My Sanctuary (MTMTE Sunder Part 4)
(TW: Needles, Surgery, blood, mind control, yandere, mentions of human experimentation)
"Sunder! Sunder? Are you here?"
The human was panicked and frantic as they looked around their room from their bed. Their heart raced a mile a minute and they shook in their bed. The door opened and the only one who could calm the human walked in.
"Sunder!" A smile returned to the human's face. "Where did you go? You know it hurts me to be without you." Sunder's smile grew wider than it already was and he brought his hand to his human's face to comfort them.
"My dear, I was simply getting us away from those awful decepticons. As long as you are on my ship, you have no need to worry."
Sunder's eyes are the most beautiful and calming thing in the world to his beloved human. Bluer than the ocean and brighter than the sun, they were the guiding light in the dark universe.
Sunder and the human stayed in the room talking about whatever came to mind, from where their next date would be to the last bot Sunder ate the memories of. The human didn't care how macabre or scary the things Sunder did were. As long as it was him doing it it didn't matter. He could kill their family in front of them and they wouldn't mind. He just cares for them so much that he had to have a good reason to do what he did.
---------------
It's been 6 months since Sunder used his needles on the human for the second time. They've been on all sorts of lovely adventures. A forest on a foreign planet, where the leaves glowed blue. A field where the flowers were tall enough to reach Sunder's knees. Or just on the ship, watching the stars go by. They didn't talk much. Well Sunder did, but even then it was him mumbling something too quiet to hear.
Today they were at a lake. A lake far away from any civilization, just the human, Sunder, and the water. He sat on the shore with the human next to his head, sound asleep. He loved listening to the sounds they made as they slept and they made him calmer than he had ever been. The voices in his head stopped and his spark was at rest. But even better was when he had been petting them.
Sunder took the human off his shoulder and held them gently in his hand. They barely stirred, shifting around in their sleep. He pet their head, he loved how their hair felt. It was soft and unlike anything that existed on cybertron. He could (and did sometimes) just sit there and pet them for hours as they slept. The human slept so much anyways, far more than a normal human. That was an unavoidable side effect of mnemo surgery on a human.
But his human didn't mind. In fact, they didn't seem to care whatsoever. There was hardly anything that could shake the happiness they had when with their beloved, Sunder. They barely felt anything but happiness now, at least by his side. But when he had to leave it was a whole other story. They cried and cried if he was gone. It was as if he had died when he went out to get someone with memories to eat. He would find them a shaking, crying mess when he returned from his supply runs.
Now that he had the human, Sunder smiled a lot more. Not his 'I'm about to do something creepy' smile. A genuine, heartfelt smile. One that hadn't been seen since before the war. Sunder was truly happy with his beloved in his arms. No more nightmares about them hating him, no more other humans taking them away from him, and no more escaping. The last time they escaped was dreadful, but now they couldn't get far enough without breaking down.
"Sunder?" His beloved looked up at him.
"Yes, my dear?"
"When did we get here?" Ah, memory loss. Not caused by mnemosurgery directly, but an after effect of it. Sunder's precious little human had problems remembering things for longer than a day. It was absolutely adorable, watching them wake up and cling to him as they watched over the unfamiliar landscape. The way they could barely hold their head up sometimes was also to die for, and they did fall over a little bit more than usual was just perfect. A little worrying, but absolutely adorable.
"We've been here for a few days, dear. Would you like to go back home?"
"Yes! I miss our ship."
Sunder slowly got up from his spot on the shore, holding the human tighter so they didn't lose their balance and fall. They had a dreamy look in their eyes, and rested their head on his thumb.
"Sunder, who is Mortilus?" Sunder stopped in his tracks, and his smile turned to a frown. The needles in his hands nearly came out reflexively but he stopped himself before accidentally ruining everything.
"What do you mean, darling?" Mortilus. The death bringer. A bad omen. His tormentor. More than anything, he hoped that his beloved wasn't being tormented too.
"I just heard you mumbling and I saw you twitching while saying that name? Who is he?"
Damn. He thought he had been quiet. Sunder had always had involuntary tics. Sometimes he would twitch, but usually it was because of Mortilus. Sunder knew it was him who was constantly talking in his head, giving him headaches. And more than anything, Sunder didn't want his human to be tormented too.
"Mortilus? Oh my dear, Mortilus is simply a creation of the mind." He wasn't, but Sunder didn't want his beloved to be hurt. "He is nothing for you to worry about now."
"You seemed afraid! I worry my heart out over you after all, I just want you to be okay." Ah, his dear was simply worried about him. That's to be expected when they can't live without him. But, he has to dispel that worry, for safety's sake.
"I'm sorry, angel."
Sunder's needles came out of his fingers and before the human could be afraid, they were already inserted into their brain.
