Herein, we discuss silica exposure and the risk of ANCA‐associated vasculitis (AAV), particularly in terms of work‐related diseases.
Silica exposure is a notorious risk factor for developing AAV, which is potentially lethal when not identified.
Microscopic polyangiitis (MPA) is a primary systemic vasculitis commonly known as antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA)‐associated vasculitis (AAV), characterized by inflammation of small‐sized blood vessels and serum positivity of ANCA.
Patients with MPA typically present with pulmonary, kidney, and neurologic manifestations.
Although the definitive pathophysiology of MPA is still not fully understood, certain factors such as drugs, bacteria, and dust exposure are known to trigger the development of this disorder.

I apologize for asking this because you probably talked about it before and I didn't read it. I want to ask about Itachi's physical health,Many people believe that he had a disease. I had read somewhere that he had microscopic polyangiitis But I saw somewhere else that it was written that he has cystic fibrosis I'm curious to know your opinion, I like your analysis about Itachi And again, I'm sorry if you wrote about it before and I didn't see it
You don't have to apologise for asking this.
It's not a belief in the fandom or a fanon theory that he had a disease. He actually had it. Zetsu commented multiple times about Itachi being slow to dodge Sasuke's attacks, him coughing blood, the heart attack, etc., that were later revealed were due to his illness.
Since Kishimoto never clarified it, whether he had MPA or some other disease, it's always going to be a fan theory or mystery.
To me personally, it sounds more like heartbreak syndrome (the most prominent reason of his death) where his heart muscles were weakened to the point of not being able to function properly. The reason many believe he had some lung disease because he coughed blood and all, but I personally believe it could have been due to him battling Sasuke, using all his strength in the battle, and using the powers that took a toll on him physically and mentally both.
I'm not from the medical background, so I can't shed more light on it. But again, whichever one fits for Itachi, we can use that disease in our fics. xD

Regarding Itachi's illness: (reposting & tweaking from the old blog)
ㅤNothing really ever confirmed in canon, as far as I'm aware? Kinda just called a mysterious illness/possibly a chakra illness whatever that is?? We all know it was just Kishimoto realizing he had to kill Itachi because otherwise he was gonna go toe to toe with Madara and Obito and single-handedly settle the whole mess. Thankfully for us, the fandom is filled with incredibly dedicated people and some have come to a reasonably plausible and evidence-based theory on what this illness could actually be. Disclaimer: none of this is my original work and I'm simply adapting the idea as a headcanon. Sources can be found [here].
⇾ Microscopic Polyangiitis (MPA)
I'm not going to bore anybody with medical jargon, so here's the main points and what's relevant to my portrayal:
MPA is an autoimmune condition. It’s the result of blood vessel inflammation, which can damage organ systems.
People who have MPA may feel generally ill and fatigued, have a fever, or a loss of appetite and weight. When MPA affects the lungs they may have shortness of breath or cough up of blood.
Medications that suppress the immune system form the foundation of treatment for MPA. As such, there’s an increased risk of developing serious infections and susceptibility to other diseases.
ㅤIn general, MPA is treatable and, with adequate monitoring and care, may even achieve remission. In other cases, symptoms may fade and return recurrently. In my canon verses, because Itachi was determined to die by Sasuke's hand, he only bothered with minimal care and to keep himself alive for as long as needed (also, let's be honest, it's kinda hard to get proper meds and healthcare when you're a wandering S-ranked criminal). In my canon-divergent and modern verses, Itachi still has to do regular check-ups but he keeps an eye on his meds/treatments and, save for occasional flare-ups, he's at least mildly healthy.
ㅤNote: In my canon verses, I headcanon that Itachi occasionally smokes opium when he is in particularly severe pain from MPA. If the use of drugs for medicinal purposes (or in general!) bothers you, please let me know beforehand and I'll keep this detail out of our threads.

My Canon-Compliant Headcanons 'Bout Nohara Rin:
Her Number 1 most Favourite colour is black. She even befriended Uchiha Obito & Yūhi Kurenai initially coz of it. Rin saw their hair on the 1st day of school then instantly went to go tell them "Your hair is pretty!!" as soon as break-time started. Rin likes pouring black ink onto white sheets of paper & shift the paper around, watching the ink spread as she tilts the paper. Her 2nd Fave colour is shades of violet, but she's allergic to all flowers in the genus Viola and doesn't particularly care 'bout flowers nor flower language at all (Rin doesn't dislike them, though; she's fully neutral).
Rin fidgets with her hands a lot; whenever she's not doing so, her feet move instead. It's basically impossible for Rin to stay still unless she's unconscious or under the influence of a genjutsu. Even when asleep, Rin keeps moving the entire time; sometimes she falls off her bed as a result. The red headband Rin wears on her wrist is a 5th birthday gift from her mum since her fingers messing with it helps Rin concentrate when someone is talking to her.
She feels an ache behind her eyes each time Rin makes eye contact with someone, so she tends to look at people's noses or foreheads when trying to indicate that Rin is paying attention to someone who is speaking to her and she openly stares all over her surroundings if she thinks the person won't get angry at the incorrectly assumed lack of listening. Rin's eyes also are sensitive to light, so she carries sunglasses with her everywhere in a pocket or in her weapons pouch. Regardless of whether indoors or outside, she puts them on to give her eyes a break from the pain brightness causes to them.
Rin loves strawberries and sea turtles!! She ever since infancy is always eager to eat the former and ever since age 3 adores any strawberry or turtle themed item she can find. Her biological parents' 4th birthday gift to her is a strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) in a pot suspended from the ceiling of her bedroom. Rin's dad works as a gardener, so he helps her take good care of it. Her bio fullsister Nohara Ren's 4th birthday gift to her is a shuriken in the shape of a sea turtle (Chelonioidea).
Ren & Rin are very different from each other. Where the former is good at interacting with other people, the latter is fully socially incompetent. Where Ren easily wakes up early & enjoys sunlight, Rin can sleep through anything & anywhere and likes moonlight. Where the former can't use medical ninjutsu & is skilled at using genjutsu, the latter is skilled at using medical ninjutsu & can't use genjutsu. Where Ren can read a 205-paged textbook in 5 minutes and remember & understand everything she'd been reading, Rin needs to take a lot of breaks for the same book & give herself practice tests then revise before she manages to learn anything. The former is energetic, the latter is mostly quiet. Ren has zero issues with her eyes and can sit still without moving at all, Rin (as mentioned earlier) struggles a lot. However, despite all of these differences, the 2 sisters love each other and Rin (who is 5 years younger than her big sis) respects Ren a lot.
Until tragedy strikes. Ren graduated at 6 years old then was recruited into Root by Shimura Danzō (who secretly had the jōnin whose apprentice she was assassinated). The mental strain eventually caused 12 years old Ren to murder her loving bio parents and spare Rin (who witnessed the whole thing) solely coz her sisterly love had turned twisted. Ren knocked Rin out with 涅槃精舎の術/Nehan Shōja no Jutsu/Nirvana Temple Technique then snuck out of Konohagakure and lived the rest of her life as a nukenin, travelling all over the Human World 'til she died from microscopic polyangiitis at age 17. Rin started learning medical ninjutsu and how to identify & resist & break genjutsu due to her trauma from Ren's betrayal & their caring, civilian parents' death.
Rin usually is genuinely nice, but her social incompetence & her bluntness often get Rin into trouble. She dislikes arguments & so tries to be the peacekeeper between Obito and Hatake Kakashi, but often fails at it since Rin lacks diplomacy skills. She respects Namikaze Minato a lot for having the same background as her – a kid with civilian parents and no kekkei genkai – yet growing extremely skilled thus Rin develops a fascination for fūinjutsu.
Rin's most Fave word is friendship (in Japanese yūai which is written as 友愛 in kanji). She's a lonely person who holds tight to the very few friends (her parents, Ren, Kurenai, Obito, Kakashi, Minato, and Uzumaki Kushina) she manages to gain; although Rin doesn't always forgive them if they wrong her in some way, she does always give them a second chance and never holds grudges. It's not that Rin is unable to hold a grudge or incapable of spite; she feels those emotions, but they fade away as soon as Rin sees her loved ones since she's grateful that her family interacts with her at all. She's bad at setting boundaries and a hypocrite whose morality vanishes when her friends are the ones who do something she'd never tolerate from anyone else (not even if the person has always been sincerely nice to her). If she had lived past her suicide at 14 years old, Rin coulda grown out of these traits with some help from her family and a competent therapist. She also woulda bit by bit befriended Isobu the Sanbi (as Rin at the time of her canon death is the Three-Tails' jinchūriki).
Rin likes following her usual routine and dislikes it being interrupted (she's not a spontaneous person). She hates the taste of tsukudani and feels conflicted 'bout kids, in her teens wanting to someday become a bio or legally adoptive mum yet her whole time as a ninja up to that point always being utterly terrible at D-rank missions which involve babysitting (Obito is good at those and Kakashi relies on books to be at least semi-competent at them, her teammates' success lowering Rin's self-confidence since she sometimes compares herself to them, Kurenai, & Ren).
Ren & Rin's parents are civilians who were born in the Village Hidden in the Leaves, their respective bio parents having been civilians who were born there too to a few of the first civilians to join Konohagakure after the Village Hidden in the Leaves was founded. As stated above, the cisgender girls' dad Nohara Daisuke works as a gardener; he also grows as much of the family's food as he can. The girls' mum Nohara née Terada Ran is a housewife who (after a talk with her husband to figure out what they'll do) upon finding out she was 3 months pregnant with their 1st kid quit her job as a waiter in favour of focusing on raising the couple's children, Daisuke raising their daughters whenever he wasn't busy with work or his garden. Ran has the same violet filled-in square tattoo on each facial cheek her daughters have, getting the 2 tattoos on her 5th birthday same as her children do. The tattoos are a tradition started by Ran's bio mum Terada née Ōkan Ruki who at age 4 got them for herself; upon 3-year-old Ran wanting them, she told her only kid: "If you still want them next year, you can have them." Ren & Rin got the same choice too.
Her hobby is collecting sea shells, coz she ever since age 3 loves how pretty they are.

itachi is considered blind. they can see light and some intense colors, but everything else is blurry and if it’s dark they can’t see anything. they rely on their sharingan to guide them, which is part of the reason they’re always active. his favorite leisurely activity is walking and he spends hours walking if possible. if he didn’t kill his whole clan, he’d likely still be in the anbu. he has a sweet tooth. his gay awakening was one of his anbu teammates. their special interest is the land of fire’s history, followed by history of the world. in modern, his favorite artist is sleep token. they’d probably be a history major. no matter what world they’re in, itachi still dies young due to microscopic polyangiitis, a disease that largely affects the lungs and the kidneys.

Global Diphtheria Market Insights, Epidemiology, and Future Outlook – 2032
Overview
Diphtheria, caused by the bacterium Corynebacterium diphtheriae, remains a critical public health concern despite the availability of vaccines. While the global burden has significantly reduced, outbreaks still occur, especially in low-resource settings. The diphtheria market spans preventive vaccines, diagnostic tools, and therapeutic interventions, with a projected rise in demand driven by enhanced healthcare infrastructure, public awareness, and immunization efforts. This report offers insights into the market trends, epidemiological patterns, and future outlook through 2032.
Market Insights
The diphtheria market is characterized by:
The dominance of DPT Vaccines: Diphtheria vaccines are often delivered as part of combined DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus) immunization programs, which dominate the preventive segment.
Government and NGO Initiatives: Global health organizations, such as WHO, UNICEF, and GAVI, are actively involved in expanding immunization coverage to eradicate vaccine-preventable diseases.
Growing Investment in Diagnostics: Faster detection of diphtheria cases through point-of-care tests and lab-based diagnostics is gaining momentum.
Regional Disparities: While developed countries maintain low infection rates, emerging economies in Africa, Southeast Asia, and South Asia face challenges in vaccine distribution, leading to periodic outbreaks.
Epidemiology Trends
Diphtheria remains under control in high-income countries due to comprehensive immunization programs. However, sporadic outbreaks in under-vaccinated regions persist. The disease is endemic in parts of South Asia and Africa, where conflict, poverty, and weak healthcare systems hinder vaccine distribution. Occasional cases in Europe and North America reflect the risks posed by incomplete vaccination or migration from affected areas.
Future Outlook – 2032
The global diphtheria market is expected to grow steadily over the next decade, driven by:
Expanded Immunization Programs: Governments will focus on closing vaccination gaps through campaigns targeting high-risk populations.
Development of Next-Generation Vaccines: Combined vaccines with broader immunization coverage will drive innovation and improve compliance.
Advancements in Diagnostics and Surveillance: The need for rapid outbreak detection will boost investments in diagnostic technologies and digital disease monitoring tools.
Public-Private Partnerships: Collaboration between governments, pharmaceutical companies, and NGOs will ensure sustainable vaccine supply chains.
Conclusion
While diphtheria is largely preventable, maintaining high vaccination coverage is essential to avoid future outbreaks. The market outlook through 2032 reflects steady growth, propelled by advancements in vaccine technology, enhanced diagnostics, and focused immunization efforts in vulnerable regions. Strengthening healthcare systems and addressing vaccine hesitancy will be crucial for achieving sustained control over diphtheria worldwide.

Hello...I would like to ask you about Itachi's illness...as we have found out that he was suffering from an auto-immune disease called Microscopic Polyangiitis... No evidence appeared in the manga, anime of his illness, and all that helped us were the symptoms we saw..what do you think? Note that there are other diseases that have similar symptoms to the ones that Itachi was suffering from... and that this disease is a hereditary and rare disease (a recessive trait), so the symptoms of this disease appear early, at a young age... If that were true, his parents would have known that he was sick. From the beginning... I personally believe that he was suffering from (heart failure) or perhaps (unstable angina) and that he was deliberately not treating himself and was drawn to medications that only relieve pain (analgesic) in order to shorten the length of his life.
I'm not at all an expert in medical field, so anything regarding Itachi's illness goes over my head entirely. I've read the essay that discussed his illness being MPA, but as expected, I didn’t understand most of it. All the medical terms you mentioned are quite new to me.
Having said that, I do agree it was probably the heart failure. Or more like, the heartbreak syndrome, in which extreme emotional sufferings can lead to the weakened heart muscles. It wouldn't necessarily kill anyone, but in extreme cases, it can. Itachi's case is a little too extreme.
To me, his illness has held more of a symbolic value than the literal/physical one. He was suffering tremendously and lived with self-loathing that he never even acknowledged his own vicitmhood and sufferings.
The illness was probably the physical manifestation of what he went through emotionally after leaving his home. The way there was no cure for his guilt (because no one could ever convince him to have a normal, happier life) there was no cure for his illness either. Maybe if he didn't feel as guilty as he did, he could have some chance at life.
I also believe he took the medicines to only alleviate his pain. But I don't think he deliberately tried to shorten his life. He would want to live long enough, so Sasuke could come and kill him. Maybe if he were given the options of actually curing himself and only easing the pain but still living a painful life, he would go for later. He would think he deserved the pain and even rationalize this self-inflicted agony on the name of deserving it. This is how I imagine him actually surviving all the years of it without snapping.

⇾ general background ㅤItachi grew up under huge expectations from his parents to succeed, which turned him into an overachiever from a very young age. At the same time, he was always very mature and independent for his age, and often was the one watching over his little brother, Sasuke. Eventually, the family's elder cousin, Madara (super-duper VIP actor), took it upon himself to raise the kids and basically became their main caregiver. Under Madara's positive influence, Itachi slowly learned to start undoing the pressure to be perfect he'd always lived under, and how to start becoming his own person beyond what family expected of him.
ㅤDeciding to finish his medical degree, he nonetheless grew uninterested in becoming an actual doctor and began exploring other activities that used to be hobbies only. Namely, along with Sasuke and their cousin Obito, they started a band that quickly grew from Youtube phenomenon to actual striking success. Another passion is fashion and, concretely, fashion design - a dream come true was to eventually come up with his own brand. While still learning about himself and slowly deconstructing a lot of lingering issues, Itachi now leads a much more tranquil life and finally feels as though he's found his place in the world.
