Paul meets his imprint and they have a one night stand
author's note: Reader picks Paul up in a bar and he decides he is in it for a good time not a long time. (Yes he does imprint but he doesn't want to drag anyone into his messy life so he decides to just create this one beautiful memory) This story technically continues as it is part of my twilight literary universe (aka my multiverse of madness) so I could totally do a part 2 if anyone's interested
warnings: mentions of alcohol consumption, fake IDs (both reader and Paul are over 18), no smut but obvious allusions to sex, mentions of y/n
(please let me know if I missed anything)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Josie was the first to tell you that a guy across the bar was staring at you. You laughed at her, in a mix of disbelief and excitement but you did turn to look at him. You immediately knew who she was talking about because sitting amidst a group of young men there was one who very obviously had his eyes on you.
You swallowed under his gaze and were immediately sure that he knew you had noticed him. One of his friends patted him on the shoulder and he turned away from you, though he wasn't meeting his friends eyes.
You heard your friends laugh next to you but unlike him you didn't want to tear your eyes of him yet. He had dark hair and in the dimly lit bar his face was contoured by shadows that just conveniently fell in all the right places, he looked a little tense for a bar, but when he turned back to look at you, you waved and smiled, he smiled back.
You turned back to Josie to find that Justin and Liza had returned from their bathroom trip. All four of you burst into laughter and you took another sip. You were only on your second wine of the night but something about flirting with strangers just got you into a giggly mood.
The night progressed. The intervals of Liza and Justin having to go to the restroom at the same time grew shorter and Josies encouragement that you should go over to the stranger grew louder. He had been staring at you all night. Of course, the only way you knew that was because you stole a glance in his direction every chance you got but he didnât need to know that.
After your third glass you ordered a water and your head was getting clear again. And as it did you somehow convinced yourself that you should indeed go over, just to see what would happen.
When Liza and Justin got back, Josie ran her fingers through your hair and off you went.
He looked at you while walking, smiling and then saying something to his friends. You slid down on the bench next to him before turning your entire body to him.
âYou know considering youâve been staring at me the whole night and how attractive you are I really wouldâve expected you to come over first.â You said before looking past him and smiling at his friends.
He seemed perplexed for a second then he returned your smirk.
âHow about I make up for it with another drink? Iâm Paul by the way.â
âY/Nâ you held out your hand and he firmly shook it.
And thus, the night progressed. You were unsure when his friends disappeared, you hadnât even asked their names. Youâve been too busy trying to scoot your thigh close to his in a casual and coincidental way while maintaining conversation.
From the moment you had gone over to his table you had been quite certain that you did not intend to leave the bar with your friends tonight and as the night went on and the âaccidentalâ touches between the two of you grew more frequent, you saw yourself confronted with the horrifying truth that you would have to tell them that.
You told Paul about the bookstore you had gone to that day, and he made some stupid joke about you being book smart which perfectly balanced his street smartness when you leaned in laughing and he grabbed your chin to kiss you for the first time.
It was explosive.
His hands and lips and the air around him seemed to be on fire and you couldnât help but pull him in by his T-shirt as you slid your tongue into his mouth.
When you broke apart you looked at each other. He seemed to be waiting for something.
You smiled before saying: âLetâs get out of here, mhh?â
You took his hand and pulled him over to your friends to grab your purse and say good bye (and make sure they all had a good look of him in case anything happened).
Thankfully none of them was making an inappropriate joke, though you knew they were only saving them for after. That would be an issue for future you though, Paul looked like he would be worth the trouble.
You werenât sure how you ended up on his lap on the back of his truck though. Originally you had wanted to drive to his place, sneak in through the window. The thought had been kind of exciting. You had never sneaked in or out of a boyâs house before.
Either way, your hands were tangled in his hair now, neither of you were wearing shirts anymore, so it did not look like you were going to make it to a second location.
His warm fingers were tracing up and down your thighs as he pushed himself against any free inch of skin he could get. There was something hungry about the way he held you, like he would never get enough of you.
Maybe you were only imagining that though because it was the exact same way, he made you feel. His smell was intoxicating, like a forest after rain mixed with the mild but lingering taste of beer on his lips.
âCan we pause for a secondâ because the thought of alcohol had suddenly made you feel guilty. He pulled back and looked at you, waiting.
The night had started with going to the bookstore with a friend and somehow ended on top of a half-naked stranger in the back of his car. You were glad for his hands on your waist, they helped steady you.
Your hands rested on Paul's bare chest; his skin so hot under yours you were worried about burning. You didn't, he was just warm enough that the cold air around you barely bothered you.
"I uhm..." You took your fingers off his chest and looked away from him for fear his eyes and lips and body would make you forget your train of thought once more.
"I'm not 21. I used a fake ID to get those drinks. Iâm sorry I didnât say anything.â
Paul shuffled under you, moving away and reaching for your shirt, which he had so willingly pulled over your head just a few minutes prior. He gave it to you and looked up into your face.
You couldnât read his expression. Was he mad? Sad? Annoyed?
âI mean, I'm 18 you're not doing anything illegal here or anything, just a little younger than you probably expectedâ you added quickly because it suddenly dawned on you that he was probably worried about that. You covered yourself with your t-shirt without putting it back on and then his face turned into a smile.
Without saying anything, he reached into his pants and pulled out a wallet. He handed you his driverâs license, which told you that he too had also just turned 18, only a few months after you.Â
You slapped his chest, and he used that hand to pull you in for another kiss.Â
"I was actually feeling bad because I lied to you" you mumbled into a kiss, and he smiled again.
"I could tell."
You bid down on his lower lip, as your hands wandered down to his pants. You let your fingers brush over the soft skin on his stomach and casually let them slip into the band of his pants just a little. He exhaled against your lips, his pulling into a smile.
His hands were all over your upper body, leaving goose bumps everywhere they went. He lightly brushed against the side of your bra, you nodded in encouragement and his hand brushed over your covered breasts for the first time causing you to shiver. His fingers followed the seam from your front to your back, coming to a halt at your bra clip. They lingered, softly brushing your skin, as he pulled back to look at you, waiting for some sort of signal. You smiled and kissed him again.
You've never had sex with a stranger before and somehow you felt closer to this really hot guy you've met a few hours ago than you did to the majority of guys in your high school.
Your bra came loose, and you had started to unbutton his pants when he interrupted the kiss once more.Â
"Anything else I should know?" You thought for a second and shook your head, and he started to consume, to devour you.
He pressed hot kisses onto every inch of skin he could reach.Â
This wasn't what you had imagined a one-night stand in the back of a car to be like. Paul was making you shiver in the best way possible, and you gladly let him.
Paul hugged you close to his chest for a few seconds, but you could feel him getting soft and you needed to get the condom off before that was all for nothing.
Your legs were shaking even with Paul supporting them, as you slid off him and sat down on the car seat next to him. Leaning against his shoulders and leaving a kiss there. Although the sex was over it felt so right to keep touching him, to keep kissing him, that you did.
You caressed his body as you helped him take the condom off without spilling anything. You wrapped it in a tissue and put it in a plastic bag you had gotten at the bookstore.
Neither of you said anything. The realization of what had happened began to dawn on you. What were you supposed to do now? Were your supposed to leave? Ask for a ride home? Call someone to pick you up?
Paul took your hand, and pulled one of your legs back over his, resting his hand there. You couldnât help but look at him. His hair was a little damp and extremely messy and the smile on his lips was so bright you wanted to bottle it up and take it home for bad days.
"You, okay?" He looked so genuinely concerned. At least you hadn't picked up some asshole.
You gave him a small smile.
"Yeah, I think I'm good. Are you okay?" You realized how tight he was holding onto your leg, as if he was afraid of letting go.Â
He nodded. There was something in his eyes, it felt like there was something he wasn't telling you and it bothered you. Obviously, this man was a complete stranger and under no obligation to say anything, but the way he looked at you made you want to know every thought heâs ever thought.
âWould it be okay if we just... lay down here?â He asked after a moment of silence.
You nodded and he opened his arms for you to lay down on his chest. Instinctively you started to run your fingers over his upper body again, tracing the lines between muscles and squeezing anything your fingers could comfortably grip.
At first there was only silence between you. Then, you started talking. First about how you originally had the day planned. Then about other things. Your friends, school. And he told you things too, although considerably less.
Mostly he brushed his fingertips over your naked skin and hair. He leaned down a few times to kiss the top of your head and then seemed to stop himself.
Each time you pretended you didn't notice and each time you hoped that he actually would do it this time.
Eventually he did. First your hair, then your forehead. it only took minutes before you were straddling him again and savouring the taste of his lips.
The night passed and only as the sun started to rise in the window shield did you acknowledge that it was going to end.
Paul helped you put your clothes back on and offered to drive you home without taking no for an answer. You were both spent but at the same time, you had not felt this alive in a long time.Â
Paul dropped you off.
He didnât ask for your number, and you didnât ask for his and so you gave him a smile and then waved from the front door.
And that was it.

previous part || series masterlist || next part
Jimin pulls up to the house, and his GPS beeps to tell him that he has arrived at location. He observes the scene from his spot in his car. He then steps out, walks to the door and rings the doorbell.
âDid you forget something?â Lizaâs mother opens the door with the question. âOh!â
Jimin gives an apologetic smile. âSorry to bother you maâam, but could I ask you a few questions? S.F.P.D.â He flashes his badge.
A few days ago, he had discovered that a vehicle had been rented out under the name Jeon Jungkook. Consequently, he had put in a request to his friends at the station to inform him of any and all movements of this vehicle. His friends had laughed at him, sending him quickly away as they did not have time to do this for him. Jimin thoroughly pleaded his case and had been given a simple tracking program in which he had used to follow Jungkook around today.
Lizaâs mother steps out of the house and quickly closes the door behind her. However, she is not fast enough to hide Liza peering out from Jiminâs observant eyes.
âYour daughter?â he asks.
She becomes flustered. âIâŠYouâŠYes. Sorry, who did you say you were?â
He holds out his badge again. âS.F.P.D.â
âR-Right. I see your identification.â
The badge is put away.
âItâs just that we donât usually have policemen coming to our doors and well, I didnât want to scare Liza, my daughter,â her mother continues. Â
âItâs not a problem, maâam, and Iâm very sorry to have to interrupt your day like this.â
Shaking her head, she waves his concern away.
âWould you be available to answer a few questions right now? It wonât take much of your time,â he tells her.
She nods.
âDid you have any visitors at your house today?â he starts.
âVisitors? WellâŠâ she rambles off a few names and then stops. He hopefully looks on and exhales only when she speaks again. âThere was also a man who stopped by. A few minutes before you actually.â
Finally, he is getting somewhere.
âI see. This man you speak about. Have you seen him before?â
âNo. That was my first time. I think he worked for an insurance company? He wasnât even supposed to be at our house; he was looking for a Mrs. Fallon perhaps down the street,â she tells him. A sudden thought dawns upon and she gasps, horror splashing ugly across her face. âHeâs not some criminal, is he? Heavens! He seemed like such a nice man as well!â
He places a comforting hand on her shoulder. âThereâs nothing to worry about. Could you tell me a little more about him? You said he worked for an insurance company?â
The woman is extremely nervous. He can read it off her body language as she continues to tug at the hem of her shirt. His previous words had not been any consolation to her at all. He appeals one more time.
âTruth be told, Iâm here investigating claims about a group assuming fake identities to sell illegal goods to occupants in this area.â
âYou donât thinkâŠ.!â she holds a hand over her mouth.
He shrugs. âWeâre not too sure yet. However, if you help answer some of these questions, weâd be able to track down this group quicker.â
âO-Of course! The man showed me some papers. I couldnât get a real good look, but I think I saw a logo on there. That one with the giant âLâ and the twigs that stick out on the side. I canât remember the name of the company, howeverâŠâ her voice trails off.
She doesnât need to explain further as Jimin recognizes the logo.
âNot a problem. Well, thatâs all for today. Thank you so much for your time, maâam,â he nods and begins to leave.
âThatâs all? I havenât even given you the name!â she calls after him.
âYouâve been very helpful!â he shouts behind him, âHave a good day and stay safe!â
He enters his car quickly to prevent her from calling out at him again. The logo she had explained is one he is familiar with. It is one heâs seen often at the building two blocks away from the station, and he knows for a fact that Jungkook does not work for that company.
All Jungkook had done was talk to the woman. They had barely exchanged enough words for her to even remember who he was. However, he was also clearly not there to sell any type of insurance.
If so, what had Jeon Jungkook been doing at that house then?
âŠ................
âExcuse me, would you be able to tell me where I can find this gentleman?â she slides the wallet sized photo of herself and said man to the receptionist.
The pretty lady on the other side faintly smiles upon seeing it. âYour husband?â she asks.
Krystal blushes. âOh no. Heâs my boyfriend. I was hoping that maybe you can locate him.â
The ladyâs eyebrows furrow upon her words. âIs he missing? I can direct you to the Missing Personâs Unit.â
âNo!â Krystal immediately blurts, âSorry. I mean, heâs not missing. He had told me previously that the station had called him in for an interview? Heâs not involved in any crime. They only wanted to ask him some questions.â
Her fingers fly across the keyboard while chewing on her pen. After a few moments, the receptionist looks back up at Krystal for a brief moment. âWhat did you say his name was?â
âJeon Jungkook.â
More typing. âAh, yes. He came in quite some time ago. I have him signed in to visit the Homicide Unit with Lieutenant Wang.â
âAh, would you be able to direct me to the Lieutenant?â
âWell, I canât just have you going inâŠâ the receptionist bites her lips in thought. She scratches something down on her notepad before her head snaps up again.
âŠ...............
Namjoon and Jimin had returned from their lunch break. Jimin had only been planning to go down for a quick sandwich at the cafeteria but he had been dragged along by Namjoon to go to the nearby Thai restaurant. It all started when Jimin had observed that Namjoon had an unopened lunch bag on his desk.
âYoungji made lunch for me,â Namjoon had said.
Perhaps this is the opportunity to bring up his suspicions on Jungkook; he hadnât spoken of the matter to Namjoon for a while now. In fact, he hadnât even told his supervisor about the vehicle tracking he did a few days ago.
âOh? What did she make you?â Jimin had innocently asked. How he regretted the decision.
The entire time they were out, Namjoon had complained about his wifeïżœïżœs cooking â especially her renewed passion for cooking green foods (for a brief time, Youngji had stopped). His complaints had paused while they were physically partaking in their lunch meal, and Jimin had thought Namjoon forgot about it, but on their walk back to the station, Namjoon began ranting again. He hadnât even had the chance to bring up Jungkookâs name let alone his recent observations.
âI donât even like green beans. I try to tell her, but she insists on making them because theyâre healthy,â Namjoon groans, âHow does one tell their wife to stop cooking for them?â
Jimin sighs. âMaybe simply saying âPlease stop cooking for meâ.â
That causes Namjoon to roll his eyes. âThis is why youâll never get married. You canât just tell your wife that her food sucks. I have thick skin when it comes to speaking up to anybody else, but her⊠Iâd rather just down it.â
âYou didnât though. You threw it out and we went out for Thai instead.â
Namjoon does not seem to hear what Jimin has said; as they are walking into the station, he harshly jabs Jimin in the ribs.
âNamjoon what â â Jimin glares at his friend.
Namjoon nods his head in the direction. âHot girl, alert. Like 10/10.â
Jimin raises an eyebrow. âYouâd better not let Youngji catch you saying thatâŠâ his sentence trails off when he notices the girl who stands at the receptionistâs desk.
She is immensely pretty. Her light brown hair hangs in waves down her back and her smooth, long legs are accentuated under the black skirt she is sporting. She is also wearing a body-hugging turtleneck that wraps around her athletic body, naturally drawing attention to her flushed curves.
âDamn,â Namjoon whistles lightly under his breath, âDo you think sheâs a good cook?âÂ
This time, Jimin fails and the laughter bursts out. The sudden sound draws both the receptionist and the beautiful womanâs attention towards the two of them.
âLieutenant!â the receptionist calls over.
The two men shuffle over like shy school boys.
Now that they are standing closer and that they could see her face, they are even more impressed by her natural beauty. Her make up is light and makes her skin appear soft and dewy. Her bright eyes greet theirs and she tucks a loose strand of hair behind her ear, an unconscious seductive gesture in their minds. When they finally reach her, she beams them a smile of perfectly aligned white teeth.
âHowdy,â Namjoon goofily says. He clears his throat once and tries again. âUm, hello. Iâm Lieutenant Kim Namjoon.â He extends a hand.
Krystal shakes it.
âDetective Park Jimin,â Jimin introduces himself sequentially.
She takes his hand as well. He notes how warm yet strong her grip is.
âTheyâll be able to help you better,â the receptionist smiles.
âOh?â Jimin tilts his head at the question.
Krystal opens her mouth to explain the reason she is at the station when Namjoon interrupts before she can speak.
âItâs rude to make a lady wait and stand here. Perhaps Iâd be able to invite you to his office so the two of you can talk comfortably there?â
âHis office? Are you not the Lieutenant?â Krystal asks, slightly confused.
Namjoon laughs. âYeah I am. But uh⊠I just remembered that I, um, have some business to take care of for the other⊠thing. I mean, case. I have to take care of a meeting to see a case.â
Jimin glares at Namjoon.
âYouâll be left in capable hands though. Detective Park is the best in our unit,â Namjoon says. He gives them a quick wave and the wiggle of his brows towards Jimin before leaving the station despite having just returned to it.
Jimin wants to hit Namjoon, but he really could not leave the mysterious stranger standing by herself. He turns to Krystal again.
She is regarding him with a slight grin. âHeâs a strange one, isnât he?â she comments.
âYou canât even begin to imagine,â he returns with a roll of his eyes, âThis way.â He leads her towards the elevators up to his floor.
âIâm really sorry to be a bother,â she says while they wait. She waits until he has pressed the button before continuing, âItâs really nothing much. Iâm just looking for somebody.â
âIf youâre looking for somebody, shouldnât you be speaking to the MPU?â
âMPU?â
âSorry, slip of the tongue. Missing Personâs Unit.â
She scrunches her nose. âHeâs not missing⊠Heâs somewhere here. The last time we spoke he told me he had been called in here, so I thought to try my luck. Perhaps youâve seen him?â
Her words are confusing to Jimin. They donât make sense.
The lights above head start to slowly flash as the elevator comes down to meet them.Â
âIâm sorry, this is probably really bizarre right now; I havenât even introduced myself formally. Iâm Krystal,â she extends her hand again. It awkwardly hangs there for a quick second before she retracts it a second time, remembering that they had already exchanged handshakes.
Jimin gives her a warm smile. She was nervous, for some strange reason. âNot to worry, Krystal. Do you have a name?â
âJeon Jungkook,â she says.
âNo, he isnât,â Jimin mumbles. âAt least for now,â he keeps that part to himself. He turns back to Krystal. âI saw him. He came in to do an interview for me.â
He is not fast enough to conceal his disgust at the mention of the manâs name.
Krystal catches the brief microexpression, however. âPlease donât tell me that heâs in trouble.â
âOh! So you did see him! Would you be able to tell me where he is staying currently? I tried to call him earlier but he was busyâŠâ
âI could. But first you are hisâŠâ
âGirlfriend.â
Ah. So this was the woman Jungkook had mentioned. Again, he is relives the bitter taste in his mouth from when Jungkook had told him that he had been out with another woman. Jimin tightens his fist when a thought crosses his mind.
âGirlfriend, you say?â he repeats. Perhaps he could kill two birds with one stone.
She nods, animatedly. Krystal is excited that she had been able to bump into the handsome detective. He seemed to know about Jungkookâs whereabouts in this foreign city.
âHeâs staying with a friend of mine. I could give you her address, if youâd like,â Jimin tells her.
She takes his bait. âHerâŠ?â she repeats silently to herself.
âIs something the matter?â Jimin asks.
Krystal looks back up at him with a smile. âNothing!â she says, âIâd appreciate that a lot, Detective Tuan.â
Jimin nods. He writes out your address on a piece of paper and hands it to her. âI hope you find him,â he encourages her.
The elevator doors before them open and wait for its passengers.
âMhmm,â Krystal says. The initial excitement her voice held is audibly dampened. She thanks him and walks away.
Jimin enters the elevator alone. There is a knowing smile on his face. Perhaps this lady would finally be able to get Jungkook out of your life once and for all.
âŠ...............
We all have that thing, donât we? That one thing we know we should not do, yet we succumb into its temptation each and every time because itâs so good. Despite it destroying our body, the thought of not being able to yield torments the passing thoughts in our mind and coaxes us to believe that it is okay.
Let us listen to it this one last time. Just this one last time and we promise ourselves that we will never do it again. Just this one last time and we will then walk away. That is the argument we have and boy.
Weâve lost.
The feeling of absolute bliss washes over your body as you stand in the shower, allowing the hot water to run across every inch of skin. It feels like a large warm hand that massages your shoulders, calves, back â each muscle on your body. You are aware that the temperature is too high but it feels too good for you to turn it down.
After avoiding the studio for so long, you had finally brought yourself around to go back to it. Min had been ecstatic when you walked in. You had not seen each other in a little over two weeks and with you not responding to any of her nor mutual friendsâ calls, she had thought something had happened to you.
Min is your best friend. There is no doubt about it. The two of you shared everything so Min had been slightly disappointed when you failed to tell her why you had suddenly disappeared.
You had taken out the large canvas from your bag instead after the initial hug ended. You rolled out the painting and asked Min for her opinion.
âItâs a little⊠sporadic,â was all Min could say.
âSporadic⊠thatâs one way to put it,â you grimaced, âI donât like it. But itâs nearly complete, and I donât have time to make a new one.â
âAre you making it for a client?â
âNo.â
Min was seen biting the inside of her cheek with all of your mysteries. You had felt bad so you told her, âRemember that guy I told you about? Itâs for him.â
Her eyes seemed to light up now that you were speaking again. âOh yeah! Jungkook! You had been working on it for quite a while, right?â
You nodded.
âWell, how about I go out and get us our favourite donuts from the bakery? I know good food always helps me get over artistâs block!â Min had offered. Before you could tell her otherwise, you were looking at the back of your petite friend rushing out the door into the autumn wind.
With not much of a choice, you had settled down at your usual corner. The studio was quiet. There were a few people here and there, but they were mainly minding their own business. They gave you a small smile as you walked around collecting your usual art utensils.
Once you were sitting in front of the painting again, staring at the blacks, navy, bruise-like purples, you started falling into darker thoughts - the same thoughts that are infesting you now that you are alone in the shower again.
You grab the shampoo and start lathering it into your hair.
Baekhyun⊠How many years has it been since that happened? Why was it that he continued to torment you like this despite the fact that he was gone? The most difficult moment had been the few weeks right after the incident. Every little thing you did, you were reminded of him. You couldnât even go out without breaking down into tears; going out meant walking on the path to the studio that you had done so many times with him.
It had taken time, but slowly you thought your wounds had or were at least beginning to close. Yet, Jimin had opened them when you discovered he was still searching for Baekhyun. It wasnât entirely Jiminâs fault. He was only doing what he thought was right. Still, he shouldnât have hid it from you.
You blamed that for your moment of weakness. Seeing yourself physically wounded made you think of the wound that had been reopened in your heart. It made you think of the safe haven you used to have with the man you loved. They had been so close to saying their vows â till death do us apart â that was only supposed to be the case when they both grew old. It wasnât supposed to be their truth so early on.
Baekhyun, am IÂ allowed to fall in love again?
Turning the water off, you step out of the shower. The blast of cold air that hits you makes you tremble, and it is like a clear ring of water in your muddled pool of thoughts.
You shake your head, causing droplets of soapy water to fly everywhere.
You are not in love with Jungkook. There is absolutely no way that can be true. You are grateful to him for being there when you needed â and that is quite often lately. However, you could not find another reason for your speeding heart and dizziness you felt whenever he came home. Could he really be the one to blame for all the moments of breathlessness and chest aches?
Is it okay for me to have new feelings after losing you?
The mirror has been fogged up and you wipe away the condensation with a hand. Peering back at you is a tired girl with long, dark hair that is plastered to your cheeks. Your skin is flushed pink because of the heat and pressure of water. Your lips are flattened and slightly downturned. Your eyebrows are unkempt, and a pimple pushes it way at the side of your nose and all along your T-zone. Fingernails are too long because you have forgotten to cut them; still with chipped pink polish coating the pinky.
You let out a low chuckle. Who would love someone as broken as you? Your eyes dart to a pair of tweezers that sit on the shelf. You pick it up and observe how sharp the edge of the metal object is. You press your fingertip on it until they dig in and you feel the familiar lullaby sting of pain run from that sensitive area down your spine.
You didnât need to actually draw blood to feel it. Your body is already messed up enough that this is where you momentarily pause.
The one person who had always been there as your supporting foundation is long gone. You had not found the strength to admit it, but you had been flailing in quicksand for a while now.
Whatâs a house without its foundation? It can only sink until it becomes no more.
You press harder, sending another chilling flash over your body. Your breath quickens and you feel that your lips are dry, although you have only stepped out of the shower.
Is this what others have felt? The addiction that comes the moment you start. Â
You close your eyes, forcing your body to continue when the sound of a door being slammed shut scares you.
The tweezers fall to the floor.
âŠ................
Shit.
Jungkook thinks as he takes off his shoes. There are still dark brown spots on it despite him intensively scrubbing them for five minutes straight in the car with a cloth. He contemplates on throwing his jacket on the ground, but seeing the state of shoes, he needs to be careful. Bending down, he picks them up and decides then that he must burn them.
He is so engrossed in his thoughts he doesnât notice that he is not the only one home.
Looking around the floor, he finds the closest source of water and strides to it. He lets the water from the kitchen tap run until steam rises from it in which he then proceeds to take off his clothing. He throws in both the jacket and his stained white shirt. He then presses them down until the scalding water hits his own skin.
He hated acting out like this without a plan. He hated it with such a passion, but he hated even more the reason he went out and did it. His kills were always methodically thought out and never without reason. That homeless man in the alleyway shouldnât have said anything when Jungkook walked by. He should have stayed mute, crammed in that dark corner, and harassed the next person that walked by. Not him. No. That decision only resulted in him lying lifeless in his own bloodied mound of dirt.
How could he have let somebody into his car? How was it even possible that he had allowed someone to monitor him to this extent? To have somebody take this much control of his life.
Each stab, a way to release the frustration he felt to his unknown attacker.
He is reminded of the knife at that moment. He should dispose of that as well. It was likely not possible that they would be able to trace the kill back to him â many people died out in the streets each night â but he needed to be careful, nonetheless.
He drains the water and watches the red-brown liquid swirl down the drain. Lifting his white shirt, he sees that the stain is still there. With a clenched jaw, he throws the heavy cloth against the wall, creating a loud smack.
The kill should have calmed him down. He should be feeling much better, but he doesnât. Instead, he feels worse than before because now he has lost a perfectly good shirt and a jacket along with his pride.
With one hand braced against the counter of the kitchen, he takes out the bloodied knife from his pocket. He fumbles to flip it open but cannot due to the temporary paralysis on his fingers from drowning them in the hot water. Bracing the bulk of the item against his side, he forcefully digs into it with his fingertips. It slips and nicks his bare skin on the side.
âŠ...............
You had had to sit down on the floor after your scare from Jungkook slamming the door shut. The unused tweezers had lain beside you for a while before you could pick it back up and return it to its spot. You busied yourself with getting dressed and going out to greet him.
As you throw the long-sleeved t-shirt over your head, you let out a bitter laugh. You were too weak to even do something like inflict pain on yourself. Jungkookâs perfect timing of returning home had stopped you.
You are twisting your damp hair into a bun when you hear a loud yell from the kitchen area.
âFuck,â Jungkook snarls. It is deeper than it should have been. He had been aware how much force he had been trying to use to snap the knife out. The self-inflicted wound above his hip continues to ooze, mocking him red in his anger.
âJungkook?!â You run towards him. You turn the corner and see him shirtless in the middle of the kitchen, one hand holding his side with a reddish liquid running between his fingers. âOh my god! What happened?â
He feels the drape of your wet hair against his chest before anything. You are immediately by his side, putting your hand over his to place pressure on the wound. Not bothering to ask why he is standing without a shirt, you look up at him concerned.
âMy hands slipped while I was trying to take out the knife,â he explains to you.
Again without questions, you lead him to the couch and order him to sit down. He obeys and you leave momentarily to get the first aid kit. When you return, you start to dress his wound. Everything is starting to resolve until Jungkook suddenly chuckles, wincing when it causes his wound to slightly tear.
âJeon Jungkook!â You reprimand.
He grips the couch while you pour medical alcohol over it. âHow ironic,â he says, voice laced with fatigue.
You had thought your heart had fallen out of your chest when you found him bleeding. All the worst possible scenarios had suddenly flown across your mind, and you thought that you were going to watch him die before you.
Not again, your heart has screamed before you could stop it.
Even now, as you were faced before the relatively small but deep wound, you could not stop the racing sensation you felt both mentally and physically.
âWhat are you talking about?â you say.
He hears the tremble in your voice. How strange.
Lilacs. That is what he is smelling from your shampoo.
âIâm usually the one to patch you up when youâre hurt. Now itâs the other way around,â he sighs.
âYou havenât even begun to explain what you were doing, trying to take out a knife while standing shirtless in our kitchen.â
âOurâŠâ he laughs again.
You had fully been meaning to smack him for making it harder for you to clean the wound until it registers in your mind what he had said. What you let slip.
âYou said âour kitchenâ. I thought I was only a tenant here,â he says.
âWell youâve⊠I mean⊠Y-You areâŠâ  you stutter.
Jungkook rests his head back, feeling an extreme form of tiredness on his body. Everything that had happened that day comes crashing down, knocking his breath out completely. It is as if somebody had thrown consecutive punches and he is now feeling its after effects. His stalker, the random kill, this self-inflicted wound.
You mumble something.
âWhat was that?â He is knocked out of his thoughts. He looks down at the top of your head. The wound has been covered but your fingers linger on his body, and he feels their coldness on his heated skin.
You mumble again.
He is tired, but you have been kind enough to help him with any questions. He can at least humour this by being patient towards you.
You donât know what has come over you. You hadnât meant to say it, but Jungkookâs words had flustered you. You let a single word slip out and it had acted like a key to unlock the next ones that tumble out.
âI likeâŠâ you whisper, your voice still buried beneath the veil your hair creates. You donât even know if you truly mean what you are about to say.
You feel his fingers slip beneath your chin and tilt your head up to him. He stares at you with an unwavering type of patience and attention.
âIt wonât help if you keep whispering what it is you want me to hear to my chest. Talk to me like this,â he says slowly, holding your eyes with his. There is an intense fire blazing when you meet them.
Your palms prick as they start to sweat. You gulp and wet your lips.
âI like you!â you blurt, feeling the heat rise to your cheeks immediately after, âI know it doesnât make sense but â â
He silences you with his lips.

ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ-
He paused and blinked a few times.
âIâm sorry, I donât think I heard you right. What did you just say?â
You laughed.
âYou heard me right. Iâm attending my exâs wedding. And heâs marrying my friend who he cheated on me with.â
He tilted his head to the side.
âI donât understand.â
You laughed again, a little more bitterly.
âYeah, neither do I. Iâm only going because of my best friends.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âThis is the first time in ages weâll get to meet in person.â Your eyes softened. âAnd I really miss them.â
The guy had a light smile on his face.
âI get it now.â
âItâs just that⊠I know I will be made fun of for not having a plus one.â
You shook your head at his raised brows.
âYeah, a lot of my old classmates can be mean.â
He inched a little closer.
âCould you tell me what happened? Only if youâre okay with it, of course.â
You shrugged.
âYeah sure, I donât mind talking about it.â
You took a sip of water and began.
âSo, all of this happened two years ago. We had been dating for three years. And I knew that something was off. It was understandable. He was very busy with his job and I was busy with mine. We werenât getting time to spend with each other. And every time I tried, it seemed like he would try his best to get out of it.â
You smiled sadly.
âI know. I should have seen the signs. But he was my longest relationship. And we had been friends for years before dating. I trusted him. When he told me that heâd have to spend two months abroad for work, he wasnât lying and I didnât doubt him. At that point, things were just really strained and he was very stressed. So, to make things a little easier for him, I introduced him to my friend who lived in the city heâd be working in.â
You paused, grip on your dress tightening slightly. You didnât notice that he noticed.
âAnd from there, itâs pretty obvious what happened. Soon, he started ditching my calls saying he was busy. He just never told me he was busy with her. And then, one long weekend, when I flew over to surprise him, I found her in his bed.â
He surprised you when he reached over to hold your hand, gently rubbing his thumb across your knuckles. You stared at him for a bit, trying to gauge whether he was trying to make a move on you or whether he was just being nice. Looking at his eyes, your heart melted a little. He was definitely just being nice.
âYeah. I really should have seen it coming. But I didnât. I saw them together and walked straight back out and took a flight back home. I packed up all my stuff and left home for Seoul.â
âYou just packed up and left?â
âYup. Needed a change of scene. I couldnât deal with being in that apartment anymore.â
He nodded.
âI understand.â
He didnât really understand, because everything seemed too sudden for him, but somehow for you, who just started talking to a stranger on a plane who seemed scared, it fit. He looked down at his hand. He didnât know what possessed him to hold your hand, but again, it just seemed right, even if it was something he had never done before. He found himself opening his mouth to ask you something.
âSo, theyâre getting married now?â
âYeah. And itâs not a normal wedding. They had to make it an all-expenses paid wedding that goes on for literally three days.â
âOkay. Wow.â
âYeah.â
And although you looked perfectly content, something told him that you were upset. Again, he didnât know what he was doing, because he just wasnât an impulsive or spontaneous person, but he found himself retracting his hand to shake yours. You looked up with an eyebrow raised.
âHi. Iâm Song Minho and Iâd be more than happy to be your plus one for this wedding.â
You widened your eyes.
âOh. Oh wow. Are you sure? You donât have to ifâ-
He shook his head. You studied his face for a few seconds before grinning.
âHi then Minho! Iâm Y/N L/N. And Iâd love to have you as my plus one.â
---
âSo, tell me a bit more about your ex and his fiancĂ©. I donât want to be clueless when I meet these ⊠interesting people.â
You nodded and whipped out your phone, pulling up some old photos.
âOkay, so I know this is a group picture, but heâs the shirtless one in an apron and sheâs the one holding a cake.â
Minhoâs jaw got ever so slightly tense when he realised how alone you were in the picture. Sure, your exâs hands may have been draped over your thighs, but you were struggling to keep a smile on your face. It was so obviously fake. And your ex was so obviously unbothered by it.
âAh okay. Whatâre their names?â
âAndy and Liza.â
âOkay, tell me more. How did you meet?â
âOh right. We were in high school together. At that point, we were just friends, but when we ended up working the same part time job in college, things started changing and one day, after months of flirting, he made me a cake with the icing saying, âWill you go out with me?ââ
Minho forced a smile.
âHmmm romantic.â
âIt was. It really was. He wasnât always that bad. HeâŠjust got incredibly forgetful over the years.â
Again, Minho found himself saying something he never would.
âSo basically, he took you for granted?â
You paused, stunned for a moment.
âYeah, yeah he did.â
There was a momentâs silence before you turned to him.
âOkay, so if weâre going together, we have to know basic things about each other. So⊠how do you feel about twenty questions?â
Minho hated twenty questions, but he nodded anyway.
---
An hour or so later, you pouted as Minho helped you with your bags.
âWe werenât done with the game though.â
He finally managed to get the last of his bags and started walking towards the exit with you.
âI know, but donât worry. We can figure this out once we get to the hotel.â
âThank you so much Minho. I honestly canât explain how much it means to me, especially since youâre here on vacation.â
âNo, donât worry about it. My friend was a little busy for the next few days anyway.â
Lies. You would soon learn that whenever his left eye twitched, he was lying.
âNo, but stillâ-
âY/N!â
You froze. Youâd recognise that voice anywhere. Before you could react, you felt Andyâs arms wrap around you as he hugged you.
âY/N! Iâm so glad you could come!
Minho stiffened when he noticed how uncomfortable you were with Andyâs overfamiliarity. Minho didnât like him. Something about his behaviour with you was odd. Liza also hugged a visibly uncomfortable you and smiled.
âY/N! The reason this is all happening!â
Your fake smile slipped. And that was when Minho couldnât watch this anymore. Again, he found himself doing something he would never otherwise do. He walked forward, wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you closer.
âHi. You must be the happy couple.â
Your tense body relaxed a little when you heard his voice and felt his arm around you, which was odd. You always took a while to warm up to strangers. Andyâs expression tensed though.
âAnd you are?â
Minho stuck out his hand.
âIâm her boyfriend.â
Your breath hitched for a second and a light blush spread across your cheeks. You had been planning on introducing him as a close friend. Oh well.
Andy took his hand and smiled a visibly forced smile.
âOh, I didnât know she was seeing someone.â
His grip on Minhoâs hand tightened.
Minhoâs eyebrows shot up. Oh. So, Andy was that kind of guy. The one who felt oddly possessive over his girlfriends no matter how badly he treated them. Scum.
Minhoâs grip tightened even more.
âWell, I doubt you know much about her anyway.â
Your eyes shot up from your fake smile to stare at Minho in shock. You did not see snarky Minho coming.
Andy just stood there for a minute with his eyes wide. He couldnât believe what he heard. When he finally got around to reacting, Minho had already moved on to shaking Lizaâs hand and offering her a smile. It was fake, and you knew this because every time he had smiled at you, with that ridiculously adorable smile that just lit up his whole face, you found yourself melting. Andy, however, interrupted your thoughts. In a mocking tone, he asked,
âIâve known Y/N for 8 years. How long have you known her for?â
You glared at Andy, and wrapped your hand in Minhoâs, prepared to leave and apologise to Minho about Andyâs behaviour later, when Minho replied in a tone of pure ice.
âLong enough to know her worth.â
Your jaw dropped. Lizaâs smile was long gone and Andy was practically red with anger. So was Minho. On the outside, he seemed calm, cool and collected, but he hated the way Andy treated you and felt so entitled to your kindness. The way he treated you when you were so clearly uncomfortable was just the tipping point. A smile tugged at your lips, even though you made a half-hearted attempt to glare at Minho. He pulled you a little closer, shooting you the smile that made you lose track of thought.
Andy was furious and it was clear Minho wasnât going to back down. It was also clear that you werenât going to do anything to stop Minho. It wasnât like Minho was lying about something. You were at an impasse. So, when Liza awkwardly suggested they show you guys to your room in the hotel, everyone jumped at that chance.
Half an hour later, the four of you walked in awkward silence as Liza led you to your room. She offered you a genuine smile.
âHere you go Y/N. We picked one of the pool facing rooms because you like those.â
You struggled, but smiled back at her. It was their wedding. You were not going to be unnecessarily mean.
You and Minho walked in and when you saw the large bed in the middle of the room, your eyebrows shot up. Natasha, one of the two friends you had really missed, told you that all the rooms had two beds.Â
âWhy is there only one damn bed here?â
Minho blushed and looked away, but you jumped when you heard Andy.
âWhy? Is sharing a bed a problem?â
You turned around to find Andy right behind you, about to lean on your shoulder. Before you could even react though, Minho stepped in between.
âNo, absolutely not a problem.â
âOh yeah? Then why did she sound so annoyed?â
Both you and Liza were glaring at Andy, though for very different reasons.
Minho closed his eyes for a second and decided to just go for it. No matter what happened, he would not let Andy bother you any more than he already had. He wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you close.
âWe had a bit of an argument before getting here. But weâll be fine, right babe?â
If you thought your heart was beating fast because he called you âbabeâ, when you looked up at him and he placed a soft kiss on your forehead, you thought it would burst out of your chest.
His hand slipped a little lower, from your waist to your hips and played with the knot holding your dress up. He had the most wicked smirk on his face when he mumbled,
âBesides, these things have a way of working themselves out, right princess?â
Andy let out disgusted snort, grabbed Lizaâs hand and stomped off, but you didnât register any of that. You could only register the look in Minhoâs eyes and the way your knees were weakening. DidâŠdid you like him?

The Masked Singer Season 6 Costumes (Ranking & Opinions/Guesses)
Hello everyone! We are back baby! Welcome (or welcome back) to Ana's Masked Singer recap, where I, Ana, talk about this not so little show called The Masked Singer, not sure if you have heard of it lol. ITâS SEASON 6 TIME EVERYONE, which means that when a new season is upon us, we gotta rate some costumes (hey, I do make the rules, and thatâs a special tradition we do here in case you are new⊠if you are new, hi, welcome, have a seat, get a cookie, some dinner, whatever you would like, and relax we are about to go on a ride of sorts with costumes). Having said that, letâs get started!
Preface: The show will air September 22 and 23 as a two night premiere and costumes are being revealed little by little at the moment (When I am writing this, idk how many contestants there will be in total so this might be more than 1 part long)
Preface over⊠introducing the new costumes! *INITATE DRUMROLL PLEASE*
1. Banana Split đđš
Thoughts: Itâs a cute idea nglâŠ. It kinda makes me sad that there was already a banana costume and an ice cream costume and they just kinda put it together, but itâs still an adorable idea. I love pair costumes on the show, so this is very cute, the cartoon nature of it is super fun.
Prediction: (I am gonna put a prediction on who I think it could be, like whether itâs an athlete, musician, a pair of siblings, a couple, etc.) I think they are a couple, probably married or played a married couple on TV⊠I am also gonna dream cast this for fun: my dream cast for Banana Split would be either Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard or Fran Drescher and Charles Shaughnessy (who played Fran and Max on The Nanny, who were love interests/a married couple on the show)
First Clue: 3 pair of đČ with the numbers adding to 6
Rating: 10/10
2. Hamster đč
Thoughts: itâs soooo fluffy and cute omg I love it⊠I really hope this is a good singer because I just love this costume, it is too cute to be sent home the first week (Iâm looking at you Gremlin). Everything about this costume is so cool and whimsical, any child (and me) would go crazy for the hamster.
Prediction: My brain automatically goes to an athlete who can sing (hopefully) but from experience with the show, this seems like an athlete would be under this mask⊠but another part of me thinks it might be an actor, so I am torn between the 2: actor or athlete (hopefully who can sing ok)⊠probably male I predict. Dream cast actor wise would be Jack Black and athlete wise I have no idea because I know close to nothing about sports and I donât wanna embarrass myself here with names
First Clue: A whistle
Rating: 10/10!
3. Cupcake đ§
Thoughts: This is a costume I have been waiting for a while⊠I love I so much. It reminds me of the cupcake float from Victorious (if anyone knows that reference I applaud you) and I really love it honestly.
Prediction: An actress or/and singer (female), I low key want it to be like one of the actresses I grew up on like anyone who used to be on Nickelodeon or Disney Channel⊠so my dream cast would be between Liz Gillies (who played Jade on Victorious), Victoria Justice (Tori also on Victorious) or Sabrina Carpenter (from Girl Meets World on Disney Channel)
First Clue: đ§ pointing North
Rating: 10/10!
4. Mallard (Duck) đŠ
Thoughts: Wow, this one is really dope and dapper looking, it kind of reminds me of Giraffe from season 4, I really like the look of it. Also, I heard from the preview that he can sing a mean country song, so Iâm excited, I hope heâs good, fingers crossed.
Prediction: From what Robin Thicke said in the preview, perhaps a country singer or an actor who can sing country. My dream cast would probably be Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, or LeAnn Rimesâs husband (who was on that Netflix show about country music so I guess he can do a country song idk) Eddie Cibrian
First Clue: Red telephone âïž
Rating: 10/10
5. Dalmatian đ¶
Thoughts: This one is also pretty cool, I really hope someone in sports isnât under there because that would be way too predictable⊠it reminds me of last seasonâs Bulldog mask which ended up being Nick Cannon⊠but like cooler for some reason
Prediction: Iâm gonna go off the cuff here (since those kind of responses work for this show lol) and I think it might be a rapper of some sort, similar to like Frog or Chameleon. My dream cast for this one would probably be Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg (lolll get it⊠probably not tho), or Chance the Rapper
First Clue: Eagles đŠ
Rating: 9/10
6. Octopus đ
Thoughts: This is my first time seeing the octopus, since it was just revealed today⊠but I really like the vibe, even though it is a bit of an unconventional twist on an octopus. I like the idea of an octopus for this season since so many international versions have it and the American one really needed it. Itâs cool ngl, I was hoping for more of an authentic octopus tentacle thing instead of just the pants but it is cool regardless
Prediction: I think this is a male actor or singer, someone a bit older or someone popular from the 80s or 90s. I am in between like a member of Boyz 2 Men, Ted Danson, or Lance Bass for a dream cast.
First Clue: Cookie đȘ dunked in milk đ„
Rating: 8/10
7. Bull đ
Thoughts: I really like what Masked Singer did with the bull, making it look like a Spanish matador which is super cool and also ironic in a funny way. It looks really cool, kinda reminds me of the Dragon from season 4. I like it a lot tbh.
Prediction: I think this might be a male actor or musician⊠I am thinking similar my prediction to Octopus, either older or popular from the 80s-90s. Again, dream cast wise, I would say someone from Boyz 2 Men, AJ McClain from Backstreet Boys, or like a legend like Paul McCartney
First Clue: Lions and Tigers
Rating: 9/10
8. Queen of Hearts đ«
Thoughts: Itâs a dope costume, but the one eye and the mouth is kinda creepy looking tbh. I do like the idea of an actual heart with a crown being the Queen of Hearts instead of like a similar thing to Alice in Wonderlandâs Queen of Hearts.
Prediction: Probably a female actress or TV personality (probably from reality TV perhaps), age wise I am not too sure but it might be a shorter girl. Dream cast wise I would say Liza Koshy, Nicole Richie, or Paris Hilton.
First Clue: Horses
Rating: 8/10
9. Baby ïżŒïżŒđ¶đŒ
Thoughts: Damn, thatâs a creepy baby and Masked Singer confirmed on Instagram that it was their biggest costume yet, which their previous biggest one was 7 feet, so a huge baby makes it even more terrifying like wow! However, having said that, part of me is pretty intrigued to see who the hell is under this mask. Iâm sure they cannot sing thoâŠ
Prediction: My mind straight goes to an male athlete because that would be so funny and kind of a troll on Masked Singerâs part⊠and thatâs most of the big people we have seen thus far. So, dream cast wise, you are allowed to laugh at me but my mind immediately went to Shaq (Shaquille OâNeal) because heâs huge and if you are gonna go big for someone, it would be for Shaq.
First Clue: "This pacifier sucker never claimed to be classy, especially when I get gassy"
Rating: 6/10
10. Beach Ball đ
Thoughts: Yeah, there is no way a human could fit in that thing, but itâs cool regardless⊠I also saw that it has two faces. Thatâs super interesting to me honestly, it reminds me of Snail from last season who ended up being a Muppet, so this is a bit reminiscent of that. I like it, this is the most intriguing one thus far.
Prediction: As I kind of hinted at in my thoughts, I feel like this is a Muppet or puppet of some kind, round two! There might be more than one puppet in there because of the two faces, but I am gonna assume one for dream cast reasons, I really want it to be Miss Piggy because it would be funny with Kermit being there last season.
First Clue: 2 band-aids shaped like an X
Rating: 8/10
Thatâs it for part 1! Stay tuned for part 2 for more costumes and predictions! See you guys then! đđŒ
* This post was edited on September 13th to add the 1st clues from the sneak peak episode that aired on September 12th but even though some of my thoughts have changed (especially with Queen of Hearts), I will not be changing them and I can elaborate better when the episode airs *

Youâre The Boss At Home
Summary: Brianâs frustrated and Y/N decides to let him take it out on her ;)
Word Count: 3.2k

A/N: Taking a short break from Soft in Love for some good olâ beardy Bri smut. For Liza. I love you so much, bby, I hope this cheers you up <3
Warning(s): Smut! This is pure smut, yâall. All the usual stuff. Oral (both M and F receiving), dom!Brian, beard kink (is that a thing?)etc...
*****
Brian was late. Again.
You reminded yourself that his job was important to him, and his talent was one of the things you found most attractive about him. But nights like this, when you were alone and wide awake and needy...it became difficult to be understanding about his long hours in the studio.
With an annoyed sigh you reached for your book - The Hobbit - which you were reading for probably the one hundredth time. Something about the tale of Bilbo and Thorin and the rest just captivated you. From the time you were a child, you adored that story. It was a comforting thing when you were feeling upset.
Your annoyance on this particular night was not unfounded. It had been four whole days since you had even seen your boyfriend. Between studio time, your own job, and sleep, you kept missing each other. You felt him crawl into bed in the wee hours of the morning, but you didnât even get to speak. Your eyes would flutter open to say hello, but heâd be out, completely wiped from his long day.Â
And you wanted him. Wanted him, wanted him.
Your thoughts of Brian were driving you wild. Unable to focus on your book, you set it back on the coffee table, rubbing your thighs together for some much needed friction. You glanced at the clock. It was half past midnight. Brian usually got home around one in the morning. You wondered if you had time to get yourself off before he did.
You also toyed with the idea of teasing yourself so he might walk in while you were laid out and messy. Would it arouse him? Or would he only find it a nuisance? That would depend entirely on his mood when he came through the door.
You didnât have much time to contemplate. Just as you were reaching to unbutton your pants to just take care of yourself and go to bed, the front door opened harshly. You heard Brian cursing as he crossed the threshold, shaking his head so his curls moved gently around him. Then he slammed the door closed and stormed into the living room.
Your jaw nearly dropped when you took him in. Because you hadn't seen him, you didnât realize that he had not shaved in days. The stubble on his face framed it so perfectly. It made him look so manly and strong. You felt your panties get damp just looking at him. Especially since he was clearly frustrated and angry, like he was ready to throw something.
Throw me, you thought to yourself.
Brian was rarely - if ever - very rough with you, and you loved that about him. But seeing him now, you wanted him to manhandle you so badly you almost whined.
âHey,â you managed to say as he shrugged his jacket off and tossed it away. âYou alright?â
âNo!â he snapped.
Why was that tone turning you on?
âWhat happened?â you asked gently.
He began pacing back and forth, irritation coming off of him in waves.
âFucking Roger thinks his fucking music is the best fucking thing in the universe!â he began. âAnd because Freddie agreed with him on one thing - one! - he thought he was suddenly the boss or something!â
Your eyes followed him like a jungle cat ready to pounce. You sat up on your knees and watched his body as he spoke. His arms moving created a delicious ripple over his back. His hands running through his hair made you think of his fingers in your mouth. That beard...fuck that beard looked so good and you ached to feel it scratch up your thighs.
âIâm sorry it was such a hard day,â you said.Â
You got up from the couch and approached him, wondering if he could see how hungry you were for him. He couldnât, unfortunately, since he was still too caught up in his anger at Roger.
An idea came to you
You slid your arms around Brianâs waist and pulled him close to you, pushing your breasts into his chest. He settled against you, wrapping you up in his arms, and sighing. You felt him smell your hair.
âBrian,â you said softly.
âHm?â he returned.
âYou wanna be the boss?â you asked huskily.
He pulled half away and looked down at you, brow furrowing. You held his gaze, but your eyes flickered down to his lips, surrounded by that fucking beardâŠ
âDo you want to be the boss?â you repeated, running a finger down his chest.
âIâm not following,â he said.
You resisted the urge to roll your eyes.
âYou said Roger was acting like the boss of everything at the studio,â you reminded him. âSo, Iâm offering you your chance. You can be the boss at home, baby. Iâll do whatever to tell me to.â
You slid your hand further down and cupped him through his trousers. He gasped softly and you held him closer. You moved your hand back and forth, feeling him harden. You pressed your lips to his chest.
âTake your day out on your girl, Bri,â you whispered. âFuck m-â
He cut you off with a deep, searing kiss. The stubble felt incredible against your lips, making you moan into his mouth. He smacked your hand away from his crotch as he kissed you, so you wrapped your arms around his neck, standing on your tiptoes to do so. He lifted you off the ground an inch or so before setting you down.
He pulled his lips away and you whined in protest, but he gave you a hard look.
âGet upstairs,â he said firmly. âBedroom.â
You nodded, biting your lip with excitement. You looked him over once more before turning and running up the stairs. You heard him following close behind. You swallowed a giggle, desperate to maintain the mood. Just the idea of Brian becoming dominant had your mind reeling.
When you reached the bedroom, Brian closed the door. You turned and faced him, chest heaving, ready for your next instructions. His eyes roved over your body. They gleamed with desire.
âTake off your clothes,â he ordered.
You sprang into action. Forgoing the buttons of your sweater, you tugged it over your head instead. The tank top underneath came with it. With rushed hands, you unclasped your bra and threw it away.
âYouâre very eager,â he remarked with a smirk.
You whined.
âI want to please you,â you returned. âI wanna do a good job for you.â
You saw a flicker of shock in his eyes. He was a bit taken aback by how much you wanted to submit to him. He wondered if you had been wanting this for a while and never said anything. But he couldnât think about that now. Especially with your gorgeous breasts out for him, looking entirely too wonderful to not have his mouth on them.
âStop,â he said as you began to unbutton your jeans.
You immediately froze and waited for him. He stalked over and stood in front of you. Your cheeks were already flushed as you gazed up at him, chest rising and falling with your deep breaths. His fingers brushed the sides of your breasts and you sighed.
âGod, your tits are beautiful,â he said, looking adoringly at them.
He tweaked your left nipple between his thumb and forefinger and you squeaked with surprise before letting out a moan. He leaned down and took the right one in his mouth, sucking lightly and flicking his tongue across the hardened tip.
âShit,â you hissed, hands flying to his hair.
Your hips bucked toward him and he chuckled. You felt the sound against your skin and whined, pushing him closer to you. The beard felt so good on your tits. The delightful little pricks on your skin made you shiver. When he switched sides you moaned loudly.
âBrianâŠâ
âYes, dove?â he returned.
âPlease,â you whimpered.
He rose to his full height.
âYouâre forgetting Iâm the one in charge tonight,â he said, and the darkness of his tone almost made your knees buckle. âWeâre doing what I want, whenever I want.â
âI-Iâm sorry,â you stammered.
âItâs alright, baby girl,â he said, stroking your cheek with his thumb. âIâll just teach you a quick lesson.â
You nodded eagerly.
âThatâs a good girl,â he said. âNow, jeans off. Panties off.â
You obeyed, shimmying them quickly down your legs and stepping out of them. Your whole body was flushed with heat and arousal. Brian examined you. Then, he dragged the fingers of his right hand from your throat, down your chest, between your breasts, and down your tummy. He stopped just above your center.
He brought his lips to your ear. âIâm gonna touch you. Youâll be wet for me, wonât you?â
âOh, God, yes,â you sighed.
You could already feel how soaked you were. You were dripping onto your thighs. He dipped his finger between your legs, teasing your entrance. You took your bottom lip between your teeth to hold yourself back from begging again.
âOh, you are a good girl,â he said.
His hot breath on your neck sent another shiver up your spine.
âYouâve still got a punishment, though,â he went one. âGet on the bed. Hands and knees.â
You scrambled up over the comforter and took the position. You felt cold without his body so close to you. And you waited. It felt like hours instead of seconds that passed as you anticipated what he might do. You started to open your mouth to ask when - SMACK. His palm landed a swift spank onto your ass.
A guttural moan escaped you. The sting sent the heat in your belly all through your veins. Your whole body was on fire for Brian.Â
He spanked you again and your arms almost went out from under you. You cried out his name. When you heard a rumble in his chest in response, you nearly came undone.
His hands came to your hips, gripping them firmly. He shoved you roughly to the side. You welcomed it, since your limbs were so weak with desire.Â
Heâs throwing me around, you thought with delight. Heâs so fucking hot right now.
The look in his eyes made you squirm.
âOpen your legs,â he ordered. âI want to taste your little cunt.â
You whined again and obeyed him. He dragged you toward the end of the bed. Excitement coursed through you. Finally you were getting that beard where you wanted it. He wrapped his long arms around your thighs to keep them open. Your hips automatically rocked toward his face.Â
He locked eyes with you, smirked, and then dove in.Â
He didnât ease into it like he normally did. No, not tonight. He was absolutely devouring you, taking exactly what he wanted, how he wanted it. In seconds, you were a writhing, moaning mess. Your brain went fuzzy as the pleasure overwhelmed you. One hand slipped into Brianâs mane of curls. The other grasped at the comforter, balling it into your fist as you held on for dear life. His tongue and lips were fixed on your clit, stimulating it relentlessly.
That coil inside you was wound so tight it was almost painful. But you held back your release. You wanted his permission.
âCum for me,â he demanded, as if he read your mind.
âBRIAN!â you screamed as the coil exploded.
Your hips still rocked against him as you rode out your orgasm against his mouth. You felt how much you gushed as he lapped it up. Your clit twitched in response, more sensitive than you could ever remember.
You panted and finally took in all the sensations. Your skin burned from where his beard pressed into it and it was heavenly. Your legs trembled as Brian ran his hands over your thighs, standing between them and hovering over you.
âYouâre so fucking beautiful when you cum,â he said gently. âSo good for me...doing exactly as I say.â
He bent down and pressed a soft kiss to your lips.
âLie there a moment, catch you breath,â he told you. âIâve got to get undressed.â
âCan I help you?â you offered.
He chuckled. âNo, darling girl. Save your energy.â
You didnât question him, despite how badly you wanted to. What did he want you to save energy for? You were excited to find out.
You closed your eyes as you relaxed a moment, getting warm all over again as you recalled the last few minutes. Brian had never gone down on you with such vigor, and you were already feeling some soreness. You werenât the least bit sorry about it either. The sting from his beard, the ache from the pressure...it was all a reminder of a primal desire you and Brian felt for each other. You hoped going forward, you could have more sex like this.
You heard his belt hit the floor and cracked an eye open to look. Brian stood in front of the bed, naked and rock hard. Your mouth watered at the sight of his long cock, and you wondered if he would have you blow him. To your surprise, he walked over to his side of the bed and sat back against the pillows.
He beckoned you closer with his fingers. You rolled back onto your knees and crawled over. He watched you hungrily.
âSuck my cock,â he ordered.
You threw one leg over his and slowly lowered your head toward his tip. You kitten licked it, tasting some pre-cum and moaning. You swirled your tongue around his tip as you opened your mouth. Then, he grabbed your hair roughly and made you look at him.
âNo teasing,â he said.
You nodded and he released you. You took his cock into your mouth as far as it could go. He was long, so you wrapped your hand around the remainder. You began a slow, even rhythm. Brian groaned and his hips moved toward you. You placed your free hand on his hip bone, gently circling it with your thumb.
âFuck, Y/N,â he sighed, his head falling back.
You picked up speed and he whined, making your stomach churn with need. He laced his fingers through your hair again and guided you to precisely the pace he wanted. He also pushed himself just a little deeper, so his tip brushed the back of your throat. You didnât dare gag.
âG-good girl,â he choked out when his cock twitched in your mouth. âBut you need to stop.â
You halted, coming off his shaft with a soft pop. His cock was fully leaking now, and you were aching to have it inside you. There was nothing sexier to you than Brian looking as needy for you as you were for him.
âRide me,â he growled.
He tugged you toward him, capturing your lips in a sloppy kiss. Your pussy hovered above him, his tip brushing through your slick folds. You whimpered into his mouth.
âI know, baby,â he sighed. âFuck, me too.â
He grabbed your hip in one hand and his cock with the other. He lined up with your entrance.
âDown,â he demanded.
You lowered yourself onto his cock, holding his shoulders for balance. You both groaned as he filled you up slowly. He always stretched you a little, and his shape was perfect. Once he was sheathed entirely inside you, you shuddered at the feeling.
âRide me,â he said again, more in control this time.
You didnât hesitate. You began rocking your hips against his, moaning as you felt him hit your g-spot. His hands cupped your ass and squeezed.
âFaster,â he instructed.
Again, you complied, picking up your pace. High, breathy moans fell from your lips as you bounced on his perfect cock. He felt so fucking good. Then he held you close and latched his lips onto your neck, his beard scratching up more of your tender skin.
âOoooohhhh, fuck,â you cried.
âFeel so fucking good, baby girl,â he whispered in your ear. âTake my cock so well. And your pussy is so fucking tight - fuck!â
He thrusted up into you and you let out a scream.
He was matching your thrusts steadily now and you felt yourself coming to the edge.
âReaching your limit, gorgeous?â he teased. âGonna cum again for me?â
You nodded, mouth hanging open and little whimpers coming from your throat.
âDo it,â he told you. âCum on my cock.â
You took him down and held yourself there as your walls clamped hard around him. You held him tightly as your body shook with your release. He groaned at your tightness and the feeling of your juices dripping onto him.
âThatâs it,â he cooed. âThatâs it, dove.â
You couldnât hold yourself up. Your legs trembled. You fell against his chest but he shook his head. Taking your shoulders, he flipped you onto your back. Then, he began pounding into you. Brutally, harshly, rapidly fucking you until you could see only stars.
âBrian,â you mewled.Â
You werenât sure how much more you could take. He took your face in his hand and made you look at him.
âBeg,â he spat. âBeg for me to cum inside you.â
Your whole body quivered. Just when you didnât think he could get any hotter, he ordered you to beg for him. You might have cum again if you werenât already so exhausted.
âPlease, Bri, please,â you begged. âFill me up, baby. Want you to fill me, use me, claim me - Jesus, fuck!â
It felt so good your head fell back again.
âBrian!â you sobbed. âPlease, please - oh, God - pleasepleasepleaseâŠâ
You could say nothing else, you were so fucked out. Brian felt you clench again and he buried himself inside you, finishing with a groan. White exploded behind your eyes as you came again, milking him for everything he had. He thrusted into you a few more times and you rocked your hips as you both came down, riding it out together.
âHoly...holy shit, Brian,â you panted.
He pulled out gently, and you whimpered at the empty feeling. Then he rolled onto his back to gather you up in his arms. He pressed his lips to your forehead and stroked your hair.
âAre you okay?â he asked.
âBetter than okay,â you assured him. âFuck, baby, you were...you were incredible.â
He chuckled and kissed you again. You looked up at him.
âFeel better?â you wondered.
âMuch,â he replied. âWhat made you want to do something like this?â
You blushed and hid your face in his chest.
âDonât be shy now, dove, what was it?â he pressed. âYouâve seen me angry about work before and itâs never led to that.â
âItâs embarrassing,â you muttered.
âIâm sure it isnât.â
You shook your head and he sighed.
âDarling, just tell me,â he insisted.
âYour beard!â you admitted, refusing to look at him. âYou look so hot with facial hair, and I wanted you to just take me.â
He cupped your cheek in his palm and nudged you meet his eyes.
âWell,â he said. âMission accomplished.â
âAnd youâre not upset any more,â you reminded him.
He gave you a warm squeeze and you hummed.
âBri?â you said bashfully.
His eyes had fallen closed but he wasnât yet asleep.
âYes, dove?â
âCan we do this again sometime?âÂ
He opened one eye as he grinned at you.
âSure,â he said. âIâll tell Roger to piss me off more often. Shouldnât be difficult for him.â
You giggled, pecked him on the lips, and turned the light out before cuddling into him for the night.

2020 Movie Odyssey Award for Best Original Song (final round)
(Yet again, tumblr has not fixed bullet indentations. So this post doesnât look as clean on your dashboards.)
TAGGING (among others): @addaellis, @cokwong, @emilylime5, @halfwaythruthedark, @idontknowmuchaboutmovies, @introspectivemeltdown, @maximiliani, @memetoilet, @monkeysmadeofcheese, @myluckyerror, @plus-low-overthrow, @shootingstarvenator, @themusicmoviesportsguy, @theybecomestories, @umgeschrieben, @underblackwings, @voicetalentbrendanâ, @thewolfofelectricavenue, and @yellanimal.
I would also like to tag some followers/previous participants as well who I also would welcome to participate in this final round: @birdsongvelvetâ, @bitch-geniusâ, @dog-of-ultharâ, @loveless422â, @lvl9gayâ, @mehetibelâ, @phendranaedgeâ, @poncho-honchoâ, @sayafâ, @shadesofhappyâ, @thethirdman8â, @uncoolforelimbâ, and @wehadfacesthenâ. Regardless of whether you were tagged or not, all of my followers can participate if they wish.
Happy Holidays to all! After a fascinating preliminary round, now begins the final round to 2020's Movie Odyssey Award for Best Original Song (MOABOS). This is the eighth time it has been contested and the seventh year it has been open to involvement from family, friends, and tumblr followers. I begin every new year not knowing whether I will be able to share with all of you these songs and the movies they come from around November/December. So on the day that MOABOS becomes viable (usually around mid-year), it's a long stretch of anticipation to this point.
For those who have never participated in this before, my classic movie blog traditionally ends the year by honoring some of the best achievements from movies that I saw for the first time this calendar year (the "Movie Odyssey"; rewatches do not count) with an Oscar-like ceremony. I choose all the nominees and winners from each category, save one: Best Original Song. It is the only category I can think of that does not require you to watch several movies in their entirety. I know some of you wonder why I bother with this quixotic social experiment. But I have always considered it a sort of cinematic-musical thank-you for your moral support in various ways - in the hopes of introducing to all of you films and music you may not have otherwise encountered or sought. A small slice of the 2020 Movie Odyssey, so to speak.
This final will be contested by sixteen songs. As I've mentioned before, for the first time ever, there are no MOABOS entries originating from this year that made the competition - a MOABOS first. I have seen one 2020 film since the prelim (Wolfwalkers... at a drive-in mind you), but this entire final is one of yesteryear. Even without any 1930s songs, this year's final is probably the oldest on average. There are some very recognizable songs that made it straight to the final, bypassing the preliminary; those songs are contained within. Among them, a city anthem and a song that should be a city's anthem. Elsewhere, this is the first final to ever feature two classic Bollywood songs - but no classic Bollywood song has ever cracked the top ten. Elvis has three songs in this final, a MOABOS joint record along with Prince and the Bee Gees (both in 2016). But also appearing in multiple entries are Frank Sinatra and Liza Minnelli, Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday. With five non-English-language songs in the final, this yearâs final ties 2017 with the largest contingent of finalists not in the English language.
INSTRUCTIONS Please rank (#1-16) your choices in order. The top ten songs will receive nominations. The tabulation method used in the preliminary round is being used for the final only as the second tiebreaker (the tabulation method that will be used principally for the final - aka "single transferable vote" - is described in the âread moreâ at the bottom). There is no minimum or maximum amount of songs you can rank, but because of the nature of single transferable vote, it is highly recommended to rank as many songs as possible, rather than only one or two. Those who rank fewer songs run a greater risk of their ballots being discarded in the later rounds of tabulation. Again, this is all described in the âread moreâ.
Please consider to the best of your ability: how musically interesting the song is (incl. and not limited to musical phrasing and orchestration); its lyrics; context within the film (contextual blurbs provided for every entry for those who haven't seen the films); choreography/dance direction (if applicable); and the song's cultural impact/life outside the film (if applicable, and, in my opinion, least important factor). Imperfections in audio and video quality may not be used against any song. I encourage you to send in comments and reactions with your rankings - it makes the process more enjoyable for you and myself!
The deadline for submission is Thursday, December 31 at 8 PM Pacific Time. That is 6 PM Hawaii/Aleutian Time / 10 PM Central / 11 PM Eastern. That deadline is also Friday, January 1 at 2 AM GMT / 3 AM CET / 4 AM EET. This deadline has been pushed back two consecutive times due to a sizable non-response rate - but I very much do not want to do so again.
I have compiled most of this final round's songs into this YouTube playlist. Please note that neither of Kaagaz Ke Phoolâs two songs are contained in the playlist. You will need to access them using their respective links.
Enjoy the music! Feel free to listen as many times as you need, and I hope you discover music and movies you may have never otherwise heard of that you find fascinating. The following is formatted... ("Song title", composer and lyricist, film title):
2020 MOVIE ODYSSEY AWARD FOR BEST ORIGINAL SONG â FINAL ROUND
âAngelaâ, music and lyrics by JosĂ© Feliciano and Janna Merlyn Feliciano, Aaron Loves Angela (1975)
Performed by José Feliciano
(English-language version) / (Spanish single version)
Played over the opening credits to this teenage drama that is partly a blaxploitation film, partly an interracial coming-of-age romance. The movie wasn't a hit, but the Spanish-language version of this song was received well in Latin America.
âBlue Shadows on the Trailâ, music and lyrics by Eliot Daniel and Johnny Lange, Melody Time (1948)
Performed by Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers
This is the introductory song to the final segment of Melody Time. That segment is dedicated to the legend of Pecos Bill, and this atmospheric song leads into the telling of that story.
âCanât Help Falling in Loveâ, music and lyrics by Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore, and George David Weiss, Blue Hawaii (1961)
Performed by Elvis Presley
(film version) / (single version)
Chadwick "Chad" Gates (Elvis) has just returned to his home state of Hawai'i after a stint in the Army. Not wanting to work on his father's pineapple plantation (seriously), he rekindles his relationship with his girlfriend, Maile (Joan Blackman). This song is sung as an accompaniment to a music box he gives to Maile's grandmother (Flora Kaai Hayes, a former Hawaiian Territorial Representative to the U.S. House). This song is among Elvis' best-known and most widely-covered.
âDekhi Zamaane Ki Yaari / Bichhde Sabhi Baari Baariâ, music by S.D. Burman, lyrics by Kaifi Azmi, Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959, India)
Performed by Mohammad Rafi (dubbing Guru Dutt)
Lyrics in Hindi - roughly, "I Have Seen How Deeply Friendship Lies / I Have Seen People Abandon Me One by One"
Part 1 (3:44-8:27) / Part 2 (2:16:29-2:20:42)
Make sure to turn on the videoâs English captions
In this romantic tragedy, Suresh Sinha (Dutt) is a washed-up director looking back on his life. In the first part, the song leads into the rest of the film - which is almost entirely a flashback. In brief, Suresh is unhappily married to a woman whose in-laws look down on him because, to them, working in films is contemptible to their social class. Suresh meets a woman, Shanti (Waheeda Rehman), on accident and she is soon cast as the lead for his next film. They fall in love, but it is never consummated for various reasons. Eventually, his career crashes after a box office bomb and her career is ascendant. Leading into the second part of the song, Suresh is penniless and working as an extra at the movie studio. Shanti recognizes him, wants to help, but he refuses to revive his career on the back of her success. Kaagaz Ke Phool has elements of autobiography, and Suresh's fate has parallels with what happened to Dutt after this film was released.
â(Do You Know What It Means to Miss) New Orleansâ, music by Louis Alter, lyrics by Edgar De Lange, New Orleans (1947)
Initially performed by Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong and his band; reprised by various
(initial film performance) / (Louis Armstrong single version)
Endie (Holiday in her only appearance in a feature film) is a maid to the affluent Smith family, whose matriarch looks down on jazz as a disreputable genre of music. In secret, Endie frequents a gambling and jazz establishment in the historic Storyville district of New Orleans and performs here with Louis Armstrong (playing himself) and others when she gets the chance. The matriarch's daughter (Dorothy Patrick), an classical operatic soprano, is transfixed by this new music she has never heard before.
â Exsultate Justiâ, music and lyrics by John Williams, Empire of the Sun (1987)
Performed by orchestra and chorus under the direction of Williams
Lyrics in Latin
In this historical epic, affluent British school boy Jamie Graham (a young Christian Bale) is living with his parents in Shanghai when the Japanese invade. Jamie is separated from his parents and placed in an internment camp. Soon before the end of WWII, the prisoners are moved elsewhere, but Jamie hides and stays put. This song plays as Jamie bikes around the empty camp and continues to play as he encounters liberating U.S. troops. Jamie is dirty and malnourished when found; one can argue that this song is used ironically. It plays once more over the end credits. "Exsultate Justi" is a variation on a theme John Williams develops over the course of the film and harkens back to Jamie's past, attending Anglican services with parents.
âFarewell to Storyville", music by Louis Alter, lyrics by Edgar De Lange, New Orleans (1947)
Performed by Louis Armstrong and his band, Billie Holiday, and company
In New Orleans, the Storyville district was a den of drinking, gambling, jazz, and prostitution. The district was the home to a heavily black populace. The U.S. military, about to establish a Naval base nearby, forces the city to close the district for good. This song is a swinging dirge to a center of jazz - a musical genre looked down upon by many of the city's upper-class whites due to its ties (real and imagined) to crime.
âHappy Endings", music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, New York, New York (1977)
Performed by Liza Minnelli and company (that's Jack Haley - who played the Tin Man and was, at the time, Minnelli's father-in-law - roughly seven minutes in)
(use in film) / (soundtrack version)
It is highly recommended one sees how this song is used in the film. Bear with me: this song is part of a movie within a movie. Within that movie within a movie, there is another movie. "Happy Endings" is the title end song to a film called Happy Endings within New York, New York. Singer Francine Evans (Liza Minnelli) has made it big as a recording artist and caps off her hit film, Happy Endings, with this song. We see Francine's ex, played by Robert De Niro, in the audience as the film ends. "Happy Endings" is a homage/deconstruction to midcentury Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) musicals. It serves the film as "The Broadway Melody" does to Singin' in the Rain (1952) or the 17-minute ballet does to conclude An American in Paris (1951).
âHere They Come (From All Over the World)", music and lyrics by P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri, The T.A.M.I. Show (1964)
Performed by Jan and Dean
The link above provides the entire film. You only need to watch from 0:00-4:11. If you like music from this era or want to hear more, this film is highly, highly recommended.
This is the opening credits song to a concert film recorded over two days in Santa Monica, California on October 28 and 29, 1964. The Teenage Awards Music International (T.A.M.I. - yes, I know it's an awkward name) Show included many of the most popular musical stars of that time - almost all of them name-dropped in this song. Jan and Dean, a surf music duo, served as hosts (and performed during) the show. You folks are lucky that this is the only original song from this film!
âIs There Still Anything That Love Can Do?", music and lyrics by YĂŽjirĂŽ Noda, Weathering with You (2019, Japan)
Performed by RADWIMPS
Lyrics in Japanese (translation)
Weathering with You is a romantic fantasy anime about a high school boy who runs away from his rural home to Tokyo, where he meets a girl who can manipulate the weather. It has been inexplicably raining for weeks without interruption in Tokyo, so they form a business to help clear the inclement weather for special events. The melody of this song is heard throughout the film's score. It does not appear with lyrics until late in the film. The song is played under the boy's seemingly impossible attempt to save her from an unwilling human sacrifice.
There is so much plot in this damn film (it's all Makoto Shinkai's fault) - I can't explain the context of the song or this movie in a reasonable amount of space.
âMoonlight Swimâ, music by Ben Weisman, lyrics by Sylvia Dee, Blue Hawaii (1961)
Performed by Elvis Presley
In a musical packed end-to-end with songs, Chadwick "Chad" Gates (Elvis) has taken a job with a tour guide agency. On his first day, he drives his first clients - a school teacher (who not so secretly is attracted to Chad) and four teenagers (one of whom becomes smitten) - to their destination.
âPersonalityâ, music by Jimmy Van Heusen, lyrics by Johnny Burke, Road to Utopia (1946)
Performed by Dorothy Lamour
(in-film performance) / (live radio performance)
In the fourth film of the Road to... comedy series, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby's characters have just overpowered two Alaskan thugs with a history of murderous violence. As they enter a saloon dressed up as those two thugs, all of the patrons - in a town that only knows the thugs by reputation - shut up in terror. They are treated to a performance by Sal (Lamour), who is trying to find a map of a gold mine that the real outlaws supposedly have. A visual narrator (Robert Benchley) interrupts the scene before the song briefly.
âPlease Donât Stop Loving Meâ, music and lyrics by Joy Byers, Frankie and Johnny (1966)
Performed by Elvis Presley
(in-film performance) / (single version)
Johnny (Elvis) and girlfriend Frankie (Donna Douglas) work on a Mississippi River riverboat as performers. Johnny is addicted to gambling and believes that another woman is spurring on his recent run of good luck. During a fit of jealousy-as-acting, Frankie accidentally shoots Johnny during a bit of musical theater (someone switched out the blanks for real bullets). This song occurs after Johnny has recovered from the accident.
âTheme from New York, New Yorkâ, music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, New York, New York (1977)
Performed by Liza Minnelli
(in-film performance) / (Frank Sinatra single)
For most of the film, saxophone player Jimmy Doyle (Robert De Niro) is trying to compose a song but cannot figure out the lyrics (this plays out as a subplot). His eventual girlfriend/later ex, Francine Evans (Minnelli) provides said lyrics. Some time well after they have broken up, he finds her singing this song - which he previously brought to the top of the jazz charts - in the nightclub where they first met. This film flopped (musical movies were out of fashion by the mid-'70s, and a musical didn't seem "on brand" for director Martin Scorsese). But the Frank Sinatra single popularized this song, and it has been used in many venues of popular culture.
âWaqt Ne Kiya Kya Haseen Sitamâ, music and lyrics by S.D. Burman, Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959, India)
Performed by Geeta Dutt (dubbing Waheeda Rehman)
Lyrics in Hindi - roughly, "Time Has Inflicted Such Sweet Cruelty On Us"
Song begins at 1:03:31 and ends at 1:07:51
Make sure to turn on the videoâs English captions
In this romantic tragedy told in flashback, Suresh Sinha (Guru Dutt) is a director looking back on his life. Suresh is unhappily married to a woman whose in-laws look down on him because, to them, working in films is contemptible to their social class. Suresh meets a woman, Shanti (Waheeda Rehman), on accident and she is soon cast as the lead for his next film. They fall in love, but it is never consummated for various reasons. This song is the most explicit statement of that love in this film. How much of the scene's set-up is observable by the characters is up to the viewer's interpretation.
âYou Make Me Feel So Youngâ, music by Josef Myrow, lyrics by Mack Gordon, Three Little Girls in Blue (1946)
Performed by Del Porter (dubbing Charles Smith) and Carol Stewart (dubbing Vera-Ellen)
(use in film) / (Frank Sinatra cover)
In this rarely-seen musical (*insert plea to Disney to restore the massive 20th Century Fox catalogue they now own and are almost certainly neglecting*), three chicken farmer sisters decide to travel to Atlantic City in hopes of marrying a rich husband when they learn their aunt's inheritance is not nearly as much as they want. There, youngest sister Myra (Vera-Ellen) - despite the sisters' original intentions of marrying men of wealth - becomes involved with a waiter named Mike (Charles Smith). They go on a date, and they sing this song. A somewhat overly-literal fantastical dancing sequence ensues, complete with Vera-Ellen's dancing skills. This song was popularized by Frank Sinatra years later and has long enjoyed status as a big band/jazz standard.
Contact me however you wish if you have questions or comments regarding MOABOS' processes or something specific about a song or a few. Please let me know as soon as possible if you are having difficulty accessing one of the songs (especially if it is region-locked) or if there is an error in the playlist.
Once more, I thank you all for your support for the Movie Odyssey, the blog, and for me personally - no matter how long Iâve known you or in what capacity. There are no hard feelings if you cannot get to this, although I will be checking in as the deadlines get close. Please wear a mask. Practice social distancing. We'll see each other again on the other side of this pandemic.
TABULATION The winner is determined by a process distinct from the preliminary round. For the final, the winner is chosen by the process known as single transferable vote (the Academy Awards uses this method to choose a Best Picture winner, visually represented here - you should really watch this video if the below doesnât make sense⊠which it probably wonât):
All #1 picks from all voters are tabulated. A song needs more than half of all aggregate votes to win (50% of all votes plus one⊠i.e. if there are thirty respondents, sixteen #1 votes are needed to win on the first count).
If there is no winner after the first count (as is most likely), the song(s) with the fewest #1 votes or points is/are eliminated. Placement will be determined by the tiebreakers described below. Then, we look at the ballots of those who voted for the most recently-eliminated song(s). Their votes then go to the highest-remaining and non-eliminated song on their ballot.
The process described in step #2 repeats until one song has secured 50% plus one of all votes. We keep eliminating nominees and transfer votes to the highest-ranked, non-eliminated song on each ballot. NOTE: It is possible after several rounds of counting that respondents who did not entirely fill in their ballots will have wasted their votes at the end of the process. For example, if a person voted the second-to-last place song as their #1, ranked no other songs, and the count has exceeded two rounds, their ballot is discarded (lowering the vote threshold needed to win), and they have no say in which song ultimately is the winner.
A song wins when it reaches more than fifty percent of all #1 and re-distributed votes.
Tiebreakers: 1) first song to receive 50% plus one of all #1 and transferred votes; 2) total points earned (this was the first tiebreaker in the preliminary round); 3) total #1 votes; 4) average placement on my ballot and my sisterâs ballot; 5) tie declared

No turning back || Ben Hardy (SMUT)
Summary:Â Y/Nâs had a crush on Ben for a while but they are just friends. What would happen if they were to confront each other about what they really feel, at last?
Pairing: Ben x fem!reader
Word count: 4.5 k+
Warnings: SMUT under the cut!, 18+, some language, protected sex (always stay safe folks), references to cheating, FLUFF hell yeah
A/N: sooo yeah. Here we are with another one shot and, guess what? Still about Ben! We love that British dork more than we should, donât judge us, people. We hope youâll enjoy, folks, let us know what you think.
âYou two are just made for each other, why donât you just get on with it?!â Lucy spoke from the screen of your laptop.
You chuckled and shook your head, wishing you could agree with her âI already told you: youâre crazy, my friendâ
âBullshit, y/n, and you know it. Why donât you just talk to him?â
You sighed âBecause, last time I checked he had a girlfriend, and I donât wanna mess around with anyoneâ
She rolled her eyes and smirked at you through the camera âCâ mon we both know thatâs never gonna last and if you donât act soon, youâll miss your chance, dollâ you see her becoming more serious âI donât wanna see you get hurt like last time, thatâs all Iâm sayingâ
It sincerely moved you how deeply she cared for you. She had always had your back and always had been there for you through the good and the ugly, just like you had been for her.
Since you had started hanging out with her and her friends from work (almost a year ago, right after she had finished shooting Bohemian Rhapsody), she had always told you she had seen a spark fly between you and Ben since you first met each other.
Deep down you knew she was right: you had felt something strange going on with the butterflies in your stomach when the handsome Englishman had firstly shaken your hand. Something in his big green eyes, in the huge smile he greeted you with and the quick wink he gave you, had surely moved something inside you.
You had developed a small crush on him at first, but had never said anything to anyone. Anyone except Lucy, that had immediately understood everything and had started to root for the two of you to end up together.
You had soon become a part of their small group and they had welcomed you gladly, making you feel like a vital part of their small gang. The relationships you developed with all of them were different but special in every kind of way: you were sure you could always count on Lucy (your oldest friend) and now Rami, her boyfriend, for some advice or for a quiet and light-hearted evening in front of the tv or out drinking, but you had to admit you always had a blast when you hang out with them and the rest of the guys: Joe, Gwilym, Allen and Ben. When all of the boys were reunited they could give the best of themselves and always managed to make you crack up with both the silliest or most sophisticated jokes.
You were proud to call them all your friends.
But lately, things with Ben had become hugely more complicated.
Nearly six months into your acquaintance to the group, Ben had met Liza through a mutual friend and had started going out with her. In a matter of two weeks, they were together.
She was sincerely a nice girl and you couldnât find a single thing that was wrong about her, not a single reason why they shouldnât have been together. Lucy insisted she wasnât worth half as much as you and that Ben honestly deserved better. And with better, she meant you, which usually made you either laugh or wonder if she was just saying that cause she was your friend.
âBenâs just reasoning with the wrong end of his bodyâ, she always repeated âYou just have to wait till he realises that. Or else Iâll make himâ
You always shook your head and smiled, but deep down, you hoped she was right. Your small crush had faded with the passing of months, segregated in a corner of your mind, and itâs not like you drooled behind him; however, you frequently found yourself wishing you could just for a moment, stop thinking and crash your lips onto his. Not to start anything serious, just to see what itâs like and to understand if the spark was just a spark or else, the possibility of something more.
âAnyhow,â Lucyâs cracking voice startled you from your thoughts. She was still on the other side of the screen âIâll be at your place at 6, please be ready or Iâll tell Rami to start the car and drive awayâ
âI promise I will. Bye Luceâ
Turning off your computer, you finished packing and turned on the shower. You and the gang had planned a weekend in Ramiâs cabinet up in the hills to get away from the everyday life and stress. And obviously to drink everything you wanted without anyone having to drive.
Ben obviously wasnât coming. He told you all he had plans with Liza, but everybody knew the truth. Liza was not completely fond of him hanging out with you. She didnât know you had had feelings for him, or at least thatâs what you knew; and yet somehow, as their relationship was growing, you realised Ben would always casually miss the seldom Saturday night out, just cause there would have been Lucy, Rami and the two of you.
Every now and then you felt like bursting out and standing up for your friendship, confronting Liza to tell her she had nothing to worry, that you would have not jumped on him when she wasnât watching or stolen him from her. But you always clenched your fists and shut your mouth: if Ben really wanted to save your friendship, he would have talked to Liza to find a way.
It broke your heart thinking he did not care about you as much as you did about him.
When you arrived at the cabinet you immediately hugged Gwilym and Joe who were already there with some bags and boxes. You were ready to bet half of them contained alcohol.
You laughed âYou realise weâre only here for, like, two days and a half, right? How much you intend to get us drunk?â
They chuckled and Joe answered for the both of them âYou never know, y/n, we could be stuck here forever, we have to be readyâ
You giggled and walked past them, following Lucy inside.
You all set up your rooms: Rami and Lucy in the main one and Gwilym, Joe and you in the guest room. You were not embarrassed of sleeping in their same room: they had basically become like older brothers to you and you knew they felt the same protective big-brother-y energy towards you.
After you all had dinner, the guys wanted to drive back into town: Allen had texted them there was a cool party at a friend of his.
âGuys weâre supposed to be getting away from the city, donât you remember?â you protested, already dreaming of your comfortable pyjamas.
âYeahâ Joe answered âBut they are giving away drinks and Allen said thereâs quite a⊠fauna over thereâ and smirked to Gwilym, who smugly smiled and looked over to you.
âHe had me at drinks, but that is a plusâ he just added.
âYou two are disgustingâ you rolled your eyes.
Turning towards Lucy and Rami, you asked: âWhat do you think?â
âI think we should go, at least for the free drinksâ Rami simply said, shrugging his shoulders.
âBut we have plenty here!â you commented.
âYeah but itâs not the sameâ Gwil jumped in and earned a fulminating look from you.
Lucy had been following your banter with the boys whilst texting on her phone. When she heard you stopped talking, she got up from the sofa to join you in the middle of the living room.
âI say we go,â she said.
You groaned in protest, while Joe and Gwil exulted and patted her on the shoulder.
âWhy Luce? Just, why?â you asked.
She tried to hide a smug grin, âYou donât have to come if you donât want toâ she conceded with a smile.
You smiled gratefully âThanks, Luce.â
âYou canât stay here alone, y/nâ Rami commented âThere are other houses but the closest one is down the hill, at least a mile awayâ
âI swear I wonât jump on the walls or off the balconyâ you joked, Joe and Gwilym giggled. âCâ mon Rami, I can take care of myselfâ
âYeah but in case of emergency-â
â-sheâll call us and weâll be right back, right?â Lucy asked the other boys.
Gwil and Joe were nodding along and had weird, relaxed grins on their faces. You couldnât tell if they were up to something or if they were simply impatient to go to the party.
Rami gave in with a sigh and reached for the car key âIf you need anything, please just callâ he said heading to the door.
âI will, dadâ you mocked him and he softly chuckled, shaking his head.
âDonât do anything stupid eitherâ Lucy said on the threshold.
âI wonât, momâ you joked and held the door open for them to walk out. âAt least not anything I wouldnât do!â she shouted when she was already approaching the car.
You smiled and waved, closing the door behind you. You immediately slipped into the pyjamas you had been so long craving for and snuggled by the fire; the tv was showing an old movie and you could feel like dozing off after a few minutes, when you heard a loud knock on the door.
You frowned and looked at the clock: the guys had been gone for about half an hour. Could it be them already?
You looked outside and it was pouring rain. Wrapping yourself in a blanket and picking up an umbrella from the corridor, you approached carefully the door.
Heart beating fast in your chest, a ton of scenes from horror movies passed through your head and for a moment you were not sure whether you were dreaming or awake.
The knock repeated itself and you jumped for the surprise. You put your hand on the handle and pulled the door open.
In the dim light of the street, a wet and chilly Ben was trembling.
âWhat in the bloody hell took you so long?â he shrieked, passed you by and through the door, heading to the kitchen.
Still a bit startled, you closed the door behind you and followed him.
âYouâre wetting Ramiâs floor,â you said, while we put the kettle on and opened some cabinets, probably looking for tea âHe wonât be pleasedâ
âYeah yeah, this is like a second home to me nowâ he answered âIâll clean upâ.
You watched him fidget with the box of tea and softly chuckled: his fingers were so cold he couldnât even open it.
He lifted his gaze, smugly smirking âDoes this seem funny to you? Iâm freezingâ
You nodded âYeah itâs funnyâ you got closer, still giggling, and took it out of his hands.
âThanksâ he mumbled.
You smiled âWhy are you so freezing?â
He sat on a stool âI parked the car down the hill, cause I know Rami always parks here. Where is his car anyway?â
You opened the box and took out to cups from the cabinet âThey all went to this party Allen invited us toâ
"That's weird, I texted Lucy and she told me you were all here"
That minx, you thought. Now you knew why she had told you that you could just stay here: she had orchestrated everything to get the two of you to spend some time alone together.
You didnât know whether to thank her or insult her.
He frowned. You could feel his gaze on you âWhy are you not there?â
You shrugged âDidnât feel like goingâ you met his eyes and gave him a small smile âI wanted to stay home and help chilly night wanderersâ
He softly chuckled âGuess itâs my lucky day then. Thank you by the wayâ
You smiled looking at what you were doing instead of his deep green eyes. Something in his gaze made you feel weird, like some kind of tension had fallen between the two of you in an instant.
You shrugged the feeling away. âItâs nothingâ
You saw him straightening his spine with the corner of your eye.
âWhy are you here?â you asked sheepishly.
He joined his hands on the table and sighed while staring at the surface of the wooden table âWe had a small fightâ
He didnât have to say who was we. It was clear he was talking about Liza.
âA small fight and you drive 60 miles away in the middle of the night?â you corked an eyebrow.
He glanced over at you and snorted âOkay, it was kinda a big oneâ
âBen?â you inquired, a smile on your face to mock him âWhat did you do?â
He huffed but did not return the smile. He just looked down at his hands and reached for the cup you had prepared for him. You pulled it out of his reach, now seriously worried something had gone wrong.
âBenâ you repeated, âWhat happened?â
He looked up at you: his green eyes a strange mixture of emotions.
âI told her I meant to come up here and spend some time with you guys. She told me she wasnât totally on board with itâŠâ
Because Iâm here as well, you thought.
ââŠI told her she could come as well but she didnât want to and soâŠâ he hesitated.
âSo⊠what?â you asked, taking a seat beside him on a stool.
He turned to face you and sighed again âI asked her what she expected me to do, if she wanted me to stop seeing my friends just becauseâŠâ he stopped to sigh again and never continued that sentence.
Instead, he continued âI might have told her she couldnât control my life like that⊠We ended up shouting things to each other and wellâŠâ
âOh BenâŠâ you placed your hands on your face, rubbing your eyes and shaking your head âand you run out to drive up here?â
He shifted his gaze back to the table, silently answering your question.
âYou are a dick,â you said, before letting out a soft chuckle and swiftly covering your mouth with a hand.
He turned his head to you âIâm the dick? Sheâs the one trying to control my life and the people who are in itâŠâ. Unable to stand your gaze, he moved it back to the table, slightly shaking his head.
âYeah, but you need to work things out if you still want to call her your girlfrie-â
âWhat if I donât want to anymore?â he uttered, startling you and making you shift in your seat.
âWhat?â you asked in a low voice.
âNoâ he brought his hands to his face and angrily rubbed his eyes, just like you had done earlier âUgh! I donât know⊠I donât know why itâs all so complicated right nowâŠâ
He turned to face you the instant you did the same: you felt your heartbeat race faster, you were so close you could smell his cologne.
âDo you think I'm being out of my mind here?â he leaned in to place a hand on your thigh, his eyes fixated in yours.
Somehow you had forgotten how to breathe. You caught his gaze shifting from your eyes to your lips, then back again to your eyes. You were now sure of the redness that had surely sprung among your cheeks.
âI-â you started, but didnât know how to finish the sentence, your brain blanking every 0.2 seconds, due to lack of oxygen.
âYou what?â he whispered, constantly inching forward.
You both knew how it was gonna end, but neither of you had the strength to stop it.
It was inevitable.
You had wanted this moment to happen for so long, you found it hard to back down now. And from the way Ben was acting, you were pretty sure he had all the intention to let it happen.
âWhat are you -â you started again, but you couldnât complete the sentence.
Benâs lips crashed into yours and you soon felt his cold hands on your cheeks. The kiss only lasted a few seconds and when you pulled away, Benâs eyes were indecipherable.
You turned towards the table again, propping your elbows on the surface and bringing your hands to your face.
âNo Ben, you can't do this" you started âWe can't do this. Not while you're still with her. It's not rightâ
You felt his hand on your back ây/n, I really don't think we'll get back together. At least, I don't want toâ
âDid you break up?â
He hesitated âWell, no but -â
âThen youâre still together! I donât wanna get in the middle of anythingâ you stated.
âYou already are, y/nâ he replied, your gaze swiftly shifting to his eyes, waiting for an explanation.
He huffed âYou seriously cannot tell me you have not noticedâ
You frowned âNoticed what?â
He widened his eyes âCâ mon, y/n, donât be elusiveâŠâ. He realised you didnât know what he was talking about; he continued âI must be a better actor than I think I amâŠâ he chuckled, shaking his head.
He locked eyes with you âI canât stop thinking about you, y/n. I tried, seriously, but I donât know how to stop. I try to avoid being alone with you because I donât know how to control myself.â
A shiver ran down your spine, hearing all the words you had hoped to hear him say. You tried to hide a smile: that was indeed a turn of events.
He smiled "Look, I have no idea what I'm doing here," he whispered leaning closer again âbut I know I want to find out what this is all aboutâ
You swiftly turned to him, to look at him in the eyes, trying to read them.
âI feel like something bad will happen if we keep looking at each other like thatâ you suggested.
Ben softly chuckled, before whispering ââŠor something good, depends on perspectiveâ
You found again very close to his lips and you knew he was staring at yours. You kissed him quickly, as to remind yourself what it felt like.
He smiled widely and kissed you back again, the kiss lasting a bit longer this time. You pulled away again, looking at his eyes one more time: they were smiling, just as much as his lips and you knew he was just as much excited as you about this.
Almost simultaneously you crushed your lips together, your hands flying into his blond hair and his finding quickly your jaw and neck. You parted your lips to give him better access and he deepened the kiss. It was heated, passionate and heavy of all the tension you had stored through the past year.
He slid a hand down to your waist and pulled you closer, making you jump down the stool and inch towards him, between his legs. Your hands roamed on his back, while he had one behind our neck and another on your waist. You pulled away to catch some breath and stared into his eyes to ask him what you were doing.
He jumped down the stool: as an answer, he grabbed you again and started back where you had left. Transported by the kiss, he guided you towards the corridor and into the nearest room. He opened the door with his back, without even letting you slip out of his grip.
âYou have no idea how long Iâve been waiting for thisâ he whispered to your ear, after pulling away from your lips for a second.
âI knowâ you replied, bringing your hands to his chest, part of you wanting to keep him close, the other wanting to push him away "Me too".
You were awfully aware what you were doing was far from the right thing to do, let alone the right moment to do it. Ben was technically still with Liza and you knew he was technically cheating on her. With you.
But when he roamed his hands on your back, hugging you tight and kissing you passionately, the outside world faded away instantly and it was like you were in your own world, where only the two of you existed.
You slid your hands down his still partially wet t-shirt and slipped them under it. Ben helped you getting it over his head. You took a moment to caress his chest and abdomen, admiring his muscles before looking up to his eyes.
His cold hands played with the hem of your sweater: you tossed it on the floor, revealing your bare chest, and you grinned widely when you heard him gulping. He leaned down to kiss you again passionately, guiding you towards the bed and making you lay down, quickly hovering you.
He searched for your eyes for a moment, trying to read your emotions. You propped yourself on your elbows to kiss him softly. âYou know thereâs no turning back from this?â he asked âFor our friendship I meanâ
You lifted an eyebrow âIâm currently laying half naked underneath you, I think we can safely say our friendship is ruinedâ
He softly chuckled, letting out what you thought to be one of the best sounds you had ever heard. Your heart ached at how happy you felt in that very moment.
âWhat do you mean you donât flash all of your friends?â he joked.
âOnly Joe and Gwilâ you answered in tone, making him gulp harshly again.
You chuckled and cupped his cheek, kissing his jaw right afterwards âIâm kiddingâ.
He hushed a groan âI sure hope soâ
He looked again into your eyes, more serious this time, silently asking for permission to continue.
You smiled âIâm ready when you areâ
He smiled back, leaning down to cover your body with his and kissing you again, before moving to your jaw and to the crook of your neck. You hushed out a moan when he started kissing your skin, leaving small red marks under the earlobe.
"Ben," you whispered not exactly knowing what to say next. Your mind was inebriated by him.
"Mmmh" he mumbled on your skin.
You were shivering from all the emotions you were feeling, inebriated by his scent and by the knowledge you were actually that close to him. Never in your wildest dreams, you would have imagined he had felt the same the whole time.
You were gleaming with joy and you couldnât stop a smile to form on your face, as Ben kept on kissing your neck and chest.
He caught your smile and stopped to ask, smiling himself âWhatâs that smile?â
âI just canât believe this is happening,â you explained ânow please kiss me againâ
His smile widened as he leant down to meet your lips, his hand sliding down your body to toy with the edge of your pants, slowly pulling them down.
He wasnât teasing, he just wanted to take his time to savour every moment.
You smirked in the kiss and moved a hand from his neck to the other edge of your pants, helping him to pull them off and toss them on the floor.
The heat of the room had increased exponentially in the last few minutes and you felt a pleasant heat spreading down your spine and between your legs.
Your hands flew to his belt and you fidgeted with the buttons of his jeans. He knelt back and undid them himself, discarding them on the floor afterwards.
He came down to hover you again, kissing your jaw and nibbling at the skin between your breasts. You loudly sighed and tightened the grip on his hair, the other hand drawing patterns on his back.
You could feel him against your thigh from underneath his boxers, the sensation bringing even more excitement down at your core.
Using an elbow to perch yourself, you rolled the both of you over the bed, so that now he had his back laying on the mattress and you were straddling him.
He smiled at your sudden initiative and cupped your cheeks to kiss you again and bring you closer to his chest.
Laying on top of his body, skin on skin, kissing the air out of your lungs was probably one of the best feelings you had ever experienced.
Almost accidentally you brushed your hips against his boxers, drawing a whimper from Benâs lips. When you parted for a moment, his eyes were dark and lighted by a spark of excitement. Grinning, you repeated the move, earning another hushed whimper from him.
âIf you keep doing that, I wonât be able to hold backâ he said, suffocating a groan.
You smirked âThen donâtâ
His eyes lit up with excitement a crooked smile propped up on his lips. He rolled you over again and slid his hands underneath the elastic band of your panties, slowly pulling them down, his eyes locked into yours.
You instantly reached for his underwear and tugged at the hem of his boxers. You could see how surprised he was by your initiative, which shocked him every time.
As he got rid of his underwear as well, he knelt on the mattress, a light-hearted grin on his face.
âAre we really doing this?â he asked with a smile, adjusting the condom on. There was no trace of doubt in his voice: he was just as incredulous as you were to the fact that you were finally exploring your feelings for each other.
Smiling, you sat up on the bed to reach his face and cup his jaw with your hands.
âI think we might just beâ you whispered with a smile. He smiled back, placing his lips on yours and laying you down on the mattress, his body covering yours and your lips still locked to each other.
Without further notice, you felt him align himself with you and slid inside. Simultaneously you inhaled sharply at the new sensation. You wrapped your hands around his back, as he placed small sloppy kisses down your neck and on your shoulder.
Ben started at a slow pace, steadying himself by perching on his elbow by the side of your body, as you gently caressed his arms. Neither of you dared to talk, to caught up in the moment to even articulate a sentence: you were taking things slow, not wanting the moment to end. It went on like that for a while, Ben slowly thrusting in and out, his lips locked with yours at every movement he made.
The whole cabin was quiet and the silence was interrupted every once in a while only by your hot breaths and muffled moans and by the crackling of the fireplace.
You collapsed next to each other, Benâs arm wrapped around your waist and your head on his shoulder. The soft blankets were barely covering your bodies as you stared at the ceiling with a huge smile on your face.
âNo turning back, uh?â you asked hesitantly, breaking the silence.
He turned his face, searching for your eyes and smiling.
âNo turning back.â he said inching forward to kiss you once more.

 âLiza please get up.â Despite everything going on Liza stayed there wailing. Water flowed down her face, looking more shattered as she sobbed louder. The strong presence she once carried vanished, leaving nothing but a broken girl.Â
   âAMMY!â she shrieked, â Donât leave me! Please! Amyy!â
        Amy was gone. That was it. Everything she and Liza planned to do after the war, the life they planned to live gone in seconds. They were supposed to get married, start a family, buy a house. Do anything and everything together.Â
     The thought of never seeing Amy smile or laugh like everything was ok or look at her like she was the only thing in the world coursed through Lizaâs mind making her weep louder.Â
   âLiza please,â James laid a hand on her, â theyâre coming, we have to go now. Elizabeth, please!âÂ
     James felt a strong pull on his arm, suddenly he was face to face with Liza, anger making its way to her surface.
    âYou do not call me Elizabeth. Got it?â she forced through her sobs.Â
             Breaking out of her grasp, James got up before she continued to cry. He thought to himself, he knew he had to leave her. It was for the greater good. It was his job. His number one priority. James recalled his conversation with Commander Diana that morning.Â
         âJames no matter what happens remember your first priority is to keep the public safe, no matter how many soldiers weâll lose. When you joined this rebellion you knew you could lose your life. You knew youâd see others lose their lives.â
      âCommander what, whatâre you talking to aboutâ James responded
      âJames, just listen to meâ
      âNot until you tell me whatâs going onâ
    âSigh. I should have been honest from the beginning. Our whereabouts are known, James. Theyâve found us.
    âWhat? No this has to be some sort of mistake. Itâs not, they, they canât. They, no.â
âItâs no mistake, James. And chances are most people arenât gonna take it as you did. You need to get everyone out quickly and easily. And if you have to leave someone behind. Then so be itâÂ
                 But how could he? Liza, she was so important to him, and to see her on the floor broken and wailing. It crushed him. Even when they were kids she was always so strong and dominant.Â
             James remembered how simple things were when they were kids. When the only worry was being caught eating too much ice cream. He remembered when they declared that they would be best friends forever.
                      âWeâll be friends forever, right? James asked
             âDonât be stupid,â Liza rolled her eyes âof course weâll be friends forever. Weâre best friends.Â
        âAlright. Best friends forever then.âÂ
        âYeah, friends forever.âÂ
                          But James had a job to be doneÂ
          âIâm sorry Lizaâ he whispered tears running down his face.
        âWhat?â
       Liza lifted her head to see a ship in the sky headed right toward her town. But worst of all.
        James was nowhere to be seen.
     âJames!â Liza cried. âWhere are you, James! Please! Donât leave me too. James!?â
         Liza wanted to sit down and cry. She wanted to cry till she had no tears left. But that ship was coming fast and she had to hide. Liza roughly rubbed her eye, wiping her tears away. Within seconds she realized it was over. The ship heading towards her was long and slender, four cannons at each side. A ship Liza had only seen once. The one she lost her eye to. The one she lost her family to.
       Liza darted towards the forest, not looking back, tears flowing past her face as she ran faster, her black ponytail flying through the air, landing in her face after coming to an abrupt stop.Â
              There was a small theater in the woods. It was painted pink and had vines growing at its sides. It looked like a little home with its triangle top and wood walls.
      As a child, Liza heard about a theater in the woods. There stories about how it was haunted and no one would ever take it down in fear. Liza believed that it was nothing more than an old folktale, a legend to say the least. But thinking back to it now, why was this building still here? After hundreds of years, why would they keep it? Theater houses arenât even used anymore.Â
    Maybe there was something in the theater, but not a ghost, maybe another one of them. The question floated around Lizaâs mind. But she didnât have time to think about that. The ship was coming fast and Liza had to hide faster.Â
     Liza grabbed on the nearest and most powerful weapon she had as a child.
      A stick
Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â ïżœïżœÂ Sure some might say a stick isnât that strong but in the right hands it could be as powerful as a gun. And Liza had the right hands. Like her mother always said,âit doesnât matter what the weapon is as long as you use it right.â How Liza missed her mother. Her laugh, smile, even her scolding. Tears began to fill her eye as all the memories came rushing back. No. She had to be strong right now. For her mom, dad, brother, Amy, Jame-
     No. Not James.Â
      Liza headed into the theater clutching on to the stick for safety. She searched the different rooms in the theater, making sure each of them were clear. Everything was dusty and looked like it hadnât been cleaned in a long time.Â
     Water was dripping through the holes in the ceiling, causing small puddles to form. With every step, Liza took the floorboards creaked creating echoes within the halls. Flowers and vines were growing in and out of the theater walls. The vines were scattered across the floor causing her to keep tripping, and getting her to fall twice, while the flowers prickled against her skin giving Liza scratches and making her arms bleed.Â
          âIf someone was really here theyâd already I was too by nowâ she thought silentlyÂ
      This theater was beautiful but hurt her many times. Every rose has its thorns. Especially the ones in the wall.
       But if all went according to plan, Liza wouldnât be there long. And what happens after she gets out, well there was still time to think of that.
      âGAHH!â she groaned. The pain really started to kick in. The splinters from the stick started sinking into her skin, the thorns slashed her surface. She was covered in so much blood she was practically Bloody Mary.
      Liza wanted to yell and scream, or even sit down and sob, but there was too much on the line. No. There was too little on the line. There was one thing on the line. Her life. The only thing she had left.
       Liza bit her lip to stop screams, but every now and then a groan would escape her lips.Â
     âCome on. There has to be somewhere to hideâ
   âAhhhhhâ Liza howled as her bare foot was met with an old rusty nail.Â
      There she was on the floor covered in blood, tears covering the side of her face. Sheâs never felt so pathetic, so helpless. She had nobody, not her family, friends, Amy, James.Â
     James
       He was the reason she was here. He knew that they were coming. He knew she could die and yet he still left her there hopeless. Anger boiled up inside her, but all that anger quickly turned into a different kind of pain.
     SadnessÂ
      And there she was again, wailing despite all the chaos going on around her. Tears were flowing down her face, looking more shattered as she sobbed louder. Liza had never cried this much before. But that strong presence she once carried was gone forever, all she was, was a broken girl, waiting for her death.
    There it was right above her. Death, ready to kill her.Â
   Her ender had glistening green skin and short silver hair, large horns and, of course, the tool to do it: a spear
    Liza couldnât remember what happened next, but she felt something in her chest before everything went dark.Â

Before I do anything else, I want to post the second part of my two part fic series. This time, from Hawkeyeâs eyes on an all male team. There is more dialogue from the game since there is more in game interaction in this configuration, but it still shows his feelings about things going on. Along with some snark from Duran and a bit of adorable from Kevin...
---
      The tactical meeting dismissed, leaving Duran and his team to get ready for their trip back to Beiser.  There was worry that they might not be able to leave Palo, but thankfully Liza was able to inform them that ships were still going out.  Kevin had asked if they could swim instead of taking the boat but was overruled because neither Hawkeye nor Duran would be able to keep up!
      âWell, we should get supplies before we leave,â suggested Duran.
      Alma, the middle-aged woman whoâd been at the meeting, stated, âThen come with me.  Iâll show you were we have some extra restoratives.  And donât worry about paying us backâŠyou are taking on this mission for our sake, after allâŠâ
      âIf weâre getting supplies, can I have something to eat?â questioned Kevin. âIâm hungry.â
      The two youths followed her out of the room, as did the few Amazons and the old man.  Leaving only Hawkeye and Riesz standing around.  He took her in for a moment, not knowing what to think.  What other royal princess would volunteer to go on a dangerous mission instead of delegating responsibility to one of her underlings? Not only that, but she was the Captain of the guard as well!  Something told him that it wasnât just some ceremonial position theyâd handed off to herâŠthis girl had the look of someone who, despite her unassuming appearance, could kill a man with ease if needed!
      âAre you okay?â she asked, looking up.
      For a moment, Hawkeye stayed silent.  Then he closed the distance between them a little, looking her straight in the eyes. âI am sorry for all you are going through.  If I had been stronger, I might have been able to stop this before it got out of hand.â
      âHuh?â the confused girl replied.  âWhatever do you mean by that?â
      Taking a breath, Hawkeye told her, âIâŠcome from Nevarl myself.  Ever since that witch, Isabella, joined us, she has been manipulating our leader for her own ends.  I tried to stop her, alongside my best friendâŠbut we failed!  And Iâm the only one of us who survived to keep fighting.â
      Riesz was taken back a little.  Sure, she had suspected the man to be one of the thieves when heâd been brought in. But while it would have been safer to lock him up in the jail, just in case, something told her that he was trustworthy.  Maybe it was the fact that he was traveling with people who were clearly not Nevarlans. Maybe it was the stories Alma had told her about the Pedda war, including mention of a Nevarlan deserter who had been one of her allies, telling her to give him a chance.  And yet, she was not expecting him to apologize, or to hear of outside influence starting the conflict.
      âI cannot forgive them for killing my father and abducting my brother,â she finally said.  âBut I can tell you are sincere.  Please, do be careful on your journeyâŠI do not want to see others hurt because they are trying to help me and my people.â
      Hawkeye thanked her, his mind trying to process everything.  This girlâŠshe wasnât like any royalty heâd ever heard of. All the stories told in Nevarl were of people who would use anyone they could with little care for their safety or security.  Of people who would bleed their citizens dry in order to have money for the sake of having money.  Yet despite only having just met her, Riesz truly felt like a person who cared for her people out of authentic responsibility, not merely something they claimed in order to get away with whatever they wanted.
      As he began to open his mouth, Duran came running in.  âHawkeye!  We got the stuff we needed, and Kevinâs fully fed!  Letâs head out for Beiser!â
      The young thief turned with a sigh, telling Riesz, âDonât worry, Princess! Weâll get you that info and reclaim your citadel before long!â
      âYou know, you should call a princess âYour Highness,â if you want to be polite!â Duran stated.
      âAnd youâre one to talk about politeness!â joked Hawkeye.  âBesides King Richard, I donât think Iâve ever heard you act polite towards anyone!â
      Their playful argument continued as the pair left the room.  Riesz watched them leave, a smile crossing her face. She then grasped her hands in prayer, begging the Goddess of Mana to watch over the three travelers on their journey.  Not just for retaking LaurentâŠbut wherever they roamed afterwards.
* * *
      A trio of ninja guarded the doorway to the highest point of Citadel Laurent. Before they even knew what was going on, the one in front felt a shuriken embed itself into his forehead! Down to the ground he went, his comrades following soon after to the strike of a sword and the claws of a fully transformed beastman!
      âAnd thatâs a wrap for these idiots!â Duran exclaimed, sheathing his sword.
      Hawkeye added, âWeâre getting close!  Isabellaâs reign of terror over these people is almost over.â
      Duran nodded.  âYeah. And weâll definitely make sure to get her out of Nevarl once weâve got the Mana Sword.  She may not be my true enemy, but Iâm not gonna leave a friendâs home in danger!â
      Kevin rammed into the door in front of them, bursting it open.  ThankfullyâŠnothing was broken, though Hawkeye did get a lie ready about it being damaged in a fight with the invaders if needed be.  He might believe Isabellaâs actions were wrong and self-serving, but that didnât mean that he should have to pay for damages to the citadel done by him and his friends!
      As Duran reached out to touch the Goddess Statue, a womanâs pained cry lit up the air! Hawkeye immediately rushed up the stairs to find Riesz, kneeling on the ground and with several bloody gashes on her body.  Bil and Ben stood over her, shuriken in their hands and ready to end itâŠ
      âRiesz!â he called out, knives at the ready.  âWait, Bil, Ben?  Stop! What are you doing!?â
      The two paid him no heed, as if they did not recognize Hawkeye at all! Instead, they ran further in, calling out for someone named âBelladonna.â  While Hawkeye didnât know who that was, he had more important things to worry about.  Like making sure the injured woman in front of him didnât bleed out.  He grabbed one of the Honey Elixirs that Alma had previously given them and had her drink.
      ââŠTh-thank you⊠ The enemy commandant is in that room over there.  I willâŠgoâŠshortly,â she told him, struggling in an attempt at standing.
      Despite the pain clearly still shooting through her body, Riesz tried to pull herself up.  Only to collapse back on her knees.  Hawkeye could see the determination in her eyes, knowing that heâd probably act the same way under such circumstances.  Still, despite his usual reservations about royalty, he was not the type to let a young woman be put in needless danger.
      âDonât be an idiot!â he snapped.  âYou arenât going anywhere with those wounds!  What would your subjects do if you didnât make it back?  Wait hereâweâll take care of it, Your Highness.â
      He ignored Duranâs comment about how he was being all formal towards Riesz now. As well as the wolf whistle and comments about him being a player.  Instead, he kept his attention on the beautiful woman before him, her eyes still filled with equal parts determination and pain.  She spoke of her promise to avenge her father, something Hawkeye could understand all too well.  He would go through anything to avenge Eagle, and if heâd been in the same situation, someone else would have had to get him to stand down.  MeaningâŠhe had to do that for her!
      Hawkeye looked Riesz straight in the eyes, a gentle expression on his face. âIâve never been a fan of royalty, but I understand responsibility.  You canât let down all those people who look up to you.â
      As he turned to leave, Riesz whispered his name in a gentle voice. Hawkeye could feel strength welling up inside of him.  He would do thisâŠfor Eagle, for Jessica, for Nevarl.  And so the girl in front of him could regain her home!  Sternly telling her to stay out of harmâs way, he rushed off!
* * *
      They were able to liberate Laurent and get the Nevarlan agents out of the citadel. Still, Isabella, no, Belladonna had gotten away.  Hawkeye didnât know why sheâd gone under an assumed name, nor had he ever heard of the âDark Majestyâ that she spoke of.  But he could tell that this man was bad news!  It looked like he had a tougher fight to reclaim Nevarl and avenge Eagle than heâd expected.
      Riesz thanked the group for their help in saving her home.  But noted that it would not bring her murdered father back. Hawkeye told her how his friends appeared to be under mind controlâsomething he knew well that Belladonna was capable of, considering what she did to Eagleâand it was the same for all of Nevarl.
      âBelladonna⊠ She is the one who stole my father and my kingdom from me,â commented Riesz.  âShe still has my brother!  I will never forgive her!â
      Hawkeye looked at her sadly, worried she would get in over her head again.  Or worseâŠsheâd skewer Belladonna with her spear before he could finish his own job!  âRiesz, listen.  I know you want revenge, but if you destroy Belladonna now, an innocent girlâs life will be in danger.  Just give me a bit more time.  With the Sword of Mana, I know I can save Jessica!  Thatâs why we have to find it!â
      Whether out of guilt or worry, he knew not, Riesz looked at the floor. âThis Jessica, is sheâŠâ But she stopped at those words.  âNever mind. I understand the situation.  Right now, my fellow countrymen and I need to focus on rebuilding my kingdom.â
      He thanked her for understanding and letting him take care of things.  Not paying any attention to the smirk Duran was throwing at Kevin.  Of course, when the knight mouthed, âI think she likes him!â to his friend, it was missed because Kevin didnât realize he was trying to send a message!
* * *
      With the blessings of her soldiers, all knowing their captain wouldnât sit and wait for others to rescue her brother, Riesz prepared to set out at the same time as Duranâs team.  Hawkeye did wish she would rest a little more, although he didnât voice his concerns this time.  She did appear fully healed, after all, and he knew that if it were him, heâd have to be chained down to keep from going!
      âFunnyâŠnever thought Iâd say I had something in common with a princess!â he mused.
      âI will set out again to renew my search for my brother,â she informed them. âThank you all for everything you have done.  May we meet again.â
      âRiesz, I wishâŠ,â began Hawkeye.
      However, Riesz interrupted him as she put her hands up over her reddening face. âUh, I-I must go now!  Take care, everyone.  Farewell.â
      With that, she ran off, leaving the trio standing in the citadel entryway. Hawkeye looked down for a moment, letting out a sigh.  He had wanted to echo her sentiment about seeing each other once more.  It would be a shame never to gaze upon such beauty again! Or maybeâŠ
      âHey, Hawkeye?â Kevin asked.  âWhy did Rieszâs face look red?  Is she still hurt?â
      Before he could answer, Duran let out a little laugh, putting his arm atop Hawkeyeâs shoulder.  âItâs simple! Sheâs obviously got a crush on him! What luck, having a cute princess want you!â
      The thief playfully pushed his friend away.  âYeah, right!  I think I just knocked her off kilter!  She wasnât expecting me to be so dashing.  Itâs not like a princess would fall head over heels for someone from the nation that just torched hers!â
      âBut you wouldnât mind if she did?â questioned Duran.
      Hawkeye had no answer to that oneâŠother than that it would be nice.  And expected to get teased mercilessly about it on the boat ride back to Beiser!

Happy reading!
â... Twenty-four year old female⊠multipleâŠ.â
â... C.T. is readyâŠâ
â... We need toâŠâ
â... Liza? We need you toâŠâ
(!!!)
âWhere are you going?â
Liza nearly jumped out of her skin at the sound of Lukeâs voice. He was supposed to be at work for another three hours, and she needed all the time she could to pack her things.Â
Slowly, Liza turned around to see Luke standing in the entryway of the living room. He looked mad. He always looked mad.Â
âHey honey, youâre home early.â Liza replied, not answering his question and fighting to keep her voice even. If she showed fear this would be even worse.Â
âYou werenât answering my calls.â
Shit.Â
âIâm sorry, I was cleaning and I guess I didnât hear my phone-â
âYouâre lying. Donât lie to me. Where are you going?â
Lizaâs eyes flickered from Luke to the nearest exit. She knew in her bones this wasnât going to end well for her.Â
The closest exit was past Luke, but there were multiple objects she could use as a weapon. The wine bottle at the bar seemed the best.Â
âI was headed to Jessâ. Sheâs really sick and needs someone over there-â
âYou see,â Luke interrupted as he stepped closer, his hands in his pockets and his eyes trained on Liza, âI gave you a chance to tell me the truth, and I warned you not to lie to me. I stopped by the hospital, Jess was there. Said you felt sick so you stayed home today.â
Liza could feel her heart in her throat. She couldnât very well argue with him. Jess, bless her, had tried to cover for her. Because the reality of it was that she had quit. She had planned on leaving an hour before Luke got home. She needed to leave him or he would quite literally be the death of her.Â
In a last minute attempt to save herself, Liza bolted towards the bar, but was stopped short when Luke grabbed her wrist.Â
He spun her back to face him, and punched her square in the face.Â
âYou thought you could leave me? After everything weâve been through?â Luke asked, as he backhanded Liza and threw her against the wall, âI did everything for you. I was so good to you. I loved you! And this is how you repay me?â
Another punch, this time to her stomach. Then another. And another.Â
Liza coughed, and blood dripped from her mouth. She knew the only way she would get out of this alive was if she called for help now.Â
Luke was currently going on a rant, so while he was distracted she quickly tumbled towards the couch and grabbed her phone from her bag. She unlocked it, found the app that Jess had made her download weeks ago, and pressed the panic button multiple times before a wad of her hair was grabbed and she was tossed across the room.Â
âYou fucking bitch! You listen when I talk to you! Are you leaving me for another guy? Huh? Is that it you slut!â He added emphasis on âslutâ as he reared his foot back and kicked her ribs, âI bet itâs that fucker, Dennis? The one at the coffee shop you like so much?â Another kick to the ribs, âIâll fucking kill him!â
Luke dropped down on top of Liza, grabbed her hair and slammed her head into the floor several times before adding another punch to the face.Â
Liza was wheezing and coughing, trying to keep awake and from choking on her own blood. Tears stung her eyes and she felt herself slipping. She faintly heard the sound of sirens, but they were too late. She saw the metal glint in Lukeâs hands.Â
She was dead.Â
Luke leaned down so that his face was right next to her head.Â
âIâll kill him,â he whispered, âRight after I kill you.â
At first there was pain, and then, there was nothing.Â
***(!!!)
Sounds. Sounds came back first.Â
The first thing she heard was beeping. Then as she began to come out of her sleep she could make out the faint sounds of voices.Â
Next was smell.Â
Wherever she was, it smelled clean. And oddly familiar.
Suddenly, like a train, all of her senses crashed into her at once as she realized where she was and why she was there.Â
Her eyes flew open, as much as they could, and then there was a loud alarm next to her.Â
She knew that alarm. She needed to get her heart rate down.Â
But it didnât matter. Because Luke could come find her at any time and she had to hide.
She threw the blankets off of her and went to stand, but fell to the ground, bringing her IV drip with her.Â
Several nurses suddenly burst in the door, as well as a security officer.Â
âMaâam, you need to stay in bed,â One nurse tried telling her as the other nurses tried to get her back on her bed.Â
âNo, heâs going to find me!â Liza shrieked, fighting against the nurses, throwing weak punches where she could. She vaguely registered someone yelling out for a sedative.
âNo! No you canât do that! Heâll find me and heâll finish what he started and-â
âLiza,âÂ
That voice. She knew that voice. She opened her eyes, which she hadnât realized were closed, and saw a blurry image of her friend in front of her.
When had she started crying?
âJess?â
âHey girlie. I need you to calm down okay?â
Lizaâs chest heaved as she forced in a breath. Jess was here. Jess always kept her safe.Â
âBut⊠But Luke-â
âIs in jail.â Jess said with a certain finality to her voice, âThe police found him when they got to your house. At first they thoughtâŠâ Jess swallowed the lump in her throat and Liza was vaguely aware of the other nurses inserting new IVs.Â
âBut they rushed you into the ER. They paged me saying there was a critical Jane Doe. But I knew, I knew it was you. When I saw you I- It took everything in me not to go and kill him myself.â
âSo⊠Heâs... gone?â Liza asked, her voice shaking.Â
Jess nodded, âYeah. He isnât going to hurt you again. So could you please lay your stubborn ass down so Iâm not constantly on the verge of a heart attack, please?â
Liza smiled, or tried to, it probably looked like a grimace. She laid back down with the help of the other nurses.Â
Now that she was up and the IV had unhooked for a few minutes, her brain fog had cleared enough to let her understand the situation.Â
âHow bad?â She asked.Â
Jess placed a hand on the shoulder of another nurse, who Liza recognized as Rhonda. She was always nice to her. She always looked out for Liza.
âIâve got this,â Jess spoke quietly. Rhonda nodded and finished the IV she was placing before leaving the two friends alone.
It was quiet for a moment before Liza asked again, âJess?â
âYou wonât remember anything I tell you right now. Theyâve got you on some pretty strong stuff. Go to sleep, Iâll be here when you wake up and Iâll tell you.â
She wanted to fight, but Liza felt the medication pulling her under and she just didnât have the energy. So she let the darkness wrap around her once again.
***
Jess was sitting in a chair next to her bed. Liza was finally moved out of the ICU and demanded that her friend tell her what all Luke had done.
â... Contusions everywhere. Ruptured spleen. And a stab wound to the abdomen that pierced multiple organs,â Jess sniffled and wiped a tear off her cheek, âThey lost you twice in the first surgery. They wouldnât let me in the room, said I was too close to the case. Honestly, everyone was shocked you made it out alive.
âYou were in critical care for the first several days. On a ventilator for the first four. God, when you started breathing on your own I actually threw up, you know. I was so nervous.â
It was silent for a few minutes, Liza soaking up all of the information she had just been given.Â
âHow long was I out?â She asked.Â
âAlmost a week and a half. After you woke up the first time they put you into a coma so it wouldnât happen again.â
It was quiet between the two for several minutes before Jess sniffed and swiped at her tears again, âYou need to rest.â
Liza nodded and leaned back onto the bed once more, and attempted another smile when Jess squeezed her hand before leaving the room.Â
***
âSo I was thinking we could find you a new apartment, one of the fancy ones with extra security. Then when youâre feeling better you could come back to work-â
âIâm still leaving.â Liza cut off Jessâ thoughts, âI mean, I donât want to. But I also do. I donât feel safe here. I want to restart. Somewhere where nobody knows me.â Liza was poking at her food with her fork. Suddenly, she had no appetite.Â
âOh, okay. Yeah. I get that. I just, I guess I thought it would be easier⊠But youâre right,â
âJess, Iâm sorry.â
âHey, no need to be sorry,â Jess sniffled and gave a watery smile, âYou need to do whatâs best for you. Iâm just going to miss my best friend, is all.â
âI know. Iâm gonna miss you too. But youâre gonna come out to visit me as soon as possible, right?âÂ
âDuh,â Jess gently pushed Lizaâs shoulder and the two of them giggled, âJack and I are coming out as soon as I have enough vacation saved up.â
A pang of guilt hit Liza. Jess had used up most of her vacation time while Liza was in the hospital, a majority used after she had woken up the first time.Â
A feat that the doctors couldnât figure out how it had happened, she learned, since she hadn't been weaned off the sedatives yet.Â
Liza barely remembered that. Jess had to tell her what had happened. Though she supposed it was a good thing she didnât remember most of that incident. Apparently she had nearly gone berserk.Â
âHey,â Jessâ voice stirred Liza from her train of thought, âYou okay?â
Liza cleared her throat, âYeah, Iâm fine. Just a little tired.â
âYeah, of course. You should rest. Iâll come see you later.â Jess got up and pulled the small table Liza had been eating on to the side of the bed and pulled the blankets up to cover her.Â
Grabbing the food tray, Jess snuck out of the room and headed to the nursing station, dropping the food tray on the cart as she passed.Â
âHey, she sleeping?â Lynne, one of Lizaâs nurses, asked.Â
âI donât know if sheâs sleeping. But sheâs resting.â Jess said as she slid into one of the empty chairs.Â
âThatâs better than nothing,â Lynne looked back up from her paperwork, âWhy do you look constipated?â
Jess shot a look at her friend before pinching the bridge of her nose, âShe still wants to move. And I get it, I do, but I canât keep her safe if sheâs all the way across the country!âÂ
Lynne sighed, âJess. Honey, she was half way across town and was very nearly killed. I know you feel responsible. But you were doing everything you could. From what she told us, you were helping her get out,â
âI should have given her a way to defend herself.â
âYou canât dwell on the past. Not anymore. Because thatâs all sheâs going to do, and you need to be strong for her. You need to be that beacon of hope, even if youâre clear across the country.â
âHow do I keep her from finding someone like him again?â Jess didnât dare speak his name. It was like poison. And she didnât want it on her tongue, âBecause, Lynne, if someone lays a hand on her one more time, I might actually go to jail. No, scratch that. I definitely will go to jail. I would have that night if Doctor Tiruneh didnât physically pull me into a supply closet and refuse to let me leave until I calmed down.â
Lynne blew out some air, running a hand down her face, âYou canât guarantee she wonât find someone like him again. In fact, itâs entirely possible she will. Some people end up in a cycle they canât break, some people can break it after one relationship gone bad. Hopefully, this was enough for her to break that cycle. All you can do is be there for her and try to guide her.â
âI should have called the cops when I saw the bruises the first time,â
âThat wasnât your call to make,â
âYeah, well, look where it got us.â
âSheâs alive. Thatâs all that matters,â
Jess sat there for a few more minutes before she stood abruptly and headed out. She needed fresh air to think.

Best Girlfriend Ever dd
Could you do a David x reader where they are out on a shopping spree and they meet a few fans through out the day
Donât know if this is what you wanted. I stared writing and this came out. Hope you like it.

You were convinced he was only doing it because he had spent the day before at his exâs birthday party and had bought her a really nice gift. You told him you werenât fussed about it, and thought it was sweet of him to still turn up. Even if deep down you had hoped he would abandon the brunch and come meet up with you and Natalie at Universals.
âDavid I really donât need anything,â you complain as he pulled you into another store.
âWell youâre going to have to pick something,â he says over his shoulder. âOr weâre never leaving this mall. Unless you think this place isnât good enough. Do you want to go to the Gucci store?â
âThat is not what I want,â you answer. âDavid I was more than happy sitting on the sofa with you while you edited. We really didnât have to come shopping. Itâs not like I need anything.â
David stops in front of a row of leather jackets and turns to look at you. âThis might sound weird, but I woke up this morning and had the need to buy you something. I donât know what it is, but please let me do it.â
âI know what it is,â you mumble.
âYou do?â David frowns at you. âWant to explain it to me then?â
âNot really,â you sigh.
âNow I really want to know,â he says taking a step closer to you.
âWell I think you maybe want to do all this for me today because you feel a little guilty about not coming with me and Natalie yesterday. We had It all planned for when Reggie came to spend the day together, but last week you found out about the brunch and I told you to go there instead.â
âSo you didnât want me to go to Lizaâs thing?â
âI didnât want you to have to choose,â you answered. âI wanted you to do what you wanted, and you did.â
âBut if I had decided to blow off the brunch and come with you guys instead it would have made you happy?â David asks you cautiously.
âI just didnât want to be the nagging girlfriend,â you shrug. âAnd it all worked out well. You had a great time with the guys and I had fun with Natalie and Reggie. And at the end of the night we even had a fun trip to Vegas. So there really isnât anything to feel guilty about David, you didnât do anything wrong.â
He opens his mouth to say something but stops himself when he looks past you. You know what it is before you even turn around. Three teenage girls are making their way towards you both. Before they even reach you, they have their phones out ready to ask for a picture.
âWe really donât want to bother youâŠâ
âYouâre not,â David smiles. âYou want a picture?â
You quickly move out of their way and offer to take the picture for them. Itâs the same routine you go through every time youâre out together.
âAlright everyone ready?â you ask before snapping a few pictures.
âOh my god this is so cool,â one of the girls gushes. âWe were just watching the vlog where you scare Y/n with lizard.â
âYeah thanks for reminding me about that,â you laugh. âIâm still trying to figure out how to get him back.â
The girls ask a few questions and tell you both about other vlogs they love. Before they leave the quietest of the three girls stops in front of you and smiles.
âCan I just say thank you?â she says quietly.
âFor what?â you ask confused.
âFor dating David,â she answers before rolling her eyes. âI know that sounds so stupid, but as one of his fans, it was awful to see him last year. He looked so down a lot of the times. But then when you started appearing in the vlogs he looked a lot happier. Now his vlogs are getting better and better and I think that might be down to you.â
You have no idea what to say to her, so you just pull her in for a quick hug before letting the three of them walk away.
âSo,â David says as you watch the three girls walk out of sight. âThat wasâŠâ
âIntense,â you breath out.
âI was going to say sweet, but your word works too,â he smiles. âAnd sheâs right, you know.â
âAbout what?â
âI also think my vlogs are a lot better since you came into my life,â he answers. âI guess thatâs what I was trying to say earlier. Sure I should have probably skipped the brunch and gone with youâŠâ
âBut I didnât want you missing out on a group event,â you interrupt.
âAnd thatâs very sweet of you,â he says as he takes his hand in yours. âI think I had my eyes opened yesterday.â
âIn what way?â
âBecause I didnât have my camera at brunch, I had a chance to really look around at everyone. I watched Mariah continuously warn Heath not to drink so much. I could hear Scott and Kristen snapping at each other because she didnât like what he was doing or saying. She even complained about his outfit. Right there in front of everyone. Then I thought about when Liza and I were dating. She used to pick out all my little faults too. She hated when I didnât get my hair cut, or if I didnât want to eat at a certain place. And then I thought of you. You donât care what my hair looks like. And if I want to eat at the same place every day youâre fine with it. Kristen spent an hour yesterday complaining that Scott hadnât bought her the right shoes for her birthday, and youâve never once asked for anything from me. And when I told you I wanted to go to brunch with everyone, you told me that it was okay. Even though you had every right to complain about it. I guess I came away from the brunch feeling a little guilty. Maybe that Iâm not treating you like I should be.â
âOr maybe you should realise Iâm your girlfriend and not your mother,â you point out. âItâs not my job to tell you what to eat and how to cut your hair. And if you want to hang out with your friends then I need to be okay with it. And I am. David you donât have to buy me things to make yourself feel like youâre being a good boyfriend. Iâd say youâre doing pretty well in that department.â
âSo you donât want a fancy dress or a new leather jacket?â David asks looking around the store.
âNot really,â you shrug. âAnyway Iâm more comfortable lounging around the house in a pair of shorts and a clickbait hoodie. I donât really need Gucci.â
âThis is what Iâm saying,â David says as he wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you towards him. âYouâre like the best girlfriend ever. And you know what else?â
âWhat?â you giggle as you wrap your arms around his neck.
âIf you swipe up right now, you get twenty percent off all clickbait merch,â he says as he points his finger up in the air. Causing you to giggle more.

Weâre perfect
David dobrik x reader
Vlog squad
A/N: this was requested, and I wrote this from my phone notes so I hope this is ok! đ
Masterlist
I open the door to Davidâs house instantly hearing the laughter and chatter. I smile and walk in and over the the living room where everyone was sprawled out. Carly is the first to notice me there and smiles, getting up to hug me. I go around the room giving people hugs after not seeing them for a week. When I make it to David the first thing I notice is his pissed off expression. Everyone falls back into their own conversations as I sit myself down on davids lap like I usually do.
âWhat are you doing here?â He hisses and Iâm a little taken back.
âUhm I texted you. But you didnât respond and I saw on Instagram that people were here and I havenât seen you for a couple days so I thought Iâd come over.â I mumble and he scoffs.
âWhen I didnt respond wasnât that an indicator that I didnât want you to come. Youâre always here, I need some spaceâ he whines pushing me off him onto the couch next to him. My eyes fill with tears but I look away from him.
âFine, whatever have your space I donât careâ I hiss back at him quietly before standing up. I cough a little to choke back my tears. âUhm. I just realised, Ive got somewhere I need to be and Iâm gonna be late so Iâll see you guys laterâ I announce to everyone and a round of see you laters arise.
âWill we see you tonight?â Corinna asks and my eyebrows furrow in confusion.
âTonight?â I trail off and everyone seems to look at each other oddly.
âThe party? Here...â heath exclaims, assuming Iâd know there was a party thrown by my boyfriend at his house. I clench my jaw and look towards David. He sinks deeper into the cushions and I scoff.
âOh yeah. I forgot. Uhm, Iâll try and make it overâ I say and everyone woohs. David makes no effort to say goodbye to me so I storm out the door and go home.
I spend the next few hours getting ready, making sure to look extra good. When itâs time to go I uber over to davids, not taking the chance of driving and being too drunk to drive home. The music is thumping as I step out of the Uber, thanking the driver. I walk up the path and open the door. The party was in full swing. A lot of people fill the house making it smell of sweat, alcohol and pizza but itâs nice. Everyone is chatting or dancing. I look around for David but canât seem to find him when I feel a tap on my back. I turn around and my eyes widen. One of my best friends from back home is standing in front of me.
âDylan!â I squeal and dive into his arms. He spins me around and I giggle. He sets me down again and I furrow my eyebrows. âNot that Iâm not excited youâre here but why are you here?â I question and he smirks holding his hand up. I see a ring on his engagement finger and my jaw drops. Him and his boyfriend have been dating for around 5 years- high school sweethearts I guess.
âIâm engaged bitchâ he grins and I jump up and down like a kid.
âWait what? When? How? Who proposed to who? I better be a bridesmaidâ I ramble and he holds my shoulders stopping me from talking. I had caught the attention of a couple of people and they look over curiously.
âI proposed to him and obviously he said yes. Of course youâre my best man- womanâ he says and I grin flinging my arms around him.
âWhere is Adam?â I ask before I feel arms wrap around my waist spinning my around. I squeal and laugh as they set me down. I turn and see Adam with three plastic cups in his hand.
âHey, I was getting us drinksâ he smiles and then sees liquid on the floor that used to be in the cups from when he spun me around. He shrugs and wraps his arm around me looking down at me. âDid he tell you?â He asks and I nod.
âCongratulationsâ I smile hugging him properly.
âWe need to get a picture so I can post my congrats on Instagramâ I laugh and they roll their eyes. We go off to find a nice place for a picture. I call Natalie over as she is closest to me and ask her to take a couple pictures, she agrees immediately.
We take one normal smiling photo before we take a couple goofy ones. We finally take one that weâre all happy with and thank natalie.
âHey, who are those guys?â Mariah asks.
âOhh. Itâs not like that. Theyâre gay, theyâve just gotten engaged! Theyâre my friends back home. I donât know who invited them here but here they areâ I smile.
âOh. I mean we knew youâd never cheat on David but it looked a bit suspicious until you explainedâ Liza exclaims and I laugh.
âNo other than a real drunk night in high school involving a game of truth or dare when Dylan and I had to kiss- thereâs nothing there, heâs completely gay and infatuated with Adam.â I grin.
âAnd youâre too infatuated with David to even comprehend the glares heâs sending you right nowâ Kristen giggles pointing behind me at David, who was in fact staring at me angrily. He rolls his eyes when we make eye contact and stumbles off with his camera.
I sigh and follow after him. He stands alone in a secluded part of the kitchen.
âHey I was looking for you where have you beenâ I smile trying to lighten his mood.
âSure, you didnât seem to be looking for me. Had your hands all over those guys. I mean what the fuck. If youâre gonna cheat on me, donât do it right under my fucking nose. Wait until your in private, slutâ he spits and my eyes widen. He bumps my shoulder roughly as he passes me and makes me topple over, slicing my palm open.
âWow David calm down broâ heath jumps between us.
âDavid, you need to go cool offâ zane pushes him away as he stands looking at me angrily, unfazed by my bleeding hand. Natalie rushes over with a kitchen towel wrapping it around my hand. I look at David hurtfully.
âWhat the fuck? I didnât do anything wrong. If you took any notice of me at all youâd know theyâre my friends-who are gay and also engaged. Youâve been too busy ignoring me all night and for the past week at that. If youâre gonna break up with me just do it like a man. Now. Donât be a pussy and drag it outâ I yell at him. His eyes widen and he steps towards me, I flinch and move behind Scott. The most pain Iâve ever seen flashes behind davids eyes in that moment.
âAre you scared of me?â He mumbles. By now, the music had been turned off and everyone was watching our argument. I avoid eye contact with him as a tear slips out. My hand is throbbing and I look down at it, the blood has soaked throw the towel.
âFuck, can someone please help me clean my handâ I sob. A couple people step foraward but David beats them to it.
âLet me do itâ he states. Zane and Scott look at me for confirmation. âOh come on. Iâm not gonna hurt her.â He groans. âJust let me help you, pleaseâ he chokes out, looking directly at me now. I bite my lip and nod. We silently go into the bathroom as he seats me on the counter. He closes the door and reaches down under the sink to retrieve the first aid kit. He pulls out the supplies and silently starts cleaning the cut. I hiss but he continues.
âIâm sorryâ he whispers.
âThatâs your apologyâ I roll my eyes.
âI wasnât finished.â He grits. âIm sorry for how Iâve been treating you, it was killing me ignoring you.â He states.
âThen why were you? And whatâs with all the stuff tonight, youâd know Iâd never cheat on youâ
âI just... itâs gonna sound so stupid.â He sighs running a hand through his hair. Heâd finished bandaging my hand now, it wasnât deep enough to need stitches, so I put my hand on his cheek. He sighs leaning into my touch. âI was avoiding you, and being mean to you because I was falling for you -way too hard and way too quick.â He exclaims and I stay silent, nodding for him to continue. âI just... with Liza, it took me so long to fall in love. Not for any reason, we just took things slow. And sheâs the only real girlfriend Iâve ever had. Then when I met you, I fell so so hard. I couldnât stop thinking about you. And I got scared, things were moving too quick between us, I panickedâ he shrugs.
âI think things are just fine. So what if weâre moving a little fast, weâre at the right pace for usâ I smile softly.
âI know itâs only been 4 months but Iâm in love with youâ He whispers.
âIâm in love with you tooâ I whisper back after a moment of processing his words. He looks relieved as he places a deep kiss on my lips. âIâve missed thatâ he grins moving into kiss me again. We pull away from each other with little grins that cannot seem to leave our faces. I hop off the counter and lace my non bandaged hand in his as we leave the bathroom. Our immediate friend group are sat in the living room- most likely trying to hear our conversation and hopefully failing. Everyone else had left.
âWe sent them homeâ Todd speaks up when they see our confusion. We both nod and David pulls his hand away from mine, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and pulling me close to him. He leaves a kiss on my forehead as a small grin makes its way onto my face.
âSooo you guys are ok?â Carly asks, speaking up for everyone. I look up at David and smile making him lean down and kiss my nose.
âYeah were goodâ I confirm and everyone letâs out a sigh of relief.
âI thought we were gonna have to choose between you guys and I couldnât do thatâ zane sighs dramatically making me giggle.
âWeâre goodâ I repeat looking up at David again.
âWeâre perfectâ davids smiles pulling me close to him again. A warmth spreads through my chest and I feel like a little girl whoâs crush just admitted that he likes her back- all giddy. Everyone starts filing out and then itâs just me, David and natalie. Natalie heads to her room and David and I head off to bed.
âWhat youâre not gonna edit anything?â I ask, which is seemingly all he does lately, he barely sleeps. He shakes his head.
âI donât have to post until tomorrow, and I wanna spend some time with my girl tonightâ he states, bringing my hand up to press a kiss to my bandage and I blush. The warmth rising in my chest again and butterflies rushing through my stomach when he calls me his girl.
âI love youâ I whisper.
âIm never gonna get tired of hearing that, i love you too, letâs go to sleepâ he laughs pulling me over to his bed to cuddle.

TWO?! - Toddy Smith x Reader
((GIF is not mine))
Pairing: Toddy Smith x Reader
Requested: nope.
Summary: You find out youâre pregnant after a drunken fumble with Toddy.
Words: 3,758
Warnings: this is looooong, I didnât mean it to be this long, pregnancy, young pregnancy (not that an age is mentioned), possibly wrong medical terms, description of a vaginal ultrasound??
A/N: Requests are open! Feel free to request stuff, but not Jeff at the moment, because I have a handful just for Jeff and although heâs very pretty heâs not the only one. I could also probably write a second part of this for the rest of the pregnancy and birth and possibly even a third for after the birth.Â
You stared down at the pregnancy stick, two lines glaring mockingly at you from the counter. This wasnât supposed to happen, you were too young to have a baby, and youâd done everything right. You took your pill religiously, but youâd been ill shortly before the conception, so your pills werenât working effectively.
Todd definitely wasnât ready to have a baby. Even though he was 26, he still acted like a child at the best of times. It was just a one-time fumble that happened when you were wearing your unreliable beer goggles. It had made David some great vlog footage, but it had also made you a mother, and changed the rest of your life.
Your first instinct was to run away, to run back to your home town and away from Toddy and your friends. But you knew you couldnât do that, your baby deserved to know its father and Toddy deserved to know he had a baby. The problem was that Toddy was on tour with Scotty and that was just not something you could break to him over FaceTime.
Letting out a deep breath, you began to pace up and down the short length of your bathroom. What were you going to do? You carded your hang through your messy hair. You were upset with yourself, how could you get yourself pregnant? Yes, you were financially stable, as was Todd, but you were also very young.
You had to talk to Natalie, Natalie would know what to do. You sprayed some deodorant on you and grabbed the pregnancy test from the counter, for proof, just in case Natalie thought you were joking with her and exited the bathroom. You grabbed your belongings as you made your way through your apartment, stopping to pick your keys up from the bowl by the door before making your way outside.
It wasnât a long drive in the grand scheme of things, but it dragged on, seeming like every traffic light turned red as you came to it. You were anxious to have to tell someone that you had a literal human growing inside you.
You parked your car down the road from Davidâs house and then went through the pedestrian gate, positive pregnancy test burning a hole in your pocket. You walked slowly up the drive, attempting to calm down a bit. You paced in front of the door for a while, before pulling your phone out of your pocket and texting Natalie to get her to come and open the door, so you didnât wake David and alert him to your presence.
Davidâs house was weirdly quiet when you walked through the door, you were used to it being full of people and louder than life. But it was still early on in the day, so half of the vlog squad were still asleep in their own homes.
âWhatâs up Y/N?â Natalie led you down the hallway to her own room. Natalieâs room was sort of like a safe haven in Davidâs house. Apart from the occasional prank that David pulled when Natalie wasnât there, her room was largely left alone.
You took a deep breath and then pulled the piece of plastic out of your pocket and shoving it into Natalieâs hands. You didnât say a word, partly because the test spoke for you and partly because you were terrified of Natalieâs reaction.
Natalie stared down at the stick in confusion, you could tell she was trying to find something about the stick that seemed fake, having been caught out before with David and Liza.
âItâs real.â You murmured, pulling your sweatshirt down over your hands.
Natalieâs eyes snapped up to meet yours. âWhen did you take this?â
âThis morning.â You replied. âItâs not the only one Iâve taken though. Four of them, all positive.â
Natalie let out a short breath before handing you back the test. âOkay, well we should get you an appointment anyway, just in case theyâre all wrong and youâll need to start having appointments.â Natalie pulled out her laptop and started typing. âThis is the gynaecologist that I use, theyâre very discrete. Iâll make you an appointment and go with you.â
You let out a breath of relief, feeling slightly better already, you knew Natalie would know what to do. She was sort of the fixer of the group.
Natalie bit her lip. âHow far along do you think you are?â You knew Natalie wasnât just asking you how many weeks pregnant you were, she was also trying to find out who the father was through dates.
âAbout two months. It was that partyâŠâ You didnât need to say anymore, practically the whole world knew that you had had sex with Todd at that party.
âSo⊠Toddy?â Natalie concluded. You gave a short nod. âHave you told him?â
You shook your head quickly. âNo, heâs on tour with Scotty, itâs not something that I can just blurt out over the phone.â
Natalie turned back to her laptop, fingers tapping away quickly, but accurately, pulling up Scottyâs tour schedule. âHeâll be back for the two L.A. shows in just over two weeks. That gives us the chance to get you into the gynaecologists.â
âThank you, Natalie.â A few tears fell.
You sat next to Natalie in the waiting room, bouncing your leg up and down nervously. Natalie had managed to get you an appointment only two days after youâd told her, and the gynaecologist was already 10 minutes late. The receptionist had hurried over to you 5 minutes before your appointment time and had told you that the OBGYN was finishing up a caesarean.
âMiss Y/L/N?â The receptionist called out. âDr Chang is waiting for you in room 4.â
You were frozen, so Natalie responded with a polite thank you and pulled you up by the hand and lead you to room 4.
Dr Chang was a pretty Asian doctor, who youâd place in her early to mid-30s. She was kind looking and greeted you with a smile. âItâs nice to meet you Miss Y/L/N, Iâm sorry for the wait, the previous patient had a bit of a panic before her caesarean, but she has a lovely baby boy now.â
You smiled nervously. âY/N, please, weâre going to be seeing a lot of each other, I guess. This is Natalie.â You gestured to your best friend, who was sat on the other side of the room, the space usually reserved for the father, you guessed.
âNice to meet you both, if youâd just like to take a seat on the bed so I can ask you some questionsâŠâ You watched Dr Chang click away on her computer, presumably bringing up your file. âNow, we checked your urine sample, and you definitely are pregnant. Do you know the date of your last period?â
You bit your lip attempting to work it out, but eventually blurted out a date. âI think Iâm about 10 weeks.â
âAnd have you experienced any symptoms so far?â Dr Chang typed into the file.
âIâve been feeling a bit nauseous, but Iâve not actually been sick, and my stomach kind of feels odd, but it doesnât hurt exactly, and my breasts are kind of tender.â You reeled off the symptoms that youâd been experiencing, glad that you didnât seem to have morning sickness just yet. âIâve also been bleeding a little bit, which is why I didnât realise I was pregnant sooner.â
Dr Chang entered the information in with a few taps on the keyboard and then stood up. âWeâll need to do an ultrasound, just to check that everything is okay with baby, due to the bleeding. Iâm just going to take a blood sample from you, Y/N.â You nodded your approval, and Dr Chang took a couple of vials of blood.
âIâm going to take these to the lab if you could pop on this hospital gown and lie down on the bed for me. Take your underwear off, but you can leave your bra on.â
After the doctor had left the room, you stripped off your top and sweats, pulled the gown over your head and then pulled your panties off from underneath, placing them in a neat pile on the other chair in the room. Natalie had seen you completely naked a number of times, but you felt more self-conscious lately. You arranged yourself on the bed, not putting your legs into the stirrups as you were sure the doctor would tell you if you needed to.
Dr Chang knocked on the door before entering with a smile. âBecause youâre only around 8-9 weeks, we have to do the ultrasound vaginally, or I wonât be able to see baby very well.â You watched nervously as she pulled on a pair of gloves and sanitised the vaginal probe and covered it with what looked like a long condom, before setting it back on the sterile field.
âRight then.â Dr Chang wheeled herself in between your legs. âNatalie, come forward, and you can see on the ultrasound too. If you can just pop your legs up onto the stirrups, Y/N.â
Your shaky legs just about cooperated with you as you moved them into the stirrups, having to scoot down the bed slightly to do so. Dr Chang covered your modesty up with a thin sheet and started to cover the speculum in medical grade lubricant.
âIâm just going to insert this into your vaginal canal, try not to tense up, because it will make it harder for you.â You grabbed onto Natalieâs hand and squeezed it, taking a deep breath and trying your hardest to relax.
The speculum was cold as it pressed into you and you had to actively work not to jump at the feeling, knowing that it would probably hurt you if you did. âNow, Iâm going to insert the probe up through your vaginal canal and into your cervix, there will be a bit of pressure, and it may feel slightly uncomfortable, but it shouldnât hurt.â Dr Chang looked up and waited for you to nod your approval.
Dr Chang was right, there was a slightly uncomfortable pressure low in your stomach, but it didnât hurt. You felt the probe turning inside you, it was a strange feeling. Dr Changâs gaze was settled on the ultrasound screen as she moved the probe around tapping to take measurements.
âHmmâŠâ Dr Changâs eyes narrowed slightly as she scrutinised the screen.
Your heart dropped, was there something wrong with your baby? âWhat? What is it? Is there something wrong with the baby?â Although you were scared, this was your baby, you wanted it.
Dr Chang turned back to you a smile. âNot at all. There are actually two babies though.â Your eyes widened comically, and you turned to Natalie, who also looked a little shocked. âHere is baby A,â Dr Chang pointed at a small grey dot on the screen. âAnd this is baby B.â She pointed again. âYou are just under 10 weeks pregnant and developing nicely. As this is a whatâs considered a high-risk pregnancy youâll have to come and see me more often than if it was just one baby.â
âOh wow...â You stared at the handful of ultrasound pictures that the doctor had handed to you. Not even noticed that Dr Chang had pulled the probe and the speculum back out of you. âThank you, Dr Chang.â
âRight, thatâs all we need to do today, if you could come back in two weeks to see me again, we can check how these babies are developing.â Your doctor smiled and left the room. âIâll leave you to get dressed.â
âNatalie there are two babies!â You exclaimed, carefully moving your legs off of the stirrups, so you didnât get a cramp and carefully standing up off of the bed.
âI know, how crazy is that.â Natalie smiled kindly at you, you could tell it was a little too much even for her.
âToddyâs gonna flip.â You whined lightly, passing the ultrasound pictures to Natalie while you pulled the gown off after pulling on your panties. After examining your stomach briefly, you pulled the rest of your clothes on and stepped into your trainers.â
âHe canât be angry at you Y/N. You both made the decision to have sex with each other. Itâs both of your responsibilities.â
Natalie handed you your bag and the ultrasound pictures, and you pressed them into your diary, making a mental note to buy some kind of pregnancy diary to keep track of everything.
âItâs still nerve-wracking though.â Natalie directed you towards reception, and you made an appointment for the day after Toddy got back so that he could come to the appointment with you if all went well.
Over the two weeks since your first appointment you had bought a pregnancy diary and had started tracking your symptoms, and you had even called your parents, now that you were 12 weeks. You parents were happy to become grandparents and were ready to support you with anything that you needed.
Natalie was still the only other person that knew, and you were sure that some of the vlog squad were starting to get pretty suspicious, because you were now way more fatigued, avoided drinking and seemed ill a lot of the time. You had also started to gain a little bit of weight, and it was visible in both your breasts and your stomach, but it was easily covered with baggier clothes. Luckily you were only an hour away from Toddy and would be able to tell everyone else the next day after your next appointment.
Your heart jumped out of your chest as Toddy and Scotty bounded through the door to Davidâs house. You locked eyes with Natalie, who gave you a comforting smile and a nod of encouragement.
When you first saw Toddy, you were shocked, he looked even better than he had the last time you saw him. His hair had grown out a bit, and his skin was more tanned than usual. You cursed your pregnancy hormones as butterflies started erupting in your stomach at the sight of your baby daddy.
You waited until the excitement had died down a little and grabbed Toddy and your bag, slipping away from everyone and pulling him into Natalieâs room, which sheâd given you permission to leave.
âWoah, woah, woah, Y/N.â Toddy laughed, winking slightly. âI know you're excited to see me, but you donât need to pull me.â
Your rolled your eyes and sat down on Natalieâs bed, pulling Toddy down next to you. âToddy, do you remember that we had sex at Davidâs party about 3 months ago?â
Toddy grinned. âOf course, I do baby, are you looking for a repeat performance?â Toddyâs hand landed on your legging covered thigh and rubbed lightly.
You chocked back a laugh. âNo, Toddy.â You decided to rip the band-aid off. âIâm pregnant.â Recognition and understanding shone immediately in Toddyâs eyes, and his mouth dropped open. âWith twins.â You winced slightly, dropping the second bombshell. You pulled your bag onto your lap and pulled out the positive pregnancy test youâd shown Natalie a few weeks prior and the ultrasound pictures.
Toddy was frozen. He was so shocked, how had this happened? He wasnât ready to be a dad. He was about to go and finish off a tour with Scotty, he couldnât just leave Y/N alone in L.A., pregnant with his babies.
You lightly rubbed your hand on Toddyâs shoulder, and he snapped back to the present. You handed him the evidence and then stood up to reveal the slight swelling of your stomach. Toddy looked wide-eyed from the ultrasound pictures to your belly and back and forth until a slow smile spread across his face.
âThose are our babies in there!â He exclaimed and then held his hand out towards your stomach, waiting for your okay before he cupped your swollen stomach. âHow long have you known?â Toddy was suddenly quite excited, he was still nervous, and he was sure heâd end up messing the kids up, but heâd try his best.
âIâd suspected for maybe two weeks before I found out for sure and itâs been two weeks since then, so about a month. I couldnât just tell you over FaceTime.â You murmured. âNatalie knows, because I freaked out to start with and I knew that Natalie would know what to do and I told my parents too, I hope thatâs okay.â
Toddy was still enthralled with your stomach gently touching it and smiling. âItâs fine, Y/N, you were all on your own here.â
You gave the boy a smile. âI have another ultrasound appointment tomorrow, you should come with me if you can.â
Toddy nodded and finally removed his hands from your small bump. âIâd love to.â
He tried to hand the picture back to you, but you told him that it was his copy to keep. You had your own copy, and youâd given one to Natalie, who you knew youâd make Godmother when the time came, and youâd sent another to your parents, leaving just one spare that Toddy could give to his parents if he so wished.
âWeâd better get back out there before they think weâre having sex in here.â You joked lightly, pulling your shirt back down and checking in Natalieâs mirror that you were covered again.
You were glad but pretty surprised that Toddy had taken it so well, you were sure he was due for a freak out at some point, but you felt good about it then.
You smiled down at the new ultrasound you had been given of your twin babies, as Toddy drove back towards Davidâs house. You had been told this time that they would be identical twins, meaning that both babies would be the same gender.
You were surprised that Toddy was still taking it all so well and he had been asking plenty of questions to Dr Chang about the babies and how much you should be doing.
âAre you ready to tell them all?â Toddy asked you, looking over at where you were smiling at the images of your babies.
âYes and no. Iâll be glad that I donât have to lie to them anymore, Josh and Jason have started to get really suspicious, Iâm guessing because they have children and Carly and Erin are a bit suspicious too. I also donât feel ready because I donât want our babies to end up as clickbait for Davidâs vlogs and I also donât want to be judged that our drunk fumble led to this.â You ranted softly, knowing that Toddy would understand you.
âI think itâs time to tell them. Weâll just make it clear that we arenât ready to tell the YouTube fans yet, so it isnât to be spoken about in videos.â Toddy smiled at you, and you sighed in relief and went back to looking at the ultrasounds.
When you next looked up from the images, you were back at Davidâs, and your heart started to race. You and Natalie had spoken at great lengths about how you and Toddy should tell the rest of the vlog squad that there were two babies on the way and you had decided on a game of pass the parcel. It was a bit childish, but it would create shock. You decided to film it, pretending it was footage for Toddyâs channel, which in a way it was, it just wouldnât be used for at least two more months.
You had wrapped a framed copy of your newest ultrasound, annotated to say baby A and baby B and a positive pregnancy test, in about 20 different layers of wrapping paper, shoving small packets of sweets in between. Natalie had made sure to invite everyone over, even the Antonyanâs and they were all just hanging out, unaware that they were about to receive the surprise of their lives.
When you got into Davidâs house, Natalie ushered everyone into the living room, and Toddy explained the rules of the game. To start with everyone passed the parcel slowly, but as the layers of wrapping paper diminished, they started to worry about what exactly was in the last layer.
Toddy paused the music again, the parcel in Zaneâs hands and he wrapped off a layer to reveal a shiny red layer and a packet of Hariboâs. You knew that there was only two layers left now and was starting to get nervous.
The next time the music stopped the parcel was in Vardanâs hands, and he ripped it off to find his own packet of sweets. âThis is the last layer,â Toddy announced with a grin, everyone looked slightly scared at the idea of having to see what Toddy had wrapped up.
Toddy let the music play through a whole song this time, watching amusedly as everyone practically threw the parcel to the next person. After the song ended Toddy stopped the music once again, leaving the parcel in Davidâs hands.
âSeems like all my surprises have come back to bite me on my ass.â David giggled but looked determined as he ripped off the last sheet of paper to reveal the small box, youâd put the frame and test in to stop anybody being able to tell what it was straight away. David gently pulled the lid off the box and peered in. âNo way! Seriously you guys?!â
You grinned and nodded. The rest of the squad moved forward, trying to catch a glimpse of what was in the parcel, so David pulled out the stick and the frame and put them on to the coffee table.
âYouâre pregnant?!â Scottyâs voice rang out. âWhy didnât you tell me?â He whined at Toddy.
âI didnât know she was pregnant until we came back, itâs not the sort of thing she could just tell me over the phone.â Toddy grinned and wrapped his arm around your waist, hand wrapping protectively over your stomach.
âI KNEW IT!â Josh and Jason exclaimed in chorus.
Zane was staring between your stomach and the ultrasound picture as if he couldnât understand how a baby got in your stomach. While Heath and David had gone to hug Toddy in congratulation and Erin and Carly were hugging you.
âWait there are two babies?â Joshâs voice rang out over everyone elseâs excitement after heâd moved to take a closer look at the frame.
Everyone went silent, and you and Toddy grinned at everyoneâs reaction. âTWO?!â

Cheater -- Part 2
Pairing: Mob!Tom x Reader
Warning: Sexual harassment, violence
A/N: I wanted to get this out sooner but I've been so busy recently. So sorry for the wait
______
It had been three months since you caught Tom. Three months since you walked out on him forever.
You hadn't seen him since that day. You had been relying on Tom's money for so long, you had to stay over a friend's house until you made enough money to rent an apartment.
It had been hard, but you refused to go back to him. Leaving him had its perks. You didn't have to live in fear for his or your own life anymore, you got to focus on your education, and you got to fix old friendships you lost. Overall, you felt like a normal person for once.
But at the same time, you were in so much pain. The two of you were engaged. You were supposed to get married. You loved him, you didn't believe you could ever love someone that much again. He made you feel beautiful and loved. He was a drug that you had been addicted to, and at some points you believed the withdrawal symptoms would kill you. But you were strong, and you wouldn't run back to him.
Tom on the other hand had been doing much worse than you had. Nothing in Tom's life brought him joy. You were always the one to make him genuinely happy. So with you gone from his life without a single word, he had lost himself in his work. He gained more and more enemies every day because of it. The more money and power he gained was never enough, he was insatiable, craving something that would make the pain a little more bearable. And he found that one thing that made the pain lessen, was to make sure you were safe. He had you followed, had tabs kept on you every week. He knew everything. He even knew that you had gotten a little better from the break up every week while he continued to worsen.
Tom sighed, throwing the papers down on his desk and leaning back into his seat. Frenetic knocking sounded from his office door.
"Come in," Tom shouted, annoyed.
The doors swung open revealing one of his men. "Sir, (Y/N) was kidnapped." The man panted.
Tom's eyes widened and he stood up abruptly. "Go and get Harrison."
~~~~
(Three hours earlier)
You laughed at your friend who decided to visit you at the bar you worked at.
"You actually made him cry?" You laughed.
Your friend nodded her head, "Yeah, it was so funny. Like why be in a debate class and not be able to carry your own argument. He got so frustated he literally stood there and started crying."
"I'm impressed Liza-" You noticed someone sitting down at the bar. "I'll be right back." You said nodding towards the man's direction. She nodded back taking a sip of her drink.
You approached the man nonchantly. "Anything I can get for you?"
The man seemed a little strange, and it was hard to see his face since it was covered by his hood. He lifted his head glancing at your nametag. "Nothing right now, (Y/N)." He said as an unsettling grin formed on his lips.
"Um, alright. Just call if you want something." You hurried away. You felt your heart beat quicken.Â
You weren't stupid, you had met plenty of terrifying men while you were with Tom. The only question was if this man was part of a mob or just some creep.Â
"You okay?" Your friend asked as you approached her. "You look pale."
"I'm- I'm fine. Uh, so what were you saying before?"
~~
The rest of the night seemed to go by smoothly enough, about an hour after you spoke to the unsetting man he had left, making you feel much better.Â
It had gotten pretty late and unfortunately you were the one that was left to close that night. You finished wiping down the bar and all of the tables.
"So, Tom Holland, huh?"
You snapped your head towards the bar, your eyebrows furrowing. It was the same man from before. "How-?"
"That lock." He nodded towards the door. "Child's play. Now, I'm very interested in you (Y/N). Would never peg a girl like you to go around fucking men in the mafia. I see why he would fuck you, though." He said raking his eyes up and down your body.
You scoffed, and crossed your arms. "It was one man. And we're not together anymore so I can't help you with whatever it is you want."
"Oh, but sweetheart. I think you can." He said standing up.Â
A flash caught your eye and you found a gun hanging loosley from his hand. Of course there was a gun. There was always a gun.Â
He came closer and slowly began circling around you. You stood completely still. "You two were supposed to get married weren't you?" You nodded. "And it turns out Tommyboy is still in love with you."
You felt your heart jump. Of course you were terrified for your life, but Tom still had this power over your heart.
"Oh what's this? You're blushing. Do you still love him too?"
You swallowed nervously. "No, I hate him."
"Hm, I don't believe you-."
"What do you want? You're not really here to talk about my love life, so what do you want?"
"Ooh, okay, I think I'm starting to understand why Holland likes you so much. You're firey. But you're right, what I'm actually here is for leverage."
"Wha-?" But before you could finish, you felt the butt of the gun slam into your head and you were out.
~~
"She's pretty isn't she?"
"Keep it in your pants, that's not what she's here for."
"Yeah but still. Do y'think the boss will let us have a little fun with her before we have to kill her."
"Shut the fuck up and do your job, alright."
"Well he isn't wrong." A third voice interjected. "Holland was a lucky bastard."
You slightly groaned, as you blinked your eyes open, your head pounding. You lifted your head finding the three men that had been speaking, circling around you.
"Good morning, princess. How's your head?" You recognized this voice from the first man that had spoken. He was tall with black hair.
"Don't call me princess."
The two other men laughed. "I'm gonna get the boss. James come with me." The more serious one said before leaving the room with James leaving you alone with the black haired man.
"So you were really gonna marry Holland?" He asked, but you looked away from him and ignored what he said. "Tell me why a girl who seems so obviously innocent would go for a freak like Holland. Hm? Is it cause you like it rough, cause sweetheart if you like it rough, I can have you cumming in seconds."
"You're disgusting. I'd never let you touch me." You spat.
The man slowly started to approach you. Once he reached you, he gripped your chin pulled your face close to his. "Such a filthy mouth." He grinned in amusement. "Did Holland let you speak to him like that or do you like to be put in your place." He leaned in closer so his lips were by your ear. "I bet you're a dirty little slut betwee-"
"I wouldn't finish that sentence if I were you." An all too familiar voice said.Â
Both your head and the man's snapped towards the door seeing Tom and Harrison standing there covered in blood with raised guns pointed at the man.
The man stood up, "Holl-" but before he could finish both Tom and Harrison shot him dead.
"T-Tom?" You choked out.
"Shh, darling, I've got you." He said, walking over and untying you from the chair you were in. Once the tape was off, you pulled Tom into you, and hugged him tightly, despite the blood that was on him.
You hated him so much but you also loved him and seeing him after being kidnapped all logic left you. You cried into him as he held you tightly to him. You hated to admit how much you really missed him.
"Let's get you out of here, darling."
~~
You sat across from Tom in the back of his car. Harrison was driving.
Neither of you said a word, as you gazed out the window and as Tom took glances at you.
"...Thanks for saving me." You mumbled.
"Of course, da-"
"But just so you know. I still really fucking hate you."
Tom sighed. "I figured as much."
"How did you know where I was?"
"I...I've had some of my men watch you since you left."
You snapped your head towards him. "You what?"Â
"I had to keep tabs on you. I'm still in love with you y'know. And my business is messy, I wanted to make sure you were safe." You stayed silent understanding his reasoning. "...Just so you know, I really miss you princess. If it means anything, I haven't had sex with another woman since you've left."
You scoffed. "Nice to know you only have sex with other women when you're with me."
He sighed again and ran a hand through his hair. "Come on darling, please. ââââââI need you so much, please just come back."
"...You really fucked up Tom."
"I know, but it'll never happen again, it should've never happened in the first place. I was a fucking idiot. I love you so much, I don't know how to function without you and you're all I think about and it kills me that I don't get to see your beautiful face anymore. Please, give me one more chance."
You gave Tom a pained look. You were so confused. You sat in silence for a few minutes, thinking.
"Fine, this is how it's going to go." Tom perked up. "Basically, you destroyed the last five years we've been together. So if you want to get back together we're starting on square one again. Which means I'm not moving back in, we're not going to have sex for a long time, and we're obviously not going to get married anymore, until you can build my trust back."
Tom nodded, "Yes, please, I'll do anything you want."
"And Tom, I swear if you do anything to break my heart like that again, you will never see me again."
"I will never break your heart again. I can't live without you."
"Then... I guess we're back together."
He smiled widely. "I guess we are."
