lunch (and left over turkey from moms sandwich), treats from MountainPaws Pet Store, a brand new fancy collar, and LOTS of compliments and loves from the many people she met today.
