'The Old Man Of Minnigaff' 7th or 8th Century CE Symbol Stone, Newton Stewart Museum, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland
A first visit for me.
The combination of figures suggest these are Matthew (Man) and John (Eagle). As they have no halo, book or wings they likely represent a very early form. The man is similar to those found on a stone at Mooney, Ireland and the Matthew figure in the Book of Durrow.
The stone was discovered being used as a lintel in the Market House when it was being demolished. It would suggest the presence of an early Irish Monastery, at or near, the Monigaff Church site.

not chuffed with my placement. i thought it would be a nursing home, but still.
maybe i'll get the hospital next time, that would be nice.
so i don't need to pay two month's rent for my flat when it'll be easier and quicker for me to travel from home; which is what i'll maybe have to do this time.
ugh
