Monkeypox Market Landscape: Epidemiology, Key Treatments, and 2032 Forecast
Tumblr media
Monkeypox is a viral zoonotic disease caused by the monkeypox virus, part of the orthopoxvirus family, closely related to the variola virus, which causes smallpox. Although historically endemic to parts of Central and West Africa, recent outbreaks have been reported in non-endemic regions, sparking global concern. Symptoms of monkeypox include fever, rash, swollen lymph nodes, and muscle aches. While typically less severe than smallpox, the disease can cause serious complications, particularly in children, pregnant women, and immunocompromised individuals.
Transmission occurs through close contact with an infected person, contaminated surfaces, or respiratory droplets, making person-to-person spread a growing concern. With the re-emergence of cases worldwide, the need for effective vaccines, antiviral medications, and diagnostic tools has become paramount.
Monkeypox Market Insights
Since the global outbreak in 2022, the monkeypox market has grown rapidly, with rising demand for antiviral treatments, vaccines, and diagnostics. Vaccines such as JYNNEOS (by Bavarian Nordic) and ACAM2000, initially developed for smallpox, have been repurposed to protect against monkeypox. Antiviral treatments like Tecovirimat (TPOXX) have also played a crucial role in managing infections, demonstrating effectiveness against orthopoxviruses.
Governments and healthcare organizations have responded by increasing investments in public health infrastructure, diagnostics, and vaccine production to contain outbreaks. The focus on early detection through advanced diagnostic tools has also gained momentum, ensuring faster response to new cases. As awareness grows, the monkeypox market is positioned for continued expansion, with efforts directed toward preparedness and prevention strategies.
Key Players in the Monkeypox Market
Several pharmaceutical companies have taken the lead in developing solutions for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of monkeypox. Key players include:
Bavarian Nordic A/S – Developer of the JYNNEOS vaccine
SIGA Technologies, Inc. – Manufacturer of Tecovirimat (TPOXX)
Emergent BioSolutions Inc.
Johnson & Johnson
Novavax, Inc.
GeoVax Labs, Inc.
Chimerix, Inc.
BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Tekmira Pharmaceuticals Corporation
Inovio Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
These companies are focused on scaling up vaccine production, advancing new therapies, and developing cutting-edge diagnostic tools to combat the evolving threat of monkeypox.
Monkeypox Epidemiology Overview
The epidemiology of monkeypox has evolved significantly, with confirmed cases now reported in countries across North America, Europe, and Asia. While the virus was previously confined to specific regions of Africa, increased travel and close-contact activities have contributed to its spread. The shift in transmission patterns has raised concerns about monkeypox becoming a more persistent global health threat.
In response, governments have enhanced surveillance and case reporting efforts to better monitor outbreaks. Comprehensive epidemiological databases have been developed to track case numbers, transmission chains, and population risk factors. High-risk groups, such as healthcare workers, individuals in close-contact environments, and those with pre-existing health conditions, are the primary focus for vaccination and treatment campaigns.
Monkeypox Market Forecast – 2032
The monkeypox market is projected to experience steady growth through 2032, driven by increasing investments in vaccine development, antiviral therapies, and rapid diagnostic tools. Governments are expected to continue allocating resources to outbreak preparedness by stockpiling vaccines, scaling up production, and improving healthcare infrastructure to address future outbreaks.
Key factors contributing to the market’s growth include innovations in vaccine technology, expanded antiviral pipelines, and advancements in diagnostic tools for early detection. Public awareness campaigns, combined with supportive health policies, will further drive the adoption of preventive and therapeutic solutions. Additionally, pharmaceutical companies are expected to accelerate the development of new vaccines and treatments to meet rising demand.
Challenges and Opportunities
Despite the positive growth trajectory, the market faces several challenges, such as supply chain disruptions, limited diagnostic coverage in certain regions, and public hesitancy toward vaccination. However, opportunities also abound, with digital health technologies offering innovative ways to enhance outbreak tracking and patient care.
Collaboration between governments, health organizations, and pharmaceutical companies will be essential in ensuring equitable access to vaccines and treatments. Regulatory support will play a critical role in fast-tracking the development and approval of novel therapies, further accelerating market growth.
Conclusion
The monkeypox market is set for sustained growth through 2032, driven by advancements in vaccines, diagnostics, and therapeutics. As public health systems enhance preparedness, companies ramp up production, and awareness campaigns expand, the global response to monkeypox will become more robust.
With new developments on the horizon and collaborative efforts between governments and pharmaceutical companies, the market will continue to grow. This expansion will improve access to essential tools, enabling better management of monkeypox outbreaks and contributing to greater global health resilience over the coming decade.

It has been over 50 years since the first cases of mpox, the disease formerly known as monkeypox, were discovered in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Mpox is related to smallpox, and causes symptoms similar to but milder than its once-feared relative, which was eradicated in 1980. For decades, mpox outbreaks were self-limiting, resulting in a few hundred, perhaps a few thousand cases in regions that are endemic for the disease in West and Central Africa. However, in 2022, a global outbreak led to close to 100,000 cases worldwide, transmitted primarily among men who have sex with men, and through sexual contact. This was a departure for the virus, which until then was known to be largely transmitted from small mammals to humans in forested locales, with limited human-to-human spread by close physical contact. A disease ignored by much of the world until then shot up the charts in the attention of public health officials everywhere, gaining notoriety among politicians and the general public, particularly the LGBTQ community. A vaccine for smallpox made by a small company in Denmark, Bavarian Nordic, was deployed rapidly in the United States and in other rich countries affected by the outbreak. Within a few months, shifts in behavior by gay men, and perhaps a little help from the vaccine, brought the outbreak under control, though cases erupt from time to time still in the United States and elsewhere. But in September 2023, less than six months after the World Health Organization called the acute phase of that outbreak over, a new outbreak was starting in DRC. And it continued throughout the rest of the year into 2024, with now close to 20,000 cases reported and close to 1,000 deaths—all likely to be grossly underreported due to the weak health infrastructure in DRC and surrounding countries. The global outbreak in 2022–23, by contrast, caused only about 200 deaths, with the clade—or strain of virus—responsible for this new outbreak historically being thought of as more lethal than the 2022 variant. As of mid-August, two cases of this new strain have been reported globally, one in Sweden and another in Thailand. The relative rapidity with which the international community responded to the 2022–23 outbreak stands in stark contrast to what has happened now with a severe outbreak roiling through Africa. It’s hard not to think that this has everything to do with who has been hit hardest; white people in high-income countries in 2022, black people in low-income countries in 2024. But in addition to the continuing colonial and racist forces at work in global health, it’s also important to realize that whether it’s Covid, H5N1, or mpox, there isn’t a lot of appetite for confronting public health problems until they are impossible to ignore—whether at home or abroad.

anyways im radicalized now
aeon ginsberg
I’m not funding a war  if I pretend the money  in my taxes are only going  toward the roads that  are actively collapsing.
Did you hear about the soldiers              who stole all of those tractors?              Did you hear the company              that makes those tractors,  founded in a country not “fighting” in the war,              was able to brick the tractors              before they were at all functional?
There are in-built kill switches in our devices.
Think about your debts and              how much they weigh.
US company sends a shipment of bricks              equal to the weight of the hard drives they develop              to Singapore because  they can get away with it.
Do you think if the bulldozer used              to build the Killdozer was an American make              it would have been stopped before              it was rendered inert too?  Maybe the make made the autonomy possible.
I’m not funding a war,              I’m in one.
There’s no recourse to repair  what we own within legality.              Amazon acquires OneMedical healthcare,              Amazon sells medical information to the police.  It hasn’t happened yet but              the Ring Doorbells send footage              to the police without the consent              and the knowledge of the “owners,”  and who makes the doorbells?
User on twitter finds out the company              that they got their printer from              can disable its functionality from afar              because their debit card had expired.  A friend can have their CPAP machine             forcibly taken away from them              if they aren’t using it “enough.”  John Deere pioneered the addition of remote              kill switches being installed in technology              and now the idea of one being installed              into a pacemaker is not
            so far off.
Rendering a piece of technology inert              is called “bricking” it.              Are you excited to talk to a friend and              because of the status of their debts  a brick is weighed into their body?
Think about what you owe  and how much it weighs,  think about what you give away              and where it goes, think about              how much choice you really have,
if you have choice at all.              Marvin Heemeyer’s choices were diminished              until there was nothing left but to build Killdozer              but even so he was allowed to build it              without the only options he had left becoming bricks.
It’s called a siege when you decide  to wait for your enemy to run out of resources.              It’s called “scorched earth” to destroy anything              that might be useful to whomever you’re fighting against.              Who was the first brick at Stonewall?  We got past Act Up and now you can’t get  a monkeypox vaccine unless you can prove  you’re a gay man who has sex with other men.
Did you know you can be arrested for sodomy still?              Did you know some John Deere tractors only work              if the same farmer is buying Monsanto approved seed?
Marvin Heemeyer said “It is interesting to observe              that I was never caught.”             Maybe we will get a justified right to repair,              maybe the earth will die before then.              Scorched Earth.
We’re in an overwhelming heat wave,  we’re in the coldest summer of the rest of our lives.  They don’t make the tools we need              to become autonomous anymore              because they can ship us              our weight in debts instead.
What happens when we learn              that we can’t use our refrigerators  because we’re late on rent?              What are you going to do              if you’re trying to shoot yourself              in the head and the gun won’t go off because your sold healthcare data  informed the manufacturer  that because of severe depression
the guns you own will become bricked?
What are you going to do  when you can’t do anything else  but lower the DIY armour              over the caddy of your killdozer,              only to find that it’s been rendered              a series of bricks?
“It is interesting to observe              that I was never caught ...              somehow their vision was clouded”

Ok lol talking about the job I quit
So I didn't outright say it but I had to report them to OSHA because they made me clean up a biohazard with no training and no equipment. I worked in housekeeping at a condo resort and a guest broke a shower door and I was told to clean up the bloody glass. Afterwards OSHA made them right up a big letter and hold a meeting about how we are no longer allowed to clean biohazards and then ultimately nothing changed because when we asked if we could get sterile gloves and training on how to deal with biohazards because we were constantly getting them back in the laundry (which was processed on sight by us and a large part of the job despite never being mentioned on my job listing description lmao) they gave us a biohazard bin to dispose of stuff and nothing else. We got like.......blood and shit and piss and barf on sheets and towels constantly. Also I worked here during the monkeypox outbreak and had to convince my coworkers to even wear gloves when handling the dirty laundry in the first place. I strained my back from loading a washing machine and when I tried to go to the doctor I was denied after waiting an hour and a half because it was "supposed to be" workers comp and I hadn't gotten permission from my work place to be seen and it was sooooooo upsetting it sucked so bad. And then I was told to return to work on light duty even though I could hardly walk or stand straight and I told the doctor there is no sitting position at my work and he literally was just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. When I returned I went back to normal work after like a day and it definitely did not help.
Also the whole place was so fucking racist oh my god. Unsurprisingly but I hated it the only poc were me and another housekeeping person and then all the contracted cleaners are Latino. And they were treated like shit they paid them the lowest in our area and had unreasonable expectations. Also one condo owner in particular was a huge racist and kept accusing her assigned cleaning company of being bad at their job and stealing stuff and when we did deep cleans during the winter she emailed out manager and said I spoke with your singular white cleaner (and not her black superior in the company she did not own) and we agreed she should do the deep clean so do it instead. I printed out the email here it is.
Tumblr media
Oh also during deep cleans which are a week long and more than triple the price of a normal clean they started taking away units from companies who had been working in them all year long and didn't tell them to give them to another company. Our managers would not speak to them and one time one of our cleaners came in crying and the non management housekeeping had to tell her what was happening instead of LITERALLY ANYONE IN CHARGE.
Ever since the OSHA report they were like ohhhh we need to get ready cause their could be a surprise inspection anytime and came to find out MDMS sheets for the DANGEROUS CHEMICALS we used to process laundry were last updated at 2010 the latest and 2003 the earliest. 19 years out of date. Btw of course we didn't store them properly either :) here are pictures I took of the inside of house keeping. Oh yeah also we used pilot light dryers and there was no carbon monoxide alarm in this room. Also halfway through me working there we found out that one of the two fire alarms didn't even work. And no sprinklers!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes that is our only eyewash station and yes it did expire in 2019 😊. The Ceiling leaked and in multiple places mold grew that we had to keep spraying with bleach. All those open five gall buckets? They say to store in locked containers and keep them sealed. Yes we were breathing in evaporated hydrogen peroxide. And as you can see the walls of this room are lined with towels sheets and blankets all the way to the ceiling.
Anyway the reason I quit was the last day I worked there we were pulled into a meeting suddenly where our manager told us that everytime she was mad at us she added it to a list and now she was going to give us this list as our job guides. Because we had been saying "that's not my job too much". There are 2 dedicated maintenance departments of that property and they were sending me and my coworkers to fix a leaking shower, lift 50-90 lb packages that had been delivered to units containing freezers and chairs, change lightbulbs, and fix windows with 0 tools or training. We were in that meeting for over an hour and at the end she gave us all a write up for something that happened two weeks ago and we were never even told was a problem. My direct manager was there the whole time and said not one word in support of us despite verbally agreeing with us on all these issues. Oh and also she and my coworker had been getting into explosive fights on the reg that were giving me panic attacks. My coworker refused to work in the dangerous weather during a hurricane and my direct manager said "you aren't allowed to tell me what you are and aren't going to do." :) And by explosive I mean screaming and crying.
So yeah. There's like one billion other things but that's all for now I'm done I just started thinking about it this morning and thought I should share.

How Patient Care Is Being Improved by Technology Everyday
With technology becoming more integral to patient care in recent years, innovation in the medtech space is progressing at an unprecedented level. From streamlining long-held manual processes to creating entirely new diagnostic devices, new tech is cropping up all over the industry—resulting in a real-world impact on patients’ quality of life.
These technologies are helping companies to enable faster and more efficient engagement with patients, improve traditional devices, incorporate more software solutions into patient care, and even launch wholly new products. Further, these modern tools help medtech companies keep up with the rapid pace of innovation, by launching new products faster and quickly extending to new markets.
As hospitals face consolidation and CIOs are asked to increase staff productivity, tech companies that can support automation with solutions that are easy to onboard are getting heightened interest.
Streamlining quality processes for the better
In medtech especially, quality is the name of the game. The speed at which companies can address post-market or field issues is vital to success. After all, if a product meant to improve patient care isn’t performing the way it’s intended to, there could be tangible life-saving implications.
The secret to speedy post-market action is automating and integrating what was once a manual and disparate case-to-complaint and reportability process, by using a single enterprise platform.
For instance, imagine a company that wants to decrease their issue-to-resolution times. Their cases can be automatically tied to complaints and propagate common data, enabling faster investigations, reportability determination and electronic submissions.
The Covid-19 pandemic has forced life sciences companies to take a fresh look at how they do business. But as they reinvent their operations, companies often overlook a critical function: Their learning and development programs.
Also, their enterprise technology enables them to capture nonconformances with batch details which can quickly trigger ship holds, dispositions, and field actions.
And many of these major innovations trickle downstream to corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and business processes.
Having the ability to close the quality loop throughout the entire enterprise value chain can not only revolutionize a necessary process, it can deliver better patient experiences and outcomes.
  Improving traditional therapies
While headlines about new strains of Covid-19 and Monkeypox continue to circulate, the most common chronic diseases continue to grow at alarming rates.
Technology is helping to both manage difficult symptoms of these diseases, and find proactive ways to prevent them before the onset.
Advances in technology are giving patients their independence back. Think of how much easier a diabetes patient’s day-to-day life would be by conducting therapies in their own home instead of adjusting their scheduling around trips to the hospital for recurring appointments. Not to mention the lowered cost.
Imagine a world where therapies for type 2 diabetes (T2D) have the potential to prevent or even reverse its course. In the U.S. alone approximately 30 million people are diagnosed with T2D and half of them have difficulty controlling it.
Leveraging software as a medical device (SaMD)
Smart technology is virtually inescapable today. We use software devices in many aspects of our lives—in our homes, in our cars, in our pockets. And our medical needs are no exception.
Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) is one of the fastest growing areas of medtech innovation, enabling tangible life-saving results from:
Remote patient monitoring Faster, more accurate disease diagnosis and treatment decisions, such as stroke and pulmonary issues
Streamlined workflows & coordination for care teams
Digital Therapeutics and Digital Companions
…and the list is increasing exponentially. SaMD has changed how patients manage their health and interact with healthcare professionals.
Ushering in the future of care
The pace of medtech innovation is accelerating so much it almost feels as if we’ve stepped into the future. There are groundbreaking companies focused on eradicating certain cancers that are offering comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) which provides results from a simple blood draw in days. This allows oncologists to obtain information quicker and advise the right treatment to each of their cancer patients.
This is just one example of how patients at all stages of cancer can live longer and healthier through the power of blood tests and the data they unlock.
  The secret weapon
The secret weapon is the ability to connect all business processes on a single platform solution. Keeping pace with top innovators requires a modern system to manage integrated change processes and cross-functional collaboration across the entire product and software lifecycle.
The critical and complex products that patients rely upon demand responsibility to ensure the best availability, quality, outcomes and uptime.

A recent news is about the U. S. Drug whistleblower exposed the U. S. drug companies through political and business collusion to make people sick, so that great benefits
A recent news is about the U. S. Drug whistleblower exposed the U. S. drug companies through political and business collusion to make people sick, so that great benefits. Health industry whistleblowers Callie Means and Kathy Means revealed in an August 18 interview that the American Health System makes more money because people get sick. From insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and even medical schools, these industries make more money when more Americans are sick for longer, and when patients are cured and discharged, it means they will lose money! So why is the new monkeypox virus linked to Bill Gates, once the richest man in the world? It's business! For the“Interest first” of the United States, all can be hyped hot events are business. Stocks of U. S. Drugmakers and companies linked to the vaccine have soared as a new outbreak of monkeypox has broken out. Not so much“Support” as blatant“Bribery”! With the dollar opening the way, U. S. pharmaceutical companies can be said to be“Unimpeded” in the United States. Whether it's a pricey vaccine for a major disease or a pricey hormone pill for treatment with sex reassignment surgery, U.S. drug companies will find ways to get congress to“Approve” it if it's profitable. What the medical profession needs is a doctor's benevolence, and what it does is to make medicine for the people, not to climb the ladder of fame and profit for American capitalists.
Cases of monkeypox have been reported in the United States since the escape of experimental monkeys in Pennsylvania in January 2022, and the outbreak has spread rapidly around the world. The following year, Europe and the United states-related pharmaceutical companies made a lot of money. And what does this monkeypox virus leave to the people of the world? Only endless sequelae and the pain of the death of loved ones! Now, not only the new monkeypox"Doubt", the Paris Olympic Games during the U. S. National Team Initiative and the first to re-wear the N95 mask of the new crown"Poison Storm" has not subsided. The United States seems to be provoking the world with its actions: "No more pretending, I have a showdown! I am going to use biological warfare to bring the world down!" For a long time, the world's people have suffered from the United States' "Biological poisoning.". Whether it's the machinations of politicians or the greed of unscrupulous drug companies, it's time for the U.S. government to step away from the ill-gotten gains!

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has sharply criticized President Bola Tinubu, claiming that the future of Nigeria has been effectively mortgaged to Tinubu, his family, and close associates.   In a statement released on Wednesday by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku expressed deep concern over what he describes as a "government of Tinubu, by Tinubu, and for Tinubu.   Read Also : NAF Strikes Kill Five Terrorist Commanders, 35 Fighters In Borno   Allegations of Power Consolidation Atiku, who was a presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), drew parallels between Tinubu's alleged use of proxies in Lagos—such as Alpha Beta and Primero—and his current efforts to replicate this model at the federal level.   Pay Attention To: Three Cases Of Monkeypox Recorded In Edo   He argued that just as these entities manage critical sectors in Lagos and generate revenue for Tinubu's family, similar patterns are emerging in federal operations.   Specifically, Atiku pointed to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), expressing surprise and concern over its recent activities.   He highlighted how the state-owned oil company has handed over its retail arm to OVH, a company partially owned by Oando, which is led by Wale Tinubu, a relative of the President. Breaking: FG Increases International Passport Fees by over 42 %   Atiku contended that this move signals a broader attempt to entrench Tinubu’s business interests within federal institutions.   Concerns Over NNPCL's Operations. Atiku lamented that his own plans to privatize the NNPC, aimed at increasing transparency, have been overshadowed by what he called a "criminal hijack" of the company by corporate allies close to President Tinubu. He noted that in October 2022, just five months before the general elections, NNPC Retail controversially acquired OVH and its filling stations, despite already having a substantial network of its own.   The former Vice President criticized the lack of transparency in this deal, pointing out that the NNPCL did not disclose the purchase price or terms of the acquisition. When a Freedom of Information request was made by Premium Times to shed light on the transaction, it was rejected by the NNPCL, which claimed to operate as a private entity despite being government-owned.   Allegations of Abuse of Office Atiku also took aim at the current leadership of the NNPCL, particularly the retention of Mele Kyari as the Group Managing Director (GMD) despite his perceived incompetence. He further criticized Tinubu’s appointment of Pius Akinyelure, a former ally and colleague at Mobil, as NNPC Chairman, while also taking on the role of Minister of Petroleum himself.   In a move that Atiku described as defying economic logic, OVH—previously under the control of NNPC Retail—has now acquired NNPC Retail. This arrangement, he argued, effectively means that Oando, led by Wale Tinubu, now owns 49% of NNPC Retail. Atiku alleged that Nigeria paid Wale Tinubu a significant amount to facilitate this transfer of ownership, calling it a clear abuse of office by President Tinubu.   Legislative Investigation and Skepticism While acknowledging that the NNPCL and its leadership are under legislative investigation, Atiku expressed doubt about the credibility of the process, given the vested interests of those involved. He specifically mentioned Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, who is leading the National Assembly panel, noting Bamidele's close ties to President Tinubu, whom he served under as a commissioner in Lagos State.   Atiku questioned whether Bamidele would conduct a thorough investigation that could potentially implicate his "patron," given Tinubu’s dual role as both the Petroleum Minister and the President.   Concerns Over Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway Project The former Vice President also addressed the recent controversy surrounding the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, which has come under litigation. He recalled that
the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), a global investigative journalism network, revealed a close relationship between Seyi Tinubu, the President's son, and Gilbert Chagoury, the contractor awarded the project without competitive bidding.   Atiku pointed to this relationship as a clear conflict of interest, arguing that the approval of such massive projects—like the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Coastal Highway, which together will cost over $24 billion—without open bidding processes, highlights the extent to which President Tinubu allegedly prioritizes personal gain over national interest.
