Song: Abhi Na Jao Chor Kar- Asha Bosley, Mohd. Rafi
Lyrics in English (translated from Hindi) Please don’t leave yet, my heart isn’t satiated yet, You have just arrived, Just now you have, You have just only arrived, You have spread like the spring, Let the air catch your fragrance, Let my gaze wander a bit, Let this evening fade away, Let my heart steady itself, Let me live for a little while, Let me sip the intoxication, Haven’t said anything yet, Haven’t heard anything yet, Please don’t leave yet, my heart isn’t satiated yet,
P.S. Also is it just me or does Dev Anand look like Taika Waititi

Sonu Nigam Talks About Mohd Rafi's Musical Versatility at IFFI: "He Could Sing Bhajans as if He Were Hindu
At the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, Sonu Nigam paid tribute to the legendary singer Mohd Rafi during a special session titled Asmaan Se Aaya Farishta – A Tribute to Mohd Rafi – The King of Melody. In this heartfelt remembrance, Sonu spoke about Rafi’s unparalleled versatility and how he could seamlessly switch between different musical genres, leaving a lasting impact on Indian cinema.
Sonu shared an intriguing anecdote about Rafi's ability to sing Hindu bhajans with such sincerity that it felt as if he were a devout Hindu. He remarked, "When he sings a bhajan, it feels like a true Hindu is singing. But he was a Muslim, a namaazi (prayerful man). How could he undergo such 'dharam parivartan' in his singing?" Sonu expressed his admiration for how Rafi could transform his voice to perfectly suit the spiritual essence of a bhajan, despite his own religious background.
The tribute also highlighted Rafi's extraordinary range, noting that his voice could adapt to a variety of actors, from the dignified Dilip Kumar and the comedic Johnny Walker to the energetic Rishi Kapoor. Sonu reflected on Rafi’s ability to bring life to every song, regardless of the genre or context, calling him the king of melody.
Mohd Rafi's legacy as a versatile and beloved figure in Indian music continues to inspire generations of artists, and Sonu Nigam’s tribute at IFFI was a testament to the lasting impact of Rafi’s musical genius.

Mausam Hai Aashiqana | Pakeezah (1971) | Meena Kumari | Raaj Kumar | Lata Mangeshkar
Song: Chalte Chalte Yun Hi Koi Movie: Pakeezah (1972) Actor(s): Meena Kumari, Kamal Kapoor Singer(s): Lata Mangeshkar, Mohd Rafi Music: Ghulam Mohammed Lyricist: Kaifi Azmi
About
Some voices are immortal because they are just heavenly and magical. However, if there is one voice which has reshaped not only Hindi film music but also India’s popular culture and enriched our lives, it is none other than the great Lata Mangeshkar. Famously known as ‘The Nightingale of India’, Lata ji always mesmerised us with her magical & melodious voice for more than seven decades. Her singing for the beautiful & talented heroines down the years has added much charisma to their silver screen personalities and success of the movies as well. Her career actually spanned the arc of Hindi cinema, right from India’s independence. In 1989 the ‘Dadasaheb Phalke Award’ was bestowed on her by the Government of India and in 2001 she was honoured with the ‘Bharat Ratna’. She may have left us for her heavenly abode but she will live in our hearts forever. We celebrate her immense contribution with this special channel dedicated to ‘Lata Mangeshkar: The Nightingale of India’.

hey,
this is some kinda introduction post i assume and i’m very foreign to this app.
i’m swasti, and i hate school.
also i’m a “vegetarian” bihari but a lil more than litti chokha, born delhi me hui thi so i’ve always played the delhi wali girlfriend.
aise toh i love music [my fav singers are jagjit singh, mohd. rafi, kishore kumar, lata mangeshkar and many more] i’m very fond of the smiths too and i leave no opportunity to “i love the smiths” someone but sadly i’ve never been replied “sorry?” . i like the beatles, the local train, when chai met toast, the yellow diary, coldplay, prateek kuhad and osho jain.
इंतज़ार है कि किसी दिन मेरा भी दुप्पता किसी अमीर बाप की औलाद के वॉच मैं अटक जाएगा aur प्यार तो उसे होना ही है ।
i change my personality every time i watch a new tv show, it’s not BPD trust me.
waking upto a cup of chai is orgasmic to me.
baaki i don’t know, you can text me i’m nice like dat.

Remembering Ustad #BadeGhulamAliKhan Saab on his 56th death anniversary (25/04/1958). Bade Ghulam amalgamated the best of three traditions into his own Patiala-Kasur style: the Behram Khani elements of Dhrupad, the gyrations of Jaipur, and the behalves (embellishments) of Gwalior. Here is a rare photograph of Mohammed Rafi with Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. What are your favourite Bade Ghulam Ali Khan songs?

Did you know
Yamma Yamma..R.D. Burman was not satisfied with Mohammed Rafi's singing in this song and was planning to re-record it. However, that never happened because Rafi passed away soon after the original recording. It was the only song which R.D. Burman and Rafi sang together.
The January 1980 edition of Stardust magazine stated that when Parveen Babi went to Europe with Kabir Bedi, there was no hope of her returning back to India. The only other actress who had a westernized image who could replace Parveen Babi was Simi Garewal. Ramesh Sippy verbally spoke to Simi Garewal and told her the role was hers. But Parveen Babi returned back to work and Simi was bumped out of the film.
Parveen Babi suffered her first nervous breakdown on the sets of Shaan. When she completed to shoot of the song Pyar Karnewale she got the attack. After this song there is a scene Parveen Babi is in the car, she stops the car, then Amitabh Bachchan sits in the car, this scene was shot when Parveen Babi came back from U.S.and she resumed work by shooting this scene.
