if i wasnt so attached to etali as the centerpiece i think id do moraug as the commander and swap out like a good 5-6 "additional combat phase" cards in there for like burnished hart and whatnot

Have you ever read the [verb] [adverb] Dragons quartet by Patricia C. Wrede? The first book, Dealing With Dragons, addresses the whole "what do dragons do with princesses" issue
The Enchanted Forest series is actually exactly where I got the idea that dragons stole princesses as cleaning staff. It just made sense and I never questioned it until today

IT’S ONLY TURN THREE!
I started out with land mana crypt Azusa land land on turn one.
I ended up with 11 mana on turn three and cast moraug, fury of akoum and did two fetch lands.
Got five total combat phases and murdered my friend.
It was only turn three.

With the full reveal of Zendikar Rising finally out, time to dig into some of the new commanders we have. Moraug, Fury of Akoum allows you to get extra combat steps whenever you have a land enter the battlefield during your main phase. If you were thinking about building around this big cow man, looks at some of these synergistic cards to add to your commander list.

Hey, Mark! I would just like to say thank you for the great support minotaurs have recieved the last year. Sethron, Moraug and Deathbellow War Cry are all amazing! Please provide the people behind these gems with some safe-distanced elbow taps!
Will do.

The Legends of Zendikar Rising: Moraug, Fury of Akoum
Tumblr media
“Some minotaurs, like Moraug, forego all the trappings of civilization and live in the wilds, embracing their bestial nature. He lives as a predator, feeding on whatever animals he can catch—or on humanoids if no other prey is available.
His horns have grown wild and cruel—perhaps larger than any minotaur in history. A black market exists for minotaur horns, and ones as large as Moraug's could keep a person fed for the rest of their life. Many would-be poachers have found the horns they seek—brutally impaled through their sternum.”

"Rakdos, Lord of Riots defeats Moraug, Fury of Akoum with 66.6% of the vote" How fortuitous
Ha!  That’s hilarious, I hadn’t noticed that.
