Autumn Morning (Chapter 40) - A Genshin Impact Story
Zhongli x Original Character
"What you did was reckless. Utterly reckless. You could have been killed!" I sink back as his voice rises but I keep eye contact not wanting to show fear. "I did what had to be done." "What had to be done? Chyou! There was nothing that needed to be done." "Xiao was in need of help," "And he was getting that help." "He left Dr. Baizhu before any medicine could be given and wandered back home. He could have been hurt and I wouldn't have known. No one would have!" "Xiao has gone through this before. He knew the steps that needed to be taken." "I am glad. But I didn't know at the time therefore I acted accordingly." "Do you ever stop and think?" Ouch. "I did. I knew Xiao is important to you and I knew how much it would hurt if something happened to him." "What about you?" "I was fine. I've trained for weeks now to the point where I was before Chao-Xing arrived. I could have defended myself if necessary." "And the karmic debt you took on," I opened my mouth to reply but nothing came out. I didn't know that Xiao's karmic debt was the reason I fell ill.
"It was a risk," I say and right away it was a mistake. "A RISK! CHYOU!" I broke eye contact then as I pulled my legs to my chest. Zhongli takes a deep breath to calm himself before speaking again. "I should have known better. In the end, you are a child-" Child. My head snapped up again and now it was my turn to be angry. "That is all you'll ever see me as, isn't it." "Chyou, let me finish." "No. I get what I did could have ended badly. But I took the risk. I am sorry for the worry I put you through. My kidnapping is still fresh in everyone's mind after all. But, I.Am.Not.A.Child." I growl the last part but Zhongli isn't fazed. "I never said-" "YOU JUST DID!" "STOP CUTTING ME OFF!" We were both standing now inches apart, anger radiating off both of us. "All I'll ever be to you is a child, won't I?" He didn't answer and continued to glare at me. The anger I had began to fade and was replaced with sadness and betrayal. I turn to face away from him as I refused to cry in front of him.

Genshin Impact: The Overworked God [2]
Part 1
Summary: In which one of the lore writers who help write the world of Genshin Impact was suddenly thrusted in the very world they created.
Well, testing characters is one thing, but playing God, and raising 7 children at a time?
Oh boy. He just wants to go home and sleep.
Note: Finally back from break!
Part 2 of the Overworked God! Creator! Male OC!
What if we had a smarter Creator that never forgot his initial wish of going home?
Warning: Genshin and SAGAU themes, some OOC and angst.
★・・・・・・★
Tempus, or Kai has been in the world of Genshin Impact for a very long time, since its creation where it was just him and Celestia.
He struck a deal with Celestia, promising to be the Creator and consequently the God of Time to help create Teyvat, but on his own terms. Doing what he can to save his creations from unnecessary pain and suffering.
So, he’s still overworked, stressed and sleepy all the time, especially now that he has to take care of 7 children too.
But finally…today is the day he could finally go home.
Home sounds foreign to him, after all, he spent more years in Teyvat than on Earth, but he has never given up on returning after fulfilling his duty as the Creator.
It’s going to be a difficult announcement to make, considering how attached his children could be, but perhaps, he could twist the narrative just a bit to appease them.
“Tempus!” Speaking of, two bundles of mass hopped towards him as usual, and he caught them with both arms as if it was a routine. He stumbles a bit, sighs, but pats them on the head.
“It’s been so long since you visited Monstadt! I missed you~” Venti hugged his waist as he peaked up with puppy eyes. Before Kai could respond, Furina beat him to it.
“It’s because he likes Fontaine better! He’s been in my country the longest!” Furina quipped back with a proud expression on her face.
“That’s because you suck at ruling your country!”
“Says you, Mr. Drunkard Bard!”
At least they both have trustworthy people like Neuvillette and Jean to take care of their country…
“That’s enough, you two.” A spark of lightning scared the two to cling onto Tempus even more, but Ei easily picked the two off.
Ah, one of the more responsible leaders…
“Please ignore these two, Tempus.” Ei says stoically, as she sends a deadly glare that shuts the two up.
“It’s fine.” Tempus greets every single Archon with a nod, before taking a seat at the head of the table, his expression showing his tiredness despite the light-hearted banter that usually happens during these meetings.
“Have a seat everyone.” All the Archons did a curt bow before taking their respective seats.
Materializing snacks resembling that of an English afternoon teatime, he smiled when even the stoic Tsaritsa seemed to enjoy his food.
It’s a shame though, this will be his last time.
“Tempus.” He turned to the Tsaritsa, who seemed to notice his distress.
“I’m fine.” He brushed it away, before he felt a cold hand on his.
“Let us know if anything is bothering you.” Zhongli added on, and Tempus shook his head.
His children could handle Teyvat without him, what else would he be worried about?
“Tempus, are your worries the reason why did you call us all today?” Sharp as always, Nahida asks, gaining everyone’s attention all at once.
In the end…Rukkhadevata chose her fate. There are things that could not be changed…
“Yes.” Feeling everyone’s eyes on him, he felt even more estranged.
"As you know, I've overseen Teyvat, guided you all, and tried to make amends for the mistakes of the past," Tempus continued.
“After much thought, I believe it’s time for me to rest.”
Multiple teacups fell onto the table with a loud thud. With a wave of his hand, the spilled tea disappeared.
“T-Tempus! What, what do you mean?” Murata stood up abruptly, knocking over a flower vase, which Tempus easily dissolved to nothing.
“Tempus, how could you abandon us!”
“Calm down.” But it seems to have no effect, instead, he felt the cold hand squeeze his own, sending a shiver down his spine.
“Tempus, you belong to us.”
“As I’ve said, I will be going into deep slumber-” Suddenly, many eyes shot towards the Bard who looked very pale.
“-to take a break.” A teacup shattered, but Tempus paid no mind to it.
“My decision is final, and I hope you can take care of Teyvat while I rest.” For eternity.
“Tempus.” Scoring golden eyes burned into Kai’s soul, and he forced himself to remain neutral as he stared at Zhongli-Morax.
“Please stay. I’m begging you, please, Your Eminence. Please don’t leave us.”
"But what of Teyvat? You've become integral to the stability and well-being of this world, and us." There were many nods that followed.
“We need you.”
There was desperation in his voice, and while it did hurt Tempus to leave them, he doubted he could stay any longer knowing that he could finally leave.
“All of you are strong and are capable enough to rule your countries, which I am very proud of. Teyvat will be in good hands." Some Archons smiled briefly, but it was short lived.
"Which is why it's time for me to step aside and take a break."
They had grown accustomed to Tempus's guidance, his wisdom, and his tireless efforts to steer them towards a better path, so for them to lose his support is like fighting without a weapon.
“W-Where, will you be resting? In Temporium?” Furina’s shaky voice filled the silent room.
“Stay here, the Fortress of Meropide will keep you safe. Fontaine and I will keep you safe.”
“Yes.”
“For how long?” Venti asked, anxiety in his voice.
“I’ll find you, I’ll find you no matter where you run.”
“I do not know, for as long as my body needs.” Their faces became pale at thinking of the possibility of not seeing Tempus again.
With a sigh, he stood up, making others rush to stand too.
“Come here, each one of you.” In an instant, they rushed over and Tempus pulled them one by one into a hug. While he made himself tall and muscular, he felt small in the group hug that lasted an incredibly long time.
He felt arms around his waist, chest, arms and back, being hugged by 7 people at once was somewhat suffocating.
“You all will do great. I will miss you all.” This was not a lie.
“Time flows like water, and perhaps I will wake sooner than you all expect.” This was a lie.
Tempus heard sniffles, and felt hands grabbing his robes and weaving through his long hair.
“Tempus…do you have to leave us?” Nahida asked, tugging his heart strings as he saw such a wise person tear up.
Did she read my thoughts?
Tempus got rid of that idea as he forbade her from doing so, and with his current power alongside Celestia’s authority, she should be blocked from doing such a thing.
“I am not leaving, Nahida. I am merely resting.”
Finally, with some coaxing, he managed to peel them off one by one.
“I leave Teyvat in your hands.”
With that, Tempus bid farewell to the Archons and quickly prepared to depart from Celestia. The longer he stayed, the more unbearable this would become.
However, once he left, the atmosphere shifted once more. The Archons, loyal to their Creator beyond measure, exchanged anxious glances, and a heavy silence settled over the chamber.
“Tempus lied.” Nahida said, as tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Nahida?” All of the Archons felt their heart drop at her words.
“He may be resting in Temporium, but there’s more to it. I can’t read his mind completely, but…he’s going to leave us if we let him go.”
“What are we waiting for then?” Suddenly, the atmosphere turned cold. The Tsaritsa stepped forward with her Ice scepter, Permafrost. Like many other Archon’s weapons, they were gifted to them by the Creator himself.
“If Buer’s words are true, then while his body remains in Temporium, his soul is elsewhere.”
The Archons soon came to a consensus.
“We cannot let him go into slumber.”
Or they will lose him completely.
[Are you ready, dear Creator?]
Tempus laid in his resting chamber on the edges of Temporium, in a makeshift mountain. He created this place in secret, so no one else by him knows.
He felt bad for his kingdom, as he told the royal family that he will be gone doing his Godly duties for a long time, but never informed how long.
Regardless, they should be able to live without a god, considering the technology and time Tempus gave them.
[Yes]
As he lay in his comfortable bed with minimal decorations or other items, he shut his eyes and reminisced about the past.
Although it was a very long time, he was never really alone.
But he has seen much more than a normal human on Earth, from war to life and death, to the repetitions of stories by going back in time many times to fix his mistakes.
“Stop him! He’s going back in time!”
Truly, it takes a mental toll on his mind. He can’t let his emotions take over, otherwise, he would have to redo everything again.
[Thank you for your work, dear Creator]
[Just make sure you fulfill your side of the deal]
[Of course]
When he shut his eyes, he felt safe, comfortable and oddly relieved, relieved of his duties at last.
“Tempus!”
His eyes snapped open and saw his chamber shake with vigor. All of his protective mechanisms activate, indeed, he prepared for this.
“Tempus!”
Voices slowly became louder and the earth seemed to roar.
How did they find him? Was it Buer? It must've been.
“Tempus!”
There was desperation in their voices, and Kai assumed that they seemed to have figured something out.
Perhaps honesty was better, but in the end, this was always the outcome.
Yes, Tempus already knew that no matter what he did, the Archons would rebel, would seek him out.
Even if the walls seem to crumble, it did not affect Kai’s chamber, after all, it was sealed and protected with his powers.
But perhaps with a bit more persistence, they would soon destroy the mountain all together, leaving him and his chamber exposed. But, Tempus was not worried, after all, he had prepared for this moment too long ago.
[Farewell, dear Creator]
Suddenly, he felt a bright light engulf him as he felt incredibly sleepy.
Through his blurred vision, he could see the stormy skies, and all seven Archons rushing towards him.
“Tempus!”
“You can’t leave us, Tempus!”
Seeing them in their prime, in their Archon outfits was a little nostalgic.
Hearing a crack in his chamber’s shield was somewhat surprising, but also, incredible. His children have grown up well.
[Farewell]
With a fleeting smile, Tempus bids farewell to his second home.
“Tempus!”
His eyes close, just as the light takes him whole.
“Tempus!”
Morax and Murata pierced through the tough protective layers desperately, and Ei and Venti whiz past them to reach their Creator.
But, they were too late.
“No, Tempus is…he’s-” Barbados was crying as he held Tempus’s hand.
“Kai! Kai!” Furina bawled her eyes out, calling his real name repeatedly as if it would bring him back.
But he won’t come back.
Bal held his body as she froze in shock (in regret), as if she was reminded of her past.
“Tempus, you’re cruel.” Buer, the one who got them so far and so close but not enough. She knelt down beside him and cried while pressing his hand into her face.
“You’ve left us with death, not slumber. You lied, you lied!”
It was like they lost a part of themselves.
After all, Tempus was there whenever they needed guidance, he sacrificed his own personal time to make sure they were alright.
“K-Kai…” Morax stumbled towards the still body that used to be his friend, mentor, benefactor, love, and everything.
Even in death, he was still so beautiful, kind and holy.
Tempus was their everything.
The Tsaritsa dragged herself towards Tempus with her scepter. She was known to not show her emotions, even when Tempus encouraged her to do so to stay emotionally healthy. He was the only one that saw her vulnerable side, and knew who she really was, and never judged her for it.
“Tempus. How dare you…abandon us like this?” She stood by Tempus’s feet and her eyes did not leave his body at all.
While others wept, her tears were turned into weapons.
Murata stood by her with the same dark, solemn expression.
It’s not fair.
How could he treat them like his everything, and then leave them so abruptly?
If only he could open his eyes again and say it was nothing but a terrible joke.
But Tempus is gone, leaving his lifeless body as his final memory and gift.

As Fate Has It...
So, this is Part One of my answer to Anon's request: https://www.tumblr.com/sailorstar9/765585983822512128/idk-if-you-respond-to-this-but-ive-read-all-your
Warning: Anti-Guizhong, Anti-Rex Lapis (Morax) sort of, Implied One-sided Morax/Guizhong, Angst
It's been an universal fact in Teyvat that the Dragon and the Phoenix are the 'Destined Pair'.
So, what happens when the Dragon betrays the Phoenix for a false Phoenix?
Five thousand and five hundred years before the Traveller awoke from being sealed....
The Adepti Realm was split into different dwellings regions for the various Clans. Among them, the Fiery Jade Realm was one of the oldest and it was also where the legendary Phoenix Clan flourished.
On this particular day, the Clan Elders were all gathered in front of the Fiery Jade Realm's sacred bodhi tree where the Phoenix Queen would emerge from the nine-tiered cultivation pagoda.
Shortly afterwards, the Clan Elders sent out messengers to the other Adepti Realms to inform them of the celebratory banquet that would be hosted for the birth of the Phoenix Queen.
In Rex Lapis' dwelling....
The Lord of Geo reached to grab and read the incoming invitation that came flying towards him. His amber eyes glinted in excitement and he wasted no time in vanishing from his abode in a flash of gold.
“My Lord?” Guizhong whispered, arriving at Rex Lapis' abode gates and watched the burst of amber leave. “That direction...” she turned. “The Fiery Jade Realm? It couldn't be... could it...?”
Meanwhile, in the Fiery Jade Realm...
Rex Lapis materialized at the entrance of the Fiery Jade Realm, the fiery pulse of power emitting from the cultivation pagoda cradled within the branches of the sacred bodhi tree pricking his skin. His brows tightened when he picked up a demonic aura rushing towards the 'Sizzling Fire Barrier' that guarded the cultivation pagoda.
However, before he could react, Bosacius intervened, fending off the assassin with the other Yakshas in tow.
Unbeknownst to any of the Adepti present, Guizhong had also arrived earlier, using a dust cloak to mask her presence before the 'Sizzling Fire Barrier' was raised. She watched up close as, for some unknown reason, the 'Phoenix Fire Jade', the relic that proved the Phoenix's power, react to the presence of the Geo Lord. Her resolve hardened, she memorized the shape of the 'Phoenix Fire Jade' with every intention to replicate the divine relic in order to trick Rex Lapis in acknowledging her as his 'One True Love'.
“Morax is mine. I don't care what the God of Marriage decides.” Guizhong snarled, channelling her powers to the 'Phoenix Fire Jade' and disrupt the Phoenix Queen's ascension. “I will not let you be born.”
Decades later...
A powerful quake rocked the entire Fiery Jade Realm and the Clan Elders rushed to the sacred bodhi tree, the brimming seven-coloured haze aura surrounding cultivation pagoda indicating the revival of the Phoenix Queen.
“The Phoenix Queen is a demi-god at birth?” the Clan Elders whispered excitedly. “What a great honour.”
Amidst the Elders' whispers, the red-clad F/N emerged from the cultivation pagoda, her Phoenix form letting out a screech of victory.
“The Phoenix Clan Elders welcome the Phoenix Queen.” the Clan Elders knelt in revere of their leader.
Several months later...
“Rex Lapis' birthday banquet?” F/N questioned, reading the banquet invite.
“It's his 2700-year-old birthday.” the eldest Clan Elder explained. “Now that the Guili Assembly is been established, the God of Dust is determined to hold a grand birthday banquet to show the Adepti's respect for the Prime Adeptus. Each Adepti Realm has received the invitation.”
On the night of Morax's birthday banquet...
“We welcome the Prime Adeptus.” the gathered Adepti chorused as one.
“Rise.” Rex Lapis gestured.
“My Lord, it's about time.” Guizhong reminded.
As if on cue, the fiery form of the Phoenix Queen flew into the celebratory hall and turned into her human form upon landing with her two female attendants in tow.
“Who is she?” the Adepti started whispering. “It seems she is more powerful than Lady Guizhong.”
“This majestic aura...” Alatus breathed in clear awe. “It couldn't be...”
“Alatus?”Bosacius turned to their youngest member.
“The Phoenix Queen...” Alatus whispered in revere.
“How did you...” Menogias frowned. “I see... your true form is that of the Golden Peng and since the Phoenix Queen is the ruler of the bird Clans....”
“If she's the Phoenix Queen, then what about Lady Guizhong?” Bonanus wondered outloud.
“Feng Huan and Feng Yu from the Fiery Jade Realm.” the two attendants stepped forward. “We give all the Adepti our greetings.”
“She's the Phoenix Queen.” the other Adepti were in shock.
“Guards, arrest this imposter!” Guizhong demanded.
“Who dares?” F/N barked, throwing the gate guards who had rushed in on Guizhong's orders out with a swing of her arm. “Imposter?” she cast a disdainful look at the God of Dust. Reaching out a hand, she summoned Guizhong's 'Phoenix Fire Jade'. “You call this the 'Phoenix Fire Jade'?” she snorted in disbelief. Igniting the 'Pure Glazed Flame' in her palm, she incinerated the replica. “This inferior imitation? Did everyone not know Guizhong's true form is an ape? Answer me this, Rex Lapis.” she addressed the Prime Adeptus. “What is the penalty for a God who impersonates another God of higher stature?”
“No!” Guizhong was immediately on her knees before Morax. “My Lord, you don't mean to penalize me, right? I love you so much!”
“I...” Rex Lapis was in a loss for words.
“I see.” F/N noted sordidly. “So, this is how it is. You have really replaced me, haven't you, Morax? In that case, God of Marriage.” she called forth the God of Marriage.
“This lowly God bows to the Phoenix Queen.” the God of Marriage greeted F/N. “I await your instructions.”
“Remove the Red String of Fate that ties me to Rex Lapis.” F/N spoke determinedly. “And tie me to another.”
“It's been an universal fact that the Dragon and the Phoenix are the 'Destined Pair'.” the God of Marriage pointed out. “And the only other suitable match for the Phoenix Queen is... he has yet been reincarnated, My Lady.”
“It matters not.” F/N waved the God of Marriage's concerns aside. “I'm willing to wait. Feng Huan, Feng Yu, we're leaving.”
With the departure of the three phoenixes, the celebratory hall erupted into chaos.
“I'm wronged!” Guizhong insisted, putting on a pitiful face. “The Phoenix Queen framed me! She set me up!”
“How atrocious!” Rex Lapis snapped.
“Morax... my Lord...” Guizhong crawled towards Rex Lapis. “You have to uphold justice for me! They are all villains... everyone in the Fiery Jade Realm are all villains! You mustn't believe them. The Phoenix Queen must've conspired with her people to to frame me! She framed me!”
“Do you mean to say I'm also a villain who plays up to those in power?” the Earth God presiding over the Fiery Jade Realm inquired. “Lord Morax, this lowly God is the Earth God that guards the Fiery Jade Realm.” he introduced himself. “Several decades ago, Lady Guizhong shielded her form and used her powers to disrupt the Phoenix Queen's ascension.”
“That is a severe crime.” the God of Law, nodded, “It's an even more severe crime than her impersonating the Phoenix Queen.”
“No...” Guizhong whispered. “I.... I was just too flustered... so I panicked. Morax, my Lord, you can't slander me like they did. You just can't!” she pleaded.
“I'm the Prime Adeptus.” Morax reminded. “I'd never side with anyone. And if I were to side with anyone, shouldn't I side with the one who presided over the Guili Assembly with me?”
“No!” Guizhong wailed. “You never took my side! Never, not even once. You've always pushed me away, no matter how well I treated you. I love you so much, yet you never looked at me! Not even once!”
“It seems there is no need to continue with this trial.” Morax concluded. “With the Phoenix Queen's pristine character and Guizhong's criminal record, if we were to continue, I'm afraid even the Herblord's unilateral invite to the Fiery Jade Realm will be rescinded. Guizhong,” he looked down at the weeping God of Dust. “You've lied to me for decades, making me believe that I was tied to you. You've disappointed me. I am utterly disappointed in you. From this day forth, you shall be under house arrest until my say-so. Take her away.”
“No, my Lord Morax!” Guizhong broke down. “I refuse! I won't leave!”
Outside the Fengyin Hall days later...
Morax was silently standing outside the Phoenix Queen's residence ever since dawn broke.
Looking up from the reports she received early in the morning, F/N cast a glance at the Lord of Geo from behind the translucent screen that shielded her and gave the Clan Elder in front of her a slight nod.
“Lord Morax, you've been waiting for quite some time.” Feng Gang hurried to address Rex Lapis. “But waiting won't give you what you want; the Phoenix Queen has already made her intention very clear. Please go back.”
“Master, I can feel your spiritual power is starting to falter.” Alatus teleported before Morax in a puff of black-green smoke. “How about returning to your domain in the Guili Assembly to get some rest?”
“I spent thousands of years looking and waiting for her.” Morax related. “And one mistake... one misunderstanding was all it took for her to unbind herself from me. I just want to make everything clear to her; I refuse to believe she would be this heartless.”
Sometime later...
Thanks to Alatus, F/N decided to give Morax one single chance to talk things over.
“Allow me get this straight.” F/N picked up a piece of snowflake crisp from the dessert dish. “Are you telling me that just because she established the Guili Assembly with you, Guizhong is exempt from punishment?”
“Guizhong has been sentenced to house arrest...” Morax protested.
“If it were any other God, the severity of Guizhong's crimes will have amounted to the immediate destruction of of their immortal core!” F/N snapped. “Now I know where your priorities lay, Rex Lapis. This meeting is over. We are done; go back to your precious Guizhong.” she declared with finality. “Feng Gang, see our guest out.”
“Lord Morax, please.” Feng Gang gestured after F/N took her leave.
That one meeting will the last time Rex Lapis saw F/N.

I love how this turned out and I truly cannot stress that enough. I haven't felt this happy about an art piece of mine in what feels like ages! Not saying I don't feel happy/proud of my other pieces, just saying that this one is just above all of those. It was a comfort as much as a passion to work on this. It's my lockscreen now❤️

Before It’s Too Late - XVIII (18)
And this marks the end of the story, it’s been fun writing this, albeit long, and considering I started this when I first came to college, and now I’m a sophomore, some time has passed. I hope you all enjoyed the story.
As she began to wake up, Lumine could see Paimon hovering with worry. "What's wrong, Paimon?" There must be something going on that has the pixie worried like this, but it seems it was something overly concerning.
"It's Laila, she's not doing well, and right now Paimon thinks you might be in danger," Paimon says as the blonde sat up from the couch. There was a moment of silence between the two before the floating pixie continued. "Paimon thinks we should stay here and wait for Nahida to come back."
Lumine thinks to herself for a moment before looking at the ring on her finger. Even now, with her black fingertips, she couldn't help but feel worry about the situation. Laila was the youngest, but being burdened with this sense of responsibility couldn't be easy for anyone. There was something to note, however, from when Lumine and Paimon first met Laila, she was here on a mission. "Her time is running out, though. Shouldn't we do something about that?"
"Paimon doesn't know if there's something we can do about it. That's why we're waiting for the archons to do something that can help her," the pixie responds and floats to the window. All they had to do was wait.
The archons were in Mondstadt now, considering their gateway to Celestia strayed into the land of freedom. Of the three archways, Barbatos focused some of his power to reignite the sigils hidden. Each of the words shone white before a blinding light came from the arch. The Anemo Archon was the first to step through, followed by the others.
The golden doors closed behind them, now walking the path which led to Celestia's front doors. For Barbatos, being there was a feeling of despair because of Celestia's sleep and unanswered questions. For some archons, however, there were mixed feelings about going back to such a place again.
Most of the structure looked lost to decay, except for the doors that led inside Celestia. Just as they were going to open the doors, they swung open from the other side. Darkness shrouded the Seven's visions, leaving them unable to see what was going on. It wasn't until minutes later that flowers began falling from above that they knew something was wrong.
Sounds of mixed crying and laughter could be heard before the darkness cleared. In front of them were golems made only out of trees, looking anything less than pleasing. "Snap out of it," the pyro archon yells to the others in the midst of fear. "We're here to kill the witch so we can help Laila." It seemed more like a reminder for them to not lose their heads, but the sight of a creator turning into such a creature drove each of the archons in different emotional directions.
There was the sound of laughter which rang throughout Celestia, just enough to catch each of their attentions yet again. Just above them, a light filled the room, showing the witch in the room. The sight of a woman with a body made of black moss, a crown of red spider lilies, and a dress made of decaying flowers.
Archons were not created to show fear, they were created to be perfect soldiers in a war that wouldn't yet happen. Yet in this moment, all of that went out the window. The sight of one of the three Creators turning into such a creature of destruction was mortifying, but not without a sense of pity.
The floating castle's structure started to crumble as deeper cracks formed in the wall, leaving their footing unstable. The archons began summoning their elemental power, an aura forming around each of them. Each of their abilities were aimed at the witch, yet none of them came close. Laughter could still be heard throughout the halls.
"We need to hit her all at once. Singular elements won't work against a creator, let alone a witch," Nahida warns them, which the others nodded before holding their hands out with the gnosis hovering in their hold. The seven gnoses grew brighter as a large ball of power grew above them.
The witch's laughter grew quiet, now becoming curious as to what went on. The growing ball of power above the Archons shaped itself into a familiar face. Within the midst of quietness grew the sound of a wailing woman. The witch in front of the archons begins to cry as if it were a baby.
Mayla could be seen in the growing light from the archon's power, stripping away most of the witch's outline. "Sister," the voice came out scratchy and hoarse, as if her voice was stripped away violently. "You're here," she says in surprise, starting to reach her hand out to the ever-growing power.
The brightness of the gnoses began to dim, but the formed power above the Seven remained intact. A hand formed from the light, which Mayla reached out to touch. However, the moment the two beings connected, the windows shattered as Celestia started to cave in. Harsh winds shoved the Archons around the main hall as a sea of darkness flushed out of the windows and descended from Celestia.
The ground shook below them violently, just before the floating palace crumbled to the ground. Each of the Archons fell, but at the same moment, Mayla's body fell with them. "Barbatos, catch her!" The Tsaritsa yelled to the bard, which he acted quickly to catch the fallen Sister's former body.
Each of them glanced up to the destroyed palace, once again mixed feelings shared between the Seven. "Does this mean we've destroyed the second sister as a witch?" Ei asks next, though she didn't know if their plan was successful or not.
"I think so," Morax could see the ground of Teyvat getting closer, which he set an immediate plan in motion. His hand glowed with the geo sigil, and seconds later, the squeal of a horse could be heard. A carriage with two horses hovered below them, catching each of the Seven.
"And what is all this?" The Pyro archon asked as she'd gotten situated in the carriage which Morax summoned.
"Something from my previous role before I became archon," he says with ease, not paying much attention to the others. "There is a story behind each of us that one another isn't aware of, after all."
As the carriage and horses descended to Teyvat, they landed in the open field of Cape Oath, causing the horses to disappear as well. The sight of the middle sister's statue being cracked identically to Carin's confirmed Mayla's death.
The clouds above them grew dark, covering the sun into an eternal night. The sounds of a woman's screech covered across Cape Oath as a demented blonde figure rushed toward the seven archons. It didn't take long for Morax to recognize the figure as Lumine, who everyone had thought was safe in Sumeru. "Nahida," he says, wanting more context.
"She was asleep when I left her in Paimon's care. Maybe it was her sister that called out to her before she turned into a witch?" She didn't know, but she knew she didn't have the time to theorize. The screeching persisted, hurting their ears as Laila moved toward Barbatos, her hands extended toward her former older sister.
The Archons tried to pool any remaining power they had from their gnoses, but there was none left. Everything they acquired from Celestia had been used up, and now Celestia had fallen. Elemental power didn't work against a witch, their previous battle had confirmed that. "Let me," a voice rang through their heads.
Istaroth took control of each of their bodies, moving them as one as she controlled time on the current witch. Freezing Laila in place, she held the spell, though she knew it wouldn't last long. "Mother called to her familiar some time ago, he should be getting here soon," though the Shade didn't know much about Laila past what she'd been raised on, she knew she heard her call out a name: Faleon.
Within the sky of darkness pierced a bright light, followed by the sight of a dragon closely resembling Morax, though it wasn't him. The moment the dragon landed, Istaroth focused her consciousness into one vessel: Nahida. A moment passed as the dragon shifted themselves into a human composed of pale white skin and hair, but dragon horns stemming from the temples of the head.
"Faleon, you're here," Istaroth greets, which he nodded before turning toward Laila. "Do you have the grief seeds?" She asked next, causing the man to look confused.
"She is a witch, is she not?" His hearty voice asked first, but he was going off from an initial view and not a deeper look.
"Not yet, fortunately. Look at her ring. It is not shattered, meaning she is not a witch yet, but she will be if we don't do something to help her. I believe, in this stage, she is a doppel," the shade answers next, keeping an eye on her spell. "My spell won't hold much longer. Help her, please. Teyvat will fall if she dies."
Without another word, Faleon reached toward Laila's hand, solely focusing on the ring. A grief seed sprouted in his hand, which he held to her ring. The darkness in the sky began to clear up, and Lumine's body now hovered in the air. He held a grief seed long enough that there was no longer a taint in her soul gem, meaning Laila lived.
Istaroth removed her spell from her mother's body, leaving Lumine to descend to the ground. Paimon was nowhere in sight, bringing concern to Barbatos and Morax. "Where is the floating pixie? The one that never leaves Laila's side?"
"Right here," she panted out, quickly flying to the Archons. "She was there one second then flew out the door by the next," Paimon sounded out of breath, which opposed the fact she flies to get around. "From Sumeru straight to here," she says before flying down to Lumine's side.
Quickly nudging the blonde, Paimon's worry grew when she didn't get a response. "Lumine? Lumine!" Tears began streaking her face out of fear, but Istaroth knew why she still hadn't responded yet. Waving her hand over the blonde, her time spell lifted, which Lumine's eyes opened seconds later. "Lumine! You had Paimon worried sick!"
"It wasn't intentional, Paimon," seeing as it was Lumine answering her, Faleon gently took the ring from her finger and held it in his hand. "My head hurts," she says as she sits up on the plane of grass. Looking at her hands, she could see the black residue once at her fingertips was no more.
Upon a second glance, she couldn't see the ring on her finger anymore, which she quickly searched for it. "It's right here," Faleon says as he holds up the ring in his hand. "Where is her body? The sooner the two reconnect, the quicker this can go," he says, which Istaroth hesitated before turning toward the statue.
The shade placed her hand on Laila statue's core, causing her physical body to appear. Faleon connected the ring onto her finger, meaning Laila's conscious was now with her body once again. Immediately, Laila woke up in her body, clearly shaken up. "Where is she? Where is Mayla?"
"Your Grace, you shouldn't worry about that right now," the Tsaritsa helped her up, but it seemed like that wasn't enough to convince her. "You need rest.”
"Where is my sister?" Laila repeated, knowing that her current feeling of dread needed clarification. "Is this Cape Oath?" She only noticed the terrain due to the distance from Mondstadt. Her eyes searched around for some indication that her sister was alive, something to give her genuine hope that she wasn't too late.
It wasn't until her eyes landed on her sister's body that she realized she had failed. The mission Esmera assigned her to... saving her sister... she failed. When she looked toward the statue next, she could see the cracks across Carin and Mayla resembling one another, causing tears to stream from her eyes.
"Your Grace," Lumine rushed to the woman's side, helping her to stand from the grass. Even now, her star vessel didn't know what to say, so she instead let the Creator grieve, as she could not do so the first time around. There was a loose line of sight to Laila's ring, but she could see there wasn't any taint left, not as there once was.
Wind began to howl around the group, harsh winds that Barbatos could not control. Sunlight began to blind everyone except for Faleon, who grew a sense of dread. "Laila, don't do what I think you're about to do," he knew she was a woman of her word, but considering she hadn't said anything recently, there was some speculation about what she had planned.
"They don't deserve it. They don't deserve to know anymore," this solidified his thoughts: she was going to erase all knowledge of the Three Sisters from history in all realms of Teyvat. Red mist flowed from her body as her power grew substantially. Lumine had to let go of Laila because she couldn't handle being so close to a source of raw power anymore.
The first wave of red mist covered all of Teyvat, causing the skies to run red, but there were some notable changes already. The statue of the Three Sisters turned to dust, which carried on the wind into the ocean. It was going to be the first half of her burial, but she still had something else in mind.
The wind grew harsh once more when a second pulse of her power covered Teyvat. Even the archons felt pain from her power, which erased all knowledge of the Three Sisters. Across libraries, any books mentioning their names or information faded to nothing. Some of the great historians in Liyue had their memories wiped of anything related to the Creators. Only the Shining Shades would remember her, as they were her direct creations.
In Sumeru, the Irminsul's knowledge of the Sisters was erased completely. Any documents written by the Akedemiya's students disappeared. Within seconds, there was nothing left, not even a thought pertaining to the Sisters had existed. However, within a sudden flash, both waves of power returned to Laila, just before a wave of gold mist covered the world.
The former floating palace was remade in the image of a different castle, something she remembered seeing in a story. One final wave returned the Archons to their assigned regions with no knowledge of the Sisters. Lumine was the only one who would remember anything about them, as Paimon would be the one to forget as well.
Everything was as it should be. Humans would have nothing to forget, or to remember, about the Three Sisters.
Laila had one last thing she wanted to do, just to give her sisters a final burial and to move on. In her eyes, she had no reason for her to stay in this world, to have the skin as a show of her divinity. Faleon still clung to his mistress, a magical girl to a familiar, even as she strolled through Liyue Harbor.
With the ring on her finger, Laila walked into the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, though Hu Tao noticed her immediately. "Welcome to the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor! Do you want to be sent off quickly, or did you want to set up a reservation?" She asked in an overjoyed tone, always the passionate one about her work.
"What's the earliest time you have? I want to give my sisters a proper burial," Laila says honestly, noting the passion within the woman's voice.
"Tonight, up on Wuwang Hill. What's your preferred form of burial?" Hu Tao asks next, noting her request.
"Cremation, for the three of us," she says honestly, causing her to look at Laila with surprise.
"Alright, 8 PM at Wuwang Hill. Would you like for me to hold on to their bodies or do you prefer to bring them yourself?" It seemed like that was the final question she needed to ask, but Hu Tao already had her theories.
"They will be delivered in a few minutes," though, Laila thought that was the end of the conversation. The director had one last thing to ask.
"Won't it be unsafe? With you being an adeptus, your death could cause damage to its surroundings," Hu Tao didn't mean to offend when she asked, but it was genuine. If an adeptus died, let alone a lesser god, then it could petrify anyone around them.
"It will be fine, but thank you for expressing your concern," the Sister finally leaves, meaning now she only had to wait. Some part of her wanted the archons by her side, but she didn't feel the need for them to be at her funeral. Even though her soul gem was cleansed of what had plagued her, she couldn't handle them being there after failing to spread their stories.
Soon enough, time passed until it was time for the final send-off. Laila and Faleon walked up the path to the top of Wuwang Hill, which Laila had given him her ring. "You're right on time," Hu Tao greeted them at the top of the mountain, just before leading them to an area decorated with sticks and grieving plaques. "I left some space for you, considering you indirectly said the funeral would be for you as well."
"Thank you, Hu Tao," she walks closer to the stick pit, though she spun around to give Faleon her ring. "Hold on to that for me," she says before walking back over. This would've been the last time she saw her sisters, and both of them looked as they did when they were alive, even Carin.
They each were dressed in formal clothing, robes made of satin, each with a slightly distinctive color palette. Once she stepped into the stick pit, she laid beside Mayla, just as she once stood beside her in the statues. "As I lay these spirits to rest, let the afterlife accept their souls so they may reunite as they once were," Hu Tao says before she moves close to the stick pit, using her vision to start the fire.
Blazes of orange and red overtook her vision, though sparkles of white floated from the fire and danced into the sky. Faleon knew this was not Laila's end, but still, he let her get the closure. "Thank you, Director," he says as he looks along the fire, still holding her ring in hand. There wasn't any taint, and the ring wasn't hollowed out, meaning she was still alive.
"Anytime," she says as she stands near the fire, wanting to stay until it went out. A portal opened behind the familiar, which he looked at the fire one last time before stepping through.
"Lumine, Paimon still doesn't understand what you're talking around. The only creator is the Primordial One, and they haven't been around for thousands of years," Paimon says as she stops floating in front of Lumine.
"But there were three. There were Three Sisters who made Teyvat. This isn't right," she knew there was something off, and it must've been because Lumine was one of the Sister's star vessel. Something had changed, but she didn't know why.

Genshin Impact: The Overworked God [1]
Part 2
Summary: In which one of the lore writers who help write the world of Genshin Impact was suddenly thrusted in the very world they created. He doesn't know how this happened and the way home seemed like a pipe dream.
Well, testing characters is one thing, but playing God?
Oh boy.
Note: SAGAU if you squint but not really. Mainly fluff and healing mainly between a tired worker and the oldest Archon.
Male OC!
Warning: Genshin themes with mentions of war, and death. And OC needs some rest.
"Good morning, your Grace."
"5 more minutes..?"
"You are the Creator."
It took approximately one hard pinch to the elbow and 55 seconds later that Kai decided (albeit begrudgingly) that this was his reality.
Always negotiate the terms and pay for any job.
Payment is obviously going back home, but also monetary compensation, enough to retire early as a billionaire. And maybe a nice villa. Or bed.
Until Kai goes home, he might as well get an easier life here.
Which clearly did not go as intended.
"I will not be the babysitter for any Archon." Kai already has countries to run, royal families to manage, and human relationships are ever so complicated. He doesn't have the time nor desire to babysit gods for goodness sake.
And besides, the 7 Archons comes so much later in time!
He's a game writer, not a politician or babysitter! It's only because he played kingdom simulation games before and read too many fictional works that he could figure things out.
Celestia is supposed to be his assistant since he's the Creator, but isn't he working too hard!? At this point, he's gonna retire early!
"But your Grace, you cannot manage the world yourself. Archons can help manage them for you!"
Yes, Celestia gave up in speaking in elegant and ambiguous ways after their first negotiation session.
Kai thought about it for a bit before agreeing, anything that spelled less work for him, he'll take it!
"But, I'm not going to be a babysitter!"
Archon war?
Stop making me do more work!
What happened? It was peaceful for such a long time!
Was it because there were too many gods or powerful creatures? Damn Celestia, you're supposed to keep it under control!
Kai has a migraine everyday, so this wasn't surprising, but did the gods have to fight each other, just so only 7 left?!
Celestia!
"It must be done your Grace! Isn't this what you and your team wrote?"
"Well I changed my mind."
"Your Grace! If you go out there now, they will use you and your powers!"
"But I can't watch people die just because some stupid god or creature that wants power!"
Celestia remained silent at his outburst.
"Tempus. It's too late, it had already begun."
"Celestia!"
"Everything is your will after all. You wrote the story, didn't you?"
It was then did Kai realize that Celestia didn't follow him, but rather the words and designs set by his team in the real world.
Celestia is like an AI robot, one that only acts in accordance to the wishes of it's Creator.
But isn't he the Creator right now?! Does this mean he needs more power to be recognized, or overthrow the set system?
Kai stomped out in fury and for the first time, not as Kai, but the God of Time and Creation.
Tempus.
Tempus never thought he would play God, but here he is, relying on his godly powers to save what's left of his creation.
"Tempus."
Kai sent his final message to his country's royal family before turning to greet the rude guest.
"Morax." One of the 7 victors of war, a newly appointed Archon, entered without announcing anything beforehand and immediately strides towards Kai.
When Morax stops in front of him, there's an awkward silence between them, and Kai knows this man is waiting for something.
"No." But Kai declines. He's got why too much things to deal with and he's not going to do something he's done too many times.
"Guizhong is dead." Kai frowns, ah, of course.
"Please." Morax pleads, and Kai is put at odds when seeing the Lord of Geo so weak, so desperate.
"Morax. You know I cannot."
"Kai." He almost hisses, and Kai could care less.
"I'll do anything to bring everyone back."
"They will die no matter what."
Because I wrote it.
"Shut up!" Kai does not flinch when the God of Contracts claws at him. He simply stares into those golden eyes of fury and desperation.
"Turn back time! Do it!" The entire world quakes at his call, and Tempus is stuck.
Stuck between pity and reality.
"If I do, what will you do? What can you do?" Tempus responds, tired of this entire show. He groans when he felt strong claws around his neck.
"I'll save Guizhong! I'll stop the Archon war!"
"You'll only suffer and regret." Like him.
"I will not." The resolve in his voice is undeniable.
"If only you had been there with me then Guizhong-"
"Will die. If not by the war, then by her people."
"What?" Morax freezes, and Kai could hear the bitter realization hit him.
"If not by her people, then by fate. If not by fate, then by Celestia, by YOU! You of all people know even Gods die, Morax. It's a war." Kai is sick of it.
Tempus tried everything, but he is a powerless, useless god against his own pen in his home world.
Morax inhales, then exhales.
"Do it. Turn back time."
Tempus sighs, a distant memory of a determined, hard-working, and adorable adepti resurfaced in his mind.
He remembers laughing and writing Zhongli's character-
"One chance." Then the Lord of Geo lets go and bows.
"Thank you." Tempus puts a hand on Morax's bloodied shoulder and closes his eyes.
This conversation turns into one of the past.
The Archon war occurs, and Tempus watches Morax fail.
If he prevents one red flag, another arises.
Everything repeats, like a never-ending cycle of torture.
"Morax."
"Tempus." The God of Time stops behind his sitting figure in front of Guizhong and many of his colleagues' graves.
Tempus puts a glazed lily on each of the graves and offers his own condolences.
"Morax. It's over now. Return."
"And where would I return?" Tempus holds out his hand.
"Then, come with me."
Morax accepted and followed.
For some reason, Morax holds onto his hand like his lifeline, and Tempus allows him.
Just like that, the two Gods made their way to Temporium, a land where time moves differently than in the rest of the world.
Temporium is a wonderful nation.
Old as time, this country is the first nation Tempus raised from the ground. It is also the country that he chose to call "home".
The royal family is the one that manages the country and Tempus is merely a guide and protector, helping them navigate the dangers of the past and the future.
His protective shield around this land slows down or speeds up time within the shield, creating a safe haven that is immune to any outside influences.
Kai wants to make this country similar to his real home.
Before he was thrown into this madness.
Tempus leads Morax into a transparent dome known as a green house and stops.
"Morax. Time is limited. So cherish it."
Surrounded by flowers and greenery, there stood a woman with a gentle smile.
"Morax?"
Tempus watches them reunite and thinks that losing sleep is worth it.
Looking up into the skies, Tempus thinks that since he was able to change fate, just slightly, it means Tempus is stronger, but not enough.
Celestia is wavering.
But he's too late.
Too many died, and too many suffered due to his hand. He can't just turn back time, for he will also revert to the past "him".
Nevertheless, Tempus swore to change the plot, and maybe, just maybe, end this never-ending madness.
Seeing as to how Morax and Guizhong are fine, Tempus disappears and reappears under a cherry blossom tree.
There was another person he saved, a sister and leader to many. There, two sisters cried in each other’s arms like no tomorrow.
Tempus watches solemnly, and repeats the same disappearing and reappearing, many times.
Tempus shouldn't be at this tea party.
"Morax. Let's rebuild Liyue."
"Guizhong. They betrayed you." Morax clearly looks like he was withholding his rage.
"I know." Guizhong acknowledges, but isn't afraid.
"But even so, I understand their reasons. To protect their land from an unwanted war."
Her kindness knows no bounds. Truly, no one deserves her.
"Thus Morax, this time, we will rebuild Liyue with the adepti, and we will stand together. As always."
"Guizhong. I...cannot afford to lose you again." She smiles wistfully, and then looks at Tempus.
"I too am afraid of disappearing, and without Tempus, perhaps I would have perished. It was he who saved me and led me to his realm to heal. For that, thank you."
Morax too bows in gratitude.
"I apologize that I cannot save everyone."
"That would be too much to ask from you, Tempus. For you are not an omnipotent, omniscient or omnipresent God."
For the first time, Tempus feels slightly relieved at someone's words.
"I'm sure you did your best and already changed so many people’s lives."
Huh. A soft smile blooms on his face and the two seemed surprised.
Truly, no one deserves her.
Eventually they leave, and Tempus, sends them off peacefully, wishing them the best.
Then, Liyue is built once again.
This time, they build the foundation and protect the city together.
But again, even the gods cannot go against time.
When Guizhong dies, she dies as she scatters her wisdom all over Liyue, to her people, to her country and to her loved ones.
This time, she dies without regrets.
This time, she dies because Celestia told her it was time.
There was no forewarning, but it looked like she knew.
She spent the last of her time with Morax and Tempus before she fades and flutters away like dust.
Again, Morax receives a stone dumbbell, challenging him to unlock.
But this time, there was one thing that changed.
"Morax, I hope you can befriend Tempus. He's the oldest of all gods, the one who has drifted the longest among all. Yet, he is perhaps the one that is the loneliest and wisest, or perhaps that is why he acts the way he acts." She says after she gives him her dumbbell.
"If I have one regret, it would be that I have never gained his trust."
"Guizhong, that's impossible-"
"Morax, he has never shown us more than courtesy and kindness. Maybe I am greedy, but I want to become a friend to all." She smiles.
"That is why, I hope you can be his friend in place of I."
"Of course. By your gift, I pledge to fulfill your will." Morax holds her hand as she disintegrates.
"Thank you Morax. I hope only happiness and prosperity follow you."
Like dust, they slip through his fingers and disappear.
Like all of his comrades, friends, and loved ones.
And Tempus could only watch from the distance like a powerless God he is.
"The loneliest and wisest huh..."
He could only laugh bitterly.
"Tempus."
"Morax." The god replies with a low hum, "What brings you here?"
"I want to give you my gratitude."
"No need." Tempus does not turn to greet him, but simply continues to write. Morax watches him write with a mysterious utensil, a pen.
Tempus truly is worthy of being called a genius amongst geniuses.
A god who built a country, and protected his realm despite the Archon War, and survived. No wonder he is heavily respected and worshiped by his people.
"Teach me."
The god stops.
"What are you talking about?"
"Teach me how to build Liyue."
"It's already built."
"How to govern as a God." Without Guizhong and his friends, Morax is incapable of running a country. His hands were made to fight and seal monsters, not to care for people.
"You do not need to govern a country. Barbatos-"
"He's a fool." Morax heard a muffled laugh.
"But his country is still functioning quite well isn't it?" Tempus turns around, his azure eyes meets his golden ones.
"Tempus."
"What will I get in return? God of Contracts?" Tempus smiles before he stands.
"What do you need?"
"Trade." Morax blinks.
"Free trade amongst civilians. No taxes or barriers." Morax doesn't quite understand his terms, but he's willing to learn.
"I accept."
"You don't even know what I said didn't you?" Tempus crosses his arms and shook his head.
"I believe you are a fair person and one who will teach me what I need to know.”
“Just like old times isn’t it?”
This was Morax's first contract, and certainly won't be the last.
Time passes quickly, and soon, Morax and Barbatos become the two of the original seven left.
Despite this, Tempus does his job as both a Creator and babysitter job well.
He ensures Gods fulfill their duty and if they need help, they can seek him out. If Tempus ever saw something worth his time (which is like...every time), he too would interfere, gaining the Archons' favour.
He realized the power of the butterfly effect. From saving Gods such as Guizhong and Makoto, even with what little power he had during the Archon War to extend their life, it played an immense part in changing the Archons themselves.
Again, too much work, and too little time.
Even if he slows down time, he could never get enough sleep.
It's also blatantly obviously the Archons are treating him too well, but he originally thought it made sense with all the effort he put in to change the plot.
But their affectionate gestures increased after they found of he was the Creator.
Tempus really shouldn't have told Morax this a while back and allowed him to tell the other Archons. Luckily, he prevented them from telling anyone else under the pretense that it was his order.
Even so, Kai finally feels a little more at ease. He could finally get some sleep.
Could he really complain about the children (Archons) when they gave him the most premium material to sleep on?
Or hear a private concert from a certain bard?
Or try out the best food in the jungles?
Or let him sleep under the giant cherry blossoms whenever he wants?
Or take him out to a hot springs in Liyue?
"Kai. How are you feeling?" Zhongli asks from behind him, who is washing his long, long hair.
"Good...Thanks...Zhongli."
Kai can finally relax a bit and it’s well deserved. Taking care of kids is hard. Much less 7 at once.
At least they’re paying him back with interest.
Zhongli couldn't help but smile proudly when the sleepless God fell asleep in his domain.
He'd be sure to brag about this at their next Archon meeting.
Not knowing it would be their last.

- Hello -
-6000+ Years Ago
“Umma, he’s staring at me again.” The child with fiery red hair clung to her mother’s leg and peeked at the new playmate she had been introduced to. His amber eyes hadn’t left her since they met, and despite having small horns herself, somehow his were scary simply because he was her size.
“Vine, say hello to Morax.”
“No.”
“Vine…”
Morax’s parent laughed. “It’s alright. It takes time. Morax, why don’t you try saying hello instead.”
Morax looked up and then stepped forward. “Hi.”
“No hi.” Vine pouted.
“Sweetie, try saying ‘hi Morax’ back.” Her mother rubbed Vine’s back and shook her head.
“Can’t…”
“Oh!” It dawned on her mother that Vine was embarrassed at her pronunciation. “Sweetie, he won’t laugh.”
“No.”
Morax looked back up at his parent in confusion.
“Try it once.”
Vine muttered unintelligibly to herself before saying, “Hi Mowax.”
Morax’s parent had to glance away to not audibly ‘aw’ at the toddler’s pronunciation.
He held out his hand wordlessly. The lack of laughter finally made Vine step out from behind her mother and take his hand.
“Where go?”
“Pretty rock.”
The two of them wandered over to a bit of exposed cor lapis. They both crouched and poked at it, chattering in their young voices. The parents breathed a sigh of relief too soon. Moments later, Vine shrieked and started crying. On second look, the culprit was Morax, holding a strand of her red hair in his chubby hands.
“Morax, we don’t pull people’s hair, no matter how pretty it is!”
A look of pure surprise was on his face as he looked at the hair and Vine. “Oh. Sorry.”
It wasn’t enough to console Vine, who was overdue for a nap as she sobbed with big watery tears. Her mother picked her up and patted her back, rocking her back and forth.
“We can try again another day. It is quite late.”
“No!”
Morax’s parent smiled and nodded.

The first meeting didn't go as desired, but the toddlers soon learned that neither of them were going anywhere anytime soon and so formed a tentative alliance against slimes, cincins, and whopperflowers.

What does power mean to a feeble worshipped?
What does love mean to a impenetrable devotee?
What does loss mean to a modest darling?
The morning sun pours its light on the marble floor of the sanctuary, reflecting the well-polished beauty of its beige to the resounding hall. The pillars supporting the council hall, carved with intricate patterns of Glaze Lily, boast the Geo Archon's handicraft and his endless dedication toward the creator of all.
In the innermost center of the assembly hall, stood proudly, is the imposing throne, decorated with the purest of Cor Lapis and Noctilucos Jade which are assembled tastefully.
In front of the throne, kneels the gifter of all those offerings, with a frown apparent on his handsome countenance.
"Your Grace," he begins as he looks up to your trembling position in your throne. "You must decide, as a ruler and a god, as a being who watch over the people." His golden eyes as they look at you is soft and kind, unbefitting of the topic coming from his mouth.
"But Morax, I have already told you that I will not permit it. Nothing you say will change my mind."
Despite your determined answer, he continues, "I understand that your kindness is a virtue that is a blessing to Teyvat. However, you are someone who stands above others. Your decisions should depend not on your emotions but on the necessity."
Normally, you would have granted him all his wish if he insisted this much. However, you cannot budge easily, not this time. "But he didn't nothing wrong. All he did was fulfilling my wish of wanting a friend."
"And that, Your Grace, that, in itself, is presumptuous. A mere mortal should know their place."
"Morax, he is not a mere mortal. He is someone I regard as my equal. You should know well that insulting him is equal as insulting me."
Morax's expression, which remained calm the whole conversation morphs into a big frown at the mention of your acknowledgment for the man.
"Your Grace, you may have created this world but you are so ignorant of the ways of life in it, aren't you? There surely is no one equal to you. I grantee that as the being eldest in this world."
The topic is getting nowhere and even the ever collected Morax is showing signs of agitation.
"Your Grace, the man, Yang'asha, is a native of Liyue. It is well within my authority, given to none other than yourself, to judge my own people. I have also gained agreement from Qixing who also bears the same opinion as me on the man's punishment. So, his execution is already decided."
It is quite ironic that despite calling you his deity, he does nothing to follow your command.
That was the reason why you valued your friend so much, a man with a kind smile and a soft heart. In this world filled with your so called acolytes, who worshipped your form but refused to listen to your voice, he was the only one who treated you sincerely. A man who flustered easily when you teased him, who nodded shyly when you confessed him, and who hugged you tightly when you spent the night with him, he was the man who you were blessed to have as a lover.
That is the same man who is on the brink of death because of your devotee.
"Are you making me beg you, Morax? To kneel down and kiss your feet the same way you swore to worship me. Because if that is what I need to do to make you let him live, I will do so. Whatever contract you will bring out, I am ready to sign. Because nothing in Teyvat matters to me more than Yang'asha."
You know you are being very daring to say such words to the God of Contracts. But you have no choice left. You have neither the authority nor the strength to go against him so all you can do is beg for his mercy.
"Please Morax, please, let him live."
You stand up from your throne and walk towards where the Archon is kneeling and kneel down in the same manner. You then lower your head until it is touching the marble of the floor.
You do not look up until you hear his deep voice of "Shall we make a contract?"
........
When Yang'asha wakes up, he realizes he is in a room in the Wanshu Inn. At his bedside, stands a little man with green tattoos.
"Are you awake? Great to see your injuries healing well."
"Are you the one who saved me from the strange domain? Thank you. Ahhh..!" Yang'asha winces from pain as he gets up from his bed. "Where is the man with golden eyes who was hurting me? I should inform millelith about him. He is a monster unseen or unheard of before."
"Monster?" The short stranger frowned.
"Well, you have seen my injuries. There is no way a human can hurt another this much, and they are done without the intention to kill. Not even the notorious fatui can be this inhumane."
"Where are you going?" Seeing Yang'asha heading to the door, in spite of his wounds, the green-head asks.
"To Liyue harbour." The youth replies, smiling.
"You shouldn't go." The little man says with a difficult expression on his face.
"I am sorry but my girlfriend, Y/n, must be worried sick when I disappeared without any word. You will always be here, right? I will come again to thank you properly."
Passing by the Guili Plains, the youth aims for Liyue harbour where his beloved will be waiting in her solidarity palace. And as he reaches the bridge in front of Feiyun Slope, he sees the harbor he grew up in is in a festive mode full of red decorations everywhere.
He goes to the millelith positioned at the bridge to inquire about the out of season festival.
"Sir, sorry to interrupt but may I know why is Liyue harbour being so lively?"
At his question, the millelith looks at him like he has grown two heads.
"You do not know? Where have you been this whole time?! Today is the precious day you will have a chance to catch the profile of Your Grace, the creator."
Y/n is going out in front of public? That is strange. There is no one as introverted as you. He thinks to himself.
"Thank you, Sir, for answering."
"No problem. If you go now, you can still see the procession. Hurry up. I would be running now if I did not have my duty."
Yang'asha thanks the kind millelith once again and leave. He wants to see you as soon as possible too.
As he hurriedly goes up the stairs of Feiyun Slope, he finally sees you, you in your red hanfu being carried away by a carriage. Unlike what the millelith said, he cannot see your face as a red veil covers it. But Yang'asha who knows you like no other could tell from your eyes that you are certainly not in a festive mood.
That is when he notices there is a man beside you, in equally red attire, with a contented smile on his face, that is complete opposite of your own sad expressionm. The golden eyes that are scarily familiar to the ones Yang'asha knew shines under the sun light.
At that moment, Yang'asha heard from the onlooker beside him that "To think our Archon has never left us. And to think Your Grace would choose him as their spouse. There is surely no greater honor for us Liyue citizens than the great fortune this wedding has given us."
No. No. No. No. No. No. This can't be true.

Introducing RJ!
Hi, y'all. I'm RJ, and I guess an idea of what I talk about typically goes in these posts. You'll find an extreme thirst for 2D men, my abnormal life, art I enjoy, and some of my writing. This is an adult blog, so expect everything to be M-rated and higher.
About me
I go by RJ Mercy on Twitch, Twitter, itch.io, and ko-fi. On Ao3 and tumblr, I'm RJ Thirsty. Get it? I thought it was funny.
I'm just your neurospicy NB aromantic friend who thirsts, streams, and writes fanfic and other otome-related content.
I'm chronically ill, which I forget new people don't know, but after 4 years, it's just something you live with at this point. Sometimes I'll talk about it, so don't freak out if I say I'm sick. It's normal.
I play mainly otome games. I play mainly on mobile, but also on Switch and PC.
I'm obsessed with the Ikemen Series.
If you're interested in what's in the mind of a simp, or maybe you want a rambling request, send me an ask and I'll do my best to answer.
If you like what I do, send me a ko-fi. I've started a membership system on there, and commissions will be listed there first.
