The "Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits
This anime is good in the sense that we have handsome guys and beautiful girls and yet the characters are complex and it contains lots of pacifist messages. I am happy this gem is recognised as a gem.

Midori One Day One Page 310!
New Theme is Roninmon.... TWO! Because I need to get the Masho some Pokemon too.
Shuten Douji, evil team admin! I chose Kommo-o for him because the scales look a bit like chains, it has the gold trim like the jinbaori on his armor, and best of all Kommo-o's tail is based on a shakujo!

one thing i hoped until the announcement of jjk's ending was that this panel of sukuna and uraume was referencing the tale from harima about 'the oni with cannibalistic tendencies (who is described to have been different from the other oni: [he will come from the gate in the shape of a human. such an oni is not wicked or unjust. he follows a righteous way.])' and the young master who fought him as told in konjaku monogatarishū and it would have a deeper meaning, tying into the concept of rebirth and how his twin ended up being reborn as itadori jin, but now the chances are we will never understand the conditions of rebirth in the world of jjk...
➠ Chapter 257 and Rebirth:
This chapter officially introduced the concept of Rebirth (환생, in which the actions of a sentient being lead to a new existence after death) into the plot of the manga. We can say it has been hinted at before through Jogo and Yuuji’s words for example, but the Rebirth of the soul of Sukuna’s twin officially confirmed it. We do not know the conditions of Rebirth in the world of JJK yet, but it implies the existence of Samsāra (윤회전생) which is the endless cycle of birth, death and rebirth, and it made me think of this illustration:
This illustration is based on the Kalachakra Mandala, which represents the wheel of our lives, and the time we have in this world to make peace with ourselves and achieve Enlightement (freedom from Samsāra). Kalachakra literally translates to ‘cycle of time’ (Kala meaning ‘time’ and Chakra meaning ‘cycle’). It means that everything in nature happens in the ‘cycle of time’.
These four characters being the centre of the above-indicated illustration is not random. Each one of them is in some way bound by the concept of Rebirth (Reincarnation). Chapter 257 gave us a good perspective on how Yuuji, Sukuna and Kenjaku are bound to it (and each other as well), which, considering the ties of the other three, may make it seem like Gojo is out of the equation.
Personally, there could be two interpretations of why Gojo is part of it (besides the simplest explanation that these four are central to the storyline):
1. As Tengen has implied themself before, Tengen, the Star Plasma Vessel, and the Six Eyes are all connected by fate. Through Tengen, we also learn that Kenjaku lost twice to a sorcerer with the Six Eyes, and after the second time taking no chances killed both the Star Plasma Vessel and the Six Eyes less than a month after they were born. We know that there has been a connection between Tengen, Kenjaku and the Six Eyes throughout time. Gojo could be part of the illustration to indicate the recurring existence of the Six Eyes, bound to Tengen’s existence whose relationship with Kenjaku we do not clearly understand yet, but has been as continuous.
Or
2. Drawing on the confirmation that the concept of Rebirth exists in the world of JJK, Gojo being part of this illustration could imply that perhaps the soul of Sukuna’s twin is not the only character who has been Reborn (note: we do not know yet whether Itadori Jin was his twin’s first reincarnation or he died and was reborn multiple times before (however, the way Sukuna says it implies the latter)). We do not know yet what the conditions for Rebirth are (or if they are the same as in Buddhism) or whether the Reborn soul retains anything of their past life, so it is difficult to make the assumption, but it opens up the possibility of Gojo being reincarnation as well, i.e. the Six Eyes are the same soul.
Regardless, the existence of the concept of Rebirth has opened many different (and interesting) possibilities.
#eh... i know i always give akutami gege too much credit but...#it might really be about midori harima's artwork which does not make sense at all.#why would sukuna and uraume know that artwork....... it is just so out of context (yes even with their modern-day vessels).#and sukuna literally says: [back then in harima was (someone or something)] similar to yuuji. regardless them knowing that artwork makes...#no sense...#well it would have been quite interesting to see it develop along the tale but...#i will take what i can get in the remaining four chapters.#(also the characteristic of most oni is that they have cannibalistic tendencies. this does not make the one mentioned in this post any ...)#(...different from the rest).

She spent the whole day playing with Mama.
(translation, Rinkah taught her how to sumo and they wound up destroying their house in the process)
The oni carries her daughter to her room and gently sets Midori down in her bed. She's extra careful, though she's sure with how tuckered out Midori is, she won't wake til tomorrow. Rinkah drapes the blanket over her child and kisses her on her head. "Sweet dreams, my Mighty Midori."

I know I'm late, but I made the mistake of watching "Teen Wolf: The Movie" and I'm in pain. The subtitles don't match, it took me three rewinds to realize the knock-Kira's name is Midori, and I don't get the existence of this movie beyond "how can we reward the worst characters while making Derek suffer for having the nerve to breath." It's so bad.
Like, everyone's character development is undone sans Scott because he's exactly the same as he's always been. They had a decent storyline at the end of season 6 with the supernatural vs human world war and that would've made a good movie, but NOOOO.
They were so obsessed with recreating season 3B while ignoring why it was recognized as the best season of the show's run. They give us this poorly written and horribly edited crock of shit, throw most of their lore in the dumpster and set it on fire. Because SEASON 3B KNOCK OFF!
Like what the actual hell did I watch? How does the Oni sword that killed Allison still exist, it was a SPIRIT SWORD! Why didn't the come up with a better storyline to revive Allison? Like, this whole movie was to bring that murderous nutjob back to life, but it happens by COMPLETE COINCIDENCE / ACCIDENT! NO ONE KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING!!!
And I'm ignoring knock-off Stiles because seriously? Derek having a kid would be interesting IF THE KID WASN'T A TEENAGER AND LOOKED LIKE HIM! In the words of my sister, Derek Hale is "spicy White, they should've gotten a spicy kid or had a Black kid and say he got back with Braeden instead of giving him a Stiles-looking kid."
And WHY did they take scenes to make it about Scott and Allison when it WASNT ABOUT THEM!? The motel scene was such a testimant to Stiles' friendship with Scott (which I viewed as heavily one-sided because Scott has sucked since season 1) and they go "let's make this about Allison."
And the squick of it all because Allison should be A WHOLE SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD???? She wasn't even with Scott when she died and now I'm supposed to be rooting for this?
You wanna know what would've been interesting? Having the nogistune pose as Allison, had it manipulate them (minus useless Jackson) into resurrecting what they think is Allison and is really just a golem for the nogitsine to inhabit! You wanna obsess with the nogitsune so badly, actually write something that MAKES SENSE!
#teen wolf#teen wolf movie#kill me#it was awful#anti teen wolf#this movie sucks#FIRST EVER HALE NOT TO TURN INTO A WEREWOLF?#DEREK HAD HUMAN FAMILY TOO!!!#derek deserves better

Winter 2023 Schedule
Whew, it's been a bit since I posted a schedule! And a lot has changed since then (aka I took a deep dive into the Top Gun fandom, and only rarely come up for air these days).
My schedule for the coming months, in no particular order:
Finish "Red Sky: A Martian Named Maverick." The fact of the matter is that I was so proud of the first chapter, what I've written for the next chapter just... doesn't compare, in my eyes. I need to just finish it / edit it / do something with it.
Do something with all the Top Gun fic snippets and ideas I have. There are so many. (Maybe a poll? Let you guys decide what I focus on?)
Answer prompts! As always, they're a priority for me. And I have a Brambleclaw & Jay+Holly+Lion focused one coming soon! It's with my beta now.
Write more for other promised fics (fox!Firepaw, Midori Oni, and the long Jiang Cheng fic have taken up residence in my head, and refuse to leave or be written).
That's all for now! Look forward to new and updated fics soon (fingers crossed), and in the meantime, a reminder that my inbox is always open for fandom and/or writing discussions!

Midori: Origins of the Ouroboros
Uuuuuuh fhdgsgsh i finished my little lore document for what happened to Midori and how her story continues after. I dont have everything 100% planned out yet, but hopefully the read is good.
To Midori. I hope you will forgive me, one day. For everything.
Back during the time of the FSM, there was a time where the serpentine had not been created, but the Overlord had been defeated. Before his destruction, he swore that the actions of the FSM will only lead to his continued suffering.
The FSM became known for being the creator of Ninjago and its defender, and as towns and civilizations grew, they worshiped and praised the one who made it possible. Whether he intended to or not, he became a figurehead in some. Despite this, he never viewed himself as a deity or royalty, and found himself alone despite being among people.
The oni believed he was weak. The dragons believed he was an abomination. Here, he was a deity. No matter the label given to him, it was hard to believe he even had a place here. That he truly belonged and felt like a person.
That is, until he met Midori.
She was considered, by all means, unimportant. Had a normal upbringing, grew up to own a tea shop and grew her own teas. In her village it was customary for farmers to pay a tribute in hopes of the FSM controlling the weather. She thought it ridiculous, as he never seemed to do so, and confronted him on extorting the locals. In reality, the FSM had never told anyone that he could, and actually didn’t want any offerings or tributes of any sort, but most ignored him.
Both were shocked at meeting each other. Midori couldn’t believe someone of such great power could be so humble, and the FSM was surprised she wasn’t afraid to rebuke him and treat him as a person.
Their meeting should have ended there, but the FSM continued to think about her, and this visited her in her shop in secret to avoid the attention of other villagers. She taught him how to work alongside her in the shop, and as the two began to know each other, they fell in love. Eventually, they decided their relationship would be a secret no longer, as Midori was announced to be the FSM’s wife. Despite the sudden change of status and the regalities bestowed upon her for marrying Ninjago’s creator, she was still the same woman he fell in love with.
Midori was headstrong, honest, hardworking and brazen. What was in her mind she would say no matter with who, and above all else supported the FSM and reminded him to stand up for himself if he did not wish to be treated as a god.
Eventually however, the two sought to have children in peace, and journeyed away from their past home.
As Midori finally gave birth, the two eventually began to interact with civilization a bit more, and for a brief moment, the family was content with their lives, being welcomed by the world, raising two infant children, and with each other. Until one day, Midori wandered far into a nearby forest in search of rare plants/herbs she believed she could find there. During her exploration, she encountered a dark substance nestled into a rock. She did not realized it was a piece of the Overlord’s own body, and as she inspected it, it suddenly became absorbed in her body, and she collapsed. When the FSM finally found her, it was too late. She grew up with a terrible illness no medicine could cure, and he realized she was overtaken by the ancient evil power of his enemy. Unable to fully handle the power of even a sliver of the Overlord’s energy, he knew her body and spirit would undergo a transformation to adapt to it. Despite all of this, he promised his wife a cure, and that he would never leave her side. Midori was hidden in the upper floor of their house, for fear of the dark power hurting their own children, and the FSM’s time was divided by helping Ninjago, raising Wu and Garmadon on his own, keeping Midori company, and looking for answers. But he could not find any, as the Overlord’s power was more potent than anything in Ninjago, and came from a world he could not bring himself to go back to. As he grew more desperate for a solution, he visited Midori less and less, and her condition grew worse. The Overlord’s power evolved to become her own, and Midori became repulsed and horrified as her lower torso grew into a sepert-like tail, and magical venom coursed into her veins. She despised her situation, and despite the FSM’s warning, occasionally left her room to explore and traverse through town hidden away from everyone. But she wasn’t perfect, and eventually the villagers told the FSM of a terrible monster they saw in the woods. The two grew frustrated with each other, and the FSM still had no way of knowing how to cure his wife. He decided to go to the Cloud Kingdom in search of answers. Unfortunately, the prophecy relayed by the Cloud Kingdom could not soothe the FSM’s mind. Instead of Midori being cured, it was predicted that her curse would overtake her and doom their entire family, and future generations, into misery. It was suggested to the FSM that he destroy her and the curse that lives within her, but he vehemently refused, distraught over the woman he loved possibly hurting their sons. Still unable to confront the powers of the Overlord, he realized that he could buy himself and his wife more time to avoid this destiny if she was unable to reach the children if she became fully corrupted. However, he was unable to bring up this plan to her as she became more out of control and furious with him over a lack of a cure. In her mind, she feared he was abandoning him, leaving her to suffer in silence and isolation while he pretended everything was normal. She hadnt even been able to see her kids, and the two were at a standstill. Fearing that the time was near, and having no solutions, the FSM decided to seal her away while she had been sleeping. Unfortunately, she had woken up to see him and assumed he was going to kill her. The two fought, and Midori managed to escape, but not before biting the FSM. Unknowingly, their powers converged, and Midori discovered she had the power to create life, while the FSM felt the Overlord’s power within him, but in a sedentary state. It was then that he realized his powers were slowly being drained for him, as well as his immortality. It was then that a secret battle waged between the FSM and Midori. She created the Serpentine to serve as mindless minions to destroy the world the FSM created, only for him to intervene and prevent disaster, as she once again fled. In the aftermath, he did not want to destroy Midori’s creations, as he still felt fondness for his wife and did not want to destroy these living beings. He instead lied to them that he was their creator, in hopes they’d be unshackled by their shallow purpose in life to destroy, and could live in harmony in this world. However, he could not stop the fighting between Serpentine and Human, and when they sepeparated, could only hope keeping to themselves would still offer some sort of peace. However, he would not live long enough to see that peace. He never told his sons about his hidden ailment, as he fought to keep it at bay and not show that his powers were being drained from him. He still managed to live for hundreds of years, but as his life started to fade, and unable to find Midori, he sought refuge in once again, another prophecy. And he learned that his power would not be fully destroyed, but inherited in it’s full potential by someone. That person would have the key to either repairing the broken bonds of the world, or destroying them entirely. Eventually, he gave in to his illness, and passed away. He did not let them see it, but he was terrified of the world he was leaving to his sons and his creations. How his mistakes and decisions led to possible endless conflicts, and how he yearned for his wife to return somehow, but afraid of what she would do to their family. Midori, after her failed attempt to weaponize the Serpentine, still interfered in their lives, creating the Great Devourer, sending false prophecies and inciting further conflict in the shadows. She had to wait not just until her husband's passing, but also observe her family and Ninjago to wait for the perfect opportunity to strike. While the FSM believed in destiny, she believed the only predetermined thing was cycles; that everything was bound to repeat itself. That the misery she had undergone would be paid tenfold, that the conflicts of her and her beloved would echo in the conflict between human and serpentine, and break the bonds their family had so briefly. So she had no qualms with creating the snake that would eventually attack her own son, or watching and the Green Ninja, the inheritor of the combined powers of the FSM, suffer through the burden of his destiny and the events that followed. However, her hatred never became satiated, and she still wallowed in the loss of the life she once had. And suddenly, she had a plan. One that would be the ultimate revenge upon the FSM and grant her the life she so desired. In her eyes, the snake would continue to eat itself, and she was going to let that cycle destroy her grandson. He would be the key to her husband’s eternal punishment.

I was the anon who sent the masked ninja au. I had this idea of making a banner based on the people the ninjas are protecting as a banner all them dressed as either nobility or shrine maiden. The dou is midori and mozu, the two five stars are nino and mist while the four star is selkie. I dealt with the tempest trial issue for the fox ninja. The fox ninja would be gaius as he has orange and black fox mask. The four star is orange oni asugi. The tempest trial for the girls would be Olivia. The reason why is explained like this. Jaffar and Nino are close. Midori is Kaze's daughter. Volke and Mist is explained that Volke is important to Greil and tasked him with protecting his daughter mist. Mozu and Saizo what is the connection. I thought they were a couple and went with it. The reason why Mozu was chosen. I chose who would saizo marry. I looked up Saizo's potential marriage candidates and removed anyone who is revelations only or has a duo/harmonized version. This leaves Felicia, Mozu, Rinkah, Hana, Setsuna and Oboro. I looked at the possible candidates and chose who do you think out of these options who do you think would have a silent protector. I chose Mozu. Similar thing happened with gaius so Olivia was chosen but maribelle could be another option. Asugi had a similar thought but I removed any avatars so I had Caeldori, rhajat, mitama and selkie as the choices. I removed mitama as it would not change her design. I thought selkie and asugi would be a good idea as they could create an interesting dynamic.
Wow this is quite a list Anon ! Seems like you are really inspired !

Perhaps not t he RWYST character you expected to see in a stars/space week.... but the fact of the matter is Kayura rules. Perhaps ballistic attacks are unique to bearers and not armors, and she still uses a version of this as Oni's bearer....

https://archiveofourown.org/works/50133856 by Kira_Dattei The Devas have been attacked. Many are dead and the entire organization is in a state of emergency. While I’m archiving Hizamaru and Higekiri, I can give y’all a couple of fun facts (read: mini history lesson) about both of them.
I may have mentioned it before, but the sword Hizamaru is based on is not currently named Hizamaru, but Usu-midori/Usumidori, which means “light green” (maybe this is the reason why his hair is light green?). The sword’s current location isn’t exactly clear, either. From the little bit of research I’ve done, it seems to have just kinda disappeared after a while of changing hands?
Higekiri is currently still named Higekiri, but it’s not the first time it was named that. Actually, there were 3 other names in between.
Both of them were renamed several times (and this is probably the reason Higekiri never seems to remember Hizamaru’s name).
Hizamaru’s line of names were: Makuragami (”at the cushion”, supposedly in honor of the “honesty” of his smith*), Hizamaru (”Knee cutter”, the name we know in game), Kumokiri-maru (”spider cutter”/”spider slayer”, for killing a tsuchikumo, which is something he mentions in one of his Toku messages), Hoemaru (”howler”, because the sword apparently once made sounds like a snake?), and finally Usu-midori (which was because it reminded its owner of the green shining lights of a particular mountain).
Higekiri’s line of names were: Sun-nashi (”no/missing sun”, which was for the 3 missing sun of length*), Tomokiri (”equal cutter”, from where it cut the “extra” 3 sun off the other sword*), Higekiri (”beard cutter”, from when it cut the head of a criminal off so fast his beard was cut as well and the name we know in game), Onimaru (”demon/oni cutter”, for cutting the arm off an oni), Shishi-no-ko (”lion cub”, because it once...roared like a lion? This happened during the same event that got Hizamaru renamed Hoemaru, so I think someone was on some good drugs that day), Tomokiri again (this time it comes from when someone commissioned an exact copy of Shishi-no-ko and it came out to be 2 bu (like 6mm or something?) longer and it took the initiative to cut off the extra amount from the copy), and finally we return to Higekiri again(its owner had a dream that changing the names of the swords a bunch of times weakened the power of them, so he...changed its name. Again.)
*According to legend, 2 smiths were given 2 equal halves of a particular blade (I think a Chinese spear or lance?) and asked to reforge them into swords. When they came back, Makuragami’s smith had forged a sword that was 3 shaku (a little under 91 cm, I think?) and Sun-nashi’s smith had forged one that was 2 shaku, 7 sun (almost 82cm?), which meant there were 3 sun of missing metal. As such, Makuragami was given the place by the emperor’s cushion for its smith’s honesty, and Sun-nashi was literally named after the supposedly missing sun. Later, Sun-nashi heard the prayers of its now-imprisoned smith and cut 3 sun off Makuragami.
