Hello! You can call me Crispy, or Muno/Mod Muno! I use she/her pronouns. But feel free to call me traditionally masculine words, though, like "dude", "guy", "bro", "king", etc. I post pictures of invertebrates, like insects, arachnids, and mollusks. I'm not so selective with what I call a "bug", so you can find all manner of "creepy crawlies" here. I will tag them as specifically as I can so you can filter out what you might not want to see, so don't worry! I will also tag "trypophobia" on posts with many holes, like wasp nests or egg clusters. I will also tag "swarm" on posts with many bugs in a big cluster. I will tag anything that's not a bug picture as "not a bug", and I will tag text posts as "Mod Muno speaks".

I take pictures of bugs whenever I see them with my phone camera. Sometimes, I also keep bugs as pets. I've been trying to practice at that and become even better. Currently, I have a ground beetle (Scarites subteranneus) named The Beautiful Handsome and Perfect Big Pinchy. Or just Big Pinchy, if you're feeling casual. Everyone say hi!

🐝 Do you like bees? Seeing as how your name and ponysona are bee-based?

OMG, I am. SO glad you asked!!! I LOVE bees, and within the last year or so, bees have become a sort of Hyperfixation/special interest of mine! To the point where, a few months after dating and after seeing how happy i got talking about bees, my boyfriend bought me a book full of bee photography and thus introduced me to the world of Bee books.

I have since bought another book on bees that was more informational, and i plan on buying 4 more when i get the chance to find them online/over time so im not spending 100+ in one sitting (again). I had been intending on going to go to the library to see what books on bees they had for MONTHS and finally got around to it this saturday. I thought it'd be a good jumping off place to get a feel for the options, and be able to feel the books in my hands so I'll know if i'll like buying them. My library had 4, i wrote the titles and authors for all of them, and i've borrowed one to satiate my thirst for bee knowledge.

This interest in bees has also branched out into a more minor interest in Moths and Butterflies, and i've bought two books on them. one is by the same author as the bee book my bf bought me, so its mostly photography with informational blurbs to support, and the other is a literal butterfly and moth identification guide! i havent gotten around to reading much of either book. I've also had a better appreciation for most other bugs too, including but not limited to beetles, ants, and worms. I already had an appreciation and fondness for spiders :] I almost wish i was more interested in ants, but i dont think its gonna happen.

i know a lot about bees, and will be learning more, so feel free to send asks about my bee knowledge to @may-bee-its-just-me , my personal blog.

For now, i leave you with this fun fact - Many different insects have adapted bright yellow and stark black striped patterns that mimic Yellow Jackets (wasps), as a sort of warning against predators that they're either poisonous to consume, or venomous through stings (or both). This is a lot of flying insects like flies and bees.

One fly i saw a video on had an insect that looked identical to a yellow jacket but wasnt one. Apparently, where Bees and Wasps have two sets of wings (Larger forewings, and smaller hind wings that hook onto the forewings so they look like one wing from afar and act as one with twice the strength. All species of Bee have this feature, i assume the same is for Wasps but im not 100% sure), flies only have the larger forewing. The insect shown in the video was called a Hoverfly!

🐝 Bee: What is a video game that you find comforting?

Comforting. That’s not the word I’d use for most of my games I love.

(Why did this piece of shit crash this time, oh no a mesh is missing, I can’t possibly continue playing without looking up at which level this Pokemon learns this move, I’m gonna spend the next 5 hours in char gen, because I need to be absolutely sure what I’ll pick, I need to play with wiki open, so I know which quest way to go, oh god another patch, all my mods will stop working, oh god another patch, all my builds are ruined, oh fuck I missed an achievement.)

I think one of the cutest games (though moderately stressful at some bosses, because I suck lol) is Fantasy Life. I wanted this game for years and when I bought my 3ds it was more or less for Pokemon, but also for this game.

The world is super cute, I can harvest things, and stab things with my dagger and I have a lil kitty and... yeah it’s adorable ok. Running around with my lil witch hat and my black kitty and picking up flowers and mining ore and when you hit the vein just ~right~ with your pickaxe you get a bonus and then you return and play a silly little mini game to wave your dandelion fluff into fabric and sew some clothes with it.

I guess the progression can be a bit dull and/or stressful, depending on playstyle, and also a bit of a grind, but I occasionally boot it up just to run around a map and fill my pockets with bugs, flowers, apples, ore and wood.

This probably fails the assignment spectacularly - everything about this game is heartbreaking AND I haven’t actually played it in YEARS. And I never finished it because I got lost in side quest completing before the last dungeon dhakhsdgaks. But I just like... love it so much? The artstyle is 110% my thing, I love how grim it is, and I really like the world. I sometimes just listen to the soundtrack, and I love the companions (not you Durance). It surely has its flaws, but I sometimes look at its little icon in my library and think “I could install this” and it’s making me happy. I have issues I know.

It was Valentine's Day. The one day full of love and adoration for people's partners, and you had no idea what you and Nagito were going to do. You wanted it to be the best day of your entire relationship with your boyfriend, but you just didn't know how. You put on your nicest black button up, black slacks, and a tie. Your hair was slicked back nicely, and you were cleanly shaven on the face. You had just received a call from your loving boyfriend, being told to come to the park. You, of course, listened and headed to the park in your fancy date night garb, black dress shoes shined to perfection. Once you arrived, your boyfriend gave you a hug, as well as a large bouquet of red and pink roses. Komaeda was dressed pretty nicely as well, reaching for his boyfriend's hand. You gladly took it, and leaned your head on his shoulder, closing your eyes. The moment you opened your eyes, you were in an unknown room. You seemed to be surrounded by light pink and cotton candy blue clouds everywhere you looked. Looking to your side, you didn't see your boyfriend. You stood up fast and looked around, stopping as you saw your boyfriend. The white-haired male smiled softly and let out a small chuckle "Hey... Dance on the clouds with me, Hope...?" he whispered softly to you, tilting his head with a soft and kind smile. You, of course, accepted the request, gently taking your lover's hands, pulling him close, and slow dancing with him. There was no music playing in the background. No, only Nagito's soft humming of y'all's favorite song. "I love you, my hope..." Nagito said softly to his love, receiving an I love you back from yourself. You cut the dance short by pressing your lips to your love's. Anna and Ji-Woon were sitting together inside the cabin of the Red Forest, the cabin Anna used to live in before taken in by the fog. A soft hum left the lips of the huntress, her eyes focused on patching up the popstar sitting next to her. Her mask was lifted, looking at the wound closely to make sure it was okay. While focused, she felt a small tap on her shoulder. Anna looked up to meet Ji-Woon's eyes, only to be met with the man signing something to her. 'So, help any other guys with their wounds after being pallet stunned?' Anna could only let out a laugh at this, putting his hands down to try and get back to work. She found what he said as funny, isn't that what he wanted her to think? Another tap on the arm. Anna, looking up again, tilted her head. She signed back to him. 'What? Was I not supposed to laugh?' Ji-Woon could only chuckle, shaking his head before replying, 'You were supposed to answer' pulling her closer by her hand, he flashed his signature smile. Anna melted at this, shaking her head some at his antics. She only replied with an 'I need to wrap you up', then got back to work, leaving a pouty, yet playful, Ji-Woon sitting in front of her. Anna continued to work, but it wasn't easy. The popstar would play with Anna's hair, kiss her nose, take her hands, any and all little wholesome touches he could give? He would. Anna, flustered, let out a huff and finally gave up, at least for now, all she wanted was to cuddle the brightly colored man beside her. Anna moved fast, pulling him into her lap, nuzzling her head into the crook of his neck, muttering something in Russian along the lines of 'stay here'. She gently rocked the man, eyes closed, humming to the popstar. Ji-Woon did seem to enjoy this. He enjoyed this very much in fact. All he'd wanted was to be held and loved before they have to go into another trial, feeling as though there wouldn't have been enough time to do so if Anna spent all night patching him up. He enjoyed the time he had with her, Anna not wanting to let go. Who cares about a little wound, it could be patched later. Right now, all she worried about was keeping her lover close and safe, right there in her arms. Ji-Woon didn't care about the wound he had gotten from a pallet thrown down on him, hell, he barely felt it, so he didn't want Anna to worry. Anna had a hard time though, it staying in the back of her mind as they sat together. Ji-Woon, noticing the tension, stood and held his hand out to his girlfriend. She stared at it a moment, then to the bandages sat beside her, then back to his hand. His look asked as though he wanted to dance. To what music, you may ask? The sound that always calmed Anna. The sound of the rain's pitter patter outside, and the sound of her humming. Taking the Trickster's hand, the taller woman stood, moving closer to be able to dance. The smile on Ji-Woon's face never left, one moving to Anna's lips as well. They hardly got moments like this, and the Entity knows they'd take in and try and enjoy every moment of this. While dancing to the rain, Anna began to hum her signature lullaby, Ji-Woon joining in after a moment of listening. He had picked up on the song quite easily over how often she sang it, and he found it to be one of the most beautiful sounds to ever reach his ears. More beautiful than the screams he's hear making music, or the grunts of pain survivors let out. It was.. perfect. Ji-Woon couldn't help himself. Seeing his girlfriend de-masked, dancing, a smile on her face was one of his favorite sights to see, and he wanted to savor every second. After a moment, he leaned up, having to pull Anna down some, and lightly kissed her lips. Anna flushed at this but didn't pull away. She leaned in closer, running a hand through Hak's light hair, before resting her forehead against his. Not saying a word, they enjoyed each other's company, falling asleep in each other's arms until the time they were pulled into their next trials.
