Another week and some more art and writing. Tagged by @mareenavee <3 Tagging @orfeoarte, @thequeenofthewinter, @paraparadigm, @polypolymorph, @snippetsrus, @thana-topsy, @saltymaplesyrup, @tallmatcha, @kookaburra1701, @rosette-dragonborn Yea i have exactly 2 spoons and I'm using one to interact with others. 0 pressure of course but I wrestle with my desire to tag and my anxiety with annoying people :P lol Anyway! First I have some painting! More of that tarty Josh tarting about before kicking Dagoth ass. Playing with embroidery, accessories etc.
It's getting there! :) Writing under the cut.
A snippet from chapter 6 of Serious Mistakes (the Skyrim timeline)...or Josh is relying a little too much on potions to get him from point A to plan E.
“Hey! What are you doing?” Teldryn’s attention snapped back to the guard captain’s sudden change in tone. He watched as the outlander flashed the guard captain another overly sweet smile before dropping down into the tunnels, a larger cloud of ash arising from the impact of her landing.
Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! No! Teldryn chewed on his lip. A light metallic taste filled his mouth, mixing with the familiar, disappointing bitterness of ash. He grimaced, he’d never gotten used to that side effect. He wondered if he ever would.
“Get back up here!” Veleth was crouching over the grate, his voice panicked at the sudden deviation from regulation, “I… I can’t fit down there!” Teldryn waited for a moment, watching as the guard captain floundered, a small voice arose from below, though he couldn’t quite catch what was said. Too far away, too much echo. Teldryn moved himself back into the small alcove beside the cell, a small wooden table and a bookshelf sat by the sloping wall, obscured ever so slightly by the darkness. He leaned against the table and waited as Veleth muttered something under his breath, too low for Teldryn to hear but the tone was clear.
He hadn’t expected this either.
He watched as the guard captain stalked out of the cell, right past Teldryn and back towards the door. Conveniently leaving the cell door wide open. Perfect, that saves him fiddling around with the lock. He waited a few extra moments after he heard the door close. What he needed to do now would blow his cover and remove the effects of the invisibility potion he’d just downed. He needed to be absolutely sure he was alone.
He counted to three and exhaled slowly, taking off his helm and placing it on the table beside him. A cold sensation overcame him as the cloaking effects of the invisibility potion nullified. A stupid side effect really. Teldryn thought for a moment. He had one shot at this and he couldn’t afford to mess this up. He ran his modified plan over in his head one last time, staring at a small, dusty vial sitting on the shelf before him. Hang on! Teldryn reached for the vial and rubbed off some of the dust, revealing the pale, blue liquid that the vial contained.
Maybe he should start praying to Lady Luck instead. She seemed to be the only one listening. An interesting turn of events but Teldryn decided he’d embrace it. How often do you find magicka potions lying around Raven Rock after all? By the gods! Did he need this small win! He downed the entire vial; the bitter taste of ash coated his tongue as the pain in his head subsided slightly. It was weak but better than what he’d been working with earlier. Which was absolutely nothing. He summoned a small flame for a moment, felt the energy whirl around his fingertips as he allowed the magicka fuelling the tiny inferno to dissipate. It was more than he felt right asking for. He wouldn’t waste it.
It was time to finish this!

Modyn and Geldis at the Netch.
Geldis Sadri: "Captain Veleth! Good to see you again. What can I get you?"
Captain Veleth: "How about a hundred Dunmer armed to the teeth?"
Geldis Sadri: "I'm afraid we're completely out of them at the moment. Sounds like you've had a rough day."
Captain Veleth: "There's no reason to bourdon [sic]you with my troubles. How about I just settle for some mazte and we'll forget I mentioned it."

Nerevarine on Solsthiem Part 2
Content: Female Nerevarine visits Solsthiem after 200 years mia, discontinued
Start | Next
Warning: none
Word Count: 2.3k
--Morvayn Manner
Lleril Morvayn was 212 years old. He was one of the older mer within the community and one of the few that has lived through the eruption of Red Mountain and the Oblivian crisis. But he was by no means considered an elder. That honor went to Othreloth, who was over 400, or even to the Master Telvanni wizard occupying the East side of the island, who is said to be twice that age. In all his years, he has tried to be a fair and just leader. He strived to live up to his parents' legacy. First his father, whom he had lost when he was just a boy, and now to his mother, who has passed on the title of Councilor of Raven Rock.
Yet with all that he had accomplished, as a warrior and as a leader. What has it amount to? As he staired at the financial reports that piled on top his desk. He felt like he was drowning. He wanted to build this settlement the way his mother had always dreamed of, yet year by year, prospects have only gotten worst. He couldn't hold off the decision for much longer, either abandon Raven Rock like the Imperials had or starve.
"You're ruminating again," said a voice from behind him.
He turned, only now noticing the woman at the door. "Cindiri, how long have you been standing there?"
"Long enough to know that you have not left that chair since last night."
He was going to say that it was necessary, but the look she gave him changed his mind, "Nothing escapes you," he conceded.
"First let me get you some tea. Then head to the Council room. There is guest that Adril wants you to meet."
That was interesting. He was aware of the ship that docked this morning. But it didn't usually warrant his immediate attention. "Do you know anything about our guest."
"No, only that she is a Dunmer that hails from Cyrodiil. But there is something about her that seems familiar. I just can't quite place the feeling."
"Nothing more," he asked tea in hand. The faint smell of mountain flowers filled the air.
Cindiri laughed, "No, my husband has yet to say a word either, only that he insists that you come meet her personally. I don't think I have ever seen him at a loss for words." She poured milk into the cup. "There, now off you go. Even Captain Veleth is getting unnerved by this whole ordeal."
"Modyn is there too?" Morvayn asked.
"My husband insisted." She shoed him along.
As he made his way through the manor, everything about this situation seemed odd. An unnamed outlander on his doorstep. Adril at a loss for words. The insistence of both he and Modyn be present. Just who was this stranger?
He wasn't sure what he expected when he rounded the corner of the council room, but it was not this. Adril was sitting across from a Dunmer woman glaring at her. There was nothing remarkable about the woman. She was shorter than most and her auburn hair tied back. It was strange how she let long thick bangs cover her right face completely. Otherwise, she looked to be a normal mer if not for the uncomfortable expression from Adril's intense gaze.
The Captain of the Guard, Modyn Veleth was at the doorway arms crossed. He seemed to notice him first. "Glad your finally here, you ought to read this," he said handing him a letter.
Lleril examined the seal. To his surprise, it was from Vorvur Serethi. Serethi was a renown general and was a major influence within the capitol. Their families held close ties. Vorvur would always care for him when he was younger. Lleril had come to look up to the man like an older brother. He slowly read the contents of the letter. The situation had finally dawned on him. He looked up to the woman sitting uncomfortably, not quite believing his eyes.
Adril coughed, "Good, Councilor Morvayn, this is Asoka of Tel Uverith. She has offered her service to serve as bodyguard. If we should believe in the Councilor, this is the Nerevarine."
He bowed, albeit, not as gracefully as he intended, "It is an honor, Grand Hortator and Nerevarine."
The Nerevarine stood up and returned the bow, "No the honor is mine. And there is no need for titles. My name is Ralse Reyranni now. A travelling scholar and Dwemer enthusiast."
Morvayn sat down, still not sure what to think. "I apologize, this is all so quite unexpected. Are you truly here to offer your aid?" he asked, he almost hated how desperate he sounded. This might be the last chance he got to save this town.
"I am, and on behalf of Councilor Serethi, I am at your service," she said placing hand over heart. Morvayn, for the first time saw the fabled Ring of Moon and Star. If worn, it is said that it would kill anyone except the chosen champion.
Adril stopped his thoughts when he cut in, "With all due respect, Serjo Reyranni, I find it hard to believe that you have traveled all this way simply because the councilor had asked you to. If you already know of the hardships that we face, then you must know that we have nothing to offer in return. What do you have to gained from all of this?" he asked.
Morvayn silently applauded his second. He was so awestruck that he forgot to think about the overall situation.
"There are three reasons why I came." She answered without skipping a beat. "One, Vorvur Serethi was one of my best friends during my time on Vvardenfell. Upon hearing news that Councilor Morvayn was marked for death, he was distraught. This is a favor that he had asked of me, and I don't intend to back out of my promise."
She looked at him and Morvayn gulped. It wasn't often he was intimidated by another, but the intensity of her eye caught him off guard. "Two," she continued slightly softer, "I genuinely care about your safety. You may not remember but we use to play together in Ald'rhun when I was working as a blacksmiths apprentice."
He blinked. Memories flooding back to him. After his father's death, his mother had taken on his father's political responsibilities. She was away for most of the time. One day, an outlander found him crying and he thought the way she spoke was so silly, she had made him laugh. "That was you?" he asked incredulously.
His advisor was equally surprised, "I wasn't aware that you had met the Nerevarine," said Arano quietly.
Morvayn stroked his beard in thought, "I was less than 10 years old. All memories of that time are hazy at best."
She smiled sweetly, "I am surprised you remember anything at all, you were so cute when you were little."
His face lit in a lighter hew. Thankfully Arano interrupted, "We get the picture, what was your third reason?"
"Simply put, I was curious. Like I said before, I am a road scholar now. I make a living by exploring Dwemer ruins. I saw this as an opportunity to see the island again."
Arano huffed, "Why is this the first time I am hearing about this. There are no records of the Nerevarine visiting this island."
"It was from before Red Mountain erupted. Last time I been here, Fort Frostmoon was the port of entry. Any record of my presents probably got wiped out with that Fort"
Arano shook his head, arms still folded, “That may be true, and I wish I can believe you. But how do I know you are not lying?"
Ralse just sighed, “Is it so hard to believe that I just want to help? Vorvur's seal should be proof enough that I come with no ill will. If you don’t want me here, that is your prerogative. I will leave the island tomorrow with the ship."
For the first time Captain Veleth spoke up, all eyes on him, "I for one would welcome the help, Serjo Reyranni. I served under Councilor Serethi for a number of years. Regardless of your reasons for coming here, I trust that man with my life. If he says your here to help, then you won't get an objection from me."
"Captain Veleth," Arano objected, "You can't be serious, we have no way of knowing if what she says is true."
Morvayn placed his on his shoulder, calming his friend, "I agree with Modyn on this. Besides, this an opportunity we cannot pass up. The Serethi's have supported my family for generations. Though I don't always agree with Vorvur's methods, I trust his judgment as well."
Arano nodded, "Very well, it seems that I am outvoted in the matter. If you are truly here to help, we would be in your debt." The second councilor had his doubts but there was no denying that this might be the break they were looking for. "First and formost, our priority is to protect Councilor Morvayn." he said.
The Redoran leader nodded soberly, "Yes, due to a decision I made 100 odd years ago, I have been marked for death by members of House Hlallu."
"Why house Hlallu?" she asked.
Captain Veleth explained, "A mer by the name Vilur Ulen had lead a coup against Councilor Morvayn. He was wealthy and well respected amongst the community. His father, Valin, was the first Dunmer to settle in Raven Rock when the Imperials had abandoned it. He was a good man, better than most. His family provided funds to build an ancestral tomb for him upon his death. When his son led the coup, me and my men were able to stop it from escalating but I," he paused, "I had failed Councilor Morvayn."
"No, you did all that you can. Many more lives would have been lost if not for you." Morvayn turned back to the Nerevarine, "My wife was killed in that revolt. In a rash decision, I ordered for the execution of Vilur."
His advisor spoke up, "It was justice served. That revolt costed the lives of many and undermined your authority as leader."
Morvayn looked down at his hands, "Was it? Well, it doesn't matter now. It seems that my decision had finally caught up to me."
The girl took his hands into hers, "I am sorry for your loss," she said quietly.
Morvayn blinked at her, "Thank you."
She nodded, before retracting, turning back to the second councilor, "Do you know if these Hlallu infiltrated the town."
"Only rumors, it could be anyone," sighed Arano.
She tapped her chin. "That's concerning, it will make it harder to run interference."
"Ai," agreed the captain. "With the ash spawn threat on the rise, I barely have enough men to spare."
"Ash spawn?" Ralse asked.
He scratched his head, "Right, there are none on the mainland. All we know is that these things are like the walking dead, made from the ash of red mountain. Weapons barely have any effect on them, and they hit like a brick. The only way to kill them, is to destroy their glowing hearts encased incased in stone."
Ralse instinctively touched her chest, "Glowing hearts incased in stone."
"What was that? You were mumbling." Arano asked.
She shook her head, "So these Ash Spawn are a serious threat."
"We lost more than two dozen men in the last two years alone." Veleth said, fuming, "I have some of the best soldiers Redoran can offer, but even numbers can overwhelm. If only we can figure out where they are coming from."
The ash spawn as described bore an uncanny resemblance to Corprus beast that plagued Morrowind two centuries ago. She would have to investigate that. "I might be able to help in that regard. I need to gather some materials, but I will be able to make an alert system for the creatures. At the very least, it will ease some pressure for your scouts"
Morvayn stroked his beard carefully, "An alert system?" he questioned.
"Similar to how Dwemer animunculi detect intruders."
Arano gaped, "Is that even possible?"
She smirked, "You're talking to a former Telvanni here."
He crossed his arms, "Yes, with an emphasis on 'former' I presume."
Ralse nodded, "Like I said before, I am no longer the Nerevarine. I forfeit any titles along with it." She continued, gesturing to Morvayn, "If the assassins are among your people, you have two options. Option one: you take me on as a bodyguard. I can guarantee the safety of this household, at the cost of my anonymity and movement."
"Hah, that will strike fear into them." Said Veleth.
"Or make them more desperate." She said quickly, "with option one, if these assailments are not found soon and they are willing to sacrifice innocent lives, it could get dangerous. I am more than capable, but as you said, even numbers can overwhelm."
Morvayn nodded, "And the second option?"
"I stay anonymous. Another outlander looking for adventure. I can investigate the source of the threat without drawing attention to myself." She turned back to Veleth, "I will do what I can to ensure the safety of Morvayn, but the task will continue to rest on you."
"I task me, and my men will gladly except."
"While I would rest easier if you served as bodyguard, I see more merit in option two. So far, we have failed to identify the assassins. Having a new pair of eyes may be what we need." Said Arano.
"I agree, I think an investigation would be the best course of action for now." Said Morvayn.
Ralse nodded. "Just so that we are clear, after I leave this room, I will deny any association with you."
"Prudent decision and I suppose you want us to do the same," said Arano.
She hummed in agreement, "As if this conversation never happened. Don't worry about compensation, I can pave my way just fine. Just point to where I should start."
"In that case, head to the Wretching Netch. Geldis is the owner of the establishment, he will set you up for lodging." Said Arano.

Master Aryon SFW/ NSFW relationship headcannons?? If you do Morrowind stuff... If not, what about Captain Veleth SFW/ NSFW relationship hcs? Really, anything is welcomed for those two. Elf ear sensitivity for them, if prompt needed???
You know, I was planning on getting Morrowind now that it’s backwards compatible with the Xbox One to see what all the fuss was about for Aryon and also to see Neloth again even grumpier but unfortunately right now he’s not on the list. Maybe in future! But for now, have some Modyn Veleth!
SFW
He loves coming home after a long day of guarding and cooking. He doesn't care how tired he is, so long as you help him with things like prep, he doesn't mind.
On that same note, he's a really good cook, too. If you're sick, or just craving, he'll oblige. It's the greatest thing about him working so close to home.
He's extremely protective, and that's exactly why you live where he works; Akatosh save the dragon that messes with the two of you.
NSFW
Out of all the Dunmer in Raven Rock, he loves the foreplay of having his ears nibbled at. Sure fire way to get him going.
His favorite thing on occasional mornings where he wakes up stiff, and not from work, he prefers to just slide between your thighs if you let him.
He's also a huge fan of praising, always telling you how good you are.

Esdren is my newest Bosmer Stealth Archer oc. Felt like writing some angst.
"Why, Esdren? These people trusted you. I trusted you. Why go do a violent thing like killing Mogrul?"
Esdren looked up from his position shackled on his knees, tears welling in his eyes; he was no cold-blooded killer. By his own inclination, or his strong beliefs in the Green Pact; do not kill wastefully. But something inside him broke, just briefly.
"I couldn't take it anymore, Modyn. He was a bully, a nuisance and a plague. How many times did you expect me to listen to him steal from Fethis with his so-called tab? How many times would he threaten anyone in his way, make life a living nightmare, always watching over their shoulders?"
Esdren would never forget the look of horror on Teldryn Sero's face, the look of disdain Adril Arano gave him as he was hauled away, and the pure confusion on Modyn Veleth's features as Esdren gave up immediately after putting an arrow through Mogrul's skull. He even recalled Aphia Velothi crying out "Why? Gods, why?!".
Modyn sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose between his fingers.
"You'll serve ten days in jail, no execution. To be honest, you've done something I've had fleeting, dark thoughts of doing myself, but I never had the authority to act. Now, I can't save your reputation with the rest of the town, but just know you're still an honorable mer in my eyes."
Esdren bowed his head, the tears finally escaping and dropping to the floor.
"Thank you, my dear friend. Thank you."

SKYRIM OCS ASKS!
Please pick three or four of your favorites on here and ask Hlas to answer them in his voice. :>
Ah yes Seryn Hlas, great trainee to the Redoran guard. Best known for being the victim of identity theft whilst on his own bender. Now he follows the guy who did it around like a lost puppy. He thinks he can learn things from him, he's putting his trust in the wrong guy. This guy is answering your questions on a province he's only heard about from sailors at the Netch, the chick that arrived with them and his very, very reluctant mentor's highly exaggerated stories. 9. Do they believe in snow/sky whales?
*Chewing on a piece of scrib jerky.* What's that meant to be? Some sort of fish? Imagine that, flying fish! Hairy Nords, giant hairy people with giant hairy guar and flying fucking fish! And people actually live there? S'wits are not ok. 14. Who is their mentor? Who do they go to most for lessons?
It's meant to be Modyn Veleth, he's my boss after all but I haven't learnt shit from him! Nothing fun anyway. If you want to be up before sunrise every day and run drills to protect a crumbling backwater of a town with zero prospects outside a single mine...he's your guy. I just haven't gotten much out of it. You ever talk to that guy at the Netch who's dressed entirely in chitin? Now that guy could teach you a thing or two. Bought me four rounds and taught me this.
*summons a flame atronoch the size of a child's doll, it floats in stasis before a loud crack reverberates throughout the room, the tiny daedra disintegrates into magical ash.* Pretty cool right! Now if only I could make it bigger! Might ask him about that. 20. Can they read? Yes...who said I couldn't? Was it Savel? I tell you who can't read? That s'wit!

The Watcher of Blacklight
Teldryn attached the sap to his belt with a sigh, ran a hand over his unfortunately shaved head, and left the office.
“Ah, and this must be our representative from the Blacklight guard.” Lleril Morvayn smiled. “Just in time...for the most part.”
The gathered elves turned to look at Teldryn, along with the Redguard who'd stalled for him. A mature black-haired woman stood beside Morvayn, in similar noble clothing. The two guards closest to him wore no helmets: a tall, severe-looking mer, with a dark goatee and a head even balder than Teldryn’s own, and a shorter and younger mer with laugh lines etched into his cheerful face. His hair was gold-kanet yellow and fell down to his shoulders.
“Captain Modyn Veleth,” the first elf offered. “I’m the commander of Councilor Morvayn’s personal guard. This is my second, Galdres Aundae.”
“Teldryn Sero,” Teldryn drawled, and executed a perfect bow. “The finest Redoran Guard in the city, at your service. You’ll be well-protected here, Councilor, be assured of that. I’ve never come across an assassin that could get past my blades.”
The Redguard woman looked unimpressed. “Met many assassins?”
Morvayn spoke, “Three blessings, Teldryn. I have full faith in the abilities of the Redoran Guard, of course. I’d like to introduce you to Anora al-Sentinel, a private mercenary that’ll be working with us to find out who's trying to have me killed.”
Teldryn studied her closely. “Hold on just a moment. You’re that minstrel I saved at Dovoroth’s Bounty. The dazed lute player. What in Oblivion are you doing here?”
“Didn’t save me. Wasn’t a lute.” She tapped her staff on the dock. “Here to protect Morvayn.”
Veleth interrupted, “Considering the nature of the threats we’ve received, the Councilor and I thought it best to contract some outside assistance. All will be explained once we’re settled in the Rootspire.”
Anora raised her brow. “Satisfied?”
The mer next to Morvayn seemed to notice them all for the first time. Her eyes looked past Teldryn to the walls and towers of the city.
"Oh, Lleril," she said with a sigh. "How I wish Adril could have come with us. Who knows when we'll next visit Blacklight?"
"Our capable Second Councilor remains in Raven Rock, attending to the needs of the town," Morvayn explained. "This is Cindiri Arano, his wife."
Teldryn bent to kiss her hand. "It's truly an honor. You've been to our beautiful city before, my lady?"
"Adril and I lived in Blacklight for a few of your lifetimes." She drew her hand back and pursed her lips. "The Council has sent a child to protect you, Lleril. I told you they wouldn't take us seriously. He's not even got a sword."
Teldryn stiffened, and wasn't quick enough to banish the hurt from his face. Need a blighted mask. Anora watched him, something like curiosity in her expression.
Galdres stepped forward next to Teldryn and wrapped an arm around his shoulder. "Come now, friends. Let's not throw young Sero in the Inner Sea before even seeing what he can do."
"Aye," Veleth agreed. "But enough talk. This harbor is too exposed, and I don't care to think about how easily one could eavesdrop from under this dock. Onwards, to the Rootspire."
Teldryn got some sort of hold on himself. "Of course." He nodded towards the canal on the other side of the docks, where fishermer sat watching their lines and children peered down into the murky waters. "Gondolier would be the quickest way. Quick past Old Stone, slow through Manor, and then it's just a short walk to the citadel."

Skyrim - Teldryn Sero (part 1)
I had just gotten off the boat and I hired a carriage to take me from Windhelm to Markarth. I was to see my Brother, Endon and his wife, Kerah. They needed my help with something but wouldn’t say what, said that they didn’t want to put it in the letter and that I should just get to Skyrim as soon as I could. Apparently, it was a task that required my special skills and that they could not afford to hire someone. Never mind the fact that my sister-in-law would probably not trust anyone else to take on the task, no matter how much my brother paid them. This favour better be worth my time. I arrived at Markarth stables a few days later. As I made my way to my brother’s house, I past a guard who commented on my armour. “Ebony armor, by Ysmir, tis a wondrous sight...” I must admit, I am very proud of my Ebony armour. It was specially made for me by a legendary blacksmith from Hammerfell after I had rescued his daughter from a group of bandits. He also made matching weapons, along with a shield. It really helped, getting those weapons and armour free of charge. I make a fair amount of money but nowhere near enough to be able to pay for gear this good. A full set of legendary ebony armour also helps to intimidate my foes, and the fact that I’m a woman means that they under estimate me, which is a big mistake. I am one of the best swordsmen, or rather swordswomen, to come out of Hammerfell and I’ve found that mercenary work suits me well. I knocked on my brother’s door and waited. After a while, he opened up. “Sister! I‘m glad you got here safely. You didn’t run into any Forsworn did you?” He opened his arms to give me a hug. “Surprisingly, no. How are you brother?” I asked as we parted. “Good. You must be tired and hungry. Inside, quickly. The streets of Markarth aren’t safe at night.” He ushered me inside before closing the door and locking it. I walked further into the house and was greeted by Kerah. “Hello, Amira. Nice to see you again. How are you?” She got up from her seat and gave me a quick hug. “Tired. Hungry. But otherwise well.” I pulled off my helmet and ran my hands through my hair as I took a seat at the table. “So what have you all been doing?” I rested my forearms on the table. “Well, Adara has become quite the silversmith. She helps me make jewelry for her mother sell.” He put a tankard full of mead and a plate of food down in front of me. We spoke while I ate, catching up on each others lives. I heard small footsteps coming from the bedrooms. A tired looking girl wobbled into the room, rubbing her eyes and yawning. “Sorry, sweetie. Did I wake you?” I said across the table. She saw me and her face lit up. “Amira!” She ran and hopped onto my lap. “Hello Adara, my sweet.” She wrapped her arms around my neck and gave me a good squeeze. “I hear you’ve become quite the silversmith.” “Yeah. It’s lots of fun, I get to hit things with a hammer.” I laughed. “And I’m really good at making rings.” “Well, then. I have a job for you.” I dug into my knapsack and pulled out a flawless diamond. “Here.”I handed her the small gem. “I want you to make a ring and put this in the center.” She hopped off my lap. “I’ll do it right now.” “Excuse me young lady.” Adara stopped in her tracks as her mother put her hands on her hips. “It’s late. You need to get to bed.” “Yes mama.” She trotted over to me and gave me one last hug. “Good night, sweetie.” I patted her head. She disappeared into one of the rooms and her mother then turned to me. “You must be tired too. You can have the extra room.” She led me to one of the empty rooms. “Thank you. For the food as well.” “It’s the least we can do.” I started to make my way into the room. “Amira.” My brother stopped me. “We’ll talk about the job tomorrow.” I nodded and yawned. “Good night sister. Sleep well.” I closed the bedroom door behind me and threw my knapsack down. I stripped off my armour, placing it neatly on the chair at the end of the bed. I put on my nightgown and crawled into bed. I got a good night’s sleep that night, the first in a while. I woke up to a very excited Adara outside my room. “Your aunt is sleeping. She’s had a very long journey and she is probably still tired.” I recognized this to be Kerah. I got out of bed. “I know mama. I’m just so excited!” Adara said. I could practically hear her grinning. “Excited about what?” I said as I opened the door to my room to reveal a bubbly Adara and a frustrated Kerah. “Look! Look! I made your ring! Just like you wanted. I got up extra early this morning to make it!” She handed me the ring. “Wow! Thank you Adara. It’s beautiful!” I admired the shiny object in my hand. “Put it on! Put it on!” “Okay! Okay! Calm down! “I slipped the ring onto my finger. She grabbed my hand and inspected the ring. “It fits perfectly!” she beamed proudly. “You are so pretty Aunt Amira.” She hugged me tightly. “Thanks sweetie. You are too.” She trotted out of the room and I got ready for breakfast. I washed my face and put on regular clothes before heading inside to join them. Once we had finished breakfast, my brother and I took a walk to Understone Keep. “So what’s this job about.” I asked my brother as we walked. “The Jarl has made a very strange request that his own personal blacksmith has to fulfill and he’s asked me for my help.” I was a little confused. “He asked you to help? Then why am I here?” “Err, well, he asked for my help because he heard that my sister is one of the best mercenaries in the business.” I raised an eyebrow at him. “So you brag about me in the local taverns?” “Something like that… Anyway, he hasn’t told me much yet. Said that he wanted to tell you about the job personally.” I nodded and we continued our walk to Understone Keep in comfortable silence. We walked up the many steps and the guards allowed us in without any problems. Endon led me through the great Dwemer building to the blacksmith’s forge. I stepped into the room after Endon and saw a Orc working the forge. He stood up straight and turned to me. He examined me and then turned to Endon. "This is the mercenary?" He said, slightly amused. I decided to stay silent. I'm not much of a talker and I've realised that sometimes staying silent can be intimidating, especially to my weaker, more cowardly foes. So I crossed my arms over my chest and allowed my brother to do all the talking. "Yes. This is my sister, Amira. She's the best mercenary you'll find." My brother placed a hand on my shoulder and gave me a quick smile. "She doesn't look like much." The green skinned orc said to my brother. "Looks can be deceiving." I defended myself. "Fine. Lets get this over with. I am Moth Gro-Bagol. The Jarl has requested a special sword. An legendary sword that once belonged to Red Eagle. The blacksmithing tecniques have improved since then so I will have to temper it. I've decided that the best thing to use would be Ebony. I usually get ebony from a mine in Solstheim, an island off the coast of Morrowind. The mine is in Raven Rock, but for some reason the mine has been closed down. I need you to go there and find out why. Fix it if you can." He walked over to a table, picked up a large coin purse and tossed it to me. "You'll get the rest once you have come back and have completed the job. Once you have reopened the mine, bring back some ore, not ingots. I need it to be in its raw state." I nodded. "And how does one get to Solstheim?" "There is a boat in Windhelm called 'The Northern Maiden'. It can take you to Solstheim." The orc got back to work. I sighed. "I just came from Windhelm." "I thought you were from Hammerfell?" The orc asked. "Yes, but I had been visiting a friend in Vvardenfell when I got my brother's message and left from there." I sighed again. "I should go. I need to prepare." I walked out with my brother in tow. "I'll help you get ready. What will you need?" He asked as he trailed behind me. "Not much. Just supplies, really." "That should be easy enough." We walked out into Markarth and I turned to my brother, handing him a small coin purse, I pointed in the direction of the inn. "I need you to buy food. Only essentials! No ale, mead or wine. I don't need that." I started walking away. "I'm going to the general store. I'll meet you back at your house." We went our separate ways. --------------- I walked into my brother's house and was greeted by a distraught Adara. "Mama said that you leaving!" She whined as she hugged my waist. "Yes sweetie, I have to leave as soon as possible." I stroked her hair. "But you can't leave, you just got here." "I'll be back before you know it." I kissed the top of her head and she let go of me. I walked to my bedroom and removed my clothes, replacing them with my Ebony armour. I packed the rest of my things, including the supplies that I had just bought. It was late morning by the time I was ready to leave. I said my goodbyes and gave Adara an extra long hug. I left my brother's house and walked down to the Markarth city gates. I took a carriage to Windhelm and from there, took a boat to Solstheim. --------------- The journey was long. Sitting and doing nothing for all that time made me feel lazy. As soon as I got to Solstheim, I immediately hopped off the boat and went straight through Raven Rock, looking for a fight. I stumbled across a dark elf in combat for his life with strange, ashen beings at the Attius Farm outside of Raven Rock. He appeared to be outnumbered, and requested that I lend him a helping hand. I jumped at the chance to take on something new. I pulled out my ebony swords and slashed at them. They were tough and difficult to defeat, but eventually they fell, turning into large piles of ash. I approached the Dunmer and he told me his name was Modyn Veleth, Captain of the Redoran Guard. He explained that the ash spawn have been attacking Raven Rock for some time now, and he's been trying to locate their source. His lack of manpower and reluctance to leave the town without a commander are keeping him from finding out more, so he asked for my help. He said that I could help by searching the Attius Farm for clues that might lead me to the ash spawn's source. I searched the ruin of a farm house but found nothing. I saw something glint in the corner of my eye and noticed that it come from the pile of ash left behind by the ash spawn. I sifted through the ash and found numerous gems and ores, along with a note, titled Deceleration of war. I handed my find to Captain Veleth and he read it, a worried expression painted his face as his eyes scanned the words. He said that the note mentions Fort Frostmoth, the ruins of an Imperial fort located southeast of Raven Rock. According to him, the fort's been abandoned ever since the eruption of Red Mountain. He sent me to Fort Frostmoth to kill the author of the note, General Falx Carius, before the town falls prey to his threats. --------------- I've slain General Falx Carius in the ruins of Fort Frostmoth and put an end to any further ash spawn attacking Raven Rock. Captain Veleth was very pleased with my results, and awarded me a bounty in gold. Now it's time to take care of the mine. I needed something to eat, I had no food left after the journey from Skyrim, so I needed more supplies. I found the local tavern/inn and went inside. I walked down the steps to talk to the innkeeper about food and supplies. He sold me what I needed and wished me luck with the mine. I was very unfamiliar with Solstheim and figured that I should probably hire someone as a guide. I asked the innkeeper about any mercenaries in the area. "There's one right upstairs. He hasn't had a patron in a while. I'm sure he would love to help. He's in full chitin armour, you can't miss him." I thanked him and headed upstairs. I looked over my left shoulder to see a figure, in full chitin armour, sitting on a chair near the fire. I walked up to him and stopped in front of him, resting my hand on my hip, I examined him. He looked up and me and leaned back in his chair. "Teldryn Sero, blade for hire. If you have the coin, I'm at your service." He said in a silky voice. I stayed silent and thought for a while. He must've taken my silence as uncertainty because he spoke again. "I've got swords, spells and a few other tricks up my sleeve. You'll find I'm full of surprises. Don't pass up on this opportunity, outlander. I'm worth every coin." I smiled to myself, which he couldn't see because of my helmet, and dropped a coin purse in his lap. He tucked it away and stood up. "Then let's be off!" He said enthusiastically before following me out of the door.
