drunk and crushing (Miguel O’Hara x reader) (part 1)
🕸️ Entangled series 🕸️ ch. 2 prev part
Warnings - alcohol, house party, sexual references
Summary: After your physics midterm, a group of classmates invite you and your friend, Miguel, to “a small party” they’d be throwing late at night. You both get drunk, and Miguel is especially protective and flirty with you; your feelings and crushes on each other are revealed as the night goes on.
FYI: Some words will be bunched together but that’s just me representing slurred drunken words. ALSO this will be in parts so get ready to be fucking edged. Sorry >:D I hope you enjoy <;3
I imagine this playing in the background of this part's party scenes so I HIGHLY recommend listening to this with headphones on while reading:
youtube
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚
We walked out of class together, side by side. “Sooo, I mean, I’ll only go if you go,” he said, nudging my shoulder, smirking with that annoyingly perfect, pearly smile. “Hmmm, ‘a small party,’ she said, I dont know, I don’t believe that… I hate large gatherings and… I don’t know half of the people that’ll be there,” I muttered, my eyes following the passing squirrels then glancing back up at Miguel.
What was the point of going when I knew I would just have to witness every girl and their mother trying to suck this man off in the bathroom??? He’d be busy all night, away from me, why bother? I prefer our mini study dat– sessions. Study sessions.
“Yeah… I know, but you’ll be with me, so you can just… you know, stick with me,” he suggested, shrugging and smiling down at me, his gaze stuck on me as we walked. I smiled, looking at our feet walking together. Stick with him. “Okay, fine, yes, let’s do it. I’ll feel better… that way.” “Okay, I’ll pick you up at 9 then?”
Pick me up? Jesus, why are you like this? Stop being so fucking nice to me; it makes it so much harder to get over you.
It’s fine. He’s just being a good best friend. Friend. We. Are. Just. Friends. He’s just being nice.
“Yes, sounds perfect… thank you, Mig, can’t wait,” I said, giving him a thumbs up as I walked away from him. “Hey, where are you going?” he called out. “I’m going to go meet up with a friend, I’ll see you later tonight, M” I yelled back. “Okay… Y/N,” he muttered, his eyebrows softly scrunched with confusion, lifting his hand up to say goodbye.
* * *
I wore my favorite vintage black strapless dress, and long knee high socks stuffed into my black mary janes. My waves trickled down my shoulders and collar bones. I feel so pretty. I wonder if Miguel will think the same.
He texted me that he’d be here in five. I sat on the short garden wall outside of my apartment complex, waiting for Miguel. He was always early. Always.
Sure enough, he pulled up, smiling and saluting me. “Present, Captain Y/N,” he said, as I walked towards the car door. Before I knew it, he was out of the car, about to open the door for me. As he approached the car door, his eyes scanned me up and down. “You look… really nice. Super beautiful.” I felt my face warm up. “Thank you, Mig,” I replied, shyly. I got in, he closed the door, then went to his side. He got in and began to drive.
“And you. I love that moto jacket on you… and you smell nice,” I replied, leaning towards him, my face near his chest, sniffing him. “Hey, I always smell good,” “Yeah, you do, you do, but you know, it’s a party, I get it. Love, drugs, weed, pussy. I get it,” I replied, hands up. He laughed and rolled his eyes, his deep laugh so rich, music to my ears. He smelled so good. His jacket must be fucking drenched in his smell. I wanted to touch him so badly, to feel his snug t-shirt, his warm muscles against my fingertips. I just knew–“Y/N,” he dragged out. “Yes, sorry, what was the question?” I responded quickly. “You smell good too, and you look pretty, I mean you always look pretty, I mean I just… is there someone from our class you’re looking forward to seeing?” God, you have no idea. “Ummmm, no, nope, no. There isn’t. Is there… someone you–” “No, no. Just the drugs and the weed,” he replied, nodding. I scoffed. Sure.
We pulled up to the house party. There were a million cars and what seemed like a million people inside and outside crowding around the front yard. Colorful lights glowed through the windows as people danced and trashed their red solo cups everywhere.
We found parking, then walked towards the chaos. As we approached, Miguel grabbed my hand. I looked down at it then back up at him. “Stick with me, okay?” he urged, squeezing my hand twice. I nodded. His large, muscular hand wrapped around mine. He was so warm; his calloused palms rubbed softly against mine as we walked in.
We pushed through the crowd to get to the kitchen. The speakers blasted music and sent vibrations across the floor and throughout my body. I clung onto Miguel as we pushed through the crowd. He towered over everyone, as the longing eyes of girls and the envious eyes of guys followed him.
We found Lizzie, our friend from physics, pouring shots for a few other classmates I recognized. “Miguel and Y/N,” she hummed out, teasingly. “You two are so cute! I’m so glad you could both make it!” she exclaimed, winking at me. “Us too,” Miguel replied, squeezing my hand and bumping my shoulder. “Do you guys want some of… this?” she said smirking, holding up a bottle of tequila. Miguel looked down at me for approval. I shrugged. “I’ll do one if you do one,” I told him, smiling. He grinned down at me then nodded to Lizzie. She grabbed a shot glass then a larger glass, 3x the size of mine. “He’s much bigger than you,” she said, shrugging, as she poured them out then slid one in front of each of us. “Fuck, what have we gotten ourselves into?” I asked, picking up the small glass and looking up at Miguel. He raised his glass up to mine and tapped it, “I guess we’ll have to find out,” he said, smirking.
Our eyes met as we both brought the shot glasses to our lips, never breaking eye contact. We downed the shots. Miguel took it extremely, scarily well, as I gasped and hovered over the counter processing the burn. I felt the warmth spread down into my chest. “Mmm that was so yummy,” I moaned. Miguel patted my back and laughed, “Let me get you a soda or something, wait Y/N, have you eaten?” I kept my head down and breathed out, “I saw Dr. Peppers back there, please, God, and yeah… umm I had mac & cheese earlier.” He patted my back then walked away.
“You need a drink?” I turned around to see a guy I knew from physics holding out a plastic cup to me. “Oh, no I’m good, thank you, Miguel should be bringing me something right about now,” I responded, peering behind him. Where is he? It was just righ– “I don’t see him,” he responded smugly, shrugging. I awkwardly laughed. He was cute, but he wasn’t… him. His eyes were glued to my lips. “Ha, ummm, yeah well, so… how do you feel about the midterm?” I asked, trying to ignore the tension.
Lizzie brushed by me, handing me a new shot glass, raising her eyebrows. I didn’t feel the first one in the slightest, so I obliged. I downed the shot, breathed out, caught my breath, and looked back at Jack.
“It was fine. Anyways, Y/N, I see you every lecture, and I’ve always wanted to, you know, talk to you, but you’ve– I mean shit, you got him following you around like a lost puppy–” “Hey, what? Where is this coming from? Miguel’s my friend, he’s my best friend, how is he like a lost puppy?” I argued, offended. “I mean everyone sees how he looks at you,” he replied, confused, like I was the one missing something. “Everyone? What do they see or… think? What do you mea–” “Do you not–? You’re not together? You haven’t…?” he asked, bewildered. “Nope, just friends,” I sighed, grabbing a can off of the counter and chugging. “But hey, thanks for the reminder,” I breathed out before chugging more of whatever this bitter shit was. I need to forget that Miguel doesn’t want me, that he could never think of me the way I think of him.
Jack smiled, and leaned on the counter closer to me, his elbow getting closer and closer to my chest. I looked down at his elbow then up at him with furrowed eyebrows. “You’re close,” I asserted. “You look beautiful tonight, truly. You know what? We should go take a quick hit outside,” he smirked, holding up a joint. “Nah, I’m good, It’s niceandwarm in here and Miguel shouldbecomingtosaveme any minutenow,” I shook my head no, realizing how heavy my head felt. Fuck, this beer can feels a little heavy. “You’re so pretty,” he whispered, getting closer to my face. “We should go get brunch sometime,” he added. Brunch? “That’svery kind but I’m good. DamnIsaid Iwasgood like fifty times. I’m waiting forMiguelllll, my best friend, my buddy, so don’t worry about me! Go check out someone else who’s lonely, I’m not lonely.” “You look lonely,” he reasoned. “Hey, you fucki–” I stopped as I noticed his eyes grow fearful as his gaze looked up above my head. “What are youlookingat, weirdo?” I asked, sharply, reaching my fingertips to my hair.
“Hey, Miguel,” Jack breathed out, grinning fearfully. I looked up to see Miguel behind me peering down at Jack. I watched as he kept his eyes on Jack while lowering a Dr. Pepper into my hand. “Here, Y/N,” “Thank you, Miguel,” I mimicked, looking up at him then back at Jack.
“I’m here. You can leave her alone now,” Miguel hissed at Jack. I like this side of him. Darkened eyes, heavy voice, angst. Gives me chills. “We were just talking about a fucking midterm,” Jack muttered as he walked away. “Yeah okay, pinche gringo,” he called out to him. I turned around and looked up at him. His cheeks were flushed, and his hair slightly messier than when I saw him ten minutes ago. Where had he gone? Who was he with?
“Miguel,” I scolded, holding in my laugh. “What if he understandsSpanish, huh? They’re gonna kickyourass out,” I reasoned. “Nofighting here. This is a peacezone,” I said squeezing his forearm. He shrugged, “Ni modo.” I rolled my eyes then drank more from the can. “Hey, where’d you get that?” Miguel asked, grabbing it out of my hand, analyzing the label. He swiftly drank what was left of the beer then offered me the soda he brought. He lifted my other hand grasping the soda up to my lips, then bit the tab up, snapping the soda open inches away from my lips. “Drink this,” he muttered, through his teeth before spitting the soda tab onto the counter. “Haaaa I forgot about this!” I laughed out. “Yeah, yeah drink some,” he laughed, supporting my hand.
I drank a good amount then pressed it to his lips. His soft pink lips wrapped around the can rim. His eyes stuck to mine as he sipped some. My cheeks burned.
He then grabbed my hand and led me to the upstairs living room. There were far less people and the music wasn’t as loud. A friend stopped Miguel by the mini bar, so I stood beside him as they talked. I subconsciously remained holding his hand, which he held firmly on his lap as he talked to his friend about school. Lizzie and a few of her friends came by again, handing Miguel and I shots. Miguel hesitated as he looked down at his glass, then looked back at me and my now empty shot glass. He stared at me with extreme concern, then continued talking to the guy who was bombarding him with questions about the midterm.
He continued glancing at me, worriedly. “What are youlookingat?” I asked, pushing him with my body, “oops sorry I just meant to nudgeyou not push you, woah you’re so firm, I’ve never felt yourchestbefore geez you’re so strong, wait doyouthinkyou could lift me up? Try carrying me!” I blurted, laughing. A bit of pink creeped into his cheeks, as he smiled and put his hand on my fingers lingering on his chest. “Yeah, Y/N, you’ve had a little too much. No more, okay?” he urged, almost scolding me. “Damnnnn okay, MOMMMM!” I replied, rolling my eyes. He turned to his friend and excused himself, then stood up and turned to face me. He looked down at me, his eyes glaring, as I looked up at him, smiling fearfully. He wrapped his forearms around the back of my thighs, lifted me, and gently carried me over his shoulder, within one second. I was weightless to him. I laughed non stop, as he put me down slowly and rolled his eyes. “Wait couldyoulift me like, like wrappedaroundyou like you know…?” I asked, excited. Jesus, someone stop me.
He tilted his head, looking at me critically, then succumbed. He wrapped his hands on the back of my thighs then effortlessly lifted me up so we were chest to chest, heart to heart. His hands remained on the back of my thighs, my dress was now riding up, probably showing my underwear to the world. I was too drunk to care, and too focused on Miguel to care.
My arms wrapped around his neck, as our faces were inches apart. We looked into each other’s eyes then down at each other’s lips. My heart is beating dangerously fast. Can he feel my heart racing? It felt like 10 minutes had passed us by, when in reality it had been mere seconds. He put me down slowly, as we held eye contact. I wasn’t laughing anymore.
That sobered me up. I cleared my throat and tugged my dress down. His gaze was still glued onto me. His gaze felt different. Has he always looked at me like that? “Let’s go over there,” I suggested, as I pointed at a group of people playing beer pong on the balcony. I hated crowds, but I needed more sobering up; the alcohol was hitting me like a bus. He held my hand and followed me, as I led him through the crowd this time.
As we approached the balcony and made our way through the crowd, the music grew intensely loud. We now had to shout to hear each other. “‘SMALL PARTY’ MY ASS!” I shouted to Miguel. “I KNOW,” he laughed, “IT’S SO FUCKING LOUD. IT’S TOO MUCH” he shouted, over the music. “DO YOU WANNA LEAVE?” “NO, LET’S JUST GO TAKE A RESTROOM BREAK,” he yelled back, grabbing my hand and leading me to one of the bathrooms.
to be continued…

I also learnt about bi buck through beloved blogs of mine collectively losing their shit on my dash 😂 they all revealed themselves as secret 911 blogs and I just couldn't hold back the curiosity and needed to give the show a go! and like many people I loved it and now it's slowly consuming my life and my tumblr 😅
I'm also loving and really appreciating how on the same page we are with our 911 journeys! 🥰🚒 I had also found out about the Buckley family secret and the lightening strike through fic because I couldn't hold myself back anymore lmao. I had fun though! and knowing ahead of time hasn't diminished the watching experience any! so what's our moto? Who cares!
Watching S4 Buck, who's going through so much and wants to be loved so bad, who's hurt and finding his footing -- knowing he'll find his family, and his sexuality, and really settle into himself and his place is honestly so heartwarming 😊🥰 Buck is my fav character for sure, I love his journey 😍
It makes me feel a lot better about not being 100% caught up knowing someone else is right there with me 😅 I see sooo many people on my dash saying they've been in the fandom for years, that they've watched the show since the beginning, but are only diving into fandom now etc etc so I feel a little like 👁️👄👁️ on the edges of fandom. I just need to keep telling myself it doesn't matter how late I joined, just that I'm having fun and enjoying the excitement of a new show and a new fandom. That there are other people right there with me 🤝
You're so right about fandom being SO different with a show that has a weekly release schedule. The gap between episodes is amazing! It gives me time to catch up, to enjoy the theories and art and fic. That's the kind of shit that fandom feeds off, and it's really refreshing. I can't wait for S8! 😍🚒📺
Tommy is such an amazing character, he's so interesting and intriguing even with just the little of what we've seen of him. I am eagerly awaiting seeing more of him 👀 it would be such a waste to write him out tbh. His relationship with Buck is amazing, he's so in depth as a character, a breath of fresh air! I also want to see cool and weird helicopter rescues lmao. Him all cool and confident behind the controls bc I am only a woman 😂
Anyway. Sorry this got long 😅
Buck Begins Anon. (BB Anon? lmao hopefully you know who I am)
oh yeah i'm so glad i was here for the live freakout bc nothing holds a candle to watching folks lose their minds on the dash when something good happens in their beloved media. 🤩🫶 i was surprised how much i love this show - i was half expecting to just follow along with the bi!buck storyline, but then the first ep i watched i was like: oh no (oh yes!) i'm hooked. (angela bassett and kenneth choi got me good). this used to be my multi-fandom/life blog but now it's transformed into a 911 zone and i have zero regrets.
i am truly a buck girlie. and yes, knowing what happens in season 7 makes season 4 buck’s journey that much more significant. i am loving it so far. 💕
i’d love to follow more new 911 blogs who are experiencing it for the first time - consider this a shoutout! and i gotta say my fave thing about seeing longtime fans on the dash is the way their minds connect dots - because not only have they watched the entire series, a lot of them have done so multiple times so their knowledge of whowhatwherehowwhy is really cool to see, whether it be in asks or meta or gifsets or crackposts or fic or spec. 🤯🫡 and there are so many great blogs on here (use that filter and block who you need to, but..) i hadn’t expected to dive headfirst into another fandom but i am having a blast and it really comes down to curating your dash with the people who vibe with your vibes, you just gotta find your people. 😎🥳
i really am so thankful for the gap 😅 i’m so glad 911 is still a network show and not a streaming show. fandom thrives of the gap!
10000% agreed on your tommy thoughts. i think it’s safe to say he’ll be around for all of season 8 and we’ll just have to see what happens at the end.. 🚁💕
‘tis the hazard of conversational asks where each one keeps getting longer! 😅🫶 all good BB!

some stuff i've been reading:
rose of versailles: SO GOOD. 1970s shoujo just does it better, i fear. this is less yuri than i was told but it's so much fun i don't even care. learning a lot about french court drama by investigating how much of this really happened on wikipedia.
iguana girl: 1970s shoujo just does it better x2. hagio moto does it better than anyone else, specifically
rapid commuter underground: absolute eye candy. i couldn't tell you whether or not it's true that this was drawn by a guy commuting to work but i want to believe - it's very rough around the edges and experimental, something drawn for the artist to have fun making. telling a story is secondary here and that's perfect. LOVE the chapter cover pages
day of salvation: as pretentious as i am this one didn't hit for me. i don't actually think i liked this as much as i found it interesting to read; it ends with an extended artist's statement on his anti-war beliefs (what the work is About, to him) that kind of took me by surprise. i'm not sure if i just didn't get it or if the work being about the loss of identity suffered in becoming a parent was something that happened by accident. i will probably still think about it for a while, but the way i think about mother! (2017)
ressentiment: 2/3rds of the way through this. did not expect to enjoy this one at all based on the premise but it's really caught me by surprise. there's a degree of sincerity that makes it stand out from every other series about being a loser who wants to escape from reality; there's an empathy for self-described pond scum here that i find really charming. even if you're a loser, you're still alive, or something. there is still a LOT of scumbag pervert activity in this such that i can't really recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a a preexisting tolerance for it. naming a series about VR eroges after nietzchean philosophy really sets a tone lmao
chemistry textbook: theres. too many carbon atoms

Cool Cold War Ninja
Capcom's Strider series holds the distinction of starring one of the coolest ninjas in video games. Hiryu feels like he was designed to look as rad as possible, from the blue suit to the red scarf to the tonfa-esque cypher blade, and his appearance was partially influenced by Spawn (another hero engineered to radiate style) because Capcom character designer Harumaru saw some Todd McFarlane books one day. Even Hiryu's name (飛竜, "flying dragon") is cool, mostly because it taught me that 竜 is the Japanese simplified form of the Chinese 龍, a character in my own name.
But despite his coolness, Hiryu is better recognized for cameos in the Marvel vs. Capcom series instead of his own franchise. This is most unfortunate, especially considering that Strider's one of the earliest video game examples of a cross-media property. Way back in 1988, Capcom greenlit a Strider comic with the help of the Moto Kikaku mangaka group while also assigning two internal divisions to helm an arcade game and an NES title. The intent was to make Hiryu into a hero who would span multiple mediums and be recognized everywhere, from the printed page to the pixelated screen. And that sorta worked, but not as well as Capcom hoped.
The first and most famous Strider - the 1989 arcade release - begins with Hiryu gliding onto the towers of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic in a truly iconic bit of spritework. Within three seconds, you're hit with an array of action as Hiryu strides forward, explodes enemies in half with his cypher, and does a signature flip where all of his limbs flail outwards in a mid-air cartwheel. The action and setpieces never let up, and over the span of the game's five levels, Hiryu fights a council of politicians who morph into a multi-limbed robotic centipede, runs from mountain avalanches, explores dinosaur-filled Amazon jungles, hitchhikes a ride on an airship, and battles robotic anti-gravity cores in the fringes of outer space.
Strider is a blend of a hundred different things that the developers considered cool. But beyond all of the set pieces, the factor that sticks out to me the most is the Cold War futurism that drips from every level, feeling original but somehow dated at the same time. What other games start with your character infiltrating the "Kazakh Federation" and end with them fighting the sorcerous Grand Master Meio, a dude who seems like a thinly-veiled stereotype of a communist dictator gone wild? What other games commit to their "born in a geopolitical era of tension" vibe by featuring speech samples in multiple languages, including Russian, Japanese and Mandarin? Strider came out right before the fall of the Berlin Wall, and you can feel it. On that note, I don't think Kazakhstan has appeared in any other franchise as much as Strider. Honestly, the world would probably be a better place if more people associated Kazakhstan with Hiryu's adventures instead of Borat.
Strider didn't receive a decent conversion for home consoles until the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive in 1990, and the NES "port" that came out around the same time wasn't a port at all. Instead, NES Strider is an early Metroidvania, and one that I actually enjoy a fair bit. This opinion goes against the norm, since while I can recall NES Strider getting lots of promo in Nintendo Power when I was growing up, popular internet consensus these days tells you that it's a broken game with controls that feel like they're stuck in a beta phase.
I can't refute that - NES Strider's controls stink, especially when you're forced to pull off a wall jump that's impossible to do unless you have perfect timing. (Thankfully it's only a mandatory move at two points.) The game's also got a weird glitchiness about it, with enemies respawning at an utterly aggressive pace and the edges of the screen flickering way too much every time Strider moves an inch. The bugginess of NES Strider supposedly kept its impending Famicom port from ever being released, making it a rare example of a Japanese game that sold in North America but not in its native country.
And yet, the ambition to NES Strider is admirable. The trend of backtracking through levels and using items to unlock previously inaccessible areas might be commonplace now, but it wasn't in 1989. The plot, while burdened by a messy English translation, also features far more of a story than any other game in this franchise thanks to its heavy basis in the Strider manga. (Which is pretty cool, by the way, and partially readable in English thanks to a fan scanlation of its first three chapters.) Instead of simply facing Grand Master Meio, Hiryu's got to dig out corruption from the ranks of his organization, and it's nice to actually get some insight into his companions, from a fellow Strider named Kain to a guy named Ryuzaki who left his Attack-Boots in China.
Strider never blossomed into one of Capcom's sequel-studded franchises of the '90s. The NES game was a bold but flawed experiment that didn't get much traction, and while the arcade game performed okay, many of its key developers left the company soon after its release. In the European market, though, arcade Strider received dozens of ports for home computer systems that really couldn't handle it, like the ZX Spectrum. Tiertex, a local developer behind a handful of these ports, got the rights from Capcom and made Strider II, a sequel with shockingly bad level design which also goes under the name Journey from Darkness: Strider Returns. Capcom effectively retconned Tiertex's work with an in-house Strider 2 in 1999, riding off of the wave that Hiryu received from his inclusion in Marvel vs. Capcom.
Released for the arcade and Playstation, Strider 2 seems to take place two thousand years after its predecessor, with the Hiryu the player controls a clone of the original. It's never entirely clear, as the plot was clearly just an excuse to have Hiryu fight a reincarnated Meio. Forgettable story aside, the game spans as many environments as the first Strider, and the opening level sees Hiryu fighting terrorists in Neo Hong Kong to the beat of some darn good music which sounds suspiciously like the Ozzy Osbourne song Shot in the Dark. There's also a rival Strider named Hein who wears an all-white uniform in a nod to Hinjo, the main character from Tiertex's Strider II, which is a polite ode to a game that Capcom has all but disowned nowadays.
My biggest issue with Strider 2 is that each level is divided into small chunks, with the player forced to sit through loading screens while the next segment loads. Most PS1 games released during this era suffered from long loadtimes, but it's annoying to deal with the same thing in an arcade game. Maybe the load screens are meant to give players a breather before the next spree of button mashing, but I feel like the game's pace suffers tremendously. It's hard to fall into the same "blaze through, slice 'em with the cypher, do a billion flips along the way" rhythm that the first Strider inculcated when you've got to wait five seconds after every major encounter.
Strider 2 released during a period when action platformers were nearly nonexistent in the arcades, and a 30-minute experience - which is about how long it takes to beat the game once you know what you're doing - wasn't going to really cut it on the PS1. And so the series went back into dormancy until 2014, when Capcom once again enlisted the services of a third party. Double Helix Games' Strider is yet another retread of Hiryu versus Meio, but there's a surprising ton of DNA from NES Strider present. These go from the music, which features an awesome remix of the NES game's level 1 Kazakh theme, to the decision to make Hiryu's journey into a full-fledged Metroidvania.
Double Helix clearly poured a lot of love into their work, and I give 'em props for that NES inspiration. But there's something missing from the experience, which is probably why you don't often see 2014 Strider on lists of the best recent Metroidvanias. Unlike the world-spanning levels of the other Striders, this one takes place solely in Kazakh, which is large but very samey. As a result, the game feels padded despite not being terribly long, and the in-game map is far too confusing due to different planes that Hiryu can jump across. While Metroidvanias are one of the few genres that tend to activate my completionist tendencies, I never felt the need to explore every nook and cranny or snag every ability. It's a shame, because Double Helix was almost there in melding Strider's disparate gameplay styles and finally bringing Hiryu back to mainstream stardom. But they didn't stick the landing, and Amazon Game Studios bought Double Helix right after Strider released, ensuring that the devs probably won't ever get the chance to improve on their formula.
It's been almost a decade since Hiryu got his own game. He most recently showed up in Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, and Capcom threw Strider fans a bone with the character Zeku in Street Fighter V, who has a Hiryu-style skin and is said to be the dude who founded the entire Strider order. All of this is neat, but it's baffling that Hiryu - despite being one of the coolest ninjas in gaming - has never had a solo title truly take off since his debut. Some of this might be due to the fact that Capcom has to credit (and presumably pay) Moto Kikaku whenever Hiryu appears, and one could argue that the original arcade game's balls-to-the-wall action and high difficulty don't have a place in Capcom's catalog any longer, or at least aren't as money-printing as new Monster Hunters and Resident Evils. But I think you could easily make something like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice starring Strider Hiryu, and I wish someone would. After all, we're talking about one cool ass Cold War ninja here, and he deserves to shine once more.

Announcement!!!!!
I've seen so many people start doing this crazy spider-sona thing and I so want in on this!! Sadly, according to my bio, I can't draw to save my life so I'm looking for someone willing to draw my silly little spider-sona(you don't have to).

Make Believe: Zarella voices a few words through her organic illusionated webs that cause web illusions to float around the victim therefor naming it "make believe".

Motorola's Edge 50 Phones Make their Debut
Motorola recently announced the launch of its latest batch of premium smartphones under its Edge branding, the Motorola Edge 50 series. The phones pack some lovely features for varying price segments, although they come with new tricks, such as Motorola's "Moto AI," which gives users access to GenAI tools from their handset. With that being said, let's take a look at the new devices. Motorola Edge 50 Pro First Look https://youtu.be/KAYSMy-xFF8 Motorola Edge 50 Ultra First is the most premium of the bunch, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. The phone packs a massive 6.7-inch Super HD+ (2712 x 1220) pOLED display with a super smooth 144Hz refresh rate, which is wrapped inside a chassis that features an IP68 water resistance rating, in addition to a sandblasted aluminium frame, and a back crafted from vegan leather and real wood. It comes in a variety of stylish colour options, including Forest Grey (Vegan Leather), Nordic Wood (Wood), and Peach Fuzz (Vegan Leather). As for performance, the handset runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform, which runs with up to 16GB of RAM alongside a maximum 1TB storage configuration. Powering the Edge 50 Ultra is a decent-sized 4500 mAh battery that also supports 125W fast-charging speeds, up to 50W wireless charging and 10W wireless power sharing. For imaging, the handset comes with a versatile triple-camera system on the back. It is headlined by a powerful 50MP main sensor with a large 1/1.3" optical format and OIS, accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide sensor with macro vision capabilities and a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. There's also a front-facing camera with a 50MP sensor for high-quality selfies and video calls. Motorola Edge 50 Pro Up next is the Motorola Edge 50 Pro, which slots just below the Edge 50 Ultra - this is most evident with the phone's chipset, the decidedly midrange Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. It also tones down the RAM and storage configuration a bit, going down to 12GB and 512GB, respectively. Interestingly, it packs a very similar display configuration with the same 6.7-inch screen size and resolution and is available in Black Beauty (Vegan Leather), Luxe Lavender (Vegan Leather), and a special edition Moonlight Pearl. Notably, Japan will receive a Vanilla Cream (Vegan Leather) option. Things are a bit different when it comes to cameras, though—the Edge 50 Pro packs a triple-camera system with a 50MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultrawide sensor with macro vision capabilities, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom; the front-facing camera also has a 50MP resolution. As with the Ultra, it also comes with a 4500 mAh capacity battery with 125W charging speeds. Motorola Edge 50 Fusion The third phone in the bunch, the Edge 50 Fusion, takes the chip configuration one step lower with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. This time, though, the Edge 50 Fusion has a larger 5,000 mAh battery inside. On the front is a 6.7-inch pOLED display, which packs a curved-edge panel. As a more affordable phone, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion ditches the triple-array camera instead of a dual-camera system on the back. This includes a 50MP primary sensor and a secondary 13MP ultra-wide sensor with macro vision, complemented by a front-facing 32MP camera. The phone is available in Forest Blue with a PMMA back, Hot Pink with a luxurious Vegan Suede finish, and Marshmallow Blue with a stylish Vegan Leather back. Pricing and Availability Motorola is launching new phones across select EMEA countries, including the UK. The top-of-the-line Edge 50 Ultra will be available from mid-May for £849 and comes with a launch promotion that includes a free pair of Moto buds+ worth £129. The mid-range Edge 50 Pro will be available earlier, starting April 16th, for £599 and will also include free Moto buds+ with purchase. The budget-friendly Edge 50 Fusion will arrive in mid-May for £349 and comes with a free pair of standard Moto buds worth £49. Read the full article
