My favorite part of this is every individual involved has legitimate reasons not to know how dang old they actually are.

Entrapta probably spent a solid decade in a fugue state of hyperfixation and creativity. “About 30” is a reasonable estimate. Science needs precise timekeeping - calendars? Maybe not so much.

Hordak, well… Realistically the Imperial Horde would do timekeeping differently than another culture’s planet, let alone one trapped in an alternate dimension that may or may not have experienced time at the same rate as the outer universe. We literally don’t know, show never said. And a clone’s lifespan versus an Etherian’s lifespan? “Consenting adults” is one hundred precent valid.

Angella is, as said, immortal. As mentioned in other reblogs, the show neglects to say exactly how long she’s been immortal, however - “ruled for a thousand years, taking the throne just after Mara” and “was literally fifty years old when Adora first met her” are equally probably with the evidence supplied by canon. If it’s the former, well, you’re going to stop actually paying attention after a while.

And poor Micah…. He probably did the math when he got back from Beast Island (or has the benefit of remembering a normal progression of time from the portal reality). He probably logically knows how old he is when the series ends. But actually comprehending how long he was on Beast Island????? Let the guy repress a decade or so.

I headcanon this

If Angella returns from the Portal world, her and Micha reunion will be one of happiness, tears, hugs and a bit of crying.

Followed by Angella SCREAMING AT MICHA giving him what for for leaving her to raise a daughter for X amount of years.

She's had a lot of tension build up for a long time.

Absolutey second this headcanon. She will be all "and for her eigth birthday I couldn't find the right colour of candles and the party was ruined and... you... would have found... the right colour of candles..." *breaks down crying*

Micah: "Angel, you know I've never once in my life got the right colour of ANYTHING."

Angella, smiles through the tears: "But you'd have told me it doesn't matter..."

Come to think of it, as a queen and a mother there are very few people that Angella can yell at - or even vent at - in safety (I do headcanon Netossa and Spinnerella to be two of those people, though)

1. ships that fit it

right now i am obsessed with alex cyprin x mc from astoria: fate's kiss. i just-- aaa them. alex is a demigod and child of aphrodite and mc is human. what i find super interesting about them is (in addition to the best trope, alex being her boss) they were childhood friends as well. so alex is a super young immortal. i feel like there's so much you can do with that and something not many stories have explored. they also parallel and carry the trauma of their parents, MC's mother was involved with Aphrodite, but she passed away and left a lot of things in her wake and left alex with a lot of things to think about. AAA.

i also freaking adore Twilestia from MLP. there's that gentle adoration there and i think celestia would hesitate to act on it at first but as time goes on its just the obvious thing.

hylink from zelda hits the feels. it's almost like they're both immortal, but they aren't. every link is different but she loves him the same. or she loved one of them above the rest and can't help seeing his face in every one of them. aa.

trephacard from castlevania is another one that tugs my heart in every direction. see also draculisa.

another is raysu from raya and the last dragon!! they're so adorable. and very gay in the german dub especially.

2. general opinion on it

I love it!!! It's such a bittersweet trope. I think the idea of loving someone for the time you have with them, accepting that you will have to watch them grow old and die and loving them despite that, it's super romantic. it really digs deep into the "loving you for you" thing. and then the (usually inevitable) tragic ending and promising to love that person forever even after they die. yeah.

3. ships that don't fit but i would read

i love this trope and it could honestly go for so many ships.

i am fond of "phoenix is actually a phoenix" AUs, and maya has all kinds of magical shenanigans going on, so it could work for either half of narumayo really interestingly.

glimweaver could be really interesting, especially because glimmer's mom was immortal. either SW is immortal and glimmer has to come to terms with the fact that she can't keep a leash on her forever or glimmer is immortal and SW has to come to terms with the fact that glimmer will watch her grow weaker. and she can't worship the queen forever. (with their significant age difference that second one may have to play out anyways, but glimmer being forever 20 might make it more distinct).

ineffable husbands has the opposite problem, wherein they're both immortal. maybe one of them rejecting heaven or hell would make them mortal, and they'd both have to come to terms with that after their 6000 year relationship? fucking ow!!! love that.

Micah and Angella in the #seascienceau ! Angella is a tennin - a Japanese angel/swan maiden. She has wings when wearing her kimono and can turn into a swan. She left her duty as an angel to marry Micah and works at the research centre with him. She can't breathe underwater though and needs scuba gear as much as anyone!

Micah and Angella for the Ship Files?

1. My take on their canon relationship:

They’re very married and for very good reasons. They’re obviously devoted to each other, Micah fending off hell-brain-signalling for around two DECADES just so he can get back to her and their daughter, Angella immortalizing him in the murals with her, never even thinking to take another lover. Micah’s spunky, curious, and eager, especially before the island, while Angella is more reserved and grounded, so they, y’know, balance each other. They started the Rebellion together, and forged a Princess Alliance together. And somewhere in all of that, they fell in love. The Alliance fell apart because Angella’s mourning took everything out of her, and she could hardly keep up these things that she and the man she loved had started together. Glimmer and Angella’s relationship is strained without Micah there, who they both grieve in very different ways. He calls her Angie. That’s the CUTEST shit.

3. Reasons why I do/don’t ship them;

Again, I’m always a sucker for a canon couple. I also love the smol/tol they got going on, one of my fave tropes. A man who is wholly devoted to his wife and family and a woman who loves her goofy husband and cherishes him the way he deserves? Sign me up. And like, the scene I capped, that one where she says “this is perfect, but I cannot stay here with nothing but memories” That shit HURTED. She misses him so terribly, it aches in her all the time, but she knows that her love must be in memory and that for all she misses him, he would not want her to wallow in that ache.

4. Headcanon, if any:

This one’s a sad one.

When Angella said “Goodbye Micah” and kissed his cheek, his eyes widened and his memories came back, prompting him to shout that he wasn’t dead yet. I headcanon that the reason THAT successfully jogged his memory was because she’d done the exact same thing, ~20 years earlier, when he was sent off to the fight that he “died” in. She did not expect him to fail to come home to her, that time. And she did not expect herself to go home, this one.

Would anyone care for me to share some family/domestic headcanons for my She-Ra OTPs (Catradora, Glow/Glimbow, Seamista, Pertrapta, and Sconnie), and their Kiddos?

I might also have some stuff involving Bow and his dads and siblings; Glimmer and her parents; and just general family stuff for most of the Alliance characters. Probably gonna be mostly fluff, but maybe some sad stuff, cause I can’t always resist that. So, you guys wanna hear some?

She-Ra’s bisexual rep is damn good and this is why

EXHIBIT A: BOW -- his relationship with Glimmer, his short try with Perfuma, and his crushing on Sea Hawk, literally from the moment they met. I guess you can count his interaction with Kyle, too, but I personally found that to be more platonic even if I think their dynamic is interesting. 

“Your name is Sea Hawk!? That’s the coolest name I’ve ever heard!” (Cue Mermista letting out her longest uuuuggggghhhhh ever on her throne in Salineas)

I totally get it, Bow. This man’s stupid shiny mustache, titty window and massive ego also makes me lose all of my brain cells. 

“Sea Hawk is impressed with my knots!”

He went to Princess Prom with Perfuma!

They were so domestic in the portal that I’m not convinced that Glimbow weren’t dating in their “perfect” reality.

I guess we can count this, too, but I think Bow was just using his masculine charm and sick biceps to distract Kyle from what’s going on behind him. Poor guy. 

This got super duper long because the rep is so vast, so I’m going to put the rest under a cut. I’m only going to use the canon bi characters, so this includes Mermista, Sea Hawk, Glimmer, Bow, Micah, Angella, Entrapta and an honorable mention of Perfuma who explored dating a guy but is canonically a lesbian. Apparently there’s no confirmation for this other than ND liking someone’s tweet saying perfuma is a trans lesbian. So her sexuality is up to audience interpretation.

EXHIBIT B: QUEEN GLIMMAH -- her relationship with Bow and her chemistry with Catra. (If there is more I’m sorry, Glimmer is one of my favorite characters but she has so much going on that I can’t remember any other moments with romantic tension towards other characters.) One could argue she had moments with Adora, as well, but I saw them as more platonic. 

But dear God, this poor girl cannot win. People who don’t ship Glimbow seem to insist she’s a lesbian, or that Glimbow is a het ship. They definitely get the brunt of this bullshit and I’m sick of seeing it. 

First of all, she’s a walking pastel bi-pride flag.

Like this girl nearly had a meltdown over her crush going to Princess Prom with someone else, she clearly loves him.

Get you a girl who will personally kick the shit out of your kidnappers. 

Glimmer’s fantasy version of Catra. There is no heterosexual explanation for this.

EXHIBIT C: SEA HAWK, his relationship with Mermista and his seven evil exes that they fought together. Canonically I think Bow’s crush on Sea Hawk is one-sided, but if Mermista wasn’t in the picture (or, you know, if they wanted to explore a poly relationship) I think they could have had something. 

Bow has been fawning over him all day and he still only has eyes for Mermista.

The bi-rate urge to belt out songs about your blushing beloved in public

I actually love that his fantasy version of Mermista is just her, but slightly more anime. This man wouldn’t change a damn thing about his beloved, but he might be a big fucking weeb. 

She’s too hot, he’s not getting anything done today

There is no heterosexual explanation for this. 

ND has confirmed this is Sea Hawk’s ex in a tweet (all of the s4 wrong answers became s5 canon), but....

I think they’re all his exes. 

Honorable mentions:

An attempt at flirting with a lesbian.

DT calling him Hot Stuff, bc yeah, the many ideas this gave me. But come on, read the room, DT. This poor man is traumatized, his fish wife is mind controlled and trying to kill him for real this time. 

DT is another enigma, like Perfuma. I can see them flirting with both masc and fem characters, so they might be bi or pan, but it’s really up to audience interpretation. 

EXHIBIT D: MERMISTA, her relationship with Sea Hawk, her massive crush on Adora, her flirting with Perfuma, and her inability to function around hot people.

Adora transforms into a hot, buff warrior princess right in front of her eyes. “That’s.... different...”

Mermista masks a lot of her emotions, just like I do, so I imagine this is going through her head in this scene: “Oh great, these two incredibly hot women are are in my space right now, time to die i guess”

“You see what I have to deal with?” That blush tho. “He’s just my ride” my ass, you aren’t fooling anyone, dearest. You have a fleet of ships, probably a whole ass navy at your disposal. Failing that, you’re a literal mermaid who could have swam there if needed. 

Look at how they’re standing -- she grabbed his arm first. 

Some not-so-subtle flirting with Perfuma. I love to imagine they dated when they were like, younger teens. 

More mermadora content for your viewing pleasure

Get you a girl who will help you fight your seven evil exes. 

As much as Mermista tries to hide her feelings, everyone knew this was the only way to break the mind control. Only someone she loved could get her to feel so strongly that it would override it (even if that feeling is annoyance, and if you’ve never intentionally and playfully annoyed your partner, you’re stronger than I am).

EXHIBIT E: ENTRAPTA

To be fair, I don’t really see any references in the show to her being attracted to anyone other than Hordak and tech, but according to the SPOP Wiki, ND confirmed she is bisexual, and this first bulletpoint also touches on her attraction in the show as well:

The wikipedia isn’t 100% reliable but it’s a good place to start, I did go out of my way to pull confirmation tweets and stuff where I could find them. But being fanmade, the wiki isn’t always a great source of information. 

EXHIBIT F: MICAH AND ANGELLA

To be fair, again: these two are only confirmed bisexual under the blanket statement that all of ND’s characters are queer. They still count, though, in my heart. We stan a short bi king and his tall bi wife. (I only teared up a little bit getting this screenshot)

Honorable mention: Perfuma, who, for all intents and purposes, I thought was bisexual until I read her wiki. Because this is how she’s presented in canon. 

God, I ship these two so hard though. I love when the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one ;~;

Scorfuma is pretty fucking cute too, though. I just think that it’s neat to also include someone experimenting with their preferences, too, if that was the intention behind her relationships in the show. 

Perfuma is widely regarded by the fandom to be sapphic, but just because she ended up with a woman doesn’t mean she couldn’t be bisexual. I think it could go wither way -- she could have been experimenting with her preferences and then determined she only wants to date women, or she could just be a bisexual person in a same-sex relationship. 

If you stuck around this long, thanks! I don’t want to pretend to be an expert on any of this, just a real bisexual person who sees herself in these characters and hates to see that all erased by fans of the show who insist they’re straight or heterosexual couples just because they’re opposite sex. Or, again, that because Perfuma ended up in a wlw relationship she is exclusively sapphic. Bisexual people are still bisexual no matter what the gender of the person they’re partnered up with is.
