Lies of P Headcanons

P and Carlo as a twin

(wrote this while almost falling asleep.)

•Carlo is the mischievous kid while P would be the angel however P seems to get always caught up with Carlo's tricks which puts both of them in trouble despite P was only dragged into it involuntarily.

•Carlo loves to steal P's things like his notebook filled with his inside voice, his book, fountain pen and his favorite handkerchief. P would be confused for all items his missing and worries that he might be too careless of his belongings and needs to keep them in check without knowing Carlo steals it behind his back.

•Carlo might be a little overzealous of P being favored by Geppetto even though he knows to himself that Geppetto loves them both equally (unlike in game where Geppetto didn't even think of anything to P and only using him) but he gets quite possessive of his father's attention everytime he sees Geppetto compliments P. It does not happen everytime where Geppetto would get so affection with P since Carlo is with Geppetto more but he fears the idea of falling out of love which will never happen.

•P is aware of Carlo's hostility towards him everytime he gets close with his father or with Carlo's friend so he tends to stay away from Carlo's friends/acquaintance to avoid such situation with his twin. And would spend time with Gemini and Eugene more and sometimes he'd be lucky and be with Sophia all day. He really distant but he will not distant himself from those who are in favor of his company.

•P might be the angel but he gets a little mischievous sometimes too but not too much that will be out of his character. Sometimes he'd write something on Carlo's notebook with a forged handwriting and mess with his twin by writing some funny names and light teases. He will giggle a little by doing so but completely poker face when Carlo's were to react in front of him.

•Carlo might be mischievous but his dead honest. If you want an honest critique wether how you look or how well you have done, his the right one to ask just be prepared of what his gonna say cause he might have a smile of cute kitty, his tongue does have razors but it won't kill you so just hang on tight.

•If Carlo were to be the honest one then of course P will be the liar. He uses white lies most of the time. He does not lie to do I'll intent but rather to avoid conflict and further uprising problem. If he noticed Carlo were to be doing bad and feel down because of it, he will lie and tell him that he likes what his doing and looking forward for him to improve more so that Carlo can be proud of something. Though he might be able to lift your spirits up with his light words however it is still a lie. A white lie. He does not wish to harm with his lies so please do keep that in mind. A little dishonesty cannot hurt.

•Carlo might have been possessive of his own father and steals P's things only to find out himself that he is also possessive of P. Yes he does feel possessive and jealous if his father were to give P a pat on the head but his also the same towards his own father cause he too wishes to give P some attention that's why he often plays tricks with him but too shy to give him a gentle interaction. The reason why he steals P's things is because he thinks that since P is his twin meaning his other half meaning P belongs to him and what P have is also his. A sense of self claim of his own twin. Though his possessiveness do make up to his name however it did not harm anyone nor anybody.

•Carlo had once interrogated Gemini if his twin were to do something bizarre or something out of ordinary or something he would never do in front of anyone else except Gemini. Gemini didn't know what and why would he answer but he did anyways since Carlo seems quick to show his mischievous side and made Gemini worried. He said that P seems to go to a specific spot and take a riddle from the Kings of Riddles machine and enjoys most of it. And because of that Carlo had always been asking what P did for the day or what other things Carlo does not know. Gemini is getting sick of him and wishes the silent twin back.

•P is quite grateful to have Carlo sometimes especially at banquets and parties they were invited in because of their father. P struggled with the crowds and their questions and Carlo would look like a hero to P so he would often stay with Carlo first then if a crowd were to attract he would disappear immediately leaving Carlo in the spotlight only.

Oh the recent developments had Arashi perhaps a little excited, she had to admit. When having heard of it for the first time she was ready to jump, bursting from excitement. Never had she ever even thought about something like this happening. And Leo–Kun had asked her too which was an honor. Of course anyone could rely on big sister! That much was a given! Though that had not made it less surprising that it was Leo–Kun who would ask of aall people… About the matters of the heart.

She honestly had expected anyone from Knights to be first or anyone outside of the unit too. After all, Leo–Kun would not strike anyone easily as the type to concern himself with such matters. Of course she didn’t mean that it was impossible! It was just that his passion lied with music and music alone. So much so that he could become engrossed in it on the spot and forget everything else. But here he had been, asking her.

“ Hey Naru! I need your advice on something! So so there’s this girl I like and I’m not sure how to go about it… No, wait! I am! But there’s something I gotta finish! Can you help me out? I want to hear what you have to think! ”

Of course Arashi herself had jumped at the opportunity pretty much right away and agreed. Yet she had been a little curious… “ Who is the lucky princess you fancy? ” She just couldn’t hold it in, the excitement overcoming her. She had an interest in such topics, more than anyone else probably. She just had to know, in case she knew the person. And it turned out that she did.

“ Oh, right! You know Miss Ghost, right? The translator I mean! Uh… Her name… Uhm… Ah, right, right! Ann–Chan! Yes, her! ”

Well, it had Arashi a little surprised yet it quickly made sense to her. After all, Leo–Kun sure mentioned Ann a lot. Not just that but he seemed to pay her more and more visits on his own. She had even heard that Izumi–Chan had to barge in and drag Leo–Kun away by force or else he would have been late for some work. And everytime Izumi–Chan did the former King of Knights was getting all pouty and refused to say a word for a good few minutes or saying stuff like “ Sena is being a poopyhead again! ” Though it would not last long at the very least.

But it had been this bad… Well, no complaints or anything like that. It was an amusing sight, to see Leo–Kun being like a lovesick puppy! Or kitty cat, that would fit him better, wouldn’t it? It was honestly adorable and Arashi had become beyond curious. She needed answers and she needed them as quickly as possible!

Luckily for her it was not just Leo–Kun and Ritsu–Chan who had gotten closer to the translator. She had also befriended the fellow woman over time, though things had been a little awkward at first. It was due to the language barrier, Ann–Chan herself not being a very fluent Japanese speaker. She was a foreigner. But Arashi didn’t mind. In fact, it was refreshing to have another woman around. Being surrounded by all the guys can be tiring… Of course she was still friends with them, her unit mates in particular, but there are matters which could only be discussed with a fellow woman. There is of course the hard working producer Anzu–Chan yet she was always so busy it was hard to catch her at a good time. But Ann–Chan was also fun to be around. And she seemed to have a little more time too! That or just enter her office to talk. She would not shoot anyone down, or just barely. And that was what Arashi had done.

All she wanted to know was the following – What did Ann–Chan think of Leo–Kun? At least for today. Such a time is exciting after all yet she would also try to comfort Leo–Kun should she shoot him down. It was something Arashi was more than familiar with… Even if she tended to cover it all up so no one would have to worry about a thing, She knew that the love of her own was one sided yet that shouldn’t get her down like that. It didn’t. She was not sitting idle and sulking but decided to enjoy life further. But that was also why she had been curious… Because if poor Leo–Kun was about to face a fate like big sister did then– 

“Huh? What I think of… Leo–San?” Ann hard repeated shortly after Arashi had asked the big question. Though the brunette was only looking at the fellow woman a bit in confusion, her fingers having paused the typing she had been doing earlier and her head had been going a little to the side. “Nice person. And fun too. I like him.”

What a general answer… But hey, at least she had confirmed to like him. That was better than in most instances sometimes. “Good good~ But I meant something… Hmm… More intense~” Arashi decided to hint at it this way, hoping that Ann–Chan would catch on like this but… 

“More intense? For Leo–San? Uhm… Like what?” Did she really have no clue!?

“Aww, don’t act all coy now Ann–Chan. You know what I mean~” The blonde woman continued, leaning a little more forward against the desk, her smile not fading at that moment. “A more intense feeling than like. So so, how about it? You can tell big sis! I promise to not tell anyone either~”

It had the brunette only blink for a few moments before responding: “I do not be getting it. Apologies.”

Oh— Was she being serious right now!? “You haven’t noticed anything?”

“Noticed?”

Arashi nodded. Now she herself had a hard time to guess how Ann–Chan would feel. She had not spotted the brunette around Leo–Kun a lot and honestly she was also not talking so much about him. There were a few mentions here and there yet it usually boiled down to “ Ah, I heard Leo–Kun mention that! ” or “ This is just like the time Leo–Kun did something! ” But she wasn’t swooning over him or anything like that. One would chop it down as no interest whatsoever yet matters of the heart are more complicated than that. There was some fondness there but it was hard to take a guess. It has made this a little difficult… And right now Ann–Chan was just proving a certain level of obliviousness. She really had not caught onto the question.

“Uh… No, nothing. Something… Wrong? With Leo–San I mean.” It had slowly escaped the brunette’s mouth, though only to try finding the right vocabulary. Nothing more than that. Arashi nearly dropped her head in defeat yet she didn’t. Deep breath, it will be fine… Deep breath… Deep breath.

“You’re a bit of an idiot, aren’t you?” She then sighed, having Ann–Chan flinch on the spot.

“Eh!? S… Sorry! I—”

“Alright, let big sister ask you directly… Are you in love with Leo–Kun?”

Though it was that sentence which made the silence kick in all the same, at least for a good moment. None of the two women had said a thing, only staring at each other for the time being. Minutes passed, the ticking of the clock more than audible. That was until Ann–Chan had decided to speak up again, though only repeating the last bit Arashi had just said.

“In Love… With Leo–San?”

Faves:

Rafe. Literally Rafe. He was just so funny and such a little shit and one of my favorite things about the season

Riara!!! I loved their interactions so much and when he was like "I always liked you Kie" I went what is actually happening right now cause 😭

Jiara! They hurt so good tbh. The difficult and angsty scenes between them were needed imo. I knew it wasn't going to be smooth sailing and it was difficult watching the way her parents treated him and basically threw his own fears about him and kie in his face and my God the self sabotage was driving me insane and they kept highlighting the differences in their classes but they were cute

Cleo. Literally just Cleo but especially her and Pope. I was surprised by how much I loved them because it seemed like OBX was like yeah let's put the two leftover black characters together but unfortunately they were right and they were cute. Hashtag black love I guess 😭

Cleo and JJ. Not what you think. Cleo's genuine fascination with JJ was hilarious to watch. It was like every time he opened his mouth she'd look at him like he was the most bizarre and mind stumping creature she'd ever met. Also them being two sides of the same coin and equally chaotic was everything

Ward dying!!! I rejoiced so loud it was embarrassing

John B reuniting with his dad but the buck stops there (see least fave things for more)

Y'all gone hate me for this one but I was actually here for Sarah and Tooper? And I do not know why tbh. Can't even tell you. Definitely don't hate her and John B. I think I just enjoyed the drama of it all.

Rafe and Barry. Loved seeing the murder boyfriend together again.

Just the mere knowledge that Rafe was getting it in. Good for him. Good for Sophia.

Rafe and Rose fighting. That was very hilarious to me. "You missed"

Everyone looked great

That motorcycle thing JJ did that made my Kitty purr

Topper going off the deep end in a jealous rampage

Pope telling Rafe it's not over like yeah. I look forward to round 4

Least fave:

WARD. FUCKING WARD. I wanted him OUTTA THERE from day one. How he managed to be so self righteous while sucking so bad I do not know

The fact that Rafe didn't kill ward. That was highly disappointing but alas

Big John. Just a horrible father. Found myself wishing he'd stayed missing.

They were putting the boys THROUGH it my gawd. Idk if they were like yeah we tortured tf out of Sarah last season so this season let's make it even. I mean Pope finding out Rafe melted the cross? Almost going on a villain arc? JJ having no home and nowhere to go and being treated like shit by Kie's dad? John B almost dying? Being forced to be an accessory to murder? Getting cheated on while literally going through hell? My goodness

The show is TV MA so how tf you're going to show Sophia waking up in Rafe's bed half naked and show Rafe getting dressed but don't show us what went down in said bed. Why am I watching Sarah and John B about to do the so but I can't get a crumb for Rafe?

Really wanted to see Rafe give Sophia that tour. No I won't shutup about it

Kie's parents. It's amazing how I found myself thinking they'd grown on me because surely it's hard trying to be a parent to Kie with everything going on but then they just weren't listening to her at all and literally forcibly shipping her off was sooo. And then for them to be celebrating their discovery at the end like they didn't doubt her and JJ the whole time was so ugh

My favorite drivers 2 months and 3 weeks into liking F1:

1. Alex Albon

Nothing changed here. Albono is probably the love of my life. I even had a dream about him in which I was more or less friends with him and had the biggest crush on him. He just seems like such a nice, fun and genuine guy and I would give (almost) everything I own to be friends with him.

The weekend wasn't optimal for Williams, but it wasn't the worst and as long as Alex is fine, I'm happy.

Also I finally started to appreciate Lily the way she deserves. I know it's toxic af, but I always find myself having problems with the wags just because of pure jealousy, especially when it comes to people like Alex (I just love him so much). But I try my best not to. I've always liked Lily as a person and now I finally also like her as Albono's wag. She seems to be good to him and they both deserve to be happy.

2. Sergio Perez

Yes he's still up here, I'm still obsessed. And I'm still sad that there seem to be very few people who don't constantly make fun of him. Bless everyone who is nice to him.

I am soooo insanely happy that both quali and race went well for him for once. But the sprint race sucked. And for some reason my brother felt the need to make fun of him for DNFing. Like he didn't even watch it, he has no idea what happened, but felt the need to rub that in my face. But I guess that's what a brother is there for.

I've been reading tons of Chestappen fics lately. I'm really sad that I got into f1 too late and missed their honeymoon phase. I joined after the divorce. Which is probably for the better, because it would've hurt too much seeing the divorce in real time.

Seeing them on the podium together was greath tho :)

I just wish they would hug :(

3. Charles Leclerc

Charles on Pole and P3 in the race!!!! I was so happy for him!! P1 or 2 would've been better of course, but there is no stopping Red Bull so it's basically a win and I love that for him.

Also is it just me or is it super awkward when the Red Bulls are basically ignoring Charles when spraying Champagne on the podium? He deserves some attention as well😭😭

Honerable mentions:

Sophia Flörsch. She's not in F1 but F3, but I just need to mention her. The first woman to score points, I'm so proud of her😭😭

And damn what a race starting from P24 to P7. She deserves way more attention than she's getting, so please take this as your sign to go support Sophia!

Max. As always, his hair. And him in civil clothing is going to kill me someday. It's not like I'm seeking Max content (except for Chestappen or Lestappen stuff), but when I see it I usually like it. His smile is the sweetest and the hug he shared with Christian after the race made me melt.

And I feel like I need to say again that even if I don't like this total domination that's going on, Max totally deserves it. He just is that good.

Lance. I need simply need more Lance content, preferably Strollonso content, thank you very much. Lance just seems like a sweetheart to me. I usually don't like giving celebs, or people I don't personally know pet names, but Lance is such a baby girl, the princess of kitty town.

Saturday drove me crazy. I felt so bad for Lance crashing because he changed to slicks and basically destroying not only his and Fernandos chance of getting into Q3, but also the Williams. He must've felt so bad. I know I would've.

But hey, we got stroints.

Esteban. It's the same with Charles and Pierre. I started liking Pierre mainly because he's close to Charles and now I start paying more attention to Esteban. And he's a really good driver. I love that for him.

Fernando. My mom, who doesn't know anything about f1 or the drivers, randomly said that she likes Fernando the most. When I asked why she said because of the f1 intro. She thinks he looks likable and I think that's funny.

Also big F for him, I hope he got to enjoy his birthday despite all the shit that was going down in Aston that day.

Pierre. I was so happy for him! It was "only" a sprint race, but podium is podium.

Also I've been reading many Yukierre fics lately for some reason.

Yuki. Like I said, I've been reading a lot of Yukierre. But also, Yuki got points :D

And my brother said something against Yuki, which made me mad (he likes to dislike the things I like, honsetly I'm just glad he doesn't shit on Alex)

Carlos. The team really made him drive half the race with a broken car. It sucks so bad, I just want my vroom vroom boys to be happy :(

Also Carlando are just so cute, I can't with them.

Oscar. Same as Carlos. Oscar just had such a good weekend and then he has to retire after the first turn. That was really sad!

Possible Other Book Pairings Part 1: Pride & Prejudice

I’m kind of a strange JAFF writer because I have very few One True Pairings. The only pairing in Jane Austen I will not mess with is Henry Tilney and Catherine Morland because I love them too much. I’ll happily kill Elizabeth Bennet or make her and Darcy never meet. And I am always trying to get Fanny away from Edmund. I might write up some of these in the future, but here are my possible cross book pairings for P&P characters:

I wrote a Persuasion and P&P crossover (which you can currently read for free) and spoilers, the pairings were Louisa Musgrove & Bingley, Anne & Darcy, Elizabeth & Wentworth, Jane & Captain Benwick, and Caroline & Mr. Elliot (he likes her, it’s fine). I also prevented the Wickham/Lydia debacle and Mary married Mr. Collins.

Northanger Abbey: I think Darcy would be interested in Eleanor Tilney, but he’d probably see Catherine as a little sister. Bingley might be drawn in by Isabella Thorpe but he’d get over her pretty fast. Caroline divides her flirting time between Frederick Tilney and Darcy. I think Elizabeth would find Henry Tilney fun but I don’t know if they would actually work as a couple (they both like to talk too much). I think Jane might be better suited to Henry. Lydia would probably actually like John Thorpe and would definitely be BFFs with Isabella.

Emma: Emma and Darcy would probably like each other but that pairing would be THE WORST and WE CANNOT ALLOW IT TO HAPPEN. I am fairly certain that Darcy wouldn’t agree to move to Hartfield full time so we are safe. Emma and Darcy are basically the same person and I think they’d bring out the absolute worst in each other. Bingley would probably like Jane Fairfax, and I could see Frank Churchill being interested in Georgiana (aged up a little), though he’d flirt with Elizabeth. I think Elizabeth would be happy with John Knightley. Lydia and Kitty would be all gaga over the Hot Preacher Mr. Elton, but as he’s looking for money he’d be after the newly rich Miss King. Charlotte makes a play for Mr. Woodhouse. I could also see Jane being happy with Mr. Weston.

Sense and Sensibility: Darcy would probably love Elinor and hate Marianne. Bingley goes for Marianne’s looks, not sure if he would like her personality... but to be honest he might find it endearing. Lucy Steele would be ready to try for both Darcy and Bingley, probably focusing on the easier mark of Bingley. I think he would see through her and Darcy certainly would. Wickham would try for Sophia Grey. Elizabeth would probably love Willoughby and then be disgusted by him when she found out the truth. I could see Jane liking Colonel Brandon. I’m not sure if anyone pairs well with Edward… maybe Jane? Jane can’t marry everyone! Lydia and Kitty would be all over Willoughby but probably dismiss Colonel Brandon as too old. None of the men are rich enough for Caroline.

Mansfield Park: Bingley has trouble picking between the two beautiful Miss Bertrams but settles on Julia because she actually has an okay personality. Darcy is completely uninterested in them, but is drawn in by Mary Crawford. He clues in to her amorality WAY FASTER than Edmund and then falls for Fanny because she is awesome (she also activates Saviour Complexes and we know Darcy has one of those). Elizabeth would probably like Henry Crawford but if he tried the flirting-with-multiple-sisters thing she would shut him down (because she actually has good sister relationships). I could see Edmund maybe getting together with Jane. Caroline tries for Tom Bertram, since he’s the heir, and has very little success because she’s not a racehorse and that’s what he’s into right now. Lydia and Kitty fawn over William Price with all his exciting sea journeys. Henry Crawford probably wouldn’t actually marry.

(And yes, I leave out Mary Bennet a lot, I just don’t find her very interesting or likable...)

Strawberry - Daryl Dixon

Request: Hi love! I adore your daryl dixon works and i was wondering if i would be able to request a scenario where you risk your life to save a baby that you found and daryl’s reaction (you still survive but it was a narrow escape) to your maternal instincts? 

A/N: I think I went a little off course with this one. To be fair, I tried it out three different ways and settled on this so hopefully it’s good.

The atmosphere at camp had taken a relatively negative turn after you’d gotten back from the run with Daryl. It didn’t help that you were injured, cuts so deep on your leg that if Daryl hadn’t vouched for them being caused by barbed wire you were sure Shane would’ve shot you on the spot, convinced you’d been bitten. Hershel had to stitch you up and you could hear Andrea bitching the entire time, voice carrying through the door, that this was all a liability. You, your recklessness, your injury, and, most importantly, the baby that you were holding on your lap for the entirety of Hershel’s work.  

A little girl without a name, she was wearing pink corduroy overalls with strawberries embroidered into them. The run, which should have been routine, had taken you and Daryl further into town. He’d been spending a lot of time looking for Sophia but when Glenn injured his ankle on a run, Rick nominated you and Daryl to head out in search of supplies.  

“When I told you to bring back whatever you could find,” Rick said, watching the baby skeptically, “I didn’t mean a baby.”

She was little more than five months old you guessed, trapped in a car seat in the back of an old Volkswagen that Glenn told you hadn’t been there when he passed through before. “Must’ve been other survivors, travelling through the area.” Everyone seemed to have an opinion on the baby and on your decision to save her, at great personal risk to yourself, but you tuned most of them out. Aside from situationally, most of these people weren’t ones you would ever actually spend time with and you didn’t care if the Andrea’s of the world passed judgement on your personal convictions.  

“How’s she doing?” The only one who had been surprisingly without criticism of your actions was the one person you had expected to admonish you for being reckless. Daryl sat down on the porch steps beside you, crossbow on his lap.  

You had seen the baby trying to outrun a hoard of walkers and get back to Daryl’s bike. She was inside the car, crying, and you had doubled back for her, nearly killing yourself when you caught your leg on a bundle of barbed wire from a downed fence. Daryl had cut it from your leg, part of your jeans ripping off with them as he pulled you and the baby to safety. He’d been the one to bandage you enough to get you back to the farm too, not a word to you the entire time.  

In all honesty, you were waiting for him to be angry. Maybe not yell because you hadn’t really experienced him yelling at you before, but certainly had heard him go at it with Shane a few times. And you expected something, at least a “yer stupid” but so far he hadn’t said anything.  

“Alright,” you shifted the baby in your arms and placed the empty bottle down between you and Daryl, “she finally ate.”

He nodded, glancing over at the baby as you laid her against your chest to burp her. “Yer good with her, ya got any experience with babies then?” He asked, more than you’d talked to him since Merle went missing, presumed dead. Probably more than you had spoken to him before that too.  

“I was the middle kid of nine,” you replied, “babies are pretty much part of my wiring. I always thought I’d have one.”

“Got one now.”

You laughed, maybe the first honest one since you’d wound up in Atlanta. Daryl wasn’t one to joke around and that, partially, had thrown you into the minor fit but, more over, he was right. As judgmental as Lori and Andrea and Shane wanted to be, this baby wasn’t going anywhere any time soon. None of them would as you to do that.  

“I guess I do.” You finally said, “I’m sorry for getting us all mixed up, by the way. I wasn’t trying to jeopardise your safety.”  

“I ain’t some heartless bastard, not gonna ask ya ta leave a kid ta die.” He replied.  

“Still, thought you’d have something to say about it. Everyone else seems to.”  

“Yeah well,” his hands worked to clean the crossbow and he paused his speech for a moment, full concentration on the weapon in his hands. He listened for any sign of footsteps or the possibility of somebody that might overhear the conversation. “Shane woulda just as soon shot ya both in the back.”  

“That’s true.”  

“Everybody’s losing that bit of ‘em...it’s good ya still got it.” He said quietly and you nodded because you understood what he was trying to say. The same thing that had him out there looking for Sophia had propelled you back to the car. And if he had seen the baby first he would’ve done the same thing.  

The baby made a quiet heaving noise before something akin to a giggle and you laid her on your thighs as you reached for the spit blanket that Maggie had given you. Daryl reached a hand over, steadying the baby she didn’t roll off your lap, the infant cooing at him and grabbing at his fingers.  

“I looked through her diaper bag,” you finally said, adjusting her again so she could sit up, facing her out to the yard and letting her look around at everything. She seemed transfixed with Daryl, reaching out for him and clapping her hands together when he gave her his hand back. “There’s no name or anything on it…not even on her tags.”  

“I ain’t good at naming things,” Daryl said, as if sensing that was why you’d brought it up. “Stray cat used to come in our yard ta eat and all I called him was kitty.”  

“Yeah…I’m gonna pass on naming her Baby.” You joked, “just figured since you were there when I found her.”  

“She’s all yours,” he replied hastily though he had set his crossbow aside to play with her. Not going so far as to take her off your lap but keeping her occupied, holding her attention.

You pushed open the door to the jail cell, sliding the curtain out of the way as you slipped inside, surprised to see Daryl sitting on the bed in your tiny room, the baby on his lap. You had put her down for a nap only thirty minutes earlier, heading outside to check the snares with Rick and had come back in to make sure she was alright.

“Beth asked if I’d check on her,” Daryl said, not even looking away from her as you shut the curtain and pulled the chair over. “Said Judith was fussing.”

“Thanks, sorry I was out in the field...guess I shouldn’t be leaving her with everyone else if I’m the one who’s supposed to be taking care of her.” You joked. Lori was gone now but the admonishment had been from her. That if you so desperately wanted this baby around than you should be the one to care for her.  

“Ain’t just a job for one person.” Daryl replied, “she ain’t hard to take care of anyway.”

“That’s cause she likes you.” You observed. His cheeks flushed and he bowed his head, almost bashful at the thought and you just smiled like you hadn’t noticed his sudden behavior, turning your attention to the baby.

“Frazier,” the little girl rocked back on her bottom, giggling when she met Daryl’s shins and tilting her head back to look up at him. Her knees and the palms of her hands were stained from the grass that she’d been tearing through.  

She smiled, rocking herself forward so that she could clumsily stand up, turning swiftly to face Daryl again as she reached her arms up for him. “Daddy!” The moniker was new, ever since Judith had started talking, calling Rick ‘dada’ when she saw him, Frazier had decided that she, too, required a dad. And, naturally, she had decided that it was Daryl.  

He shouldered the crossbow he was carrying and leaned down to scoop her up, doing his best to ignore the name. You’d suggested that maybe the term would die out as she got a little older but so far it was sticking and, while Daryl made like it bothered him, it didn’t really. Taking care of the baby, who you’d named from your mother’s side of the family, had seemingly brought the two of you closer. Or at least it had created a reason for Daryl to stay close to you. Looking out for the baby, as he always put it.  

“She’s been waiting all day for you.”  

Speak of the devil, he turned toward the house to see you coming out to greet them, still pulling a hoodie on to combat the chill that had settled into Alexandria. In the time between Hershel’s farm and now you had seen a lot of bloodshed, lost a lot of people. For a brief moment in time Daryl had been fairly positive he had lost the both of you too, but you had turned up in the woods outside of Terminus, Frazier right there with you.  

“Ya been keeping watch?” He asked, jostling her slightly and being rewarded when she giggled and nodded her head.  

“Yeah, no naps!”  

“Oh Lord,” he muttered, handing her off to you when you reached out for her.  

“Come on Frazier, let’s get some food?” You offered, carrying her towards the stairs. She twisted in your arms, reaching over your shoulder for Daryl as he followed behind you.  

For all the maternal instincts everyone always said that you had, you thought Daryl was just as protective and acutely aware of Frazier, and now Judith, as you were. He was just less obvious about it. Trying to pass it off as indifference when in actuality you had seen that side of him often and in excess.
