Mila was extremely extremely gloomy on Monday (her tail was tucked between her legs, she barely barked when normally she barks all day, she wasn't following any of us around) & also yelped whenever we touched her left front leg which explained why she hadn't jumped on any of our beds OR the couch at all. & obviously we all got really worried & my sister took her to the vet this morning w/ help from her bf & the vet told them they couldn't find anything glaringly wrong w/ her, still they gave her a few vaccines & some prescription medicine ....

anyways my mom was trying to feed her the pill and really not succeeding cause Mila would start chewing it or just spit it out & I told her to just let me try (which she was adverse to cause I mostly annoy Mila or play w/ her so she probably sees me as another dog rather than yknow. a Human that she listens to) so she did and it took me a little bit of work to open her snout but as soon as I did I just put what was left of the pill on the back of her gums, pushed it a little bit & held her snout shut immediately and then we heard a loud gulp like YAAAAY!!!!!!

Mila had managed to get herself into some random conversations with party goers here and there. She felt bad because she knew that by tomorrow morning their names would probably become nothing but a blur. Not because she was drunk, she hadn't yet drunk a thing, but because everything felt like some lucid dream right now. In her defense there were so many people that she could not possibly see how anyone was expected to remember anyone's names. Feeling a tad overwhelmed, she decides to find a secluded spot to stand in and momentairly hide from people. While on her search, Mila does manage to get her hands on a drink. She figures it would probably help to have at least one, maybe she'd feel a little more relaxed.

After what feels like a lifetime of swimming through and endless sea of people, Mila finally finds a spot off towards the back of the pool area. She comes up next to another person, offering an apologetic smile right off the bat. "Can I please hang out here with you? We can stand in silence, if you'd like. It's just..." she turns to look at everyone from their spot, "...overwhelming out there."

after the doping scandal, mila was banned from figure skating competitively for several years, and was stripped of many of her medals and awards. one of the reasons her family left russia was due to the harassment and guilt her family faced in the aftermath.

she was just sixteen though, and afterwards, at eighteen, mila was told that she shouldn't competitively skate ever again due to her frail health, caused by intense training for years and years. she feels terrible knowing that her biggest embarrassment is on the internet for anyone to see, even to this day.
