My 2024 dramas rating
I wanted to do 10 of these but it turns out that I've only watched 8 of 2024 dramas lol
Rewatched a few of my faves but I'm not rating those.
These will have spoilers. So here goes
1. Flex x Cop 10/10 !!
✅ This drama has a special place in my heart. It's crime, action-hero and it made me fall in love all over again with non-romance drama
✅ Park Ji Hyun as Lee Gang Hyun 🫡. (in another news I'm gonna go look up her latest work) I've only seen her as the annoying 2nd fl before this and she was great in this one. She broke the mold of annoying 2nd fl and is an independent, capable and cool-headed detective
✅ There's no dark past whatsoever. She just loves her job. And she may seem judgemental and prejudiced towards I Soo at first but she learned that I Soo is not just another arrogant chaebol as they work together; it's that he's actually an arrogant, smart, caring and resourceful chaebol lol
✅ Jin I Soo? I love him. Arrogant chaebol with a golden heart who has a clumsy way of showing he's not heartless definitely will have my heart. He's smart, he's funny and he's shameless 100/100 😂
✅ What makes a story much more interesting for me is banters. Yessss banters. Their relationship is fun even w/o romance. They trusted each other, even tho it all started on the wrong feet
✅ Gang Hyun's parents is also a highlight for this drama :))
Second season is coming !!! 🫡🙂↕️📢💕💕💕
Excited!!!
2. Eye Love You 3/10 (dropped)
I'm sorry. I tried to love this.
❌ I do watch jdramas and jmovies but this was just simply wasn't it for me.
❌ I wanted to love it because of Chae Jeong Hyeop, but bulldozer sunshine is not my vibe. I dropped it like halfway thru?
✅ The fl's office is really nice tho. And the fl is really funny, that, I remember well.
The suspension of disbelief simply wouldn't suspend the disbelief for me for this one :||
3. Serendipity's Embrace 6/10
❌ This could've been shorter. There I said it. XD. Yes shorter than 8
✅ I love love Hye Ji, Hong Joo's best friend.
✅Hoo Yeong's uncle was relatable, sad and single,
❌ tho I wish he didn't have that weird first love line thing with Hong Joo's boss too. That was just uncomfortable
❌ And what about Hoo Yeong, you ask? Well..... tbh..... I don't really like broody mls. I'm not a fan of those 'he treats her specially nice because he loves her but to everyone else he's just cold'. I'm not a fan of that because I am an anxiety-driven gal and this trait simply doesn't vibe with me
✅ It's funny that Hong Joo's ex was Kim So Hyun's rival in her previous drama tho (My Lovely Liar) Mr. Yoon Ji On 👀
Which leads me to....
4. Love Next Door 4/10
Ha ha ha hahaha
❌ As you can probably guess from the poster of this drama I used which is of the side character Jeong Mo Eum, I simply couldn't stand the main couple
❌ Actually I did loved the main couple initially. I even defended the ml after the first 4 episodes, but then... I took a step back metaphorically and realized that his behavior and the fl's family behavior grated my teeth so much
❌ They kept nagging at the fl. Everything the fl did was wrong to them. She was not allowed to have her own views or that they didn't want to see things from her perspective
❌ Personally, I've met these kind of people irl and the suspension of disbelief and rose colored glasses couldn't do their jobs for this drama for me
❌ I dislike both the family and the ml until the end. The ml is whiny and entitled. That's it.
I hope she divorces him and run away from the neighborhood in the future lol
✅ Kang Dan Ho and Jung Mo Eum were so cute tho. And as all the other side couples ever, they deserved more screen time and development.
I'm looking forward to future works of Yoon Ji On. He's the reason I started this drama initially lol
5. What Comes After Love 7/10
After the disappointment that was the previous drama, I watched this.
Ok, here's what I learned. I can read melodrama (?) novels, but I need to use 1.25/1.5x speed when I'm watching slow dramas. Is it the adhd? Probably
Anyway
✅ This drama is so pretty. The contrast between the flashbacks when the couple was younger in Japan and the grayer aesthetic in Korea after their breakup is ✨✨✨
✅ I envy Lee Se Young for being able to speak Japanese so well for the drama lol. She really made me believe she spent her younger days in Japan.
✅ i love the side characters at the shop she worked at. The boss? So tall 👀
👀 I'm just surprised the ending implies that they're back together. After all that pain and those sad lingering looks
6. Fangs of Fortune 8/10
I know I was basically rambling about this drama for weeks and therefore you'd think it'd get full marks
Okay
✅ It's a fantastic story.
✅ Costume? 💯 So effin beautiful. So beautiful.
✅ Humor? 💯
✅ Characters? 💯 I love the characters to pieces, you don't even know. This is my Six of Crows cdrama version
✅ OST? 💯
❌ But then it relies sm on dramatics. And tears. Oh so much tears.
❌ And I may also be side eyeing the ending. Some people say it's a good ending, but I will agree to disagree. 🙂↕️
Edit : yes I've watched the extra episode and I don't like it still. Death is a very permanent thing imo lol and while his soul does come back, it's no replacement for the real person to me. I've never liked the death trope.
It's a bit traumatizing tbh lol 😂
7. Family By Choice 9.5/10
Edit :
❌ I'm also dissatisfied with the development of the m/f main ship. I love them, they had the potential to be The OTP for me but then the didn't really get developed, possibly because they were kinda already established before the event of the story, in a way, and so the storyline focused more on ZYC and ZYZ flip flopping relationship....so yh. It's fantasy with a dash of romance
And I went into the drama after seeing cute spoiler scenes of Wen Xiao and ZYZ so yeah... I was on the Train bound for Disappointment Terminal
✅ This drama welcomed me like a loaf of warm bread, blanket and warm chocoa after the pain of FoF
✅ Yoon-sajang is the best dad in kdrama land. He's the president of Good Dads of Kdrama. 💐 💐 🫡
✅ Glad that Kim Sanha's mum was not redeemed at the end. She just backed away after being a complete and utter bitch with no self-awareness. Thank you for not redeeming her.
✅ plsssss I love Hwang in Yeop as this gentle boyfriend 👀🤗
✅ This is such a warm drama, a family drama of the year for me. I know I'll rewatch this a lot
My issues are only that
❌ I need more episodes 😔😔 xD
❌ Kim Sanha's issues didn't really have their own proper build up closure. The focus was too much on Hae Jun's 😔 when Sanha is also one of the main characters. Not to mention Juwon as one of the trio? ://
8. The Story of Pearl Girl 9/10
(my sister is obsessed with both Liu Yuning and Zhang Linghe and tried to get me to watch their dramas; Princess Royal, and My Journey to You and Story of Pearl Girl,
I can't watch another Edward Guo's drama for the time being so I chose Princess Royal which I haven't finished but I'm loving, and The Story of Pearl Girl which I have!)
What is it about cdramas and death of the main lead idek smh
✅ Ik this drama let a lot of people down for some reasons but I'm guessing it didn't let me down partly because I started it after it ended lol. So the binging was great!
✅ I think it fits that it's the story of pearl girl; that is Duanwu, we watch her grow from this hotheaded determined girl into a capable smart businesswoman Su Muzhe
✅ while Zhijing's story began with him being at the top of his game, hunting down the people who killed his family as a merchant, then he learned to love and learned that his actions have consequences to his loved one
✅ It's not his story, but it's the story of the pearl girl, so I guess goodbye was in due time. Poetic or something something
✅ The way they fell in love with Duanwu being the only person who questioned him and then kind of got under his skin. 🤌🏻🤌🏻
✅ I love how Kang Ju implied a couple times that Duanwu was growing more and more like Zhijing; calculating, resourceful, and smart, that by the end I think it's poetic that she becomes the successful businesswoman. Apart from her own very capable brains, she also learned from a lot of people who were basically not very good, who were good to her, and Zhijing himself; the strategist
✅ That 1.9m guy and the 1.6ish gal. Love the height difference 🤌🏻
✅ Kang Ju, the best not third wheel 😆
I was informed that in the novel Zhijing dies and afterwards Duanwu marries Zhang Jinran and they have a child. They didn't go down this route in the drama
And ngl, I quite like the novel ending. Zhang Jinran is a good guy and he's not an annoying 2ndml
Moving on is not a bad thing imo, it simply means the character found love again. It doesn't mean they've forgotten their previous love
And I'm quite partial to the idea that for the drama, Zhijing didn't die, but went on a journey to find an antidote with Kang Ju.
Pls... If they're not gonna straight up show him being buried or stabbed like ZYZ in FoF, I'm not gonna believe that he dies 😆 let me die on this hill.
____________________
I'm currently watching
1. Princess Royal
2. More rewatching of Story of Pearl Girl until the serotonin runs out
3. Brewing Love. Love this! Kim Sejeong! <3
4. I might go look for A Journey to Love next after finishing 1. and 3.
5. Light Shop!! So creepy!! So intriguing!!
If you're wondering why most of these don't have extensive explanation, that's because I have the memory of a mayfly. After some time I only remember the vibe 😀 unless it really gave me a lasting impression

Introduction to Characters:
It will be useful for those who want to get an image of how the characters will look like, so i got referential images for them:
(Yes i did a whole casting for it)
Baek Yujin - Baek Ji Heon
She's the daugther of Chulsoo and Eunseo, the main protagonist of this story as her box will reveal secrets that shouldn't have been known...
Im Hayoung - Lee Na Gyung
A rookie idealistic police detective that always wants to get until the last consequences of any case she's in, even if it doesn't means good things most of the time, she'll be in charge of the case of Yujin along with her "Cap" Jo Kyun Sang.
Yoon Seonwoo - Ahn Dong Goo
He's married to Baek Mijoo, Yujin's sister.
He's the prototype of excellent prosecutor, receiving many awards and being the best paid among all prosecutors in the Nonhyeon-dong Office, in Gangnam, Seoul.
Ahn Jinsoul - Kang Hye Won
Friend of Baek Yujin since they attended to school, she likes Yujin but she prefers to keep it secret and convinces herself that she doesn't likes Yujin and focuses in any other Gangnam rich men.
Baek Chulsoo - Son Jong Hak
Father of Baek Yujin and Mijoo, husband of Kang Eunseo.
He's the president and third generation heir of the Chunhwa Company, a large chaebol that specialises in airlines.
Kang Eunseo - Jin Kyung
Mother of Baek Yujin and Mijoo, wife of Baek Chulsoo.
She's a very prejudiced and arrogant woman. Usually likes to brag about Mijoo's achievements, since for her Yujin is nothing but an "accident" as she ain't as successful as Mijoo.
Used to be an k-pop idol for the 1st generation group "September". (Will be seen in the lore of the story)
Baek Mijoo - Ha Yoon Kyung
Older sister of Baek Yujin and daughter of Baek Chulsoo and Kang Eunseo.
Mijoo is a successful businesswoman that usually would have the best grades in school and would be the best student in every university or master degree she would take.
Even though she doesn't has plans on taking Chunhwa's Company, which is Chulsoo's company, he still keeps the hope his daughter thinks to get it.
She's the favorite daughter of her mom and also is the most loved by her father, and well... of her husband too.
Jung Jihun - Lee Pil Mo
Chief Prosecutor of Gangnam District.
Has a really bad mood everytime and usually yells at his juniors, his marriage is about to end and his work situation isn't really better after Yujin's case comes up.
Kim Juhwan - Kim Kwang Gyu
He is the chief judge of the Seoul court.
Lee Haneul - Lee Da Hee
She's the attorney of the Ahn Family.
She studied abroad half of her life, featuring the top universities in Korea and the USA.

Mother of Ahn Jinsoul. Married to a private husband which is rumoured to be a millionaire foreigner.
Used to be an actress during the first eras of korean cinema.
Priest - Shin Jung Keun

Day6
Baek Yujin's favourite band, might appear in concerts or in a reference to some of their songs which are crucial to understand some scenes.
AKMU & Blue.D/MINO
Same case as Day6, but being even more referenced due to specific songs:
AKMU: Fish in the Water
Blue.D/MINO: Nobody
As this story is developing, some other characters might be added, so keep tuned to this story!

Sorry if you've been asked this a million times, but who are your favorite couples from the last couple years?
Congratulations Anon! This ask is AMAZING and I've never been asked it before! Shocking right?? :P
My favorite K-Drama Couples 2023- Spring 2024
NOTE: I tried to include 2022 but my list got too long :)
Moving (Bong-Seok & Hee-Soo, Joo-Won & Hye-Won & Doo-Shik & Mi-Hyun): It's very obvious by this list how much I love this drama and how many blorbo-from-my-shows it created for me. And I know I'm only reviewing couples, but I was blown away by this drama. I don't even LIKE superhero shows, but I made an exception for this one and I'm so glad I did. If you like character development and plays on good vs. evil, I highly rec this! Bong-Seok and Hee-Soo are one of my favorite couples EVER and I loved the softness and epic romance of Joo-Won & Hye-Won. (And we all know that scene at the rainy window with Bong-Seok and Hee-Soo). These couples are really EVERYTHING.
Tale of the Nine Tailed: 1938 (Lee-rang & Yeo-Hee): This is the only time I've ever watched a season two and liked it better than season one. It's probably because it featured my favorite tragic half fox Lee Rang and gave him a love line with a mermaid. The two are SO sweet together---SOB!
Tell me That You Love Me (Mo-Eun & Jin-Woo): Wow. Maybe one of the softest couples I've ever seen in existence. Just watching them together was like a warm blanket in front of a cozy fireplace. I didn't like the ending choice which is a shame, but the drama was super well done and I still think people should watch it. There is also a very cute high school couple too!
The Eighth Sense (Jae-Won & Ji Hyun): not to be dramatic (just kidding!) this is the best bl kdrama I've ever seen. Literally this is it! I don't even want to tell you about the couple because I want you to just watch it! I'm dying for the writer to make another one because we need more queer media like this one!
Crash Course In Romance (Haeng-Seon & Chi-Yeol): Give me a noona romance featuring a man who has not felt warmth in 1000 years (ok not literally but this dude needs to have a warm meal made by an amazing lady!) This drama fell apart at the end (this seems to be a theme this year) but the couple makes it worth watching.
King The Land (Gu-Won & Sa-Rang): If you're looking for a low stakes, totally fluffy, rom com with TONS of chemistry (featuring MY BIAS!), King the Land is for you. Amazing skinship, kisses and just like a really fun duo to watch. Plot? Not so much but there are a billion good moments-- just look at the tags: They are full of cuteness.
Love After Divorce Season 4 (Benita & Jerome): Listen, I know I'm cheating by putting a reality tv show on this list but if you're in the mood for one, I highly recommend this season (it's on Netflix). Benita and Jerome will steal your heart and they are still together! I'm rooting for them. <3
See you in my 19th Life (Ji-Eum & Seo-Ha, Da-Hoon & Cho-Won): My bias Shin Hye Sun kills it in this drama featuring past life romance. Honestly it's not fair because this drama is totally my vibe so I'm obviously going to love the mains. But when a drama gives you more than one love line and they are both interesting and lovely?? Chef's Kiss!
Dr. Slump (Jeong-Woo & Ha-Neul): This drama TOTALLY fell apart at the end and left us all very disappointed, but that's not because our leads weren't a perfect couple! They bonded over mental illness and even took their meds together. Communication: check. Comfort/Healing: check. Chemistry: check!
The Story of Park's Marriage Contract (Yun-Woo & Tae-Ha). You probably don't know this but I've been following Bae In Hyuk's career since we was in silly little web dramas. Seeing him as a lead is really wild! To be fair, he's not nearly the actor that Lee Se Young is, but do we care about that when there's a time slip romance drama featuring a historical lady who's been thrown into the future and has to fake marry someone who looks just like her de*d husband for reasons??
Thank you so much for this ask - it was super fun!! Maybe I should do 2022 next?? :D

EPISODE 15 AND YOON EUN-SEONG IS STILL A FUCKING BITCH
📍I delayed watching this episode and even spoiled myself because I knew that Eun-seong pretending to be Hae-in's man 🤮 will make my blood boil. It did...as always, but I just find it very funny that he would go as far as twisting the truth but wouldn't pay attention to the smallest of details. Up until now, he still underestimates Hae-in and her capability to notice even the smallest things. I'll still hold on to my prediction about his fate however.
📍I just love that the people around Baek Hyun-woo really rallied and worked together to help him clear his name and ultimately get out of prison 🥹 But the best part was Mama Hong offering support to Mama Baek by holding her hand was just heartwarming during the trial scene--THEY REALLY ARE BESTIES NOW.
📍Aunt Beom-ja's confession scene reminded me of Kang Mo-yeon's (Song Hye Kyo) confession being heard by everyone in Descendants of the Sun and it was freaking hilarious, Soo-cheol teasing his aunt made it funnier.
📍It kills me that Secretary Na could have divulged everything to Hae-in in a snap, but then again I couldn't blame her. If Eun-seong finds out that she broke the NDA she would have lost her job and got sued, and she doesn't have the money and status for that. I do however like that she just went with the flow with Hae-in stalking Hyun-woo and let her discover the truth herself.
📍HONG SOO-CHEOL IS A BABY NO MORE!!! He really did take his lessons seriously and his hard work finally paid off. This just means that he doesn't have to hide under mommy's skirt to protect his family, he's perfectly capable of doing that.
📍Hae-in making sure that there will be something for her to remember Hyun-woo is EVERYTHING!!! Even if she was mean to him at first, she really found ways to remind herself who the love of her life was...and the universe turned to her favor.
📍It's no surprise that Eun-seong would attempt to kill Hyun-woo because he's obsessed with Hae-in, but I feel like the guy who "pulled" Hae-in out was someone from BaekHong's side. Perhaps the people Papa Hong hired to follow Hae-in around?
📍*SIGH* I can't believe that there is only one episode left and BaekHong's story will be finally put to an end. I still hope that this is going to be a happy ending but seeing the teaser for the finale, I'm kinda having doubts. I will probably stop watching Park Ji-eun's shows for a long time if this doesn't end the way we all hope to. I'm waiting for the final episode but my final commentary will most likely be posted tomorrow, so let's see if I'd cry of happiness, or ugly cry while writing a long-ass rant.

CoD Zombies Main Oc Face Claims (Ultimis and Primis)
Here are some face claims that I have in mind that really made me took a lot of time of decision making and surfing through the hells of Google just to make my ocs have their own face claims. This is a slightly long thread but not very time consuming to read to give you all some slack.
Liza Soberano for Valena Villanueva
This really took me some time to choose which would fit Val as I have some other candidates like Erich Gonzalez, Janella Salvador, Charlie Dizon, Sofia Andres, Kylie Padilla, Janine Gutierez, Maja Salvador, and Arci Muñoz. I chose Liza because the way she smiles made me take some notes of how Lena smiles considering she is the sunshine of the crew. But she can also be serious and fierce which fits for Licia as well.
Jeon Yeo-been for Gong Ji Eun
I haven't watched Vincenzo before but it was on my watchlist just in case I ever feel like watching it during my free time. Yeo-been caught my attention from just a single poster as I also have other candidates like Park Min Young, Shin Min Ah, Han So-hee, Park Shin Hye, Kang Mo-yeon, and Shin Ye Eun. The way Jeon Yeo-been looks serious and fierce here brings out a fierce and badassery vibes to it that made me decide to make her the fc of Ji Eun.
Robert Pattinson for Arthur Frensby
Hear me out, I remember watching The Lighthouse back in Summer and I was holding myself not to fangirl in front of my brother because Robert looked so fine with his mustache and stubble together with his messy hair. He was the first person to pop up in my head. Ngl, I also planned to make him as the fc of William Remington who is a Shadows of Evil Oc of mine so I may or may not have Robert as his face claim.
Ed Stoppard as Dragomir Ostrowski
To tell you what, the first option I had was Adrien Brody but I reserved him for Lorenzo from the Salvatorix crew, then I went for Jake Gyllenhaal and Chris Evans but I put them on reserves just in case. Now I chose Ed because I saw a photo of him from the History Channel series Knightfall where he played as King Philip IV in which he has shoulder-lengthed hair that made him become an fc of Dragomir. Tbh, I was really running out of options so I settled down with Ed Stoppard cause I have nothing else to think about an actor to be a fitting fc.

Ji Chang Wook and BIBI’s ‘Not an Easy Scene’ in ‘The Worst of Evil’: How They Pulled Off the Steamy Kiss
Ji Chang Wook, one of the most popular K-drama actors, recently opened up about his challenging kiss scene with singer and actress BIBI in the Disney+ series 'The Worst of Evil’. The action-packed show, which aired its finale episode on October 25, follows the story of a senior police officer who goes undercover as a gangster to infiltrate a notorious crime organization.
Ji Chang Wook’s Role as an Undercover Cop
Ji Chang Wook plays the role of Park Joon Mo, a dedicated and skilled police officer who sacrifices his personal life to take down the ruthless leader of the Gangnam Union, Jung Ki Chul (Wi Ha Joon). To gain the trust of Jung Ki Chul and his associates, Park Joon Mo has to act as his right-hand man and handle various illegal deals and operations.
(Photo : Disney+) One of the challenges that Park Joon Mo faces is dealing with Lee Hae Ryeon, a Korean Chinese businesswoman who is attracted to him and wants to invest in the Gangnam Union. Lee Hae Ryeon is portrayed by BIBI, a rising star in the Korean music industry who made her acting debut in ‘The Worst of Evil’.

He also praised the production team for helping him and BIBI pull off the scene. He said that the filming and editing made the scene look better than he expected. He added: “The filming and editing helped the scene turn out well. I think BIBI did a great job too.”
Ji Chang Wook’s Upcoming Projects After ‘The Worst of Evil’
After wrapping up ‘The Worst of Evil’, Ji Chang Wook is set to star in several new K-dramas in the next few months. He will be paired with Shin Hye Sun in ‘Welcome to Samdalri’, a romance-life drama about a weather forecaster and a veterinarian who live in a rural village.

Moreover, he will lead the historical drama ‘Queen Woo’, which will premiere in 2024. Ji Chang Wook is undoubtedly one of the busiest and most versatile actors in Korea. He has proven his talent and charisma in various genres and roles, from action to comedy to romance. His fans are looking forward to seeing more of his projects in the future. The Uncanny Counter (2020)
All you really need are noodles and comic books. And this show has both!
This show was the break I needed from super serious drama-land. It's got pretty good action, some nice urban fantasy vibes, and a cast that seemed to be having alot of fun with their roles. The premise is a little bonkers, but that's fine too.
What Worked
The cast really made this work. The leads were fun and all had great chemistry together and the villains were just scary, both the human and the supernatural ones. In fact, I think the writing for the villains was better than the heroes, and what kept me hooked on the show.
What Didn't Work
There weren't any real issues with the show, it succeeded at making the kind of show it set out to be, but the writing felt extremely comic book. And not always in a good way. We had a literal Joseph Campbell "hero" arc in the first two episodes. There was a character who was almost, but not quite, fridged in a series with multiple fakeout deaths. There were about 4-5 episodes where you could tell they were filling out time and ran out of story arc.
I'm pointing this out because overall I really enjoyed the show. I just wish it could have been a little bit better. But they're planning on making a second series, and hopefully that will go somewhere good!
The Performances
Jo Byung-gyu as So Mun. Pretty much the title hero of this comic book show, he did an amazing job of selling both the young high school arc and the supernatural / super hero stuff. I can't complain about the acting, though I do have some quibbles with the "chosen one" writing arc. There are very few scenes that are weak, it's just the overall direction they took the character that felt a little cliche.
Yoo Jun-sang as Ga Mo-tak. He plays a former detective who had amnesia after a ten story fall. Seven years later, he's coming back from the dead to seek vengeance on the criminals who stole his life away.
What I'm saying is this role could easily have turned super campy, but the actor made it work really well. I liked his arc better than the main story for the most part (except for the stupid not-quite-fridging).
Kim Se-jeong as Do Ha-na. I've only seen her in Business Proposal and I liked her much better in this role. She had pretty good comic timing in Business Proposal and she plays it almost completely straight here, and again does a good job with a character that has some potential campiness.
Yeom Hye-ran as Choo Mae-ok. I loved this character, but then I play a healer in most of the RPGs I run, so it makes sense. I liked her role in When the Camilla Blooms but it's nice to see her play someone a little less grumpy. (**spoiler**) Her character was a victim of a number of fakeout deaths, which I didn't like, but I think I would have rioted if they killed her, so it's kind of a tough call.
Choi Yoon-young as Kim Jeong-yeong. The actor did a good job making a side character interesting and she had great chemistry with Yoo Jun-sang. They could have done so much more with this character, but (**spoilers**) they killed her off instead. It kind of annoyed me, though they didn't treat the character like a cheap action movie death, which is something.
Ahn Suk Hwan as Chairman Choi. I had fun watching this character and you could tell the actor did too. Not particularly deep or interesting, but very colorful and the show was better when he showed up.
Lee Hong-nae as Ji Chung-sin. This guy played an amazing creepy villain. The writing put the character right on the edge of the line of campy horror, but he kept it from getting ridiculous, and I got literal chills a few times.
Ok Ja-yeon as Baek Hyang-hui. This character was meant to be a little campy, entertaining at times, but campy. And the actress did a good job following the brief. I can't say I enjoyed watching her, but I never got bored.
Choi Kwang-il as Shin Myung-hwi. He starts out as a kind of cardboard villain, but did a good job leaning into the horror elements at the end of the show.
The High School Kids. This is one of the things that the show got really right, tone-wise. The way the bullies took over the school was completely bonkers, and there were no adults anywhere pretty much, but that's kind of how the world feels when you're a teenager. All of the relationships and rivalries feel like these world changing events, and all of the grownups feel a bit like the adults in a Charlie Brown cartoon. The actors all did a great job with this.
The Street Thugs. I liked the rivalries here with Mo-tak. They were campy when they needed to be and scary when they were supposed to be (especially at the start of the series). Mostly they're just mooks, but they're entertaining mooks.
TL; DR:
This show is fun, and scary, and sad when it needs to be, but it's impossible to take seriously, which is why I enjoyed it!
