I just read about your Tales of Mash up (again), and I'm really curious as of the relationships everyone has with one another, like I get they all become friends at the end because the power of friendship is awesome, but how does each protagonist view one another, at least at the start?? Hope that's clear enough...
It makes perfect sense! And I’m sorry I took so long! I tried to say something about the character’s personality as much as what they think about the people around them. Some characters have the same opinions for plot reasons. For instance, some people are going to sound like they’re patronizing Ludger or Luke. This is L O N G post. Hope that makes up for the wait!
Velvet:
Sorey - Naive Idiot.
Jude - Spineless idiot.
Milla - Irresponsible idiot.
Ludger - You’re useful, so you can stay.
Asbel - A good man, but an idiot.
Luke - PROTECT THE CHILD.
Yuri - You are also useful but you talk too much.
Sorey
Velvet - Please calm down.
Jude - A good friend and doctor, he’s just a little mixed up, that’s all.
Milla - She’s trying her best, she just doesn’t know what that is yet.
Ludger - Please calm down.
Asbel - A close friend who considers him a confidante.
Luke - Why are you here?
Yuri - It’s my job to help people like you. Please calm down.
Jude
Velvet - I’m not a coward, you just have no respect.
Sorey - A great Shepherd, but a terrible patient.
Milla - Her Holiness Lord Maxwell of the Cataclysm
Ludger - Oh. You are not who you say you are and I’m the only one who knows that.
Asbel - King Richard’s closest friend who knows nothing about medicine but seems to have an opinion on every treatment he has.
Luke - Who is this lost, sassy child?
Yuri - You have no idea who Ludger really is, do you?
Milla
Velvet - Ah, a nun! Could you please fetch me a drink?
Sorey - Ah, a shepherd! Please tell these people that I only accept offerings of food.
Jude - Jude!!!! My friend!!! I love you!!
Ludger - So you are a human, yes? Why can’t you talk? (oh my god, Milla you can’t just ask before why they can’t talk!)
Asbel - I’m sorry but I’m the Lord here. You are a human lord, I am a malak lord. There is a very, very big difference.
Luke - Ah, a child! Would you like a piece of candy?
Yuri - What do you mean you don’t “do offerings”? Everyone gives offerings!
Ludger
Velvet - Help.
Sorey - Why.
Jude - No.
Milla - Okay?
Asbel - Bitch.
Luke - Child?
Yuri - Friend.
Asbel
Velvet - Maybe not a murderer but definitely still a criminal.
Sorey - A valuable asset to Lhant and confidante.
Jude - Elympion medicine is weird and I would like you to stop, please.
Milla - Okay, but I’m actually in charge, thanks.
Ludger - It’s my job to help people like you. Stop hanging out with people like Yuri and Velvet.
Luke - Why can’t you be more like Sophie?
Yuri - You’re not being entirely honest with me.
Luke
Velvet - I.
Sorey - AM.
Jude - NOT.
Milla - A.
Ludger - CHILD.
Asbel - SHUT UP.
Yuri - You’re cool though.
Yuri
Velvet - Exactly who are you to judge me about anything?
Sorey - Look as long as you can keep up, I don’t care.
Jude - Aren’t doctors supposed to be smart?
Milla - No thanks.
Ludger - We’re gonna get you home. Don’t worry.
Asbel - He thinks he’s the leader. Cute.
Luke - People won’t treat you like a child, if you stopped acting like one.

Another RQ on Instagram of anybody from Tales of Xillia, so I choose this lady and this outfit. She looked spunky--with Princess Peach levels of hair. ♥

so running the “Winter in Cross Tag” what-if scenario further because it’s fun, what her reference colour palettes could be, and reasoning (the game has five reference palettes to the main franchises involved in the base game , ArcSys’ other flagship Guilty Gear, and a further palette that is usually an unthemed reference - for RWBY, Ruby and Yang’s reference palette was their mothers, while Blake and Weiss got the palettes of the Disney versions of their allusions. the 2.0 update added an additional reference palette, again no particular theme for what could be referenced; RWBY got K/DA as their second reference palettes)
under the cut:
Guilty Gear: Millia Rage - kind person with a cold exterior caught up with a less than savoury group (the Assassin’s Guild for Millia, the military for Winter)
BlazBlue: Hibiki Kohaku - solely because they’re both dual wielding military personnel sword users, personality wise they have little in common
Persona: Sae Niijima - Sae is the older sister of P5′s Makoto, who originally starts off quite cold before defrosting over the course of the story, and for bonus points both are played by Elizabeth Maxwell
Under Night In-Birth: Londrekia - ice theming, wields weapon like a rapier, mask of stoicism
RWBY: Penny Polendina - because of their wholesome friendship
Reference Palette 1: Satsuki Kiryuin from Kill la Kill, because it’s an easy reference to make, older sisters, dual wielding, work for the enemy initially but is an ally later on, etc.
Reference Palette 2: Katalina Aryze from Granblue Fantasy - a rapier wielding former soldier who cut ties after the empire she worked for revealed itself to be corrupt and amoral; it’s what Winter’s being set up for and it’s Katalina’s backstory, so this seemed like an obvious choice

#ICYMI The new episode of Crossroads of Rockland History is now available for streaming. Listen at the link below or on all major podcast platforms!
____________________________
Episode originally aired on Monday, June 20, 2022, at 9:30am, on WRCR 1700AM
We turned our attention to the life and legacy of Millia Davenport. David Bisaha, Assistant Professor of Theater at SUNY Binghamton joined host Clare Sheridan to discuss this remarkable and trailblazing woman who lived most of her life in Rockland County. Among her many contributions include writing the definitive book of theatrical costume history, The Book of Costume. Published in 1948, it remains the gold standard. (Royalties from the book were donated to the New City Library.)
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on March 31, 1895, to Charles B. and Gertrude Crotty Davenport, Millia Davenport lived in New City for more than 70 years. Her father and mother were biology teachers at Harvard and Radcliffe, respectively. They were genetic researchers and helped establish the Station for Experimental Evolution of the Carnegie Institute of Washington in Cold Spring Harbor, NY.
After attending Barnard and Parsons, Millia Davenport created artwork for and edited The Quill, a literary magazine. Later, she became one of the first female scenic design painters in America. She worked as a costume designer for a number of Broadway theater companies, including Maxwell Anderson's Playwrights Company and Orson Welles's Mercury Theater.
In 1981, she received an honorary doctorate in fine arts from the Parsons School of Design in Manhattan the same year that she received the highest honor given by the United States Institute for Theatre Technology for a lifetime of distinguished contribution to the performing arts. In 1991 the Costume Society of America established the Millia Davenport Publication Award recognizing excellence in costume scholarship.
Davenport died in 1992.
David Bisaha is a scholar and practitioner who studies performance design, theatrical space and architecture, and the history of theatrical creativity. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Theater at SUNY Binghamton. He specializes in the history of scenic design in the United States, mostly in the first half of the twentieth century, and in the more recent history of immersive and participatory performance. His other research interests include theatre historiography, cognitive sciences and performance, directing theory, and memory studies.
Bisaha’s current book project, American Scenic Design and Freelance Professionalism, is a cultural labor history of scenic designers and designing in the United States. At Binghamton, Bisaha teaches theater and performance history, dramaturgy, and theater theory in the MA and BA programs. He is the Curator of the Theatre Collection of the Department of Theatre, and is affiliate faculty and a steering committee member of the Material and Visual Worlds Transdisciplinary Area of Excellence (TAE). The Millia Davenport papers are housed there.

Tales of Mash Up: Locations
So I’m currently working on the Tales of Mash-Up. I’m STILL looking for a beta reader if anyone wants to message me. I should be uploading a detailed Time Line of the Imperial War very soon. That should be the last post I make before I start posting this massive project in earnest.
Elympios: (Ludger) A mechanical metropolis that has launched a campaign against the ideals of Spirit worship. The Main Aggressor in the Imperial War with vastly superior fire power. No matter how you slice it, it’s religious persecution. Elympios believes the planet belongs to Humans and that the gods sent the spirits to the Earth to subjugate them. They are led by Bisley Bakur and his sons Victor, Julius and Ludger. He plans on sacrificing many spirits at once to breach the Land of Canaan. Value: Progress
Kingdom of Hyland: (Asbel) A country that boasts itself as the home for education. Home of the Amarcian Enclave. Removed from World Politics after annexing Fendel at the cost of Strahta to Gand. Ruled By Richard IV of Windor who’s in poor health and his cousin Alisha II of Diphda. Prioritizes the protection of its citizens over outsiders and even allies. The war has made travel into and out of the country very difficult and expensive. The Province of Lhant is right in the geographical center of Hyland. Value: Protection
Gand: (Velvet, Sorey) A theocracy based off of the worship of spirits and gods. Led By High Shepherd Artorius. The Twin Spirits Maotelus and Innominat sit on the High Throne and are worshiped by the country with offerings. However, they’ve been relatively withdrawn since their caretaker Sister Velvet Crowe vanished suddenly and is presumed dead. Izuchi caters exclusively to pilgrims. Claims to be the most spiritually balanced country and has managed to avoid further aggression from Elympios so far. Somehow. Value: Discipline
Kimlasca/Malkuth: (Luke) One of Elympios’s biggest allies. A lot of factories, not a lot of nature. A large country after annexing Lanvaldear during the war. Many of the countries Spirits work in indentured labor. However, with the death of their king, his son Asch the Bloody is actually planning on defecting from the alliance. Unfortunately, Elympios has foreseen this and is using Malkuth’s King Consort Jade Curtiss and Kimlasca’s Chief Engineer Guy Cecil as political hostages. However, the youngest prince, Luke, doesn't seem to be doing much other than complaining. Value: Innovation
The Rolance Empire: (Yuri) The Largest country opposing Elympios and close ally of Reize Maxia. Boasts a large military force and quite a few mercenary guilds with freedom to move about the country. Including the guild Vesperia who’s famous for the Lance of Kresnik sting operation where they destroyed one of Elympios’s military factories with a runaway train. Rolance invented the Blastia that activated The Schism but only three people in the World know where it’s hidden. For now, they benefit from Reize Maxia’s foresight into the battle ahead but The Schism can’t last forever. Value: Love
Reize Maxia: (Jude, Milla) A smaller country, heavily spiritual and struggles with Elympios’s new weapons. Has taken heavy losses due to its own political instability. Recently, the king has been deposed and a new king Gaius Outway has taken over. Together with the Prophet of Kresnik and his Chimeriad, Gaius has single-handedly defended Reize Maxia for four years. Elympios kidnapped the Prophet of Kresnik and claimed to have killed them but their tactics haven’t changed and they refuse to show a body. King Gaius and his Chimeriad are faithfully waiting for their prophet to return. Value: Perseverance
