Okay, but thinking about this. At first Ai didn't like Ran, because she was jealous, since she also likes Shinichi, to the point she was even pleased with the fact that Shinichi was coming back to being Conan again, before he could tell Ran how he felt. And NOW, she even feels the need to return a kiss because she feels like she stole it from her, even though it wasn't really a kiss, she was saving his life. She felt like she owned that to Ran because she sees her big sister in her.

But also, this scene from the point of view of Ran and Shinichi must be hilarious. For Ran, imagine a 7 years old kissing you out of nowhere, for Shinichi is probably thinking that she's trying to steal his girlfriend. Also, I can't believe that Ai was the first kiss of both Shinichi AND Ran. This is very funny

Edit: I've been made aware of the Valentine filler episode, which I forgot about, where that pushy guy kissed Conan instead of Ran, but I choose to ignore it, peace and love

We started thinking up an idea for an analog horror-esque video back in July, so I'm beyond thrilled to finally share the results! I tried a lot of new things with this one, and I'm infinitely grateful for Astravis's patience, advice, hard work, and beautiful, inspirational animations and editing.

Part 1 is the skilled Astravis, and Part 2 (and the subtitles) is me! The song is "Poison Tree" by Grouper, and our video sources—composed of a lot of actual VHS footage recorded from my VCR!—are:

"Poison Tree" has been such a fun project to work on, and I learned so much as an editor from the experience. It's a bit surreal to see it all together after months of work—but also really, really amazing. I'm so glad to be able to share it now!
