Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo x chaotic crow-mutant Reader

Idea: so the reader is a mutated crow. Gremlin behavior ensues. Made this with the 2012 series in mind but can be read for the rottmnt series. I made something for a magpie reader awhile ago but I made this one different.

Put wayyy too much effort into this. Take the content you filthy animals.

★ Like them, you were born as a normal animal and got mutated later in life. However unlike the turtles you remember your life as a wild animal and still have some traits you picked up from your old life.

★ One of those things is that you eat from the trash. Why wouldn't you? The food that gets thrown away is perfectly fine and often delicious. None of them, not even Mikey, can stand to see you eat literal garbage.

★ trying to eat something that's clearly gone bad is where they draw the line. Raph and Leo's job when this happens is to chase/pin you down while Donnie uses his (gloved) hands to open your mouth. All while Mikey makes you a sandwich.

★ You steal things, much to Leo's dismay. Although it's not really your fault that you have no concept of personal property. Still you collect shiny things and neat trinkets you "borrow" from people.

★ Due to the whole "mutated animal" thing you can't really go outside (at least during the day) so you chose to move into one of the many abandoned areas in the subway system. Making you the boys only and worst neighbor.

★ It's a short walk from the lair, about 15 or so minutes away. Mikey's named it "the nest" and, honestly, the name is accurate. Everywhere you look there's something to take up the once empty space.

★ There's posters and tapestry's over the walls, covering up the boring color of concrete and plaster. Wall mounted shelves where installed with help from Donnie, stolen trinkets atop each one.

★ Floors covered up with various mismatched carpets. There's an entire corner of your bedroom stacked to the ceiling with a pillar of stuffed animals. It's a strangely cozy area.

★ Donnie hid a camera in your home by replacing a stuffed animal eye with it.

I like to imagine that donnie used to be the shortest of the brothers, and didn’t talk too much. Too much already going on in that big brain of his. I also like to think Raph and Mikey were inseparable as kids. Randomly decided to draw them today, quite happy with the shapes

Every so often I’ll remember that canonically, Raph (the big hulking 7ft giant) has fainted trying to lift a bus, TWICE, while Mikey (the itty bitty child who is the size of ONE of Raph’s arms) has lifted and thrown a bus, an eighteen-wheeler, a cargo ship, and a skyscraper like it was nothing

I know Raph is strong and it’s shown throughout the show with him lifting and destroying heavy things, but it is my most beloved headcanon that Draxum designed Mikey to be the strongest out of the four in order to make up for his small size. And so I love the idea that Mikey is the only one who can best Raph in arm wrestling competitions and can lift his big brother as easily as a handful of grapes <3 (Bonus points if neither of them have realized this because he’s never actually tried)

The first time you oh-so casually bit him and smiled afterwards as if it was nothing had him going for a spin. Confused is the prominent word to describe how he was feeling at the time. The action was just so unprompted. He couldn't figure out why you felt the need to do something like that, nor how it could be seen as an act of love.

He's learnt over time that it's an unavoidable urge for you. There's nothing you can do about it. You just have to bite him for whatever reason you deem necessary. Leo is all too aware of this by now and may or may not use it to his advantage.

"For every hour we're out tonight, I'll give you a free bite. No questions asked, okay?"

These are terms you can comply with. He knows how much you miss him when he's gone, so setting up this ultimatum is an effective way of letting him go on patrol more easily.

Raphael

Being with you has involved its fair share of revelations and discoveries. There's at least a handful of things he's become savvy to whilst being with you but the random biting is one of the more bizarre ones.

Actions speak louder than words and they always mean the most to him but biting? What's up with that? Humans are weird. That's the conclusion he's come to. Even now in this very moment, you've taken a hold of his wrist whilst curled up in bed together.

"What are you, a cat or something? Quit it."

Of course, he's only joking. It's just so he can see your tongue poke out and your nose scrunch up in the cute way he likes. Even if he did seriously mean for you to stop, he doubts you would. You live by your own rules when it comes to these things. And, sure, you can bite him if you like. Just as long as you expect to get bitten back.

Donatello

It may catch him by surprise from time to time but only because you do it in the most random of situations. Whilst he's working away and you're sitting in his lap, you'll just latch onto the closest part of him you can access. He might jump if he's in the zone but it's never an issue.

Regardless of it being a problem or not, you've had your own curiosities about why you have such a primal impulse to chomp down on your boyfriend. Luckily, Donnie being as knowledgeable as ever has the answers.

He halts on his words, blinks out of his matter-of-fact mode, and gazes down at you. All the while, you have his forearm locked between your teeth. Your attempt to smile coyly against his skin is adorable, and he smiles back before continuing his explanation.

Michelangelo

He won't ask any questions. In all honesty, he loves it. Although, there might have been a bit of a misunderstanding the first couple of times you went to take a nip at him. Let's just say he thought you were trying to get him in the mood. Can't blame a guy for assuming his lover is a little freaky in the sheets.

Having such a strong force overcome you is something he understands, though. It's like him when it comes to pulling a fast one over his brothers. You can bite him whenever you want to if that's what you feel you need to do. Even if you turned into a zombie, he'd still let you.

Mikey holds his arms out, hands dangling as he playfully groans like the undead. You aren't entirely sure how the conversation developed like that but it's cute nonetheless. Hey, he's just being honest. He loves you that much.

The easiest turtle to win over is Mikey. He practically throws himself at you. When you give him positive attention back, he just ramps up his flirting. He has pet names for you for days. Eventually, he'll settle on one or two good ones and use them instead of your name almost always. You are going to have to confirm that you have feelings for him before he takes it to the next level. Due to the fact that he is so very straight forward and right out the gates with his cat calling, you have to confirm that you are not just being nice and playing along. He's a flirt, not a creep. (Maturity has found him, it just took him a few more years than his brothers)

Once you do, your fate is sealed. Mikey is definitely a very handsy, flirty, hiding no feelings and having practically no shame kinda dude. He doesn't care if anyone sees, hears, smells etc. his flirting and most of his physical romancing. Telling you how hard you make him a bit louder than he should, toughie tough. Making out on the couch in front of everyone, he doesn't care. Getting caught with his hand down your pants in the kitchen, oh well.

What he does keep secret and quiet is when he vents. Always expected to be the fun and sunshine brother, you become his confidant when he's got heavy feels things to unload. To make sure that it doesn't bog you down, he tries his hardest to end with something more positive and turn it back into good-vibes.

The other thing he'll keep more on the down-low is when the two of you are trying new fetishes or engaging in kinky play for the first time. He doesn't want to be interrupted or for you to get embarrassed and then never want to try again, so that stuff stays in his room, when he knows it's private and he won't be bothered. After y'all get comfortable with it, maybe then he's less cautious.

Leo is tough to know. He's dead set on his duties to the point that it's most of his personality, until you get to know him better, and that only happens if he lets you. It'll be slow. He will start by sharing random tidbits of himself that don't have to do with ninjutsu, weapons, or his leadership responsibilities. In the beginning they're bland, basic facts; which pizza toppings he prefers, his favorite type of TV show, his preferred genre of book. They're things you could gleam from just being around him for more than a few days. He's stupid cautious.

His next step would be to ask if you want to do some training with him. He sticks to simple things, testing your abilities and skills. It's really more to learn about you, but it's a start. He takes it easy on you, mostly dodging until you get frustrated, and then maybe he humbles you with a sneaky move like knocking you off your feet. He doesn't ask you if you want to practice again, he waits for you to ask.

Over time, the training becomes more physical and he shares actual details about himself, but you have to be giving info in return. Knowing what his favorite movie is probably would never be information that The Foot uses against him, but you never know. You have got to meet him, tit for tat, and offer your own truths. If he catches you lying, you're not just back to zero, you're in the negative.

Eventually, if you've managed to gain his trust and build a strong connection with him, Leo will open up properly. He will joke, play, swat, and treat you like one of his brothers, with a more gentle approach because you're not a 200lb+ muscled turtle.

If romance blooms, expect another slow trudge full of trust building and honesty before you get any proper boyfriend-esque attention. Once past the awkward "we shouldn't, it's too dangerous, how would this work?, I'm not human, will you really be happy here?" Swamp of despair, it should be smooth sailing. Be honest and he's all yours.

All that time spent building that relationship will return ten-fold from Leo with whatever type of affection you ask for. He wants to please, he wants you happy, and he will make it so if possible.

Raph is going to keep his feelings secret for as long as he can. He hides his insecurities by trying to be the biggest, heaviest hitter, and a tank for his brothers. And those are just his viewed shortcomings compared to his three brothers. When looking at you, he compares himself against all men. He has little hope. In the mirror he sees a big, green face with sharp features and a scowling, RBF. He may act like hot shit in front of his brothers, but it's a front. Besides his appearance and size, his temper can flare, and he's come a long way since he was a teen, but it can still explode from him, which is terrifying to see, especially up close. He's very aware and is afraid that if you see him in that state, it will only reinforce the fact that he's a monster.

You will see glimpses of how sweet he can be from time to time, but they won't come often. When you're around, his guard is up doing double time; keeping up appearances and keeping his feelings in check. Over time his facade will falter occasionally. He'll be laughing at your jokes, ribbing you when you get frustrated over video games, checking to see if you've eaten, and maybe even leaning against you as he nods off on the couch. When you smile at his playfulness and kindness, he'll smile back until he catches himself and suddenly remembers that he has something to do. It will probably be going to their home gym.

If you can manage to get him to accept that you honestly and truly think he is not a monster, and that you want to be around him, and miss him when you're not with him, you're going to get someone who can be a huge teddy bear cuddler, but also someone who likes to get physical and more rough in the bedroom. This is going to take a lot of repeating yourself and him asking, not always subtly, if you really mean it. If you're sure you wouldn't be happier with some other guy. If your eyes work. If he's really not too big. If if if... You will learn that kisses can usually stop him from spiraling.

Sometimes Raph wants to cuddle and be soft and tender. Despite his size he is careful. He handles you like you're a porcelain figurine in the beginning. With the practiced ability to knit, his large hands can be surprisingly dexterous and delicate. He is not a bull in a china shop unless he chooses to. Quiet times together have him completely wrapped around you, holding you carefully close and seeking your body warmth. You are careful not to laugh the first time he slips and churrs when he begins to doze off in your arms. He won't do it again if you embarrass him.

Over time, he allows himself to be a bit more rough with you. At first it is just careful roughhousing, perhaps some near choreographed play tackles or even picking you up and pretending to slam you on the bed, setting you down carefully with sound effects instead of actual violence (Raph may have loved watching WWE growing up). After a bout of rougher hands-on play, he notices that you're turned on. This changes things immediately. Taking advantage of the situation, the play shifts from silly to sexual in an instant.

You both end up having the most amazing sex you've ever had thus far. The next day you talk about it as you ice bruises and he apologizes as you hobble around when you first get up from bed. Instead of fighting off insecurities, he fights anxiety, boredom, and possibly depression. Instead of working out or training, he buries himself in his work. Keeping busy keeps his mind from wandering into darker thoughts. It also leads him to pass out and sleep dreamless sleep. He knows that it isn't healthy, but the other thoughts aren't good for him either.

When he notices that you've taken an interest in what he is working on, he eagerly shares to the point of info-dumping. If he catches himself, he apologizes out of reflex. You have to dismiss it or he will assume that, like his brothers, you do not have time to hear him ramble. Asking him questions, especially if you do not understand what he is talking about, will spur him on to explain. He's patient and wants to share his knowledge. If you pretend to know, he can tell, and won't say anything, but will take note that you're just trying to be nice in order to placate him and get him to stop.

Always watching and analyzing everything, he'll take notice who you talk to when you arrive, who you spend the most time with, how you react to his other brothers antics and conversations, who you decide to sit next to, how much physical contact you give and to who... He sees it all and makes mental notes. He will also overthink things. Were you just laughing at Mikey's jokes, or was that flirting? Were you smiling at Leo because he was kind, or was that something more? Was that shove you attempted to give Raph just for fun, or were you trying to spur him to touch you? If you don't give him equal or more attention, he will notice and make pessimistic predictions.

If you give him the most attention out of his brothers and are genuinely interested in his projects and research, he will take note and begin to test you a little. While handing him a screwdriver, he notes how you react when his fingers linger on yours a little longer than they should have. As he explains the wiring on a smaller machine, he stealthily monitors your pulse rate when he moves close enough for your arms to press against one another. After some motor oil droplets splash on your cheek, he watches your face for any signs as he gently wipes the dark spots away with his thumb. Every action is inconspicuous and easily dismissed, but a treasure trove of valuable information before he makes any kind of decision as to what to do.

If he is completely positive that you harbor a crush on him, he meticulously plans his own confession. A true romantic, he wants this to be perfect. The two of you will be alone, most likely in his lab space where he is most comfortable. His brothers will either be out or busy. You won't have any idea that this is a special evening and will be under the guise that you're coming over to help him out with a project, as you often did. He'll let the evening start out with that project, but will end up shifting your attention to something else he's made. The secret project will be something impressive that has you in awe, asking how long he's been working on it. That's when he makes his move.

His answers have been rehearsed in his mind over and over, but his nerves still cause him to shake and some of his answers carry a hint of nervousness, but his face is confident and sure. He reports his data to you and details how he's noticed your affection. Still monitoring you, he is careful and has a backup plan readied in case he has to abort his admission. If everything goes as planned, you end up with his hand on your cheek and a gentle first kiss upon your lips.

Donatello is almost clingy with his affection. You receive messages when you are not around him and when you are at the lair, he is close to you or at least nearby. He seeks physical contact often but in more discrete ways when around others. At the dinner table, he'll move his leg so that his calf is leaning against yours. During movie night, he is hip to hip with you on the couch, encouraging you to lean against him once the flick starts. It's not completely hidden, but its modest.

Away from prying eyes, it is a completely different story. Hands end up under and in clothing as kisses turn from soft and sweet to hungry and demanding in seconds. All you have to do is say the right words. Donnie proves time and time again that he is a quick learner and has your body figured out within a couple of weeks. You find it difficult, at first, for him to properly let go and let you take the wheel, but in time the trust is built and he allows you to give without also receiving. He turns out to be a versatile switch after deviating from his original, more dominant, tenancies.

★ Big lady! Please carry him when he doesn't want to get up. The only person who has been able to carry him in the past 5 years is Raphael. He does the grabby hands thing and everything to try and get you to pick him up.

★ The size difference between the two of you is great because you always end up being big spoon while cuddling. This includes making massive pillow forts in the lair to binge watch shows and have lazy days in.

★ He practices drawing dragons in a traditional Japanese art style (also known as ryu or tatsu). Your figure is really unique and it inspires him to draw more inhuman characters.

★ Although he loves it when you pick him up, it can be very scary when you fly high up with him. It takes him awhile to warm up to it, pretty funny considering his future self floats. (that's basically flying, right?)

tmnt 2003 headcanons: Horror Movies

Mikey:

Absolute scream queen

He's so dramatic. He's covering his eyes, screaming and hiding over a movie he's seen probably 15 times.

He'll be cowering one minute and then the next he's info dumping about the lore.

But Mikey LOVES horror movies the cheesier the better.

and he doesn't just watch the movie he knows all the facts about the lore, the actors and the production and he will talk your ear off throughout the whole movie.

Raph:

Raph gets too invested and starts yelling at the tv.

You know those videos of dogs barking at horror movies? That's him.

He'll yell at the protagonist and then 10 seconds later he'll act all cool and start insisting that he'd be able to take down the ghost/serial killer.

He will describe in detail how he would mma-style wreck that guy and escape the creepy cabin completely unscathed.

He's out loud re-writing the story where he's the main character.

Donnie:

Donnie ruins the movie because something scientifically inaccurate will happen and he'll be like "Wrong."

He cannot suspend his disbelief for even one second.

He'll predict what's going to happen in the movie but his predictions are always way more horrific than what actually happens and everyone is like "How did you even think of that what's wrong with you?"

Donnie will watch whatever you put on the tv but horror movies aren't his favorite because he thinks they're usually pretty bad.

Leo:

The fun of horror movies for him isn't even the movie it's his brothers reactions.

Leo himself is completely stone faced.

Leo getting all comfy cozy with a blanket and a cup of tea to watch the most gory movie they own.

One time during a tense scene something just possessed Leo and he HAD to jump scare Raph. It was like he was taken over by his older brother instinct. And he got Raph so bad because he was NOT expecting Leo to do that. It's one of his fondest memories.

I'm overanalyzing shots frame by frame again and I have a guess/headcanon as to which one of the brothers we have to thank for mutating Splinter.

They didn't differentiate them by their shades of green in that shot and the episode transcript keeps it vague: [Lifts turtle by its tail. Turtle shakes, splattering rat with glowing ooze.]

Judging by the split-second grin after he shakes, first instinct would be to say Mikey, but it's also not quite as wide as a typical Mikey grin (he usually smiles openmouthed or with top and bottom teeth). It could just be the angle of his head though. I don't think it's Raph; his brows would probably be angled down more like a "Heh >:D" To me that looks more like a Don or Leo smile.

As for any hints given right before this turtle is grabbed:

I'm inclined to say Raph is top left, Leo is top middle and Mikey's top right. Their expressions and where they're looking would be in line with their typical behavior/priorities. Top left turtle's attention is on his brother; he looks kind of uneasy. Something new is happening, Raph would be concerned with his brothers first. Top middle turtle is looking intently at Splinter, bemused and/or worried. Leo looking at the bigger picture, analyzing the newcomer/potential threat. Raph knows he’s big. And part of him resents it. But it does have its own advantages. Eyes gravitate to him naturally for his size. Your eyes in particular are the ones he’s after. So if he knows you’re coming down to the lair later, he may get a workout in just before. To have that pump in full effect for your arrival. Even better if you decide to say hey to him while he’s working out. His muscles straining to do another bench press under your watch. Grunting out with the effort as he racks it. Sitting up to give you a breathy smile, snaggle-tooth catching on his lip.

He’s a listener for sure. Big eyes going round and soft as you call out his name. Just give him a chance, an in, to know he has a chance and he’ll start getting more obvious in his advances. Always coming up with an excuse for some contact. For you to hold onto him. His arm is out for you to take if you ever need it.

And if he feels threatened, that your attention is being soaked up by someone else. He may use his size to his advantage. Taking up the space in front of you, unable to even peer over him as he leans down, with a slight frown “Who’re you lookin’ for? Raph’s right here! I’ll help with whatever you need,”

Leo is painfully obvious when he wants attention. He is a whore for attention. He’s the face-man for a reason. When you enter the room he is the first to call out to you, already up and in your space. Depending on how close the two of you are it can be an arm slung around your shoulders, or a full on sweep-you-off-your-feet hug! He’s a tease so expect his hands to be on you regardless. Poking or tickling whenever he feels your attention fading elsewhere.

His jokes are aimed solely for you to laugh at. If he doesn’t get even a chuckle he may start pouting. If you don’t even give him an exasperated smile he may go down on his knees. Because he is that dramatic. If he’s wearing any clothes at all, they will either be so tight you can see every line of his form, or so loose you can see the skin regardless. Think suits or tank tops. Like Raph he’s not afraid to flex in front of you. Your eyes on him when he is purposefully showing off his body just goads that ego of his. You must be thinking he’s attractive right?

The type to grab your chin if he catches you ogling someone else. Tipping it up to meet his eyes as he tuts disapprovingly. “Hermosa! What else is there to look at when you have me right here? Hmmm?”

Donnie is more likely to show off his tech, achievements, and brain before he even thinks of his body. That’s what he is best at after all. He wants to show you all his accomplishments, his technological prowess. Please, please break something. He will be over at your place in a jiffy. Those hands and fingers showing off his precision and dexterity. They can be used for other things too!

The fashion sense he has is more like an add-on. Something he doesn’t even think twice about. Well maybe he put some thought into how good he would look in street wear. Dark purple and black are the color combos of his choice. But the grey sweatpants that he just throws on right before he goes to greet you? He hadn’t thought about how they hang on his hips. Nope.

Snarky comebacks are in his nature. He doesn’t do well with jealousy. “Scoff. Are your eyes seriously wandering over to that neanderthal? Should I go start the introductions?” And you better deny. Or come up with some plausible excuse so he doesn’t overthink the rest of the day away!

Mikey is spoiled with attention. He gets overloaded by all his big brothers after all. So if he is actively seeking out your attention, and isn’t getting the reception he’s used to? He’ll be a bit clingy. Like Leo, he will call out to you as soon as he sees you. No matter where or what you’re doing! Could be in a big crowd or a silent library. A big wave and a holler of your name will be the first thing he does. Then expect for him to sweep you off your feet into a crushing hug that goes on for a good couple seconds, and could last longer depending on your reaction.

He’ll cook you anything you want. He basks under your praise and compliments. If you moan, oh lord, he may not be able to stop staring at you. Eyes wide, mouth slightly agape, before he realizes himself and pushes the plate closer to you. Wanting to get that reaction from you again.

He has no problem spamming you in person and through the phone. He’ll text multiple messages without a second thought of how desperate he may seem. He’ll call if you don’t respond back in a reasonable amount of time. The logic behind that is everyone has their phone on them, at all times, just shoot him a thumbs up and he’ll feel reassured!

-He's had a very difficult time reciprocating this level of cuteness to you without prompt, its something he's working on

-Then during cuddle times HES the one who crawls into your lap and kinda just...begs with his eyes.

-Unlike Leo, this is the best way to distract Donnie.

-If he's feeling overwhelmed by work or tasks- calling his name then grabbing his cheeks and kissing him all over will turn his internal world into a very quiet, loving place instantly.

-Hes usually pretty confident, and it's easy for him to talk, but if you do this he'll get all shy and embarrassed

-His smile is super wide and he pulls his head back on his neck while trying to lean away or avoid looking at you

-It's SO fucking cute

-The hardest part about this is if he's not sitting down-

-This shit is extremely difficult

-I don't care how tall you are. Donnie is taller and it's DIFFICULT to ambush him with face or head kisses.

-You just know 90% of your relationship with from his perspective is you looking up at him doing grabby fingers
