hi! just wanted to ask what IS vocaloid bc u post about it sometimes and im glad your enjoying it but i keep trying to figure out what it is andvim very confused is it a song? a game?? ??? thanks
oh my god i just lost several paragraphs. i’m redoing this but shorter. maybe thats better tho cuz i went full autism
vocaloid -> singing synthesizer by yamaha. colloquial term, at least in the west, for other singing synths as well, like utau (free vocaloid, usually gives characters attached to voices more personality), cevio, synthv, etc
games? -> they exist! most are attached to crypton, who made the world famous virtual idol miku. usually the first one people know and the most recognizable. my grandma could recognize her (my mom can recognize len really easily cuz he’s my fave) (see my profile pic, at least at the time of posting this)
^ miku
the games are project diva, mirai, and sekai (this is the only mobile one and i am ADDICTED). there’s also a crappy gumi game and a decent ia game
other popular vocaloids besides cryptons (which are miku, luka, meiko, kaito, rin&len) -> flower, ia (who’s been moved to cevio i think) (adding this detail as if crypton hasnt made their own program and their characters arent technically vocaloids anymore), gumi, fukase is a popular fan favorite but yamaha has weird licensing stuff so there arent all that many original songs, especially not popular ones :(
vsinger is also cool and pretty popular and also deserves more western recognition! they gave most of their characters full backgrounds -> https://vocaloid.fandom.com/wiki/Zhiyu_Moke
also they made a ~12 minute long anime series
youtube
talkloids -> making them talk and it’s pretty popular on youtube but a lot of new ones are unfunny and i don’t rly like the popular fanon depiction of a lot of vocaloids
mmd/miku miku dance -> freeware cg animation software and is used for nico nico cho parties, also nnd parties are really cool cuz most vocaloid concerts are only singers from one company, this one has multiple and also utaus!
classic era producers -> hachi, ryo, livetune, wowaka (rip), deco*27 (still putting out vocaloid music), dixie flatline, pinocchio-p (also putting out vocaloid still), im probably forgetting some. all of these have at least two songs in project diva
my personal faves -> siinamota (rip), kinoshita, lamaze-p, nashimoto-p, sasanomaly, balloon, abu-se, daniwell-p
there are english vocaloids and plenty of the vocaloids i’ve mentioned above have english voicebanks but idr listen to english vocaloid a lot :p i like riproducer and ghost and pals tho! fukase gumi and yohioloid have good eng banks
character items -> usually fan decided and also usually food. has fallen out of fashion :( was mostly a v2 and utau thing. spring onions -> miku, oranges -> rin, bananas -> len, road rollers -> rin AND len, ice cream -> kaito, alcohol -> meiko, tuna -> luka, carrots? -> gumi, eggplant -> gakupo, french bread -> teto, coffee mill -> ruko, peaches -> momo (nyan cat), i KNOW that SOMEONE has a traffic light fetish, yes specifically a FETISH, i forgot who though
utatane piko -> deserves better and also my favorite (also sf-a2 miki, who is NOT stuck in v2 hell, was supposed to be like, a package deal thing like rin&len, or the meikas, or kiyoteru&yuki, but nooo they got split to different companies. im bitter about this)
meme squad -> dumb phrase for a trend in talkloids that seems to have started in 2016 (fukases release) and went into full swing around 2018. fukase, flower, piko, oliver, and sometimes len, usually as a scapegoat (which im :/ about). as much as i tend to dislike a lot of talkloids, i do like them all being friends. sometimes moke is there too because of the popular fan comic/ask blog love electric/vocalads!
also yeah nyan cat was a song originally sung by miku, made by daniwell, the one everyone KNOWS however, is sung by the utau momone momo. i love telling normal people this.
meta songs -> a lot of old vocaloid songs are them singing about being vocaloids and its cute and we need to bring it back :] but also it’s good we started making other songs, thank you ryo for helping kickstart that (there’s a video about this somewhere. i dont wanna risk losing my paragraphs again so i cant help :( soz).
usually when im posting abt vocaloid it’s about the characters or specific songs :]
I had absolutely no idea what to do for 3K so here is this :) Also sorry this is a bit short, I haven’t had a lot of time to read lately. But it’ll be updated!

ISML 2020: Mikoto Misaka Wins Emerald Necklace
Touma Kamijou Takes Emerald Pendant, Index Completes Sweep With Bracelet
By Jo-Ryan Salazar
The Bedlam On Baltic Avenue
December 1, 2020
On the heels of an update to its version, the Bedlam on Baltic Avenue hit a home run calling the winners of the Emerald Necklace, Pendant and Bracelet matches. You know the name, you know the legend. Winning necklaces is nothing new for Mikoto Misaka. In her bid for a historic reelection as Saimoe Prime Minister, the Railgun could do no wrong in her 4959-2490 rout of Mai Sakurajima. Yui Yuigahama was third with 1714 votes, Mashiro Shiina has 1297 votes, Rikka Takanashi had 954 votes, Rin Tohsaka had 847 votes, Ai Hayasaka had 563 votes and Misaki Shokuhou was last with 475 votes.
Misaka's presumptive partner, Touma Kamijou, finally got his pendant, winning the closest race of the round, a 4075-4034 nailbiter over Rintarou Okabe to secure the Emerald Pendant. Sakuta Azusagawa was third with 1964 votes, Yuuta Togashi was fourth with 1201 votes, Kiyotaka Ayanokouji had 963 votes to finish fifth, Shirou Emiya had 854 votes to finish sixth, Subaru Natsuki came in seventh with 576 votes and Yuzuru Otonashi was dead last with 537 votes.
Completing a signature ToAru Party sweep was Index Librorum Prohibitorum, putting the boots on loli peer Schwi Dola 4997-3410 to lay claim to the Emerald Bracelet. Iroha Isshiki was third with 2115 votes, Chika Fujiwara was fourth with 1401 votes, Eriri Spencer Sawamura was fifth with 906 votes, Nanami Aoyama was sixth with 797 votes, Utaha Kasumigaoka was seventh with 702 votes and Hina Amano was last with 544 votes.
Denied of his chance at glory the last period, Lancer, listed as a 40-1 longshot, delivered the Upset of the Round, albeit a 3919-3307 win over a dark horse in 20-1 Takashi Natsume. Kazuma Satou was third with 2053 votes, Ryuuji Takasu was fourth with 1527 votes, Saitama was fifth with 1236 votes, Yuu Otosaka was sixth with 1003 votes, Shido Itsuka was a disappointing seventh with 808 votes and Tanjiro Kamado was a flat-out embarassing last place with 738 votes in what was a shocker for the favorites as listed by the Bedlam.
Kei Shirogane inched one victory closer to succeeding future sister-in-law Kaguya Shinomiya as Speaker of the Saimoe Diet with a 4660-3315 victory over Chizuru Ichinose. Komachi Hikigaya took the Summer Seasonal four-way race with 3757 votes. Beatrice was second with 3710 votes, Echidna was third with 2159 votes and Shizuka Hiratsuka was last with 1607 votes.
Finally, in what was also considered an upset by way of the predictions, Cirno, one of the most underrated characters in the series, often overlooked by the power tandem of Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame, won the Touhou Project Saimoe Special Seat with a 3445-2538 pasting of Patchouli Knowledge. While this is considered an Upset by the Bedlam on Baltic Avenue, only one is allowed to be designated the Upset of the Round by BoBA and Lancer's victory in the Emerald Ring match carries more weight.
A series of matches involving musicians, singers and idols also took place. Yuuna Shigemura whipped past Ranko Kanzaki 3108-2291, Kanon Nakagawa prevailed over Miki Hoshii 2701-2569, Nodoka Toyohama eased past You Watanabe 3306-2949, Yui-nyan rocked Uzuki Shimamura 3457-2359, Miku Izayoi crushed Yoshiko Tsushima 3329-2577, Kotori Minami thumped Hikari Kagura 3984-1977, Nico Yazawa raced past Ranka Lee 4526-1723 and Arisa Ichigaya shot down Fumika Sagisawa 2552-2433.
Wrapping up Idol action, Sakura Minamoto defeated Miu Takigawa 2831-2387, Maki Nishikino slayed Lisa Imai 3888-2052, Ran Mitake got past Poporon 2870-2522, Honoka Kousaka drubbed Yukina Minato 3672-2342, Sayo Hikawa won a 2641-2526 snoozer over Iori Minase, Tsumugi Kotobuki pounded Chihaya Kisaragi 4389-1980, Rin Shibuya got the only win for Idolm@ster, a 3392-1917 hiding of Maya Tendou and Riko Sakurauchi salvaged a similarly shocking performance from Love Live! Sunshine!! with a 2747-2573 win over Haruka Amami.
The 2020 International Saimoe League Period continues with the Ruby Period. Vote for your favorite characters at InternationalSaimoe.com and join the ongoing debate. And keep it right here on the Bedlam on Baltic Avenue, now updated to Version 222, for continuing coverage of the 2020 International Saimoe League, the world's premier anime character competition.

Japanese cat names

One of the foremost fun parts of selecting your kitty’s new name is learning more about the history of cats in Japan, which is both ancient and interesting!
Without further ado, let’s get to the great stuff – the lists of Japanese cat names!
About Japanese Cat Breeds
The Japanese Bobtail cat is widely considered to be an ancient purebred cat breed that hails from Japan.
While modern genome analysis suggests the breed can also be influenced by felines from China or Korea, the Japanese claim the breed as their own.
The nearby Kuril Islands even have their cat breed, the Kurilian Bobtail cat.
The Kurilian Bobtail looks strikingly almost like the Japanese Bobtail cat – sufficiently so that researchers suspect a shared ancestor.
About Japanese Cat Names
If you're not conversant in the Japanese language, it can feel a touch confusing to navigate initially.
This is because there are three different alphabets wont to write in Japanese: katakana, hiragana, and kanji.
Which alphabet is employed, and whether it's syllabic or symbolic, can affect the Japanese cat names meaning.
If you've got seen equivalent Japanese names meaning cat given different meanings, this is often likely the rationale why.
Short Names are Best
Regardless of which alphabet you employ, you'll notice most Japanese cat names are short.
This will add your favor during training since a team of Japanese researchers recently revealed proof that cats can learn and recognize their names.
Picking a brief, percussive name that sounds unlike common commands or other loved one names (including other pets) will help your new kitty learn his or her name quickly.

so i was looking up the proposal process in ancient china for reasons involving my desperate need for NianLava content and i found out it was common to gift a goose to the family of the woman being proposed to
and now i just have this funny interaction of Nian running up to Lava with a goose with a lil bow on it just handing it to her. Lava bewildered going "thanks. . . i love it..?"
a week later Dusk just pats Lava on the shoulder going "welcome to the family i guess" and Lava just bluescreening
