The difference between a skeptic and a misdirector is found in their arguments. The misdirector already knows that the argument is either true or false, but they gain something from keeping you as far away as possible from the truth. A skeptic doesn't know either way, but they have no skin on whether you believe something or not.

Letting his friend get some much-needed rest, Nathaniel went back to scrolling through his phone with a smile on his face, failing to notice when a certain pink-haired gremlin decided to seize the opportunity to snap a quick picture with her phone of the two boys. Satisfied, Alix looked at the picture of her two adorable friends on her phone with a smirk. “Glad that I decided to sit in front of them this time,” She thought to herself, “I am totally sharing this pic with our class!”
Yeah, I know that this isn’t the last sentence and it’s more like the last paragraph, but the last sentence wouldn’t have made any sense without some context. Anyway, this is the last bit from my “Misdirector” fanfiction from AO3.
Now who to tag……
@sassyduckqueen @andromeda612
WIP ask game -- post the last sentence you wrote and then tag as many people as are in that sentence!
Tagged by @pleasegivejinlingabreak. Ok first off, that snippet was tantalizing and I can't wait to read the fic!! Second, I'm not gonna post the last sentence, my writing process is too hectic for that 😅
Had it not been for the laws of their society, Ouyang Róuqíng may have very well kowtowed before Wei Wuxian and his son –anyone with half a working eye could see the Lan boy was indeed his. Or kissed them. Really, it was up in the air, that one. The boy still had the tiniest bit of chub to his cheeks, after all. It would be a crime to not at least pinch them.
Here's the first paragraph though. It's for the junior bingo squares 'Outsider POV' and 'Crackfic'
Now let's see. Tagging:

Mireille is so shy that even the narrative doesn't seem to notice her. / sarcasm (about LfM)
Oh nooo! How DARE I. I truly am so heartless to not include her in the main cast that I'm pretty satisfied with in size and already have this fic practically finished that including her now would be entirely pointless or I have to put LfM on another hiatus to rewrite the whole thing to include her and spend time trying to think of things to make her more interesting or unique to include when I really don't want.
I guess there's only one solution for this: you'll have to write something yourself anon as I'm not interested in including her and I'm not going to put LfM on another hiatus to think up something for her and include her more when I already have a cast I'm satisfied with. She's now Aurore’s friend outside Marinette’s main circle and that's where she's going to stay in LfM.
If you don't like this, just write something for her yourself. You coming to me sarcastically isn't going to change anything, ESPECIALLY when this fic is almost done. I'm halfway through Ch 23 and its supposed to end at 24. It's waaaay too late to start thinking about including Mirielle and it'd be too much of a hassle to go back and rework things for this character that doesn't even interest me and I gotta admit, I find her pretty forgettable. Even canon largely forgets that she exists, she doesn't even have her own akuma yet to offer something unique to her personality (like Jean being a magician suggest a love of magic, flare of charisma, and being a misdirector or mischief maker).
If you really want Mirielle to have more attention and focus, go make content for her. You're not going to get it with me. LfM was planned without her inclusion and I'm not going to make changes now when I'm so close to finishing it.

Lily Collins: Hollywood's Angel by Jessica Jardine.
(click here to see the photoshoot and here to go to the website.)
Ahead of playing one of the biggest parts of her career — Fantine in BBC's upcoming Les Misérables — we cast Lily Collins in a new role as a mythical angel of Hollywood, flitting unseen through the streets of Los Angeles while giving young, starry-eyed hopefuls some divine inspiration.
Lily Collins isn't the type of person who relishes downtime. So in 2016, when the actress saw an unusually blank stretch in front of her work-wise, she decided to fill it by writing her first memoir. She set up six months of intense deadlines, but "of course, as luck would have it, the second that I got these deadlines and a publisher and editor, I booked three [acting] projects back to back," Collins says. "So, what was going to be my Sex in the City / Carrie Bradshaw / move to New York and write a book moment then [became] writing in and out of LA on sets. It turned out to be one of the proudest accomplishments, but also one of the hardest things I've ever done."
The end result was last year's Unfiltered: No Shame, No Regrets, Just Me, a well-received collection of honest, introspective essays reflecting on life as the daughter of a megastar father (Phil Collins of Genesis and solo fame); growing up in LA after moving from England following her parents' divorce; dating and her longtime struggle with an eating disorder. The book's release was timed with her starring turn in To the Bone, a Netflix film about a woman battling anorexia that earned Collins rave reviews but also had her preparing for the physically and emotionally daunting role while digging into her own past. "I felt like I needed to unload some baggage in order to move forward on a clean slate," she says. "It just so happened to be before I turned 30, which was wonderful to go into that next phase of my life, but it was also something I knew personally and also professionally needed to happen."
Writing a soul-searching memoir while starring in a wrenching drama is pretty indicative of Collins's overachiever nature. Her famous last name might have opened some doors — which she's been candid about her whole career — but it's clear there's a gritty determination that's never allowed the diminutive brunette to rest on her laurels. Take, for example, when she was aiming to launch a career as a TV host and reporter while a student at the University of Southern California. She was sent to cover President Obama's 2009 inauguration on one of the coldest days on record in Washington D.C. — and got actual frostbite in the process. "I was literally freezing," she says. "I was under 10 of those silver blankets that make you warm and my feet got so cold I had minor frostbite and the next day on the flight home I was in so much pain... I had to wear flip flops because I couldn't fit into my shoes because they were so swollen."
Her toes stayed intact after that frigid day, but the Golden Globe Award-nominated actress (for 2016's Rules Don't Apply) found herself freezing again in the streets of Brussels this past winter for one of the biggest roles of her career. Collins takes on the iconic part of downtrodden Fantine in the upcoming BBC adaptation of Les Misérables, also starring Olivia Colman, David Oyelowo and Dominic West, which will reach American audiences this spring. "It was mental," she says of the five-month shoot in Belgium. "It was, at one point, I think minus 13 [degrees]. I was out in the streets. They filmed the end of [Fantine's] life first because it had to go chronologically in terms of weather — from winter to summer — and the end of Fantine's life happens in the winter. My second day of filming I had to die. And I worked my way back — literally raised her from the dead."
Taking on one of the most coveted roles in the world for a young actress was a feat not lost on Collins, especially given the intense emotional attachment Les Mis fans feel to the story. But when asked if she felt any nerves on how superfans might receive the six-part non-musical, she appears pretty even-keeled. "People are going to have opinions on who these characters should be and how they should act," she says, "and you're never going to be everyone's perfect version of these things. [Les Misdirector] Tom [Shankland] was a huge advocate for me of bringing me."
That blend of Collins's personal journey and the willingness to deep-dive into the lives of the characters she plays continues to serve her well as her career thrives. Shortly after Les Mis premieres, fans will see Collins in Tolkien, the much-anticipated biopic about the legendary author that sees the actress playing J.R.R. Tolkien's wife. In the meantime, though, she's already laying the groundwork for another memoir. "I'm constantly taking notes and adding to the file for number two," she says. "[I'm] having conversations with friends where I go, 'Oh my god, this is amazing. Wait a second. Please hold. Don't think I'm being rude. I just need to make this note because I don't want to forget anything.'"

one of the most fascinating elements of love and duty (1931), which i feel i have not yet sufficiently explored, is its interesting position regarding arranged marriage. in order to more deeply analyze this feature of the film, i rewatched one of my other favorite chinese films about arranged marriage, zhang yimou’s raise the red lantern (1991). in terms of the sheer comparability of the two, it must be noted that zhang was almost certainly not influenced by love and duty (1931) in the creation of this film, as it was lost before his birth and not rediscovered until 1994. however, because raise the red lantern (1991) cannot be considered in any way a response to love and duty (1931), comparing their shared elements can lend a deeper insight into the cultural connotations of those elements at these various points. firstly, we have the protagonist. in both cases, she is a schoolgirl who, against her will, marries a wealthy man. in love and duty (1931), however, this schoolgirl is a well of pathos, ruan lingyu’s visual performance providing all indications of emotion in the absence of sound, and deeply likable despite her infidelity. gong li’s performance in raise the red lantern (1991), on the other hand, is subdued to the point of emotionlessness, deliberately relegated to the role of an object rather than an actor, and her character is almost proudly difficult to like. secondly, in both films there is a scheming servant; however, in the earlier film this servant plots and schemes due to what simply seems his nature, whereas the servant of the latter simply acts out of jealousy for the protagonist, who is like her in everything but birth. finally, we come to the heart of the matter: the husband and children. this is the point where love and duty (1931) is most interesting. the husband of that film is unfaithful to his wife, it is true, but this is hardly condemned by the film; rather, he is praised for the warm and tender relationships he has with his children. it is for abandoning these relationships that the protagonist is condemned, not for infidelity. by contrast, the husband and children of raise the red lantern (1991) hardly feature in the film, despite driving the entire plot. the four concubines of the film have no emotional connection with either, and no relationship at all that is not entirely mediated by tradition and the family rules. there is a profound and claustrophobic loneliness to raise the red lantern (1991), contrasted with the almost vertigo-inducing freedom of emotion in love and duty (1931); in the former film, its female characters have no choices, and in the latter, they have no options. what can we make of this? it seems that in love and duty (1931) arranged marriage and indeed same-generation relationships in general are subordinate to intergenerational relationships; being trapped in a loveless arranged marriage should not get in the way of raising and cherishing children. the loveless arranged marriage is still condemned, of course, but only insofar as it negatively impacts parent-child relationships, which can still thrive within them if both parents remain faithful to their children. compare, then, with raise the red lantern (1991), in which these arranged marriages are condemned as a symptom of a disease, a far-reaching arm of the body of tradition, which blunts and sours relationships between spouses, between siblings, between classes, between generations. this sentiment is much more in line with not only later golden age film such as jia (1944) but also with contemporary fifth generation film such as yellow earth (1984) and red sorghum (1987). in contrast with raise the red lantern (1991), which presents a story in which all interpersonal feeling is stunted by arranged marriage and the body of tradition it represents, love and duty (1931) seems to show that arranged marriage is a potential misdirector, but not inherent corrupt, of interpersonal and particularly intergenerational feeling

Misdirector's Magical Charms
So the next chapter of Misdirector is coming along nicely. I decided to take a short breather from writing when I started thinking about how Misdirector is going to look when I finally have to write his Akuma's appearance into the story. So far, I have a general idea of what I want Misdirector to look like, but the color scheme is the one thing that I am still debating over. And once I started thinking about the color scheme, that also got me thinking about how I wanted the magical charm that Marc receives from Ladybug after he is deakumatized to look. So today, I decided to create some concept designs of the magical charms using this template from @Kionu_art and came up with two designs. Both charms were colored using the color schemes of old movie films with one being black and white, while the other is more tan and brown. Out of these two charms, which one do you guys think I should use as Misdirector's magical charm as well as the color scheme for his akuma's design? Leave your vote in the comments below and let your voice be heard! I'll even give your tumblr tag a shout out at the end of my next chapter!

More Accurate IT Acronyms
IT is flooded with acronyms. It takes a third of our working life to figure out what they all mean. Protocols aren’t any easier to figure out if it’s just a string of three or four letters that look vaguely like a word. Which, by the way, you should never pronounce.
But what if the acronyms of our favorite protocols didn’t describe what the designers wanted but instead described what they actually do?
Sporadic Network Mangling Protocol
Obscurity Sends Packets Flying
Expensive Invention Gets Routers Puzzled
Vexing Router Firmware
Really Intensive Protocol
Someone Doesn’t Worry About Networking
Somewhat Quixotic Language
Blame It oN DNS
Cisco’s Universal Call Misdirector
Some Mail’s Thrown Places
Mangles Packets, Looks Silly
Amazingly Convoluted Lists
ImProperly SECured
May Push Lingering Sanity To Expire
Are there any other ones you can think of? Leave it in the comments.

Misdirector Chapter Two Sneak Peek
AO3 READERS BE WARNED: SPOILERS!!!!!
So I've been writing a lot lately, and I just finished the first part of chapter 2 of my "Misdirector" fanfiction. I still have a bit to go, but I hope to get the next chapter out sooner than I did with the first one. In the meantime, here's a small preview of the second chapter that I have been writing over the past few days:
Even though she was reminded about the insults she said to her fellow students, Chloé, however, remained unfazed. “Well, I still mean all of it,” she said, “But if this stupid, childish film actually gets released in theaters and turns someone into a star, that someone should be me! So, you're gonna give me the part my half-of-a-sister is playing because everything she owns is mine!”
With a quick “Hmph!” Chloé turned and started walking away.
“Ch-Chloé, we c-can’t do that…..” A mumbling voice spoke up.
Chloé immediately stopped in her tracks. She turned around and scanned the room for whoever dared to speak out of turn. Instantly, she noticed that the “lame writer”, Marc Anciel, was now standing up, looking down at his fingers as he fidgeted with them to avoid making eye contact with the blonde. Chloé stormed up to the writer, seething with anger. “Um, excuse me?!” She exclaimed, “What did you just say to me, Anciel?”
Chloé roughly jabbed her index finger at Marc’s chest, causing the young man to flinch back from both pain and intimidation. He was now regretting that he spoke up, but there was no going back from it now, especially with an irritated Chloé up in his face. Still fidgeting with his fingers and looking down anxiously, Marc started to speak again. “L-Like Mr. Astruc said, i-it’s too late to ch-change anything,” he mumbled, “W-We d-don’t have enough t-time-.....”
“Ugh, here you go again with the mumbling! What are you even saying?!” Exclaimed Chloé, causing Marc to flinch again and shrink back, “I swear, it’s like every single time you’re talking to me if it’s not mumbling then you’re stuttering! Do you have any idea how ridiculous you sound when you mumble and stutter?! Utterly ridiculous! Not to mention so annoying that I can’t even understand a word you’re saying. If our so-called writer of those ridiculous “Ladybug and Chat Noir” comics is so talented, then shouldn’t you be capable of talking like a normal person?! Now then you “Stuttering Disaster”, if you have something to say then just say it! And this time, SPEAK UP!”
Marc flinched back as Chloé yelled out the last part. Not since earlier today when Clara Contard was doing her news report did Marc want to so badly run away, but he found himself frozen in place despite the intense heat that he felt throughout his body. All eyes were on him, waiting for him to respond. He tried to speak up again. Marc tried hard to find the courage to tell Chloé that she couldn’t just steal the lead role that her half-sister, Zoé, had earned through her talent and hard work. He didn’t care that Chloé was mocking him or his writing, but she had no right to just swoop in and snatch away the part that her sister rightfully deserved more than her. However, when Marc opened his mouth, there was only silence. He tried to speak again and still no words escaped from his lips. He gave it one more try, but there was nothing but air. Marc then closed his mouth and looked down sadly in defeat.
“That’s just what I thought,” sneered Chloé. With a smirk, Chloé turned on her heels and triumphantly started walking out of the art room.
“Banana, Chloé?” Sabrina offered, holding out her bowl of bananas. Chloé simply walks past her without a word and Sabrina starts trailing behind her as both girls leave.
Everyone in the room was silent about what had just transpired. The emotions that everyone felt were mixed or different. Some of them just stood or sat speechless, too in shock to say anything as they were processing all that had just occurred. Others were feeling sorry for the way that Chloé had treated both Zoé and Marc, and regretting that they couldn’t say or do anything in their defense. And the last couple of students, specifically Alix and Nathaniel, were feeling anger towards the type of bullshit that had just taken place. Well, Alix was feeling more annoyed than angry, but Nathaniel was definitely seething.
Chloé was doing it again! Making others feel like crap and trying to take away whatever they have that she wants, Chloé will always be a selfish little bitch! How could Marc ever think that someone like her could ever change into a better person?!
“Marc!” Nathaniel suddenly thought, casting his gaze onto his comic book partner. The poor boy was still looking down in silent defeat from Chloé’s berating, and anxiously fiddling with the strings of his favorite red hoodie. While Nathaniel was once again reminded of his anger towards Chloé for how she treated his friends, especially with the way that she had just humiliated Marc, he decided that now was not the time to stay angry. He was still pissed and wanted to march out the door to catch up to Chloé to give her a piece of his mind, even though he would never really be able to do that in a million years, but Nathaniel knew that there were other people to be concerned about other than Chloé. After all, Marc was going to need him. “Err…and Zoé, of course!” Nathaniel's thoughts corrected himself urgently, “Marc and Zoé! But then again, I think Marinette has already got Zoé covered….”
“Don’t worry, kids,” said André, slowly and nervously walking to the door, “I'll go talk to her. Everything will be fine tomorrow!” André immediately closed the door and bolted after his daughter.
Marinette and Zoé looked at each other, both were uncertain about André's promise but Marinette still tried to put on her best reassuring smile for Zoé. As for Marc, Nathaniel stood up and walked over to his side. He put a comforting and reassuring hand on his friend’s shoulder, bringing the young writer out of his state of distraught. Marc turned to face Nathaniel, who was trying to wear the best smile that he could under the circumstances to help reassure his friend.
“It’s going to be okay, Marc,” said Nathaniel, though there was still a hint of doubt being masked in his words, “Just like you said, it’s already too late for changes. Besides, I doubt that the producer, Mr. Bob Roth, would agree to let Chloé into the film even if she tried to use her threats and intimidation to try to take over Zoé’s role. He knows that we don’t have time for any big changes in the movie like recasting the lead role. There’s nothing that Chloé can do.”
Marc tried his best to smile back at the redhead. Nathaniel’s reasoning may have provided a little bit of comfort for the writer, but the overall feeling of anxiety and dread still lingered. Nathaniel must have picked up that Marc’s smile was somewhat forced as his smile began to falter, and he immediately regretted doing so as his friend’s smile soon followed suit. One thing was certain between the two boys, this didn’t feel like the end of the Chloé situation. As a matter of fact, this felt like only the beginning.

Decided to draw Nathaniel again. This time I added the blush (this is also my first time coloring a blushing character so I'm sorry if the color and/or shading is off). Even though I imagine a more "expressive" reaction, I believe that Nathaniel would have this type of reaction in my fanfics once he realizes that Marc has a crush on him...or if he ever finds out about the picture Alix took of him and Marc (Misdirector Fanfic Reference)

Hey everyone! Happy New Year 2024!!!! So I decided to share some pictures of some original characters that I plan to write in my Miraculous Ladybug fanfiction series (they won't be featured in Misdirector or Icelator, but I have other fanfics in the works that I plan to introduce them in or at the very least they will be mentioned in). I used Create-A-Sim as per usual to make these OCs since I suck at drawing as I have previously stated many times before.
So the backstory on these gals is that all four of them go to the same school my other OC Noelle Odeja and Marc Anciel went to before transferring to Collège Françoise Dupont. These girls are the meanest quartet of popular gals at their school. If the students from Collège Françoise Dupont think that Chloe is the worst, well...let's just say that Chloe is an angel compared to these bitches. Sure, they never worked for a superpowered terrorist voluntarily, but they would regularly take advantage of their school's closemindedness to harass or humiliate any student who was part of the LGBTIQA+ community, and/or anyone who was different/unique in general.
When they were harassing Noelle, the four of them would bully her for not being "feminine" and would call her a "horror freak" due to her obsession with horror genres and everything else weird and supernatural. They would also bully her about her family, but I'm saving those details for an upcoming fanfic (or you can check out her headcanons here if you are that curious:
As for Marc, however, they would team up with the male students and would bully him both physically and verbally. Most of their heinous acts would include insults, cruel pranks, tripping him in the hallway, pushing him down some stairs, and breaking his glasses (yes, I headcanon that Marc used to wear glasses and this is the reason he doesn't wear them anymore), and stealing his journals, reading them out loud in the locker rooms, mocking his writing, and breaking them (hence the reason why the poor boy is so self-conscious about letting people read his writing). There were other forms of bullying that Marc had to endure and one of them was horribly bad enough to make Marc switch schools, however, I'll save them for the fanfictions that I am writing (or maybe I'll include them in a headcanons list for Marc).
Let me know what you guys think about these OCs. If you have any questions relating to their designs, personalities, etc, ask away!

🦋💇🏽 Beautician Akuma Update! 🦋💇🏽
Hi everyone! Hope life has been going well for y'all! It is currently FREEZING where I am and I am so freakin' over the snow already (even though it hasn't been a week), but well that's life. 🥶☃️
Anyway back to the post, I have seen that people are interested in the original akuma idea I posted a few days and I am looking forward to actually writing their story as soon as I finish the other fanfic projects I am currently working on (It might take a while BTW. I'm currently in the process of finishing up a fanfiction about my OC, Noelle Odeja. After that, I plan on getting back into writing my "Icelator" original fanfic and the third chapter of "Misdirector". After I finish those fanfics, I plan on writing another akumatized Marc Anciel fanfiction before I start writing the Beautician Akuma fanfic. All of my fanfictions have a timeline to them in which each fanfic has events that either take place before or after a specific fanfic based on their order). On the plus side, I'm stuck at home for a few days due to the frozen roads and negative temperatures, so we'll see how much I can get done with that extra time!
Also, I kind of sort of forgot to mention something about the beautician akuma that I probably should have clarified in the original post (my bad 😅)
Well....you see.....the akuma's a guy.
Yeah, I know I put mostly female gifs in my last post, but those were the only ones I could find that had the hair and nail powers other than Wolverine. Anyway, the "Akuma to be named later" is a male. Sorry for any confusion there.
Still trying to come up with some names for this akuma (coming up with supervillain names is hard....😩😭) I'm trying to come up with a villainous name that correlates with his powers of hair and nail manipulation and/or occupation and doesn't sound plain and stupid like Simpleman or Mr. Pigeon (not very creative Gabriel Agreste for a famous fashion designer). I do have one idea that I will put a poll for below:
Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. I'm out. 🚪

Hey everyone! So I am a fan of Miraculous Ladybug and lately I have been interested in reading fanfics that feature original akumatized characters, and I have decided to create my own after being inspired by so many amazing Miraculous Ladybug fanfiction writers like #BooksRBetterThanPeople, #ASingleRaindrop, #Username8746489, and #Andromeda612.
This OC is Devin Nolan, who I plan to have akumatized in a fanfiction story that I am writing whose title is the same as the villain's name, Icelator (the name is subject to change if it sounds too stupid). Just a quick disclaimer, I can't draw to save my life so I used Create-A-Sim in my Sims 4 game to design these characters, but this is basically how I imagined how they would look anyway.
I don't have any set dates for when I complete this fanfiction since I am also currently working on another akumatized villain fanfiction titled "Misdirector" (the villain is going to be an original akuma of a canon character. As for who, we'll just wait and see). I am willing to answer questions regarding my fanfics so long as they don't spoil the plot too much.
Anyway, hope you guys like these designs and I highly recommend checking out the aforementioned AO3 writers if you are huge fans of original Akuma and Miraculous Ladybug ship content.
