Do you know what I haven't seen people were talking about regarding the London Special trailer? Worried Gorilla!

Just look at him, how he reacts when Bug Noir talks to Adrien. He might not speak but his actions, gestures and expressions tell volumes about how he loves and cares for Adrien. We don't know how long he's been with the Agrestes, he probably watched Adrien growing up and so he won't quit his job even if his employer is already gone.

A list of Miraculous headcanons a friend and I have collected over time of indecently chattering about Miraculous Ladybug. Despite the fact, we both hate it and haven't seen most of the series.

Nathalie is the daughter of an Italian crime family

She left to work for her friends Gabriel and Emilie but still keeps close contacts with her family(For "Emergencies")

Nathalie has made a few people "disappear" as needed over the years

Both by her own hands and by calling in a favor from one of her brothers or cousins

Gorilla is Russian which is why he never speaks since he barely understands a word of French

Gorilla got into some big trouble as a young man and ended up having to get saved by Nathalie's family which landed him in debt to them and working for the family

Gorilla has known Nathalie since she was a little girl

Gorilla has nicknames for a lot of the other characters

Little Bird - Nathalie, Little Red - Marinette, Candy Cane Fashion Man - Gabriel, Little Cat Boy - Adrien

Nathalie dragged Gorilla with her to Paris when she went to work for the Agrestes, against Gorilla's wishes

Gorilla didn't like the French, calling them "Baggette munching surrender monkeys"

That was until he walked into the Dupain-Cheng bakery and met the most imposing Frenchman he'd ever seen in Tom

Then immediately followed by getting hit in the face with a baker's peel by Sabine who saw a giant silent man rushing at her husband and the register and reacted as so(Gorilla wanted to greet Tom but was too intimidating for his own good)

Marinette has only recently come to Paris and so still speaks very little French

She is adorable and struggling but getting along, especially after befriending Adrien

Adrien is helping Marinette to get better at French since he also speaks Mandarin Chinese and is pretty familiar with being surrounded by other languages he doesn't know

Adrien speaks French, not-perfect Mandarin, and a bit of Italian and Russian

So Adrien has regularly had the experience since of catching only a few words as Nathalie yells at Gorilla in Italian, Gorilla argues back in Russian, Marinette asks a million questions in Mandarin, and Gabriel is loudly bewildered in French

Gorilla respects Marinette since her parents are awesome and she also is a confused foreigner who cannot speak French

They sometimes just nonverbally communicate at each other

Think random finger guns and knowing nods

Gorilla and Nathalie chauffeur Adrien and Marinette on their silliness both as a part of their job and to escape Gabriel

This is less of a headcanon and more of just a shared fact that neither of us trusts Emilie. That bitch is up to something in her casket

Gorilla has given the kids alcohol before since in Russia, they would be able to drink.

"A little part of Russia, come with me~," he says, as he's about to give two teenagers vodka.

Gorilla once got akumatized into a Russian themed villain. But all he did was take over the Agreste mansion, make it look like the St Basil's Cathedral, throw Gabriel into the basement with a note on the door that just says "Makeshift Gulag", and make sure Adrien has a good day.

Ladybug was very hesitant to let Gabriel out of the basement

Especially after Akumatized Gorilla kindly invited Marinette's family over for dinner

It was a very interesting day

Really It's more of an AU at this point but most of them are applicable to canon.

The Gorilla's real name

I genuinely never remember that Adrien's bodyguard has a canonical name and it's Placide???

Why?? Out of ALL THE NAMES, why Placide?

Literally every single fic I've read that's given him a name is Gerald

I may have just gotten attached to the name Gerald for him, but still what were they thinking when they named him? Cause the only thing that makes sense to me is that they thought "let's give him a weird/hard to pronounce name so his nickname could be from Adrien not knowing how to say his name" because that's the only was his name makes sense from a writers perspective

But anyway, his name's Gerald in my rewrite because Placide is stupid for Gorilla (no offense to any Placide's reading this)

New Miraculous headcanon: Gorilla never speaks because this man does not know French.

Gorilla was originally employed by Felix’s father, who is American, and was traded to Gabriel in exchange for a use of the Peacock. It is a reasonable assumption that Gorilla worked for the Fathoms in England, or was transferred from the United States to England before going to France.

Gorilla only knew English when he went to the Agrestes. He’s picked up some French so he can sort of understand people but he mostly goes on vibes.

Adrien comes out as bisexual. Gabriel tries to be homophobic. He is immediately decked by Nathalie and Gorilla. Laadyb silently fistbumps from the window.

Miraculous fanfic idea I wrote down but don’t currently plan to write but I want to share anyway because it might give me inspiration:

Gorilla’s D&D party is his emotional support group while adopting a recently orphaned Adrien.

The original idea started by going off of Gabriel and Nathalie’s fears that they’d die before getting the Miraculous (mid/late season 5), thus leaving Adrien without a caretaker. The fic was going to be Gorilla adopting Adrien and the aftermath of Gabriel/Nathalie’s deaths.

But, that isn’t really the type of fic I normally write so the outline escaped me and I scrapped it for now. A different fic I am equally if not more intrigued by was born from it’s ashes.

The story begins with Adrien getting permission to go to a weekend sleepover (Friday night to Sunday night, very exciting) so Gabriel/Nathalie ask Gorilla to help him get there then Gorilla is free until Adrien needs him. Key things here:

1) Gabriel and Nathalie know they don’t have mich time left at this point.

2) Who Adrien has a sleepover with doesn’t matter but I like the idea of a boys’ night, since we see girls’ nights in the show. In the original version, I also considered this being a celebration for Luka’s return. This will be relevant later.

3) Gorilla canonically likes action figures.

Gorilla drops Adrien off and Gorilla decides to go to a gameshop to buy D&D minis to spend the weekend painting while he’s not working but gets roped into a D&D social event. Here he meets the party.

I was going to have Armand (Chloe’s butler guy) and Fred (Mylene’s dad) there so we have non-OC characters for Gorilla to be friends with that aren’t children/probably sort of close in age. Armand knows Gorilla through work, therefore able to explain his muteness and break the ice a bit, and Fred is a mime so I thought maybe there was something there. I also just feel that including background characters as main characters makes the world feel more full and I like writing them.

I played around with different combinations of the classmates but I think Marc and Nathaniel would make the most sense since a) they probably play D&D and b) they don’t really like hanging out with the others and that’s convenient to writing purposes. I also wanted to stick Alix in there to have a louder personality and also because she’s 100% not supposed to be there. Again, this will be relevant later.

So they do D&D stuff and go home. Logically Gorilla would have more sessions to bond with them in order for later events to make sense but I’m speedrunning this so Gorilla just finds Gabriel and Nathalie and they are not good and they die.

The original version had Gorilla finding friends/comfort in Nino’s mom, Gorilla finding Nooroo, and plot with Alix/Luka being back and knowing things because time travel but we’re throwing that all away so Gorilla can play D&D.

The rest of the story would be told from the perspective of the D&D party members. As a result, a lot of what’s going on with Gorilla and Adrien won’t be seen because the story is being told from an outside point of view. The story would continue as the characters witnessing what’s going down and/or supporting Gorilla/Adrien through the process.

1) Fred could support Gorilla in a parenting capacity, helping him learn the basics in order to care for Adrien.

2) Armand’s perspective, via connections to Chloe and the hotel, would allow us to get a glimpse at the public’s perceptions and what is happening with Gabriel’s company.

3) Nathaniel would be able to show Adrien at school (from a distance of course).

4) Marc, I imagine, is the DM so he could probably either a) provide Gorilla an escape, b) teach important lessons through the game, or c) help him gain speaking confidence through roleplay.

5) Alix is tied into the superhero/villain plot. She is testing out this timeline to see if this is the right result to keep any new villains from popping up. She and Viperion are basically running interfere to keep Chat Noir and Ladybug from messing things up.

Also maybe Felix is there trying to get them/the Peacock.

I mostly just want Gorilla go play D&D though. He’s a kenku cleric because I sense Marc knows exactly what to do with this character.

I might write this? Most of the longfics I write come very naturally so if I rewrite the outline a bunch then it doesn’t turn out great. Plus, I’ve got other fics in the works. I am really into this idea though so if you think I should write it, let me know and maybe I’ll get inspired.
