I beat Pokerogue today (it’s an amazing fangame ) and it got me thinking about Everlark Pokémon teams again. I know I’m gonna make a wip of out this eventually so I might as well brainstorm.

Originally I thought Peeta would have a cute Edelgloss like Milo (my dearest soft baby boy) or a Machomp(because of his wrestling) as his potential aces but I think Litten which evolves into the fire/fighting type Incineroar is the vision. It brings in two Peeta’s core attribute in his baking (fire) and wrestling. And a lot of fighting moves involve getting the user injured to dish out massive damage, which is totally a Peeta coded 😭😭 and cat = Katniss of course.

After that I can see him rounding off his team with grass and fairy types because he’s a soft soul, with an adorable Alcremie that can gmax into a giant cake in battle 🤣🤣 and the cute deceitful Lurantis. After the first game, I think he’s get a steel type pokemon, to show this new stage of his life where he has a prosthetic leg. I think he’d specifically get a Corvisquire/Corviknight to help him get around more easily. Plus it’s a really tanky mon, which fits him.

And of course as an artist, he’d have a Smergle as a little buddy.

I’m obsessed with the idea that Kataniss and Peeta co-parent their Pokémon’s together, so they’re always switching around their sixth Pokémon. But if they weren’t, I think he’d really resonate and care for a Mimikyu. Idk, Mimkyu twoface/disguised imposter form and it’s sad backstory is so Peeta to me. Especially after Mj.

Now Katniss. Katniss’s ace is a Jigglypuff. There is no leeway here. She’s have a cute little pink Jigglypuff. She’d specifically have the one from the anime that is a complete menace. Katniss could pretend that Jiggypuff isn’t her ace, but it is, whether she likes it or not.

There are soooo many bird type Pokémon and it’s a given that Katniss would have one of them. It was just a matter of deciding which one to give Katniss. Out of all of them, I think giving her the fire/flying Fletching is answer- especially since the shiny form has gold wings. Though I did love the idea of giving her a Taillow with the ability Guts- which boosts damage when the Pokémon has a status ailment like Burn. This mon is totally her hunting buddy too.

Next she’d have a Fidough/Dachsbun which is literally a bread dog. I know I know, which should totally belong to Peeta, but hear me out the sentimental value is deeper if Katniss has keeps it on her team. (And like I said, Everlark co-parent their Pokémon.) the little guy gets event stronger when he’s hit with fire. It’s perfect.

I’ve mentioned it before, but I also think she’d be the primary trainer for the Edegloss. It the closest thing we have to a dandelion Pokémon and that’s Katniss’ little symbol of hope and happiness.

Next she’s have a Cubone. Why? Because it wears its mother’s skull on its face. The truama is self explanatory.

Finally as her sixth spot/flex, I think Katniss would fit perfectly with the adorable Morpecko, and which becomes violent and aggressive when it’s hangry. (Lmao)

Aside from the Talonflame/Fletching and maybe the Cubone/Marowak, Katniss has a very adorable team 😭 which feels very Katniss because even in the QQ girlie was not picking out competitive allies to win, she was going to the sentimental ones she likes.

Thats all for now! My hands are full with other WIPs, but believe me, I think I have a small plot bunny with Pokémon’s coming up.

The lineup might change later on, but here’s what I have so far.

Peeta: Litten/Incineroar (ace), Alcremie, Lurantis, Corviknight, Smergle, Mimikyu

ok, so! just read the demo for book 2 after book 1 bender and I must admit - romancing Milo I approached the looming poly route with a bout of trepidation (it rarely hits right for me). but my anxiety was misplaced it seems! I absolutely adore what we can already see of the throuple dynamic in game.

love how differently Mal plays off of NM with, lets say, hotheaded temperament (just dragging Milo and them to the opposite sides of the room like naughty children lol) and with more mellow one. just as well with Milo, his dynamic with Mal and with NM is so different. it's fascinating to vitness (no I won't fight you! come and get it, pretty boy!!1).

in one of the patreon shorts Mal says something along the lines of "I already act like I love them, keep up". I noticed that he is far more reserved individual than Milo (not that it hard ahah) but pls dearest can't you just make a move?? I know your abusive evil witch mother just came back from the dead and your sister is MIA but pleaaaase.

khem, anyway. referencing your older ask - you said Milo gets something from Mal that he can't get from NM and vice versa. in your opinion, what is it? I'm curious to hear your musings.

Malcolm is just waiting for the right time. He can be a stubbornly patient fucker and even I get irritated at him for that. LOL!

Milo in my mind has always gotten from MC more of a relationship. I think the comforts that come with a relationship is what he can have there. He likes that he feels loved with the MC (when they are together) and he feels fulfilled.

But from Mal, I think he can exercise his demons a bit more. He can show the really ugly side that he hates of himself and he doesn't care what Mal thinks of him in that moment. I think that comes from him knowing that Malcolm will always forgive him.

I think with MC, he's afraid they will hate him if he shows his ugly side. He also feels like if he fucks up, MC will leave.

There is probably more to be discovered there but I want to do that in game.

did a ship meme for milo + ingo, which i've decided to call trainstitchshipping! also, here's a link to milo's toyhouse profile in case you're curious about them :]

commentary under cut

context: fully explained in this post but essentially: they'd been friends in the present for a few years before ingo got transported to hisui. after he goes missing, milo + emmet manage to go find him with the help of a celebi, but then aren't able to return to the future until akari arrives and legends arceus happens in full (which takes a couple years). ingo doesn't remember the initial few years of knowing milo, but they get to know each other again and eventually get together after akari fixes the rift

name: for ingo's last name, i looked up a list of nyc subway stations and picked one i thought sounded nice with he + emmet's first names! and funnily enough this has made their initials IVS and EVS. [points] stat boys

ages: milo + ingo are only 5 years apart, but milo gets a fair amount of comments about dating an older man due to ingo's silver hair and receding hairline. ingo gets the opposite side where people will ask him how he found a partner so much younger than him. they both find it exasperating but kind of funny, and milo will sometimes jokingly call him their silver fox

big/little spoon: ingo's taller, so he's the big spoon more often, but it's not unusual for them to switch. ingo can conk out cuddling pretty easily, but it's actually pretty difficult for milo, and even then they tend to extract themself in their sleep overnight. so, most of their cuddles are reserved for mid-day naps and comfortable dozing

lends/borrows clothes: there isn't much that milo wears that fits ingo, so it's mostly milo borrowing his stuff on the occasion that it happens. most often it's yoinking his coat + hat to be silly in, but they'll also borrow his tunics on mt coronet in the winter since they're warmer and easier to put on than full kimonos + hakama/monpe. they do however make him clothes! the perks of apprenticing at the clothier's

pet names: they both use them! ingo uses "dearest" quite often for milo, while milo will call him "dearheart" and occasionally "my love." milo uses them slightly less though, so they're a little further towards the left

intro/extroversion: having run the battle subway for years, ingo's built up a larger social battery and can go for quite a while before needing to recharge, especially on the occasion where he's comfortable with the people and doesn't have to mask. milo's on the more introverted side. they enjoy being around people, but they usually tend to be quieter, and run out of juice a lot quicker

affection + PDA: milo is a frequent genuine sayer of "i love you!" but they're also just as quick to show physical affection (kisses, gentle headbutts, little touches). this holds true even when they're in public, and they quite enjoy how it happily flusters ingo a little. ingo can be pretty affectionate too, he's just a smidge shyer about it. he likes doing little things for them, too, though, like making them food or carving them little wooden charms. and back on milo's side, they look after his hat + coat, patching them up and adding thicker lining for the cold months

extra: back when milo was traveling hoenn in the future, ingo would text them a "good morning, have a nice friday" thomas the tank engine meme each week. in hisui, milo draws one from memory on a card, and they start trading it back and forth each week, leaving it for the other to find. so they show affection in silly + sweet little ways like that too

confessing feelings: milo was quicker to figure out their feelings, and started flirting through playful affection first, but they're also pretty shy when it comes to acting on their feelings. luckily, ingo is good at taking the initiative in most kinds of social situations, so he's the one who confessed first + asked them out. he asked them very formally if they'd allow him to court them, and milo beamed, said yes, and asked if they could kiss him (he agreed)

bugs: admittedly, milo will go AUGH upon discovering a bug, but in the end the two of them are both members of the Shoo The Bugs Outside club. that is, if their respective bats don't eat them first (milo's swoobat and ingo's gliscor)

driving: technically, ingo does know how to safely operate a car. being in the 1800s, though, there aren't really any opportunities for him to realize or prove this. and up until hisui, milo lived between cities and suburbs with decent public transportation their whole life, so they never got all the way through learning + getting a driver's license

cooking: ingo is both good at cooking and enjoys it, so he's usually the one putting food together. milo is actually pretty competent in the kitchen themself when they have a recipe and instructions, it's just that they don't like cooking very much. on their own, milo is one of those people who'd be happy to just subsist off of ingredients (charcuterie board style). they don't mind helping out, though, so they do so pretty regularly whenever the two of them are in the same place

protectiveness: milo and ingo are pretty chill about each other. milo's been watching ingo battle and handle rowdy passengers for years, so they have complete confidence that he can handle himself. ingo's much the same way, milo's a competent battler and not bad at handling tough social situations themself, if sometimes awkwardly. if either of them see the other looking uncomfortable or off-kilter in any way shape or form, though, they will join the fray to support each other

relationship experience: another technically here. ingo, technically, has more relationship experience (he had a partner in college), he just doesn't remember it, so the two of them are more or less in the same place

horny levels: demi4demi babey!!! milo has the higher sex drive and thus initiates more often, but ingo is quite happy to attend to them. he's rather bashful in the bedroom, and milo finds this very cute

awkwardness levels: solid is with each other, and the dotted line is with strangers. with each other, they're actually not that awkward. ingo appreciates and strives for polite, frank, and direct communication. milo saw this, went Oh Thank God, and followed his example, so the two of them are pretty good at communicating. there are still moments of awkwardness between them, but they're also both such earnest people that they're usually able to resolve it pretty quickly. strangers, though, they can both be fairly awkward around at times. that's The 'Tism for you

jealousy levels: neither milo nor ingo are especially jealous people, and they have enough trust in each other that it's just never really a problem. if people flirt with either of them knowing they're taken, milo tends to be amused at the audacity, while ingo's mostly just perplexed and sometimes annoyed if the person's especially persistent. milo will sometimes initiate a PDA in view of whoever it was to make a point to that person, so their level is a little higher, but that's about it

Camiro ship hc's

I couldn't come up with a fic so I made HC's instead

It took Camilo months to hype himself up and court Hiro. Yes, Camilo was confident and conceded, but when it came to Hiro all that confidence flew out the window.

Hiro was just so smart, funny, goofy, and just so amazingly cool & awesome (his words, not mine). How could Camilo's heart not instantly flutter, and his mind turn to goop once he saw him?

His family and friends knew all about Hiro of course, he would never shut up about him.

"And you should just see how he lights up when he talks about those weird inventions of his."

"OH- I just learned that he has a sweet tooth and loves Natilla! Also, Tia Julieta, my dearest Tia, I have a favor to ask of you-"

"Did any of you see his tooth gap or just the way he smiles? He could quite literally replace the sun with it"

"Did you know Hiro's aunt Kess owns/owned a bakery in Sanfrantokyo? Do you think we could maybe...go there sometime?"

"Hiro just-"

"Hey, Hiro invited-"

Isabela, "Camilo, if you mention him one more time, I'm gonna throw YOU AND HIM into the sun!"

Yeah, everyone knows a lot about Hiro at this point.

All of the ramblings remind Bruno and Julieta of how Pepa used to be about Felix. Just the never-ending talk of how he was so great one way or another.

Pepa & Felix find it absolutely adorable that Camilo has found someone to fuss over. They always asked when he would invite him over, but Camilo always had some excuse as to why he couldn't come.

Dolores listened out on their conversations, her own way of telling whether Hiro was right for her hermano. She listened enough to hear that there was some romance between them and that Hiro is a genuinely sweet kid.

Isabela teased him about it of course, why wouldn't she? She called him a "scaredy cat" or a "chicken" for not asking Hiro out yet. Nothing too harsh but just enough to annoy Camilo.

"You should just ask him out already, the worst he could say is no!"

"The worst he could do is not be my best friend anymore!"

The whole family (besides Mirabel, Antonio, and Bruno) pitched in with some dating advice. In hopes to give Camilo the confidence he needed to go through with it...and a small desperate attempt to stop hearing Camilo ramble on & on about him.

After a few weeks of hyping him up, Camilo finally did it. But not in the way everyone expected him to.

Here's how it played out:

Camilo confidently walked up to Hiro, who was talking with Mirabel at the moment. Was she there to help by stalling Hiro? You decide that for yourself.

A bouquet of blue & red hibiscus flowers in his hand, thanks to Isa. Milo gently tapped a finger on Hiro's shoulder to get his attention.

Hiro turned around and when he saw Camilo, he instantly smiled, "Oh, hey milo. What's up?"

That smile, that signature smile that made Camilo's heart jump out of his chest. And in an instant, Camilo's mind melted like a Paleta in the summer heat.

"I...I um...I uh...you uh..I um.." Camilo stuttered as he attempted to think of words to say. But there were no words in his brain, only Hiro. Unfortunately, that's when his body decided to work against him, and he unknowingly shifted into the boy in front of him.

Mirabel faced palmed in secondhand embarrassment & annoyance. He had one job.

Hiro was a little stunned but chuckled at Camilo's antics, "You okay? You don't quite look like yourself"

Camilo looked down at himself and blushed, GREAT! JUST GREAT! This was embarrassing. He had one chance and yet he managed to screw it all up.

But...No! NO! NO! NO!

This was his only chance...he couldn't screw it up. Not entirely anyway. So, in a feeble attempt to save this. He held up the blue and red hibiscus flowers...directly in Hiro's face.

"PLEASE GO OUT WITH ME!!!"

Yeah, and that's how that happened. Of course, Dolores spilled the beans, as did Mirabel about that whole shindig. Pepa and Felix were overjoyed, his tia & tio's were proud of him, and Isabela will never let him live it down.

About 6 months into the relationship, Hiro and his aunt was invited over for dinner.

That was fun to say the least.

Anon I understand you fr. As soon as my semester is over and exams are done, I’m gonna finally sit down and play through all of Act 1. Milo is showing up to the test hungover.

Gabriel is showing up to the exam to tell the professor everything that is wrong on the exam.

Hazel would show up late because she was up the night before trying so hard to study that she didn't sleep and then overslept.

Belladonna would ace the exam. But you would never know that because she wouldn't even attend the test.

Malcolm would study the night before at a cafe, drinking a lot of tea. He'd probably do pretty decent with the exam and afterwards, he'd be going home to sleep.
