I can understand many things...but the only thing I will never get is why on earth do people hate selfcest. Like, there is nothing wrong with it, at all. Is it weird? Yeah. Is it harmful ? Absolutely not. That's litterally self love and a character loving another version of themself is a pretty good thing that doesn't hurt anyone. Even if it could be bad in real life somehoe (which it wouldn't even be), it litterally can't exist in real life and can't be problematic and harmful ship dynamic in general, at least bc it doesn't exist in real life, unlike some actually problematic dynamics

It's just an interesting consept and I will never get why do people hate it. Just bc It's unusual, doesn't mean It's bad??

I can't even call myself a selfcest shipper, there like only few ships like that I like and my favourite one is litterally oc. But in theory, It's not a bad thing. Especially for characters with npd it could be a good experience and probably one of the ways to get a healthy relationship with someone (like Sylki or Alastorcest (especially considering that Vivien herself said smth like "Alastor wouldn't date anyone, bc he can't love anyone more than himself")).

As someone with npd (I don't know if it defines anything tho), I do love this idea in general and find the whole "love yourself" and "find someone the same as me" actually good and possibly the best that can be imagined, so these people who for some reason are trying to make it look bad, gross, problematic and etc really annoy me, bc what can be more consensual and healthy than being with yourself, the only person who fully understands you and knows you better than everyone, basically knows everything about you and fits you perfectly? I genuinely don't understand how can people hate it, bc to me it seems like the least problematic ship dynamic exist

Especially in the verse where Undertale was one of the most popular fandoms

Ok so their dynamic is sure to be amazing in the next movie cause they've confirmed that 42 (the nickname for Miles of the Earth 42) is a vigilante that yeah gets his hands dirty but he does so with noble intentions like helping ppl (there's a short bare bones animation video of him and his Uncle Aaron stealing some medical supplies to deliver to his mom at the hospital, it's official and you can find it on yt!), so he will eventually end up heping Miles!

But beside what will happen in canon, it's just SO interesting as a concept! Because our Miles is Spider-Man thanks to the spider that should've bitten 42! They're so intertwined UGH and I love to explore the guilt Miles might experience at the realisation that 42's world is a mess because there's no Spider-Man there to protect it. And whilst it's NOT his fault that some scientist inadvertently stole the radioactive spider, he sooo would not be able to be rational and objective about it at first and I'm pretty sure that would piss off 42 cause what is done is done and he doesn't need any pity from him AND YEAH I MIGHT BE WRITING THE PLOT OF MY LONG FIC/CHARACTER STUDY RN BUT I'M RIGHT OK?!

Also there's a tiny detail that makes me go FERAL (as if I was normal before): on Earth 1610 there was already a Spider-Man aka that world's Peter Parker so HE had the predestined Gwen and MJ, NOT Miles. On the other hand, 42 never became Spider-Man so he doesn't get those either but his middle name is Gonzalo, making him Miles Gonzalo aka MG and MG sounds a lot like MJ, also being only three letters off the mark and WHAT BETTER PAIR IF NOT THE ANOMALY SPIDER-MAN WITH THE NOT-QUITE MJ? CRAZY FERAL PULLING MY HAIR I'M TELLING YOU AAAGHHHH.

Bonus think that I like to hc is that while Miles got to be a tall beanpole cause the powers didn't require him any sort of training, 42 had to do it, A LOT in order to become the new Prowler and do all the absurd tricks without any shred of superpower and I like to think him short and buff because I love size differences and a shorter top eheheheheh

I'm sorry to hear that. You were one of the best miles blogs on here but unfortunately fandoms esp the spiderverse one are extremely toxic and people go on power trips and send witch hunts after ppl minding their business. Fandoms aren't fun anymore because there's certain people who are miserable and want to make everyone else as miserable as they are or who expect people to bend to their whims on how their interact with with content. That's probably why there's like...nothing new in the tags because everyone got discouraged bcause certain individuals will find a problem with their content and harass them

I made a whole post on how I think the toxicity made everyone stop posting. It went from fun little silly fics and people just sharing with each other, to completely left field and restrictive and pulling shit out of our asses to be “right” just because you didn’t like something someone you’ll probably never ever meet or play any role in your real life posted, said, did. We’re mad and outraged because someone made a story you didn’t like, “omg how dare they do something you don’t like.” Like be so fr 🤣🤣

I’ve always stressed how important it is to let people just be creative in stories because it’s just that A STORY.

I think it’s so important to create spaces on the internet that are for us and to leave people tf alone. Blocking , filtering, scrolling. It’s healthier for you and others less clashing. It’s a lot of fan art/stories in the ATSV fandom that I don’t like,(e.g Milecest.) I don’t actively seek it out or interact, post about it. I mind my mf business 😂😂 as I should cause there are people who weirdly like it and there’s literally nothing I can do about it

But I think that happens a lot with internet culture. Likes, comments interactions trigger dopamine that they don’t get from REAL LIFE, experiences, the internet rewards bad behavior and bullying that they like to mask as being “right”.

I’ve also noticed that a lot of people don’t have actual friend groups outside of the internet so in an effort to feel like they belong, they’ll go with whatever.

In conclusion I should also stop being emotional and overthinking stuff and letting a little outside noise affect me personally. This is my personal page, that I can post whatever I’d like on it. Spiderverse, Pjo, ATLA. And it makes me happy and I love to interact with everyone who’s just as excited as I am to talk about our interest and hyper fixations.
