Honestly, this talk about the Minecraft trailer just made me want to talk about a show that has taken over my brain atm. I just...needed to get it off my chest, ngl. Especially if you want to spend your time wisely instead of watching the Minecraft movie whenever it comes out. Like, it doesn't even HAVE to be this, you can literally just watch anything else Minecraft related that's actually good. But to recommend something that I've mentioned before (and is the only Minecraft-related thing I've dabbled in recently):
Animation VS Minecraft. It's genuinely good and made with love for the series in mind, with the first two seasons being mostly fun explorations of how Minecraft works. Although Season 1 jumps off from the first original video and does have certain elements that become very relevant in Season 3 as it's more heavily story-focused, while Season 2 remains as episodic that's just entertaining with it's crazy scenarios (but still good if you want more content in this series). Season 3 is fantastic, I love how the cast interacts with one another as they try to tackle the problems they've stumbled upon, the fight scenes can be quite chaotic but not unreadable and instead gives it more re-playability since you can find new little details in the fights by paying attention to a different character, and you can understand a lot of what is happening through the characters body language alone as there's little to no dialogue, period. (The same of which applies to Animator VS Animation.) Which is amazing. I won't say that it's perfect, I personally believe no series is even when they're amazing and something I love to bits, and I do think there are two characters that should've have more on-screen interactions to really sell their character arcs more. But with what we got, I was very satisfied with how it ended and their stories genuinely made my heart hurt (which isn't very hard since I can get attached to characters and the story easily but that's besides the point). Season 4 takes place directly after Season 3 and explores a certain consequence from the last season that I won't spoil, and it's just really funny and episodic (so far) while also being more light-hearted in comparison to the last season. And frankly, I think the cast deserved a lighter adventure after everything they've been put through last season so good for them.
I love this series. And I think it's just...really sad that this movie isn't giving the same respect to the game and it's fans.
Minecraft isn't that huge of an interest of mine, i kinda just binge watch a bunch of content of ut randomly, same way i do with cooking videos from time to time, so I can't say i will check it out but If I'm doing nothing someday i may give it a watch so thanks for the recommendation!
Tho i got a little confused on what it is exactly? Like you say seasons so i assume is a show but you also used the words "unreadable" and "replayability" through the text so i was like,, is ut a show? A game? A fic?
Either way, it does sound neat fron what you told me of it 👍

Update on the status of The Fenrathae Saga! And Other Stuffses!
TL;DR: I'm putting The Fenrathae Saga on mostly-hiatus due to burnout relating to it, and am gonna start working full-blast on another project of mine that involves my former RWBY OCs. I'm also gonna make a poll to see if anyone within my tiny but sweet following wants to watch me fail miserably at playing survival mode in Minecraft with cheats and certain gamerules enabled!
To read the whole thing, click on the "Keep reading" thingy below!
Sooooooo, I've realized that I'm very burned out with writing for The Fenrathae Saga. As in, I've been finding significantly more enjoyment in writing in my other projects and playing Minecraft than working on anything relating to The Fenrathae Saga and Volume 1, lately. I've also been thinking about my other projects much more often than The Fenrathae Saga, itself.
So I've decided to put The Fenrathae Saga on the back burner for the time being, aka, put it on a mostly-hiatus! For the most part, I won't be working on it as often as I have for the past 2 years, but I'll probably still chip away at the comic script every now and then. So no, the webcomic is not cancelled at all! This just means that the webcomic will come out a lot later than I anticipated.
The reason I'm doing this is because I know that if I force myself to work on something that I don't want to work on at the moment, then that something won't be done very well. I don't want The Fenrathae Saga to not be done to the best of my abilities, and I especially don't want that for the webcomic. Plus, I've been working on this iteration of The Fenrathae Saga nonstop since March of 2021. I've discovered that my way of working is to work on something full-blast for a few years, then pick up something else that I'd like to work on, set the first thing on the back burner, and then work on that something else full-blast for a few years. I definitely don't plan on abandoning The Fenrathae Saga anytime soon, another project that I've been working on on-and-off has just caught the rest of my attention when I really needed to switch passion projects for a while.
And that something else involves my former RWBY OCs! Yes, former RWBY OCs. Back when I was still really into RWBY, I developed some fan characters for a bit. I never really wrote down the story, but by the time I thought to write it down, the trailer for RWBY Volume 7 had come out, and just watching it made me realize that I'd gotten wayyyyy too emotionally invested in it to continue watching it. And then that one Twitter/X teaser where Team RWBY and Them were suddenly wanted by the government for canonical reasons really turned me off. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty good show! Maybe not the best of shows, but it's still decent! Buuuuuuut, I just decided from that point on that I would not watch RWBY anymore and not follow any of the RWBY Official social media accounts, for my own mental health.
So after that, I decided to take my RWBY OCs and make them actual original characters and make their story and actually original story. And that's what brings us to today, where I've decided to work on their story and worldbuilding full-blast! So far, I have a good portion of the lore worked out, and most of the basics of the magic system (where there's actual magic and lots of magically-inclined mortal races of people). The story itself is still a major WIP, and I'm not sure what I'll do with the story once I feels it's ready to be shared.
OH! Also, I'm considering recording videos of me playing Java Edition Minecraft, either in survival mode with cheats and Keep Inventory enabled and no Wardens/Phantoms/Pillager Raid Parties spawning and Mob Griefing disabled, or in creative mode with all of those gamerules inplaces and cheats enabled. I know, I know, that's "not what real gamers do!" But I'm a very casual gamer, and I think the world needs more casual Minecraft YouTubers. Plus, I'm not gonna be playing to fulfill every last whim of every last potential subscriber, I'm gonna be playing Minecraft to make myself happy and to show the world how I play Minecraft. Those gamerules and cheats exist for a good reason, and that's to make the game more accessible for casual players who don't like dealing with certain annoying/scary aspects of the game! If you don't like the fact that I'm playing the game with those gamerules enabled and/or disabled, then... don't play in your Minecraft singleplayer worlds like that?? I don't know what else to tell those who don't like games being accessible to anyone who doesn't want to play games in constant fear of dying and losing all your stuff.
But since this post is so long already, I'm gonna make a separate poll to gauge interest within my small but sweet following about watching my hypothetical Minecraft videos! They'd all be uploaded to my second YouTube channel, which is @/EsorOgramiraMisc on YouTube!

The thing that... Frustrates me... About the attitude in the screenshotted tweet - "It's ok if a children's film is of low quality, it's for children" is... Try and apply that attitude to literally anything else.
"It's ok if the toy is poorly manufactured, it's for kids to play with rather than adult collectors." - While a children's toy probably needs to be cheaper than some plastic tat for a desk, it needs to be well manufactured in order to withstand robust play. "It's ok if the clothes are poorly manufactured, they're for children rather than adults." - While children's clothing is going to get grown out of, it needs to be rugged enough to not easily tear or wear. "It's ok if the food is poorly cooked, it's a child's meal." - This makes zero sense, of course a child's meal needs to be well prepared to not make a child ill. Even if it's Like, there are absolutely some things that sometimes occur in children's media that appeal to children and put off adults - jokes that land better when you're 7 than 37, protagonist identities that tend to work better for children than for adults (such as talking animals or other children if the target demographic is young enough), or ways in which children's media probably should be pulling its punches when talking about - for example - death (glances at their own PfP, remembers the infant fieldmice ...Or perhaps not) in a way that wouldn't be done with media aimed at adult audiences. but that's not what's going on with this Minecraft film based on the trailer.
What's going on with this Minecraft film based on the trailer just looks low quality which some people are apparently justifying with "But it's for kids! It doesn't have to be good!". Fuck. That. Noise. I want more care and attention to be put into children's media than adult media, because I have better developed critical faculties and as such I am better positioned to deal with having received low quality media. It's for children, not for adults? Then we should be demanding higher quality from it, even while acknowledging that it's probably going to be simpler than what something aimed at adults would be, not accepting lower.

I swear, this type of mentality is how we ended up with those shitty YouTube content farms 'FoR kIdS'.

Adventures in Autoplay
YouTube is an interesting place. More to the point, it’s a massive place, filled with people of just about every possible description.
That is to say that I, on a regular basis, really only interact with a miniscule fragment of what’s out there, because A. There’s just too much of it to interact with all of it, and B. I just... don’t.
The way I’m envisioning it is like a massive ocean, and most of us spend our time around small islands. I usually do, at least.
Sometimes, but not always.
I find it an interesting exercise to just drift with the current, and let autoplay take me wherever the hell it likes.
So, how has it gone?
Round 1: I believe I started on a video featuring Hank Green making drinks with someone. From there, I went into other videos with the same premise (same channel, different people making drinks with them). Then, I ended up on the channel of one of the guests. And then... I was on that channel for hours, and, in fact, autoplay didn’t take me away before I finished.
Round 2: The earliest part of this that I remember was a song from TAZ balance (Violet Wurm, or something similar). Then, and this is the one that really interests me, because I remember the exact chain, it went: More TAZ, TAZ balance trailer with Steven Universe, SU video to a P!atD song, multifandom video for Victorious, MLP Video for Victorious, and then I was in MLP hell for the next several hours.
No, seriously, it started off with music videos, then went into fansongs, and then I was basically just listening to The Living Tombstone (Currently best known for remixes) mixed with MLP fansongs for the next several hours (I didn’t know he had an early bunch of fansongs, but apparently.)
The uniting detail between them is you may slide through a few genres, but once you hit one with a strong enough pull, you basically just can’t leave without manual intervention. To use that ocean analogy, you follow the current until you hit a whirlpool, and then you’re just... in the whirlpool.
Now, those are the two rounds that I really remember the details of, which ended up in places that I usually would never have thought to go. However, I still occasionally do this, and the results have borne out, the whirlpool theory.
Common end-points:
Electro-swing: turns out, there’s a lot of electro-swing in the world, and if I get anywhere near it, it will pull me in and never let me go.
The Score: A band with a very specific vibe, which is mostly along the lines of ‘ ‘I’m unbreakable, let the world come, I’ll take it all on.’ This band has quite a few songs, and most of those songs come with multiple videos including: Album, lyrics, music video, fancy background. That in mind, that in mind, they have the material to lock me in for hours. Notably, there’s some overlap with Imagine Dragons (Which I’d assume to be fanbase overlap, since a lot of fans are like ‘wow, I’d love to see them collaborate.’) specifically ‘Natural,’ and similarly, I occasionally escape into Fallout Boy.
Fallout Boy: Speaking of which, Fallout Boy has locked me down for long stretches of time. They’re a lot like The Score in that regard, but more popular. Mona Lisa seems to be more popular than expected, but that might just be warped perception.
The Kobe Steak Loop: This one isn’t a band, so much as it is a tiny set of songs that somehow still have the power to hold the autoplay’s attention for quite some time. These songs include: Kobe Steak (which has way too many videos), Ten Feet (Daxten Remix), Just Like a Goldrush, and Six Shooter. This loop is interesting because, although they’re tightly grouped (at least according to my autoplay) none of them seem to be in quite the same genre, nor do any of them appear to be by the same artist. I’m singling out Kobe Steak here because one time, I got it, I believe 3 times in 4 songs. Fun Fact: While I was writing this, I pulled up Kobe Steak, and sure enough: Kobe Steak, Ten Feet, Ten Feet, Kobe Steak, Kobe Steak (nightcore). It feels like the SPAM sketch from Monty Python, honestly..
Now, having written it down, it technically qualifies as science, but, like, if this sounds interesting, please, try it, and then tell me how it ends up for you.
(If you do, a word of warning: Pausing for too long seems to reset the autoplay’s flow, and it will recycle songs. This is an especially useful warning because the other thing you’ll need is significant amounts of time; for me, I was playing Minecraft for hours on the one that ended in MLP.)

Another E3 2019 post no one will care about but I gotta make
-I’ve never been much of a Final Fantasy fan even though I’ve played a few of them. But this game play they’re showing for the remake of Seven is fucking awesome. If they had kept it turn based I don’t think I would have even considered the game tbh but I’m kind of getting Kingdom Hearts vibes and I really love Kingdom Hearts. I’m actually super excited for this game!
-I’ve never been a fan of the Life Is Strange games either and honestly I don’t see myself changing my mind any time soon. I like choice based games but this one hasn’t shown me anything that’s really caught my attention. I’ve seen gameplay of Life Is Strange 2 since it’s been out for a while now but it just hasn’t really interested me.
-Honestly, I’ve never heard of The Last Remnant but seeing the trailer of the remaster wasn’t that impressive. It still looks pretty dated.
-While I like Dragon Ball Z and it is a part of my childhood, and I really like Minecraft, I’m not very interested in a Minecraft/DBZ crossover. Sorry Dragon Quest Builders 2!
-Dragon Quest 11. There was more to this title but holy shit it was so long. There are 11 of these games and I’ve never heard of them. The art style is DBZ also which is cool but I don’t think it’s my style.
-Circuit Superstars looks so cool! I love racing games even though I’m not really a competitive person. It looks like I’d have a lot of fun with friends playing this game!
-Battalion 19/44 Eastern Front looks pretty cool! I’m not good at shooters but I still really enjoy them, especially with the right people!
-I’ve never played the first Dying Light but the trailer for the second one looked so cool! I’m a huge fan of Mirror’s Edge and it’s looked like exactly that! So awesome!
-That SaGa game? All I gotta say is “meh”.
-They showed another Final Fantasy game and like I said, I’m not that big of a Final Fantasy fan and I’m even less of a fan of mobile games so this one is a hard no. It just doesn’t look good...
-Even though the footage they showed for Outriders isn’t actual gameplay footage I’m still hyped for it! It looks so badass! The weapons, the monsters, the environment and just... everything I saw was incredible!
-Only one thing came to mind while watching the trailer for Oninaki and that’s ‘SNOOOOOORE’! lmfao
-They just announced a remaster for Final Fantasy 8 pffffff. It didn’t look remastered at all!
- AND FINALLY THE ONE I’VE BEEN SO EXCITED FOR!!! AVENGERS!!! HOLY SHIT IT LOOKS INCREDIBLE!!!!! I wish they had actually shown the Hulk transformation instead of doing a cut but it still looked amazing! I NEED a gameplay trailer right now!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! My one problem with it so far is...WHERE IS HAWKEYE?!?!?!! (The crowd immediately called them out for no Hawkeye lmfaoooo) Also it’s multiplayer so that’s a huge plus for me!

Oh yes, a minecraft movie trailer popped up… That explains a lot lol
Okay, people have already beaten this sheep, but why isn't anyone talking about this llama? She fucking scares me…
By the way, why isn't Steve fucking square? I understand a lot, but something doesn't add up (And by the way, wasn't Steve darker skinned? He just looked tanner to me…)
And by the way, it irritates me that they made the Pygmies antagonists, firstly, from outside their world, they turn into zombies, secondly, they are aggressive in some conditions, yes, it irritates me… I'm afraid when they show Enderman (My favorite mob from the game), probably like in the commercials, antagonizing him… Enderman is only aggressive when you look him in the eye, or you attack him, otherwise he's a peaceful mob (And quite cute…)
----------------------------------------------------------
I'm just getting tired of the Enderman being shown as a threat in games, while the Creeper (The most annoying mob, which ruined my fun many times) is shown as benign… No, it's not, the damn thing will follow you around, until you run away and you fucking explode, and it doesn't help that that shit runs very quietly (Only when it walks on the ground or sand it can be heard), yes, I don't like the creeper, I know, it's shocking, but he's annoying, I prefer skeletons and little zombies, and that says a lot…
And is it just me that's pissed that Iron Knuckle attacks the Enderman when he's not even a threat to the villagers, but leaves a Creeper that could fucking explode and kill them? Seriously, this pisses me off so much… He attacks all the other mobs, but he'll leave the fucking Creeper behind

My scores for E3, because apparently now i’m a dumb 4channer who thinks this /v/ meme shit matters, like it’s not gonna affect sales or anything it’s pointless as all hell [this is lenghy, but hear me out ok]
EA:
4/10 - people will probably play the games regardless of how shitty this presentation was but... It felt pretty insulting.
Battlefield V is probably gonna make a lot of money regardless cuz people like war games and it seems pretty well done, the more footage they have shown seemed better than their weird advertizement that made world war 2 seem very wacky, which honestly regardless if you’re a sexist neckbeard or not, seemed like a poor advertizement move.
TinyBuild:
No one watched this lol and it was just 1 GAME and a fun cute musical that made people who aren’t strong enough to musicals die, 6/10 because it made nerds die and their song is catchy, i dont really care about their 1 game.
Microsoft:
9/10 - I'm giving this much of a high score because I would play practically almost all of these games showcased (they’ll probably be available on PC which I’m biased for cuz I have a gaming PC), no kidding, I pretty much liked everything I saw and it was fairly straight to the point. Many gamers don’t appreciate the finer details of each game and think they’re generic but that’s just fanboys who haven’t played a single game outside of their favorites.
Also my cousin uses those Xbox One netflix rip offs that gives you games so i’m happy for him. The presentation had a lot of diamonds in the rough games that will I will probably appreciate more over time (they might even become cult classics like Metro or Dying Light) than any of other games at other e3s. As for the stuff I won’t be playing: It’s mostly harmless so eh.
There was an abundance of trailers! It was like one after the other, pure goodness, it seems as if they left out all of the Sports games to EA to present and the only thing they showed that might not be anyone’s cup of tea was “Forza”, but honestly? I appreciate it, it seems like a good racing game even if I’m not one to buy racing games.... But the more you think about the number of good games presented, the less you’ll think about that, I mean they showed DEVIL MAY CRY 5!!!
...The Funko Pop game made me scream though.
Bethesda:
8.5/10 I cannot deny that these are games I will want to play regardless if they’re good or not. Sad to see nerds not enjoy the opportunity to meet ANDREW W.K. but I’m glad all of the divisions they own are making sequels to stuff I already like, so pretty much Bethesda played it safe.
Devolver Digital:
8/10 It’s like that one b-movie film your college students made and you had a laugh with creating.
Square Enix:
5/10 seriously, 30 minues of just trailers? Most of which we saw?? I guess it could be worse but who uses E3 screentime for mostly MMORPG deals! The new stuff was too vague to be excited about too.
Ubisoft:
7/10 - I liked it when they made funny quirky things and their games are probably gonna be okay like usual, Ubisoft has dedicated fans that like their collectathon games they release every year, and it’s usually that one game you play when you’re bored and got nothing else, it’s okay.
Gamers hate fun and dancing and all that stuff but I kind of find stuff like that exciting, while nerds who never went outside and who are sensitive as all hell to any representation of fun find it “cringey”. A panda dabbed, and that settles it, Ubisoft was the only E3 Brave enough to dab this year.
PC Game Conference (it was fairly long):
I know none of you watch this one cuz y’all fake as hell but listen... Fuck you LOL, these are the type of games people actually play over 400 hours and really get people’s money. Like these are games built to last that might be on the best-selling Steam front page for MONTHS, like how Frostpunk was comfirmed last year during this conference, PC Gaming has been known for sleeper hits that nobody knows about (because the attention goes to cinematic experiences on consoles most of the time) but suddently everyone’s playing it.
PC gaming has always been an alternative lifestyle and seeing as many people didn’t watch this one, that just proves the point that it still relatively alternative. Maybe it’s because everyone sounds dumb as fuck when saying “PC GAMER MASTER RACE” and acting like an elitist.
The PC Gaming conference is always more of a talk show than a regular E3 which is why I respect it every year, fuck the hyperactive gamers that just wanna see flashy trailers, this one’s more SOPHISTICATED!! It feels a lot more human and less artificial. Either way, lot’s of what you might’ve expected: Simulators and Survival games you’ll probably spend 3 years playing until they make a better minecraft clone.
Gamers like to act as if they’re tired of Battle Royale (already? It’s a new fad it still is here to stay for a little more) but the numbers and success of it doesn’t lie that it isn’t a fad that proves itself to be highly tempting to try out for developers. Go cry to valve that they didn’t release Half-Life 3 cuz you haven’t played any other FPS game without even researching that Valve pretty much fired all of it’s developers and you’re just being annoying.
I feel as if I need to comment what I saw at this e3 cuz nobody watched, they made a mod I liked from skyrim into a fully-ass game, they’re rebooting Star Control which not a single gamer today knows of, the HP Lovecraft open world detective game also seems very good. YAKUZA IS COMING TO PC!!!!!!!!! Killing Floor 2 stuff, Road Redemption stuff, SHARK RPG, cute indie games, Jeff Goldblum was there, Wall-E with a gun in VR which seems to have promissing good vr design by Insomiac games (yes the spyro people), 2 games about Taxi driving... Like sure I think it’s a good format for story telling but.
A cell-shaded art game, star citizen is still being made, and it’s gone to the point nobody really wants it anymore even if it’s... Still being made you know? So most guys are wrong that it was gonna be canceled. After that was the technical graphic card stuff which gamers don’t have enough capability to understand, stuff like 9k laptops that SELL a lot mind you. Rich people love that technical stuff.
A space defense sim game, Don’t Starve Sequel, Just Cause 4 detailed explanation of the engine, Overkill’s The Walking Dead gameplay which has been in development hell for years now now has a release date, I discovered Clementine’s voice actor is white... Go figure, a literal pixelated roguelike (not what you think it is, it’s Noita),
Theme Hospital REBOOT!!!! YES!!!!!!!!! And the doctors were cute. Probably one of the funniest games presented... Followed by REALM ROYALE HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That harvest moon clone with a cute art style is still being made: Ooblets, no release date sadly. Anno is still going, cyanide and happiness still exists? and they’re making a battle royale? lol okay. How was Hitman 2 not announced during Square Enix?? Anyways it’s here at the end, the trailer was amazing and it’s coming out this year.
I don’t have that much strong feelings because it’s just a normal conference and not a special one you know? But I’ll give it a 8/10 or 7/10 im not sure cuz I seem to like most games and I found Frankie cute.
Sony:
Yo usually Sony makes like a huuuuuuuge thing about their conferences (like this year they didn’t even showcase indie games) but this year they started from a church for the sake of immersion?? It reminded me a little of their first E3s during the 90s, and it almost felt like a indie gathering for musicians, I swear to god, Sony is borderline experimental trying to balance out their E3 across stages. Jeb played the banjo and people just ACCEPTED it... AND THEN someone played some JAPANESE FLUTE? aRT. It might come off as a bit arrogant for some tho.
Nerds hated it and thought it was bizzare, which is why it means it’s good. HAPPY PRIDE MONTH BITCHES. Anyways could have been a little more fast-paced... But then again when it was fast-paced it was just like: Huh? What was that? I’m a big Resident Evil Fangirl, RE2 was my childhood but ignoring that for a sec: finally, Death Stranding gameplay, remins me of shadow of the colossus but post-apocalpytic, survival horrorish and abstract sci-fi.
Kind of feels more Metal Gear than MGSV did already Cuz Norman Reedus sounds like snake a lot more than the 24 hours guy, and because from what I’ve seen in the footage, someone acts like Otacon to “Sam”. I think most now can figure out the plotpoints of this game with what has been established. I might be a bit sad at the fact that this will be a PS4 exclusive just like Metal Gear Solid 4, which I still haven’t played fully because it’s PS3 exclusive and I only have a gaming PC.
Also this E3 was surprisingly entirely SINGLE PLAYER, I sorta don’t believe in the “single player doesn’t exist” myth honestly, especially now. I’m not sure if that makes Sony’s E3 better or worse, maybe it needed more variation, like I’ve commented, usually they have an indie showcase which this year did not. There were few games shown but for what it was worth, it’s still interesting... But yeah just 5 games? No Spyro? (easy picking), nothing extra? I can understand why many people felt this E3 was upsetting.
8/10.
Nintendo
Here it is, the most overhyped developer of all of E3, the source of “Nintendo wins E3 by doing nothing” memes because Nintendo fans really don’t care about anything except Nintendo and then act surprised when they only care about Nintendo when they try to be a little more open-minded (and fail) even if other E3s probably make more games built to last in comparisson, cuz we gay people only care about NINTENDO YOU KNOW? Shade asside...
I was pleasantly surprised this E3, it wasn’t just a series of okay at best releases, a strong 9/10.
tHAT WAS WHAT I WROTE IN PREPRATION....
BUT THEN???? IT WAS JUST THAT??? NO PRIME 4 NO ANYTHING LIKE JUST 3 GAMES BASICALLY? (maybe there was 5 games but eh) I mean smash is good.. It’s pretty much just an update of the last smash, every character is REALLY FUCKING GOOD BUT.... JUST THAT? jeez.. Like, the only stuff I wanted from it was Mario Party and Smash... Okay maybe that 1 Mecha game. Also I guess fornite is now on Switch but I can play that anywhere else really.
I guess a 7/10 is all I can give to just Smash, if there was a little more I’d give it a 9/10 for sure but... ehh Just Smash? jeez, fuck... i MEAN I kind of get it, Nintendo doesn’t do “e3″ normally, they usually do 1 big game at E3 and then wait a couple of months to do that little seasonal announcement thing they do across the year, ugh.. Okay. Yeah I guess i shouldn’t have expected much. Still isn’t it weird that Miyamoto was in Ubisoft’s E3 but not this one??? what!
Anyways

Alan Becker
As part of my University work I am required to research into current industry profesionals and evaluate my future goals for future prospects. As part of this brief I chose to look into Alan Becker, A YouTube animator who creates simple and effective animations online.
Alan Becker is a well-known American web animator on YouTube born on the 18th May 1989 who makes a lot of stick figure animations on his YouTube and Newgrounds page. His animations consist of no dialogue unless you enable YouTube subtitles and are simply consistent of emotions and personality through body movement in his rather simplistic but well thought out web animations. He is well known for his web animations such as Animator Vs Animator being his first hit animation on YouTube made back in May 14th 2007 and racking up to 39 Million Views; and his spin off series such as Animation Vs Minecraft (December 14th 2015), Animation Vs YouTube (August 3rd 2017), Animation Vs League of Legends (December 20th 2018) and Animation Vs Pokémon (July 6th 2019). Although a lot of his animations are in a simplistic 2D stick figure style, Alan is incredibly talented at his storytelling capabilities and special effects to give his otherwise simple work more depth and impact; and manages to make his animations in Adobe Animate even to this day.
Because his animations do not consist of any dialogue without turning on YouTube subtitles all his storytelling is done through purely actions; which helps to drive his animations plot much better to maintain his audience’s attention and removes exposition throughout the animations he creates. Alan also has a second channel called “AlanBeckerTutorials” where he goes through all the 12 principles of animation made in May 30th 2017 being a compilation of all his animation principle tutorials made to be a very quick and easy to understand video which helps to breakdown everything you need to know, he also in recent times 29th November 2019 created a new paid class for stick figure animation where he talks about his full in depth analysis of his entire animation process from start to finish, during his trailer for this new paid online course he mentions what it means to be an animator on YouTube and that storytelling is to be the above all importance to being an animator and not the overall animation quality; being quoted for saying “If you want to become an animator on YouTube, focus on your storytelling not your animation quality. Improving your animation quality is always great, but what engages people is the story that you are telling” and mentions the cycle of an animator having a constant delay of gratification with a big end reward “Being an animator is a constant cycle of delayed gratification. Where you work hard for a long time, until you see a big reward at the end” which shows how he doesn’t rely on lots of flashy animation to create effective stories and gets straight to what is important.
Alan Becker is a great example of effective storytelling and simple animation, his work is always easy to understand especially with his tutorials being very straight forward making it easy to learn from him and having many years of experience which can be seen in all his recent work as its been transitioning to having much more detail to his animation quality without changing his overall art style in his work.

Eight to Consider: Games of E3 2016

This year’s E3 has come and gone. After sifting through hours and hours of content, I’ve decided to talk about some of the games that caught my eye. Of course, I didn’t actually attend E3, so I haven’t played any of these titles. All of my opinions are based solely on gameplay videos, trailers, and whatever other media I could find around the internet.
There was actually a lot of interesting stuff shown off this year and I had a tough time narrowing this list down to just eight games. We had Sony show off a trifecta of fantastic looking third-person action games (Horizon: Zero Dawn, God of War, and Days Gone), Microsoft continued to showcase unique indie titles like Cuphead and Inside, and even EA (whose conference was the worst of the bunch) got my attention with a little game called Fe. There was a lot to take in during those five days, but I think I’m ready to show you just what tickled my fancy this year. So here are eight games of E3 2016 for your consideration.

Resident Evil 7
Resident Evil 7 makes this list simply on name alone. I wasn’t terribly impressed with the announcement or the demo that Capcom made available following that announcement. I will say that while there were rumors that RE7 would make an appearance, I was still a little shocked when I saw the logo flash on the screen following a trailer that looked nothing like Resident Evil. I’ve read that what was shown and what was in the demo aren’t going to be in the final game, so I hold out hope that when Resident Evil 7 releases, it will have the feel of previous iterations even if they do change things up.

Battle Chasers Nightwar
Before E3, I knew absolutely nothing about Battle Chasers, let alone that there would be a game releasing based on the popular comic from the late 90’s. It was pretty much love at first sight and I knew immediately that I needed to know more about Battle Chasers. It turns out that Joe Madureira (who has worked on The Uncanny X-Men comic book series and the video game Darksiders) is the creator, so it should have been no surprise as to why the art direction was gorgeous. Nightwar is described as an “RPG inspired by the classic console greats, featuring deep dungeon diving, turn-based combat presented in a classic JRPG format, and a rich story driven by exploration of the world.” Sign me up!

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
Following the debacle that was Mighty No. 9, I’m a little hesitant to get excited about Kickstarter games made by famous designers that are looking to reinvent older series. Okay, that’s a pretty specific group, but Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night definitely falls into that category. Being designed by former Castlevania producer, Koji Igarashi, Bloodstained is looking to fill the void left by Konami’s Castlevania series. While I may be hesitant to get too excited, the gameplay demo shown off at E3 did impress. Still in the alpha phase, it was beautiful and appeared to be right on point with games like Symphony of the Night. Of course, this is me judging as someone else played it, but I will say that I’m looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.

ReCore
I’ve pretty much made my decision on where I’ll be playing my games this generation and I’m all-in on the PlayStation 4. This isn’t because I have some undying loyalty for Sony (I played almost entirely on Xbox 360 last generation), but because there are just so many games to play on the systems I already own that I can’t justify the purchase of another. ReCore is making me question that decision though. I’m not sure what it is about ReCore that excites me (probably the robot dog) because in some ways it does come off as a bit generic, but every time I see this game I want it more and more. The combat and platforming, along with needing to rip the cores from your enemies and the combo system all just seem so satisfying. After seeing it at E3 this year, I nearly went out bought an Xbox One just so I could play it this September and it may still get me to make that purchase yet.

We Happy Few
Yet another Xbox One console exclusive, We Happy Few hit all the right notes for me when it was shown off this year at E3. The fact that it appears as if it is going to explore the human psyche and the affects that drugs have on it is something I’m interested in. How deep that actually goes remains to be seen, but as someone who is fascinated by human psychology, I can’t wait to see where the story leads. I’m still holding out hope that We Happy Few will eventually make its way to the PlayStation 4, if not, it’s looking like another great reason to buy an Xbox One.
NECROPOLIS
If you’ve been keeping up with GAJ for the past couple of weeks then you’ve probably seen a couple of stories about Necropolis. It’s a “rogue-lite” dungeon crawler with Dark Souls style combat and it’s looking pretty sweet. I imagine I’m going to be pulling my hair out with frustration once it releases this summer and I can’t wait.

Dragon Quest Builders
I’ve always loved the idea of Minecraft, but I guess I just don’t have the imagination to make it a worthwhile experience. I need objectives and goals to actually feel like I’m accomplishing something and that’s where Dragon Quest Builders is changing the Minecraft formula up a bit. Instead of just aimlessly wandering around the world, Dragon Quest Builders is going to be a full-fledged RPG experience where you’ll have to build towns and help folks with their various problems. On top of that, it just looks so damn adorable. I know very little about Dragon Quest, but that’s not going to stop me from jumping into Builders when it releases this fall.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole
I absolutely loved South Park: The Stick of Truth, but never expected The Fracture But Whole to be my most anticipated game following E3. The footage shown off at Ubisoft’s press conference reminded me just how great South Park can be. With a new storyline (this time involving super heroes), improved combat and gameplay, and that crude humor South Park is known for, The Fractured But Whole is looking like another top notch South Park game from the minds of Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

Xbox E3 2017 Briefing - Reaction
Xbox One X. Basically PS4 Pro's competitor.
Just forewarning: I play on PlayStation mainly for nostalgia’s sake. I grew up with the PS1 and PS2. I’m getting used to their online services, mainly because I’m a single-player kind of gamer. That and my PS3 got yellow-lighted. My brother (who was gaming more than me at the time) switched to the X360 when it first released. Now, I have a regular PS4 while my brother has an Xbox One.
I don't have a PS4 Pro or a 4K TV. I'm rocking the original PS4. My brother has the original Xbox One. Sooo... They'll have to lower the prices on 4K TVs with HDR for me to commit.
I hear the One X has backwards compatibility. My brother has a lot of Xbox 360 games.
Forza 7. My brother is a gearhead so he'll love this game. Me? Not so much.
Oh let's show a new Porsche none of these gamers have the money to actually buy.
4K @ 60FPS seems to be the keyword that makes these gamers cream themselves. Just saying.
Do these professional drivers actually play Forza?
Next title! Oh my, an FPS. Is this a sequel to a newer IP? IDK. The trailer music screams Inception. Oh, those animal monsters look nice. I can tell the visits are going to get annoying. Idk. Nice attention to detail though. Post-apocalyptic? What kind of game is this? That bigger monster reveal was underwhelming. Metro Exodus. Meh. Haven't played the first one.
4K WORLD PREMIERE OMG Whatever. Uh? 4K Age of Empires? Oh. Another Assassin's Creed game. Whatever. AC: Origins. Apparently it's in Egypt. EPIC GAMING ADVENTURE ™.
Xbox One X sounds like a redundant name. Like Wii U.
QUALITY BIRD GRAPHICS ™ Not impressed.
All of this showcasing reminds me that I need to get a new TV for my PS4 gaming. I have a pretty thick plasma TV. It contains mercury. Not good. So all this resolution talk means nothing if it doesn't fit on my TV with faded colors. I don't want anything fancy. Just 1080p with HDR probably. Nothing too big.
Anyway, AC: Origins doesn't impress me.
Hooray, more shooters. Ugh. Player Unknown's Battlegrounds.
Another exclusive. Shooting and Mining? Bad voice acting. Deep Rock Galactic.
Ok seriously fuck the guy saying Yehh at everything.
Exclusive. Post-apocalyptic. Army? Zombies? Really? Yawn. At least be a bit creative. The animation kinda sucks. Not even fluid So it's a tower defense thing? Cars. Boomer. Yeah, this is utter shit. This fucking trailer is so long. Pretty boring. State of Decay 2. Next.
Exclusive. Ooh nice design. Uh what the fuck? What? Darwin Project. The Shoutcaster ruined it.
Minecraft? Again? I thought we were over that. Next. I don't know how you make Minecraft more detailed with bigger resolution.
Japan. Hilarious. Little crazy. Fun. Oh. It's Dragon Ball. Never mind. The layout reminds me of the old DB games. Like Ultimate Battle 22 or something. (Yeah, I’m old.) But you know, updated. Like Guilty Gear or Skullgirls or Marvel vs. Capcom or something. Dragon Ball Fighter Z. Nice.
Exclusive. Looks beautiful. MMORPG? I'd play this. Not gonna lie. Black Desert. Ok.
Exclusive. Another post-apocalyptic. That cinematography looks nice. Wait what. Pixel characters. Wow. The Last Night. Yeah, is definitely play that. Very cyberpunk.
Exclusive. Ok. I like quirky designs like this. Johnson Vendetti. Nice guitar lol. What the fuck is this. Lol. The Artful Escape. (Coming when it's damn ready.) Alright cool.
Code Vein. Sick. Don't know what it is but it's anime as fuck. Bandai Namco. Oh ok.
Sea of Thieves. Exclusive. Shared world. Yeah, but I like single player games. I'm not into the pirate scene either. Looks fun though.
Exclusive. Oohh. Space. Tacoma.
Exclusive. What. Fox thing. What. FEED ME SEYMOUR. *Exhausted sigh* I don't know anymore. Fart joke from an onion. Fantastic. I'm sure kids will enjoy this. Super Lucky's Tale.
Exclusive. Oh my God is this Cuphead? YES FINALLY. GIMME THIS SHIT. SEPTEMBER 29. FINALLY. I LIVE FOR THIS.
Exclusive. TERRY CREWS? BEST THING EVER. Is this Crackdown? I liked the other ones so this is good. Crackdown 3. Good.
ID@Xbox Game Montage Time. Let's see what looks good in about 10 seconds of footage. Unruly Heroes. Observer. Hello Neighbor, of course. Shift. Eh, not much.
Next few games.
Exclusive. Stylistic. Oooh. Wow, these characters have no faces. Light and Darkness themes. This looks really nice. Ashen.
SQUARE ENIX WORLD PREMIERE. THEY OWN MY ASS ALREADY. WHATCHU GOT, SQUARE? OH SHIT LIFE IS STRANGE 2. FUCK YES FINALLY OMG. GIMME THIS SHIT. WHATS GONNA HAPPEN NOW? BIG APPLAUSE FROM ME. IM IN. IM SOLD. WHAT? BEFORE THE STORM. 3 EPISODES? ONLY 3? FIRST ONE COMES OUT ON AUGUST 31. THAT'S SO SOON. YAAAS SQUARE. GIMME THIS SHIT.
Middle Earth: Shadow of War. Alright. I don't know what other Middle Earth game I played. I think it was Shadow of Mordor. I loved it. Oh God. So much for being an optimist. Yeah I'd play this. By the way, the acting and facial capture is amazing. Brûz is funny as hell.
Exclusive. AW SHIT. PIANO GUY. WHAT IS THAT CUTE LEMUR THING? That's a frog... and a giant spider. Nice owl. Ohhh noooooooo. Great music. Ori and the Will-o-the-Wisps. I love it.
Hey, Sony. Where's your backwards compatibility?! YOU HAVE A GREAT LIBRARY BUT COME ON. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO SUBSCRIBE TO ANOTHER SERVICE FOR BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY.
Your last presenter is from EA? Really? New IP. OH. BIOWARE. Anthem. Oh wow. This looks really nice. This looks pretty crazy. So is this basically BioWare's answer to Destiny? But will this have a good story? Lol they think players talk to each other like this. I'd play this. But I'll probably do it single player.
Right now, I don’t really have an incentive to upgrade to a 4K-ready console like the Xbox One X or the PS4 Pro. Some of the games showcased at Microsoft’s Briefing looks nice. I’d probably borrow my brother’s Xbox to play exclusives like Ori and Cuphead.

Minecraft Turns RTX On With Latest Windows 10 Beta Build
April 16, 2020 2:37 PM EST
Minecraft flips that RTX switch all the way to 11 in their latest Windows 10 beta.
Visually, Minecraft has never exactly been what you’d call stunning. I mean, sure, you can download different texture packs or shaders, but there’s only so much you can do. Until now that is. Today, Minecraft joined the RTX crowd with the release of a new beta on Windows 10. And it looks pretty great. Watch the new trailer below to see for yourself. Pay attention to the lighting in particular, as that’s where I think you’re seeing the most profound difference.
youtube
Be careful who you make fun of in middle school, am I right? Now obviously, it’s still Minecraft. You’re not getting photorealistic visuals by any means. However, the mix of incredible lighting and more vibrant colors really does make this look like a big step up visually for the game. Though, it has to be said that, to experience the update for yourself you’ll need an RTX capable card. That’s going to put it out of reach for quite a few people.
That said, if you do have an RTX card, you might consider downloading it. The team has put together several different hand-built worlds that show off some of the stunning things the update can do. All of these are free of course, so jumping in is just a matter of hitting that download button. It’s also worth noting that this is a beta. Everything you see can and probably will change. But if you don’t mind playing around with something still in development, this one looks pretty cool.
Minecraft is available now pretty much everywhere. If you have a PC that meets the minimum specs, you can hop into the Minecraft with RTX beta on Windows 10. No word yet on when we’ll get a proper release, but it can’t be too much further along now.
