#Minimus Ambus

Making a Transformers Gladiator AU. Here's Minimus, Ultra Mags and Megatron(us)

Realized while I was drawing Ultra Magnus that his helmet looks like an ancient Roman soldier's helmet and it had a domino effect on me.

Idk it's not time period accurate, if anything it's a bit like Hades. Megs enters the arena at Tarn with the sole purpose of avenging Terminus and all her village who got pillaged and burnt by killing the Primes and Senate. She wins her first match and catches the God of Destruction's (Unicron's) eye, who offers her boons and powers, which she foolishly and desperately accepts.

As she continues to win more and more matches and win the public's heart with her speeches, Sentinel gifts her Minimus as an "advisor" but really he's a spy that was tasked to lead her astray so that she dies in one of her matches, especially against the reigning champion and soldier: Ultra Magnus (who is Minimus in all body armor and mask.)

Notes:

-Minimus is intersex, as was Dominus. He binds himself to avoid getting killed. He identifies mostly as a woman.

-The Ambus family can talk to foxes, as one of the legends dictate that they were born from a fox Goddess.

-Dominus, who was a philosopher, was killed for trying to speak up against the Senate's corruption and oppression. Tyrest took a young Minimus and groomed him into becoming Ultra Magnus by blackmailing him.

-Impactor, who is Megan's brother, was one of the only people who survived the raid on the village. He is made to fight against Megs (they don't recognize each other) and when he loses with her blade in his guts, he recognizes her, and gives her a vital piece of intel that can bring the corrupt Primes and Senate down inside a pendant he tells her to take to a certain archivist called Orion Pax locked in an endless library in Iacon City.

- In her rage, she kills Sentinel. Tyrest tries to take her down, but is killed by Ultra Magnus (Minimus).

- They run away together to the forest. Heading towards Iacon City.

As a fellow enjoyed of fanfic, are there any fics you came across where the pairing was so wild or unexpected it made you click just out of morbid curiosity only to find that it's actually a really good read? For me it was a Swerve/Optimus one that I'm 99% sure has since been deleted.

Got hooked by my old fandom again. A study of D-16 from Transformers One and some rough sketches of Minimegs.

I did some little edits with the sound I was inspired by as well. I'll put it down below.

aHhh okay so the discussions of Titan!Megatron on @callsign-relic's blog have fully. FULLY taken over my brain and ive been drawing stuff for it for like the last few days nonstop

the tl;dr of this is AU is pretty much "what if Megatron got turned into a titan/cityformer as a form of penance/imprisonment and now roams the empty wasteland of Cybertron forever" plus "IDW Megatron has really fucked up internals so... what if that, but as a City?"

and of course since he's a Titan, that also means he has a cityspeaker... or three. One per sub-AU thing. Theres 3 options. 3 flavours of AU.

Hi. My battery is running out once again so design and art notes get chucked here instead of an image.

The cuffs and collar are hardwired into Megatron, so I made the lights the same colour as his biolights!

I imagine that on the tops of his shoulders there are solar panels, even if you can't see them here lol.

I really wanted to keep the swirly bits on Megatron's chest from IDW

Other art notes:

The second picture with the seekers is (loosely) inspired by a discussion about whether or not Megatron gets visitors or not. I thought about who would visit him and well... I think this is as close as Starscream realistically gets to visiting him.

Extra detail about that piece is that Thundercracker and Skywarp are keeping watch from above! Also drawing Megatron took me like 8 hours because I was struggling with his legs really badly kshffkbfkdsbdk,, the background went much faster, funnily enough.

Optimus specifically isn't wearing his Autobot badge any more.

This isn't relevant in this series of images, but Ultra Magnus's eye markings are only on the Magnus armour. His other two forms do not have them :] (... until he begins to discard the armour, that is.)

Megatron is roughly 3200m/2 miles tall. Technically he could have clouds around his knees, but I thought this looked a little bit cooler lol.

Also, height chart! Him big. I didn't even attempt to put a human for scale because that'd be. near impossible with this scale.

My cards! Color tinted, in-game, and also the base version without the tint.

The theme for each is: Hearts = medics, Clubs = Ops/intelligence, Diamonds = Justice/law, Spades = science. The suits are mostly arbitrary, I assigned the sets to suits after I picked the characters for each set.
