Update on the I'll build castles for you, my love, more regarding characters+ snippets of them+pics of them.

I finally made all the OC's for Rosinante's marine crew he is in charge of as a Commander. After some googling (seriously there is a lack of military information on the internet) I decided Rosinante would be in charge of about 200 Marines. If anyone wants to know, the ranks of Marines in One Piece are 100% based on the Japanese Navy. Here is the link if anyone wants to read more. The captain (rank above commander) is the one giving orders on the ship but the commander is the one in charge those orders are followed. Commanders are also in army sense brigade/squadron/platoon commanders and that's what I decided to focus on. Just as Hina is in charge of Black Cage Corps as a Captain, Rosinante will be in charge of two things: 1) 200 Navy soldiers 2) Assassination & Espionage Unit

I'm focusing on #2. There will be multiple brigades within the A&E Corps, and Rosinante climbs the rank of the Corps with LIGHTNING SPEED. At 20, he gets put in charge of the first unit, the most elite one. The squad gets the name after its commander's last name, but also after a nocturnal/silent animal.

Honestly, Coby became a Captain at 19, which means he already captains his own Navy ship (gotta say I screamed in joy when I saw Coby was captain I love Coby so much), so Rosinante, who is even more capable, will also be climbing the ranks quick as FUCK. I think Oda made Rosinante a Marine Commander instead of Marine Captain because Marine Commander plays the same role & rank as Doflamingo's Top Executives, which Rosinante IS. They lead a branch of the army/navy, and have their own corps/pirate teams to lead, and answer only to the captain.

“Man, it got hot in there,” muttered the white-haired, dark-skinned teen, grabbing his white tank top, cooling himself off by flapping it. “Thanks for the light.”

He exhaled a puff of smoke.

“No problem,” said Rosinante, glancing away to the bay.

“Get yourself comfortable, saint. Have I got a great fight to tell you about. So, there we were, docked at Oregon Island in the south bay, while your brother’s ship - some pink insult to all flamingos, really -” Rosinante giggled as Wuf continued talking, “was docked at the north bay. So I snuck out and was there within two minutes in my zoan form. Then I switched back and walked around the port a bit, looking for some form of pink.. and lo and behold, ten feet tall blond mannequin of absolute dreadful fashion was on the other side of the street talking up a girl, but she was clearly not into those tiger print pants and red leather jacket with a fucking pink fur collar, five seas, it was terrible, he’s eighteen, he should dress better if he wants to get girls.”

“Oooh, it was so good, Rosinante. I swaggered on over, but not your brother’s weird bird mating dance walk where he shoves his cock in the girl’s face. I wish I was joking, man, he actually walks like that. Chill, flamingo, what are you, a male escort -”

“Wulf -” gasped Rosinante, unable to breathe.

He was going to choke. Rosinante was going to choke. He was laughing so much he was crying. He couldn’t eat the crackers or he’d be put in the hospital bed next.

“She wasn’t into you,” said Wulf. He smirked cruelly at the eighteen-year-old blond pirate. “Can’t blame her, any girl in her right mind would run for the hills when you smile like a creep at them. The only girls you’re ever gonna get are the ones you pay for, because nobody would date a walking pink fur.”

Rosinante squawked like a frog. He was bent over, clutching his stomach, laughing.

“He was raring to go. I could tell. He said: You stole my fun for the night, mutt.”

“And then I said: Only seems fair for what you did to my mate, bird dick. And then. I. Smashed. My. Armament. Fist. Into. His. Face.”

“And boy, did he fly then.”

“Exactly,” said Wulf. “Now move your ass, prince charming. You’re gonna get yourself a girlfriend — not a one-night stand, mind you, those don’t count! — or I won’t be called Wulf the Direwolf.”

“You don’t have a girlfriend, either, Wulf...” muttered Rosinante, letting himself be dragged along the corridor of the marine barracks.

“Keep it up and I’ll throw you all the way up to Mariejois, saint.” said Wulf.

Rosinante chuckled.

Crow Corps (all together)

“Rise and shine!” said Rosinante cheerily, pulling back the blinds of the living room.

Numerous groans filled the living room where his fellow six marines slept when the sunlight hit their faces.

“I give you thirty seconds to pull those things back, Commander.” muttered Nietzsche, face buried in the pillow, flicking open his right eye, purple iris glowing in the sunlight under his purple hair.

“I give him ten before I throw him all the way across the island and explain to his wife why she’s become a widow,” muttered Wulf sleepily, rolling over, eyes shut.

Bandi groaned inside his throat, burrowing his head into the sheet, the dark brown tousles of his hair strewn all around.

Castor and Montés were still sleeping, undisturbed by the sunlight. Castor’s snores were only interrupted with his mumble of, “Coconut oil…” as he turned around in his spread-out sleeping position, the blue bead hair tie holding his light russett bangs up while the rest of his ruffled hair laid in disarray on the pillow.

“Commander Donquixote is a sadist,” muttered Hibou hoarsely, hiding under the pillow, holding his hands pressed firmly over it so nobody could toss it off his blond head. “Sadist.”

Doflamingo & Crow Corps (after Rosinante's death)

“Hello, gentlemen,” said Doflamingo. You gasped, turning to your window. Doflamingo was sitting on the windowsill, arms crossed over his chest, the spring wind breezing in through the open space, ruffling his feathery spikes of blond hair along with the pink feathers of his coat.

A sharp, wide smile of a knife was stretched across his devastating face; your gut sunk with fear. It was sunrise of a Saturday.

Rosinante’s crew shot up at the moment they heard Doflamingo’s voice, their arms coating themselves with Armament Haki.

Wulf growled, his throat vibrating.

“You,” said Wulf.

The air grew thick with the murderous intent of six marines staring down the warlord, wishing nothing else but to kill him.

Doflamingo didn’t move, completely relaxed, lounging on the windowsill, his sunglasses and face turned toward you.

“Would you look at that,” said Doflamingo conversationally, the orange and red light of the sun casting itself on his face, painting him devillishly. “Sunrise on a Saturday.”

He sat up, uncrossing his arms. He stepped down from the windowsill. Tears threatened at your eyes. 

Wulf narrowed his black eyes at Doflamingo.

“She’s mine for the next forty-eight hours,” said Doflamingo, deep voice resounding across your living room. “So be good little marine dogs and get lost.”

On board the deck of the British aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales, on the east coast of the U.S., a fully loaded F-35B, to the fullest, is helping the Royal Navy's attack force develop Lightning capability.

The F-35 armed with the maximum capacity of weapons is known in aviation jargon as "bow mode": each pillar occupied by a weapon and the internal compartment of crowded bombs.

Fully charged, the F-35B can provide 22,000 pounds of destructive and defensive power: air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles and conventional and laser-guided bombs.

If you are trying to imagine a payload of 22,000 pounds... it is the equivalent of the heaviest bomb carried by a World War II Lancaster bomber (the Grand Slam or "earthquake" bomb).

And it is almost three times more than the last attack plane embarked on a UK aircraft carrier, the Harrier GR9, more than a decade ago.

In this case, the specially modified F-35B of the U.S. Navy Integrated Test Force was loaded with a combination of 500-pound Paveway IV laser-guided inert bombs and 1,000-pound inert Paveways in the weapons compartment.

To date, the F-35 have detaculated from the 350-foot mark on deck (approximately aligned with the end of the front island).

Depending on a number of factors (including weather, wind on deck, humidity), a fully charged Lightning may need a full run to the ski jump to take off... which means starting all the way back at the 850-foot mark... not far from the rear end of the cockpit.

It is the first time that a complete preparation has been tested on any of the aircraft carriers. And it is also the first bomb (although inert, practical models) to be launched by aircraft launched from HMS Prince of Wales.

The Captain of Flight Deck Pet Officer 1 John Etherington - who has experience in deck operations on American Nimitz-class aircraft carriers - was the sailor who gave the authorization to the pilots.

"It was impressive to launch the jet, all full of bombs, from the back of the cockpit," he said. “It's exciting to see us pushing the boundaries of UK naval aviation.”

In control of the F-35 in beast mode were the pilots of the U.S. Marine Corps, Major Paul Gucwa, and Lieutenant Colonel Mike Lippert.

This is the fourth time the latter has worked with the UK aircraft carrier force - three times helping HMS Queen Elizabeth develop its Lightning capability, now with the Prince of Wales.

“It is a pleasure to see the continuous progress in operational capacity – there has been undeniable growth and progress,” he said.

“Major Gucwa and I had great pleasure in continuing to expand the combat capability of Britain's largest warship. We were a small part of an immense multifunctional and integrated team that covered every corner of the ship, the mission control rooms of the F-35 ITF and our worldwide partnership with the F-35 Lightning II - all focused on increasing the interoperability and lethality of our frontline fighter."

Periphery Headcanon

Being so heavily inspired by the Fallout series, my Lily is a periphery baby, because it fits into the way I have written my wastelander character. And since My Time seems to me like a Fallout Lite TM, why not mix in some aspects?

I headcanon that a lot of the Peripheries and beyond are pretty much a Wasteland similar to the one in the Fallout universe; with variations in climate.

Radiation and chemical mutations are a thing, just like we have found in various instances of the game, such as the Shipwreck, the mines in Portia, The Valley of Whispers, the mutant rats and other sentient animals, etc.

The mutated humanoids give me feral ghoul vibes. Sluggish movements, mind is gone, obviously former humans. Those in worksuits also resemble the ghosts in Dead Money.

The surface itself is littered with Old World buildings, that would normally be scavenged like the settled ruins in the Alliance and inhabited locations... but hear me out.

What if everything is so dangerous out there, because it's considered to be the ground zero for whatever calamity has happened? And the chemical leakages were much stronger and concentrated than on (ironically) the Periphery and beyond, aka. the current habited countries.

Would explain the monsters being stronger, bigger, and faster. Doss was literally destroyed by a huge monster from the Periphery, and frontier town Civil Corps have to deal with them from time to time.

Now, hear me out. Isn't it interesting how militarized Duvos is? Or how scientific advanced Vega 5 is, compared to the rest of the world? How comes these two countries are so concentrated with their respective fields, while the rest have a little bit of everything?

Duvos == Enclave. Hear me out. They're both highly militarized. Enclave itself is composed from pre-War military personnel and scientists from whatever is left of the United States government. They have this superior attitude over their own purity and right to govern. They don't believe they're doing anything wrong. They are highly militarized (military bases, Power Armor suits, multi-leveled bunkers, airships), industrialized (self-sustaining bunkers, oil rigs), and are ferocious patriots. Sounds familiar?

Now; let's look at Duvos. Huge empire, seems to uphold Old World Glory ideals, superiority and almost godlike complex, highly militarized and industrialized, access to advanced tech, airships, and gear, military-grade armor and armament, and very very patriotic. I revised some of the Duvos' invasion questline dialogue, and the sense of patriotism is very strong. Fitting.

Vega 5 == Institution. Almost. Since Vega 5 is part of the Alliance, they're not autonomous psychos that kidnap surface dwellers for experiments and entertainment. But they are both: fairly secluded, science oriented, studying different fields, have a ferocious military power (considering the Alliance could only push back against Duvos when Vega 5 lended their expertise), curious by nature, pragmatic, focused on bettering the human race above all, competitive, cold on average.

For those that are not familiar with the Institution; the Old World scientists that hid in the bunker between the Institute of Technology, slowly started to dig and work away, keeping up with their research even two centuries after the war. See? They were also hidden in bunkers.

The My Time history page also suggests that the humans were driven underground after the Age of Calamity started. But they were highly advanced tech-wise... wouldn't it make sense that they hid in bunkers, and not caves?

You can see where I'm going with this, right?? Hear me out. What if the settlers of Duvos, and the settlers of Vega 5, were old military and science personnel that used to inhabit the various bunkers scattered across the Periphery and beyond. What if, due to various reasons, they left and went on their merry way. What if, in some cases, they were forced outside by the life support system of the bunkers collapsing.

Now, I guess in some cases, they didn't get along and just shot each other to death. But some could have just wanted to restore the Old World, while others only cared about bettering the human race. Some didn't agree with each other, and simply split up. Others just headed towards the newly formed Alliance, to aid them with their technical knowledge.

I also headcanon that some of the bunkers exist. Lily was born in Year 76, and for the first few years of her life, she inhabited such a bunker, before the life support system failed on them. Maybe the water chip broke (heh). But her parents wanted to join trading caravans and aid the settlers as Wasteland Scientists; while her uncle and his family headed for Vega 5, aided by a search party. Or by a Monster Hunting guild team. Something.

That's why Lily's cousin is a Vega 5 researcher, and she's an angry bounty hunter.

I also headcanon that civilization wise; there are camps, inhabited ruins by small groups of people, Monster Hunting guild outposts, trading caravans, groups of prospectors and scavengers; bandit camps, fugitives, outlaws, and many mercenaries that grew up here and migrated towards Duvos, Ethea, or the Alliance, to earn a better living as hired guns and bounty hunters.

It's unforgiving as heck.

Makes you wonder how Wei survived for so long and seems so happy and upbeat.

So I found my Shot Show 2024 gun...

First, you should know that the situation in Israel is heating up and getting more complex by the moment. You won't hear this on the news because our media has been gagged since 1902 thanks to the British Pilgrim's Society.

Israel targeted the Iranian embassy compound in Syria, lobbed missiles at it, and killed Iranians. This is, whether you know it or not, an Act of War. It puts Israel firmly in the aggressor seat and whatever Iran does to retaliate, Israelis have to accept the fact that they are suffering because of the acts of their own government.

In the last week, numerous groups throughout the Middle East have been meeting. The entire Arab population is scandalized by the extent and the ferocity of the genocide and destruction poured down on the innocent civilian population of Gaza, using a British-funded and Netanyahu-expedited Hamas attack as the Israeli excuse for this.

What has happened in Gaza would be like turning the entire U.S. Military loose on New York City with unlimited armament short of nuclear weapons, and letting it pound New York into the dirt for months.

What defense would New York City have? The same defense that Gaza has. None. It would just slowly disappear under the weight of the bombing and missiles and artillery fire, until nothing and nobody was left.

That's what you've got going on in Gaza, and frankly, the "dumb" uninformed Americans notwithstanding, that is what the rest of the world sees.

No wonder the entire Muslim world is inflamed and taking the bait to fight.

Right behind the Arab States are the Russians and Chinese, who are all allied together -- the Iranians and Russians by their pacts, and the Chinese and Russians allied by their treaties and agreements.

And here is the stellar point --- they are all on the moral high ground. We and NATO are on the wrong side of the issues, because it can never be acceptable for a massive military force to attack an unarmed civilian population and to do it in such a purposeful, blatant, prolonged, and reckless way.

The Israelis have become what they hate. Their fear and their focus on self-protection has morphed into gross, mindless aggression against Gaza, and now, they have Russian tanks on the Golan Heights.

Somehow, they seem to assume that they can get away with this genocide and their stubborn refusal to relent, just as they thought they could target the Iranian Embassy in Syria without consequence.

The concept of what happens on the school ground when a bully is beaten up by a bigger bully has not sunk in. They obviously think that the British Crown Corporation is going to come save their State of Israel, Inc. franchise, no matter what gross crimes and acts of violence Israel commits....

But the British Crown Corp. had no business creating a State of Israel, Inc. franchise, and the British Government had no right to sell Jacob Rothschild a 99-year lease on Israel under the Balfour Declaration. All this crooked dealing on the part of Britain is now becoming public knowledge and coming home to roost.

No doubt, that's why MI6 armed and paid Hamas -- a smokescreen to "get something started" as if attacking the Iranian Embassy compound was not enough.

I am disgusted to say that the Vermin are cruising for a bruising on purpose. They are creating a crisis deliberately to distract from and obscure their own criminality. The entire economic and financial meltdown is similarly self-generated and cynical.

Israel was not the victim in the Hamas attack. Israel was looking for an excuse to attack Gaza and Britain provided Hamas with the means to provide that excuse and Netanyahu let down Israeli border defenses to expedite it. The whole thing is vicious and calculated and timed to promote the Do It Yourself Armageddon scenario that the Office of the Roman Pontiff and HRE have long planned.

Let's all keep our eyes and ears alert and realize that the Perpetrators --- the ones really responsible, are the same Perpetrators who have run rampant for the past three hundred years: Rome, Britain, and "Westminster"--- the Inner City of London British Crown Cartel.

These "Principals and Powers" are the ones on the Low Road, the cause of it all, and the ones who deserve universal condemnation, if not outright and permanent destruction for their criminal activities and constant acts of war and war-mongering and war-for-profit schemes, for their refusal to give up their illegal and repugnant Caste System, and the peonage and enslavement that keeps it going.

The rest of us have moved on and are ready for something better. And here they are, putting on the biggest "show" ever, their own mass-produced end of the world event, complete with self-engineered fulfillment of Bible prophecy.

They should be ashamed and we should all shame them in public for it. Life and death are not a game and we are not pawns set up to be their gullible audience.

If you are not all deeply offended by what is going on in Gaza, you should be. And even if the planned Great Earthquake isn't pulled off, for fear of permanently damaging the biome, we should all just stay home, and say, "No!" to the best of our ability.

Operation Hailstone (Japanese: トラック島空襲, romanized: Torakku-tō Kūshū, lit. 'airstrike on Truk Island'), 17–18 February 1944, was a massive United States Navy air and surface attack on Truk Lagoon, conducted as part of the American offensive drive against the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) through the Central Pacific Ocean during World War II.

Prior to Hailstone, the IJN had used Truk as an anchorage for its large Combined Fleet. The coral atoll surrounding Truk's islands created a safe harbor, where the few points of ingress and egress had been fortified by the Japanese with shore batteries, antiaircraft guns, and airfields.

American estimates of Truk's defenses and its role as a stronghold of the Japanese Navy led newspapers and military men to call it the "Gibraltar of the Pacific", or to compare it with Pearl Harbor. Truk's location in the Caroline Islands also made it an excellent shipping hub for armaments and aircraft moving from Japan's home islands down through the South Seas Mandate and into the Japanese "Southern Resources Area".

By early 1944, Truk was increasingly unsustainable as a forward base of operations for the Japanese. To the west, American and Australian forces under General Douglas MacArthur had moved up through the Southwest Pacific, isolating or overrunning many Japanese strong points as part of Operation Cartwheel. The U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Army, under the command of Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, had overrun the most important islands in the nearby Gilbert Islands and Marshall Islands, and then built numerous air bases there.

As a result, the Japanese Navy had to relocate the Combined Fleet's forward base to the Palau Islands, and eventually to Indonesia, and the fleet had begun clearing its major warships – carriers, battleships, and heavy cruisers – out of Truk before the Hailstone attack struck.

Nevertheless, the Hailstone attack on Truk caught a good number of Japanese auxiliary ships and cargo ships in the harbor, as well as some smaller warships. Between the air attacks and surface-ship attacks over the two days of Hailstone, the worst blow against the Japanese was about 250 warplanes destroyed, with the concurrent loss of irreplaceable experienced pilots, and 17,000 tons of stored fuel.  Also, about 40 ships – two light cruisers, four destroyers, nine auxiliary ships, and about two dozen cargo vessels – were sunk.

Considerable damage was inflicted on the various island bases, including dockyards, communications centers, supply dumps, and its submarine base. Truk remained effectively isolated for the remainder of the war, cut off and surrounded by the American island-hopping campaign in the Central Pacific, which also bypassed important Japanese garrisons and airfields in the Bismarck Archipelago, the Caroline Islands, the Marshalls, and the Palaus. Meanwhile, the Americans built new bases from scratch at places including the Admiralty Islands, Majuro, and Ulithi Atoll, and took over the major port at Guam.

Washington has warned Tehran that it “won't be able to hold Israel back” if the Islamic Republic retaliates to Tel Aviv’s attack against a number of Iranian military sites last month, US and Israeli officials told Axios on 2 November. 

"We told the Iranians: We won't be able to hold Israel back, and we won't be able to make sure that the next attack will be calibrated and targeted as the previous one," the US official told the outlet. 

The report claims the message was passed along via Switzerland. Iran and the US have not commented.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei warned on the same day that Israel will receive a “tooth-breaking” response for its actions against the Islamic Republic ��and the rest of the resistance front.”

“We will do whatever is necessary in confronting arrogance, whether in terms of military and armament or politically. The Iranian people and officials will never hesitate in facing global arrogance and the criminal apparatus ruling the world order,” the Supreme Leader went on to say. 

“The issue is not just about revenge, but rather acting with logic and confrontation consistent with religion, ethics, Sharia, and international laws. The issue is confronting international injustice, and for the Iranian people, confronting oppression and arrogance is a mandatory duty,” he added. 

The head of Khamenei’s office also vowed that Tehran’s response “will be severe, and the enemy will regret it.” 

The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said late last month that the consequences of Israel’s attack would be “bitter and unimaginable.”

În schimb, capabilitatea militară presupune un ansamblu de abilități prin care se poate asigura exploatarea capacităților militare (de luptă) în scopul îndeplinirii unei misiuni și/sau atingerii unui obiectiv. De asemenea, puterea militară a unui actor statal rezultă și din bugetul alocat forțelor armate sau eficacitatea industriei sale de apărare. Forțele Armate ale unei țări au, în primul rând, un rol de descurajare a unui potențial adversar (actor statal sau non-statal - grupări de gherilă sau insurgență), pentru a preveni un scenariu de insecuritate pentru cetățeni. Pentru a asigura această stabilitate militară, o țară are nevoie de o armată puternică, pe cele două planuri: capacități militare și capabilități robuste de apărare. În acest context, numărul de forțe și mijloace pe care un stat le are la dispoziție sunt vitale. Este nevoie de militari profesioniști, de interoperabilitatea forțelor, dar și de o rezervă operațională puternică, înzestrată cu armament de ultimă generației. Dacă ne referim la armamentul și tehnica din dotarea unităților luptătoare, aici intervine rolul industriei naționale de apărare. În cadrul unei armate moderne, forțele de rezervă pot avea un rol esențial și anume acela de a asigura completarea unităților constituite la mobilizare. Totodată, aceste forțe de rezervă pot fi folosite și pentru regenerarea unităților și/sau marilor unități care desfășoară misiuni de luptă alături de forțe militare active sau contribuie la gestionarea unei situații de criză. Pentru a forma o rezervă puternică, un actor statal poate să-și încurajeze cetățenii să urmeze o formă de pregătire militară bazată pe voluntariat, mai ales că armata sau mediul militar pot dezvolta abilități și calități personale care sunt utile și în viața civilă. Lockheed Martin will integrate AARGM-ER missile into F-35 aircraft

On January 12, NAVAIR (Naval Air Systems Command), on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense, signed a $97.3 million contract for the integration of the Northrop Grumman AGM-88G AARGM-ER (Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile-Extended Range) missile with the F-35A/B/C Lightning II multifunctional fighters family.

The contract, scheduled to be completed in March 2026, will be executed by the U.S. Air Force (F-35A), the U.S. Marine Corps (F-35B and F-35C), the U.S. Navy (F-35C) and partners of the F-35 JSF program, including Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Norway, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands and other users of the 17º aircraft production batch.

'Lot 17' is a designation given to the last portion of F-35 aircraft produced. The U.S. Department of Defense finalized an agreement for production in December 2022.

This 'lot' includes 126 aircraft that will be the first iteration to include the Technical Refresh-3 (TR-3) update, the modernized hardware needed to power the capabilities of Block 4. The TR-3 includes a new integrated central processor with greater computing power, a panoramic display in the cabin and an improved memory unit.

Previously, the AGM-88G AARGM-ER missiles were integrated with electronic war and air defense suppression aircraft F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler, with flight tests carried out in 2021 and 2022. On September 25, 2023, Northrop Grumman announced that it was selected by USAF to supply the new anti-radiation missile for the F-35A under the codename SiAW (Stand-in Attack Weapon), based on the AGM-88G AARGM-ER project.

The AARGM-ER was designed for enemy air defense suppression (SEAD) operations, capable of attacking anti-aircraft and missile systems, ballistic and cruise missile launchers, GPS interference systems and anti-satellite systems in strongly defended areas and negation environments (A2/AD). The missile features a new 290 mm diameter fuselage and a subsonic ramjet engine, doubling its range from 110 to approximately 220-250 km and increasing its maximum speed.

The AGM-88G AARGM-ER missiles are produced with a new propulsion and improved warhead set, based on newly produced orientation systems comprising a passive radar signal receiver, satellite navigation, counting system and millimeter wave radar. This differs from the AGM-88E AARGM, where propulsion and warhead are derived from AGM-88 HARM (high-speed anti-radiation missiles) stored missiles from the previous generation.

In January 2018, the U.S. Navy hired Northrop Grumman to develop the AARGM-ER. On March 18, 2019, the USAF announced collaboration with the U.S. Navy to adapt the AARGM-ER for the F-35A, allocating $163 million for fiscal year 2020. At the same time, the U.S. Navy ordered additional development for $323 million, with funding allocated until 2020.

In July 2019, the Department of Defense granted Lockheed Martin a $34.7 million contract to initiate modifications to the F-35's internal weapon compartments to transport the AARGM-ER. The work, including the reinforcement of the fuselage structures, was completed in July 2022. The design and integration efforts are supervised by the PMA-242 (Direct and Time Sensitive Attack) office of the Department of Defense.
