End of passion play, crumbling away I'm your source of self-destruction Veins that pump with fear, sucking darkest clear Leading on your death's construction
Taste me, you will see More is all you need Dedicated to How I'm killing you
Come crawling faster Obey your master Your life burns faster Obey your master, master
Master of puppets, I'm pulling your strings Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams Blinded by me, you can't see a thing Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream Master, master Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream Master, master
Needlework the way, never you betray Life of death becoming clearer Pain monopoly, ritual misery Chop your breakfast on a mirror
Taste me, you will see More is all you need Dedicated to How I'm killing you
Come crawling faster Obey your master Your life burns faster Obey your master, master
Master of puppets, I'm pulling your strings Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams Blinded by me, you can't see a thing Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream Master, master Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream Master, master (master)
Where's the dreams that I've been after? (Master, master) You promised only lies (Laughter, laughter) All I hear or see is laughter (Laughter, laughter) Laughing at my cries
Fix me!
Hell is worth all that, natural habitat Just a rhyme without a reason Never-ending maze, drift on numbered days Now your life is out of season
I will occupy I will help you die I will run through you Now I rule you too
Come crawling faster Obey your master Your life burns faster Obey your master, master
Master of puppets, I'm pulling your strings Twisting your mind and smashing your dreams Blinded by me, you can't see a thing Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream Master, master Just call my name, 'cause I'll hear you scream Master, master

Music May 2023 #14: The HU - Mother Nature release: September 2022 genre: Mongolian folk metal
So I know Mother's Day is kind of a mixed bag for a lot of people ... and actually The HU originally released this video earlier this year for Earth Day. So of course I'm doing it for today instead.
It's been awhile since I last wrote about The HU ... okay, it's been years. Like almost three of them. I'm terrible, especially since they've released a whole ass full length album since then, with the deluxe edition of it coming out next month, meaning even more new music.
So if you aren't already familiar with this band, The HU are a Mongolian metal band, with room to argue over exact subtype, but mostly they tend to be labelled as folk metal, due to the use of primarily traditional Mongolian instruments and throat singing techniques. "Mother Nature" feels almost like a lullaby, except the lyrics are aimed at the nameless mother rather than a child, with a soft and gentle rhythm that both is and isn't typical of The HU's style. This isn't their only ballad, but it is in the minority.
As a lyric video, the words on the screen are arguably the most important part and the timing and typesetting on this make it one of the better lyric videos I've seen recently - the CC are a phonetic version of the Mongolian while the hard-coded words are a translation of the lyrics into English, probably as a nod to how much of an international fanbase they've cultivated. The various sceneries shown in the video are taken from all around the world, though given the band's deep pride in their Mongolian heritage, I wouldn't be surprised if the bulk of the land shots are from Mongolia. On the other hand, the exact locations are less important than the natural beauty they present, especially as a video created to celebrate Earth Day.
Rumble of Thunder, the source album for this track, is out now for physical sale via the band and streaming on all major services, with a deluxe edition scheduled for release on June 30th. The HU are going back out on tour next month, starting in Europe for June and July, and while they have two festivals already on their calendar for later in the year here in the US, more dates will likely be announced later.
Want to sponsor a song selection? You sweet angel! For the low, low price of one (1) KoFi, I'll write up the song of your choice. ANY song of your choice. Yes, even that one that's been played to death. Yes, your obscure faves too. Sponsor a current CB for the next open Music Monday slot or sponsor a throwback for a Thursday feature! Suld sometimes pops up on my Spotify recommended lists! Nine Treasures is, of course, my fave. I will have to check the rest out. Thanks!
The hu is the best band actually not because their music is an ingenious mix of traditional Mongolian folk styles and modern metal but because they make a fiddle make a horse noise

(via The HU - Wolf Totem (Official Music Video)
The HU is a Mongolian folk metal band formed in 2016. Incorporating traditional Mongolian instrumentation, including the morin khuur, the tovshuur, and throat singing, the band calls their style of music "hunnu rock", a term inspired by the Xiongnu, an ancient tribal confederation of uncertain origins, known as Hünnü in Mongolia. Some of the band's lyrics include old Mongolian war cries and poetry.

Are there any songs that remind you of a certain sjm charachter?
For me whenever I hear Roar by Katy Perry I think of Feyre. Or when I'm listening to Natural by Imagine Dragons Lidia comes into my mind
Oooo! What a fun question, and those are definitely good choices. I'm one of those people who suddenly forgets every song I've ever heard when I'm asked about music but I've listened to these enough times while drawing to at least remember:
Can You Feel My Heart by Bring Me The Horizon always makes me think of Elain. Just Pretend by Bad Omens makes me think of Azriel.
The English translation of Tabi no Tochuu by Natsumi Kiyoura makes me think of Rowan and Aelin. It's about struggling on alone and then finding someone you can face the world with and looking for a better world together. Most anime songs are, but this one is the Rowan and Aelin one.
I listen to such a weird variety of music though that it's always a surprise and a delight when a song matches up to a character I like.
