I've become absolutely feral for SlashFic on Dorian and I can't find anything on A03 for it and idk if Im just stupid or no ones posted anything yet

I keep thinking about a big confession scene for each of the slashers where the MC finally admits that they've caught feelings and it's not just darkness cravings

I can see Leathers being soft but stern. He's def not gonna believe them at first so they gotta be gentle when saying it but insist it's true and they know themselves well enough to know what they feel. Boys heart is made of glass and he's got thick walls around it to protect it. Probably gonna need the chainsaw to get through them.

For ghost it'd probably gotta be snapped/yelled out during a fight, they're toxic that way toward one another. Poking and prodding to get reactions out of one another. Drawing it out of each other like angry teenagers with no outlet. Boy uses sarcasm and humor to defect everything and he's confused about what he really wants. Then he'd scramble to get them to say it again and get mad when they won't.

Jays I could see being soft as well, but like a teaching moment instead of trying to prove it's true like with leather. They're trying to explain how this feeling for them is different than lust or familal love. Might be an actual first for him.

Mike .....I'm stumped kinda on him but I feel like it's more of a stupefied moment for both of them. Like MC just ....blurts it out, mouth diarrhea style and then they're both just staring at each other, neither saying anything until MC finally cracks and freaks out both on the inside and out

50k eddie caputo/mike norris/chucky love triangle slashfic au. tiffany is resolved out of the picture uncharacteristically neatly in the first chapter by striking up a completely bizarre gay relationship with kyle or andy's mom to which the author dedicates three throwaway lines. four times that are used to describe mike norris' headcanoned eye colour. it ends with the opening of a murder themed coffee shop and the irresponsible adoption of andy barclay.

**The Dark Mirror series by sevensided - This is only marked as a WIP because the series itself is not finished; there are two completed long fics here that are both so nicely written. I binged them both in a day. The first one deals with the three month time skip between Starcourt and the Byers’ moving day, and the second one is an AU continuation off of that.

Blow All My Friendships To Sit In Hell With You by chamb3rs - I will never ever shut up about madwheeler friendship. I love it more than anything in this world  and this fic does it so beautifully. Will/Mike exists in this but is much more minor, so it goes in the gen section.

Note To Self: Don’t Be Gay In Indiana by TakingOverMidnight3482 - Really legitimately well-written, in-character, post-canon Will + Robin (and Robin + Steve) friendship. Robin goes on a little rant in this one that I can perfectly hear in Maya Hawke’s voice.

this world of zero by morningofdeparture - Will comes out to Mike and Mike is a sweetheart and a great friend. Just a really lovely short scene of exactly that.

abandoned island, that forgotten memory by morningofdeparture and untilitbreaks - Just some lovely scenes of Will and Mike leaning on each other both literally and emotionally on that long long road trip, with some incredibly good introspection from Will on his queerness.

Resentment Comes In Threes by jastard - technically Will/Mike, but it’s background; this one focuses on Will and El slowly getting to know each other and growing closer as friends and then later as siblings. I love their dynamic so much and this fic gets it right.

the tender things by iphigenias - Will pines on the way back to Hawkins and talks to El about it while Mike is asleep. Short and sweet, featuring some extremely realistic El dialogue especially. This one makes me want to hug Will so bad.

strange (but not a stranger) by heartofwinterfell - Not usually a fan of Eddie Lives fic but I love this one?? Just Eddie being awesome and connecting with everyone in the extended party.

People Watching by frutescence - Jonathan POV, Will coming out to Jonathan. I think this might have been one of the first post-volume 2 fics I found that stuck with me. Really lovely writing from a perspective I don’t usually read.

Blood and Blue Diamonds: Foreword

I started writing an Arcane film noir AU because I wanted to have fun after an angsty Jayvik divorce story by imagining Jayce and Viktor in nice suits, and now I’m writing meta on historically accurate prejudice in fanfiction. Nice going on that one. But here we are.

Anyhow, Arcane is a show with a diverse cast for whom racism, sexism, and homophobia theoretically don’t exist, and Blood and Blue Diamonds is set in 1930s Los Angeles, a city whose mayor was in the KKK. This presents some obvious questions. I really do want this to be fun by my admittedly angst-loving standards, and it’s a fictionalized reflection of real events in the vein of pseudo-historical films like Chinatown* and LA Confidential. I’m not aiming for perfect factual accuracy in League of Legends slashfic.

That said, it felt cheap to retcon central elements of LA history and culture or just… not acknowledge the gender and implicit race or ethnicity of major characters. Arcane is all about power differentials and how people’s social circumstances shape them! In America that means more than class.

My general position is that characters don’t need to hold “period-typical” beliefs, but they can’t break major institutional barriers far ahead of real history. Cait isn’t a rookie beat cop, for instance, because the LAPD cordoned policewomen into specific departments where that wasn’t an option. There’s very little overt on-screen bigotry and no racial/homophobic/sexist slurs, like I’m not Elmore fucking Leonard here, but characters acknowledge and are shaped by prejudice. A Mel that’s a Black woman in the 1930s is going to be a slightly different person than someone from the very top of the social food chain in Arcane, even if she’s still rich and powerful. A Mexican American Jayce and Czech immigrant Viktor don’t fall as neatly into a social hierarchy as Piltover Jayce and Undercity Viktor.

I don’t have a formal background in early-20th-century LA history, so my understanding of it is drawn from journalistic and academic secondary sources, archival newspapers and photographs, and roughly contemporary fiction; there’s a bibliography of books and films that I drew on if you happen to enjoy that kind of thing. From the Arcane side, it’s like a partial post-timeskip arc where Mel is in The Maltese Falcon, Jayce is in Chinatown, and Viktor is in The Big Sleep. True to the conventions of the genre, most people are seedy and possibly criminal. There’s lots of Council slander that’s not meant to reflect their characters in the Arcane universe. At some point I am going to snap and summarize a chapter as “Forget it, Jayce, it’s Chinatown.��

This wasn’t the only way to handle things, but it opened the door to several interesting adaptational challenges, and it felt more true to the best parts of Arcane than mimicking the style of hardboiled period fiction while stripping out its cultural context. I’ll have more specific notes on later chapters, but in general I owe a huge debt to Mike Davis’s City of Quartz, Nathanael West’s The Day of the Locust, the 1930s WPA-commissioned guidebook Los Angeles: A Guide to the City and its Environs, and any film starring Humphrey Bogart.

So anyway, welcome to the most needlessly elaborate fic I’ve ever written: a novel about a lonely bisexual detective and a reckless photographer with a dark past hunting stolen diamonds for a cryptic antiques dealer during the Great Depression and discovering dangerous secrets about the Los Angeles labor movement and the California Water Wars, except everyone is from a Netflix cartoon about League of Legends.

* It pains me to mention Chinatown, because Roman Polanski is an unmitigatedly awful person, but the film influenced me so strongly that I can’t not talk about it.

Ohmygosh I’ve been working on a Ghost headcanon/theory post for a few days but I’ve got some smaller ones to share in the meantime.

So like at first I was thinking of what world events the slashers wouldn’t know about because they died (sort of) and went to the void (?), which has great potential for some hilarious conversations.

Then I realized that all the slashers but Ghost probably wouldn’t even know of things that went on when they were alive, let alone after, because they were all incredibly isolated—especially Mike and Jay. Which is actually super heartbreaking…

Anyways the headcanon is that the slashers are surprisingly clueless, and Ghost has been stuck explaining things for his whole afterlife. Is he exasperated, or does he use it as a chance to mess with them? You decide! I imagine mc would have a lot of fun with this too. Like how do you even begin to explain the /internet/??

I wish I had written down the years they die (assuming that’s when we travel back to). The fact that there is no wiki or info resource for this game is the bane of my existence, I’m thinking of starting to catalogue things on this blog. At the very least, it’s safe to say they know very little/nothing that’s happened from 1998 onward (I don’t think they’re stopping in the middle of murders to check in on the culture).

Anyways I’ll stop writing here because if I keep going I’ll never stop. I’d love to hear any headcanons you have too!
