I see your point and I agree with most of it.

However this fails to touch on a vital part of reality. Because while these strawberries may not be real, they can cause some real emotional distress.

Perhaps the person seeing it has had a choking incident. Maybe they had an allergic reaction back in the day or a severe health scare and digestive problems upon eating them. And while they cannot eat the painting, seeing it will still trigger their trauma, regardless of whether it's a real strawberry or not. Just like people with arachnophobia are terrified of pictures of spiders because (I know, shocking) fear isn't rational.

So no, the person who accidentally walked upon the painting can't just look away. Because seeing it has already triggered them.

Now, should we censor strawberry paintings because of this? Maybe? A warning would certainly be nice. AO3 does this pretty well with tags already, the issue is moreso a problem on other platforms.

But let's keep this in mind and have some empathy for other people, who aren't as unburdened as we are. Thanks.

saying ao3 needs to censor certain content is like saying a museum can't have still life art that includes strawberries because you don't like them.

these are not real strawberries. you do not have to, and in fact cannot, eat them. no one with a strawberry allergy will be harmed by looking at them. no migrant workers were exploited in the picking of these strawberries. there were no questionable farming practices or negative environmental impacts from growing or transporting them.

because - and i cannot stress this enough - they are not real strawberries.

if you don't like strawberries, you don't have to look at the paintings. in fact, you can get a map of the museum that lists what works are in what rooms and just. not go in there. if you see one by mistake, you can look away. just keep walking. there's plenty of other stuff to see.

yes, real strawberries can cause real quantifiable harm to real people.

but again. these are not real strawberries.

you may have whatever feelings you like about strawberries, and so can i. you can draw and write about whatever fruit floats your boat, and so can i, even if that happens to be strawberries. and we can hang our art side by side in the same gallery, provided you understand that my strawberries are not about you (and your kumquats are, shocker, not about me) and that - and this is true - neither are real.

and when the fascists break down the doors and grab all the strawberry paintings and heap them in the street and set them on fire, please know that they are coming for your kumquats next.

so if you want a place where you can show off your beautiful kumquat art safely, you're gonna have to tolerate having some strawberries in the next room.

and that's okay. because the strawberries aren't real.

Okay so I voted on accident and knew that The Captain was winning thanks to a previous Repost I saw-

I just remembered a thought I had a couple days ago early in the morning, and I ask for the input of all who knows both series:

They would have access to all of their respective abilities, weaponry, battle experience, etc, etc

10 years of gathering all of that blood, sweat and tears which I hope to so very lovingly pour all over the pages of a end-of-decade yearbook zine to commemorate an experience just as excruciating as the usual high-school experience. 

So, no matter if you've been here since the beginning, or if you've only very recently jumped face-first into the spiderpool – if you love us, and ask-spiderpool has meant something to you, please leave your mark on ask-spiderpool history. Scribble something sappy with some sparkly gel-pens. Whip out some glittery stickers, and fancy highlighters. Put on your best lipgloss, and leave us a kiss on the page. Anything goes, (but please don't be a dick and draw a dick. Expecting a little bit more originality than that.) Ideally a white or transparent background, but allowances will be made if you're sending in something a little fancier (who am I to stop you?)

If you'd like to submit a fan-comic or a piece of prose, feel free to shoot me a message - I might be shooting around some messages myself – the theme is high-school (cheerleader outfits abound!)

If you can't or don't want to submit an image, there's also an option for short written submissions. Leave us a love note in our locker, and share the love. Address the boys, and they might just respond. (Wade Wilson has lovingly offered to put the whole affair together. I'm putting my trust in him. God help us all.) Keep your notes short and sweet! 150 words max! 

The earlier you send your note in the more likely it is you'll make it onto the page, (I don't know how many of you there'll be!) so get out those crayons and glitter-glue, and let's make a super-baby.

Battle your way through waiters to get Style Points? Talk to the citizens of Kalos, bike circles around Lumiose Tower? Did you hatch eggs for fun before you could even grasp the concept of shiny hunting, you simply hatched and hatched because you liked the pokémon and nothing more? Did you spend all night wondertrading just to see how many people across the world you could connect with, and what interesting pokémon they would give? Did you accidentally stumble across the Lumiose ghost girl prior to knowing she was in the game and nearly cry yourself to sleep that night you were so terrified? Did you cherish the random shinies you’d get through trade, regardless if they were hacked or not? Did you regularly visit Professor Sycamore just because you loved him and wanted to see how he was doing? Did you pummel the Elite Four time and time again not for the money but just to make yourself feel like a real champion and see the victory screen? Did you spend hours wondering who wrote that message on the time tables, waiting for an event that never happened? Did you race another person for a pokémon on the GTS? Did you spend hours making the perfect trainer PR video and constantly jump at the opportunity to show it off to some rando on the PSS? ?
