In the moment Pete's body is passed out in real world, in his mide he's been transferred to the void, Lady Void sings telling the story of her being cast aside as a goddess. During the song her monster appearance slowly shifts to more humanoid because of Pete's devotion and finally acceptance and understanding of her.

Finally she has a strong connection to the outside world, her roots are so much stronger than they were before and on the bet drop with the yelling of "LET THEM DROWN" Pete's physical body begins to ooze void itself.

Yes this is a play on Catnap type power where Pete now can drool void that would suck out the life of his enemies. He has become a siren of the Lady Void herself 🥰 so like instead of a "priest" or a "God representative" or "apprentice" he's a siren

Very stupid headcanons I have for my Mianite post timeline that I will basically never bring up, but exist in the back of my head:

After finding and restoring Ianite's heart in Season One, the champions and pirates celebrated by getting fucking wasted. During this celebration Redbeard and Tucker sleep together.

Neither man remembers who they slept with at this celebration. If either was forced to guess, Red would say it was Tucker, Tucker would guess he slept with Tom.

The Sparksize Chapel has become a building that people just destroy parts of, typically for stress relief or target practice.

Mot started this. Alyssa followed suit. Capsize destroyed one of the walls when she learnt was it was built for.

Jordan is the last person that learns/figures out that Capsize is gay. He figures it out at a point so late that everyone else is confused how he's only just realised.

Please enjoy the first installment of a new series I'd like to call Gamemode 0!

If you're waiting for Mianite Season Four (ha), this will hopefully tide you over. Gamemode 0 is a highly produced mini-series that tells a story through text, dramatic audio narration, a musical score, and images. It stars a villain who was an edgy Grim Reaper in 2015 and it poses the question—how much has Kikoku Botan really changed since 2015?

That question will be answered over the course of – I'm guessing – seven-ish chapters? The first chapter, which you're about to read and hear, is based on a Minecraft RP session held in a single night. Those present for the session include World Historian's original writer (me) and a group of talented role-players. More info under the cut!

Background:

The project was Mianite Etherealis. We played on a private 1.12 server for two years, ending in early 2023. The chapter you're about to read (titled Session One) covers the RP session that brought World Historian into the narrative.

I would almost go so far as to say that you're about to experience a canon World Historian mini-series with implications for all World Historian content in existence.

Is it actually canon? I don't know. It's as authentic as you'll ever get for WH, that's for sure. I've spent the last nine years developing the cosmology being used here. I planted the seeds for it when I created World Historian in 2015.

But no, Gamemode 0 isn't Dec-and-Tom-approved canon. And my astounding co-writers aren't offical Mianite writers. And Etherealis isn't a piece of lost Mianite media, though you can think of it that way if you'd like.

Vision:

Gamemode 0 will follow the plot of Mianite Etherealis for one more session, then embark on its own original plot centered on World Historian.

That being said, my aim with Gamemode 0 is to dig up a piece of the past and link it to the future. This series is one of many projects that could result from that effort. If it sees enough support, it could grow beyond text, images, and audio. We have endless headroom here.

If you're looking for Botan's history in Ruxomar, you'll find it. If you're hoping for a glimpse into Akemi and Mina's lives, you'll get it. If you seek all manner of strange World Historian lore, consider it yours. If you just wanna sink your teeth into a juicy hunk of Mianite meat, go get a napkin, you menace.

We have plenty of chapters to take us from the past, to the future, and back again. I could just list the plain facts about World Historian in a lore post, but I could never be satisfied with that. I'm a storyteller.

Disclaimer:

The players own their characters. Most of the dialogue and actions in Session One come straight from the corresponding RP session. I'm just putting it all to a narrative and making readability tweaks for first-timers.

MIANITE GODS AREN'T THE ONLY ONES!!

Yes, the world's are ancient and the filled with Gods and entities that sadly have been forgotten over time. It's uncommon to meet a worshiper that doesn't follow one of the sibling Gods but it's positive

A small village hidden away on a mushroom island housed a very rare religion.

Void worshiping.

Lady Void is a mischievous, hungry and powerful entity. It was compared to a siren because of its influence over any and all living creatures.

The call of the Void.

Was considered to be the entity reaching out and taunting its followers to join her. Anyone who followed the call of the void ended up giving their life away to her, feeding her.

Void is ruthless and it's everywhere: lava lakes in the nether; the sky; the ocean; even the mind itself housed void according to worshipers. That's why it was worshiped back then, unfortunately fear destroyed everything. Worshiping the Sun or the Moon was less lethal. (but the goddess of Death exists and no one bats an eye.. SOCIETY)

Many other religions developed explanations for the phenomenon. One of the most widely accepted one is: Ianite, though a keeper of the End, was placed in charge of the ocean to keep the Void at bay. Mortals believed the darkness of the ocean was the void spilling out into the overworld from old forgotten end portals trapped deep bellow surface level.

Void song.

Pete was born with an ability to hear the Void. His family believed it was just a child's imagination being too reactive to the worship around him. But he was on the same soul wave as the Void itself. It's an extremely rare phenomenon to be born on the same soul wave as a deity. Such mortals always went on to become the right hand of the deity and was valued as a bride between the God and the mortals.

Void worshiping is such an old practice even Void itself gave up on trying to reach anyone herself, she just sang and sang her endless sad song calling anything that could hear her to come merge with her, to feed her.

She sung beautifully, truly a siren but Pete never had the urge to follow. Until she realized she had an audience.

For millennia she wasn't able to connect with her worshipers, fearmongering and deliberate erasure destroyed her presence as a Goddess. Without power of the rituals and offerings she was reduced to just an entity. Her worshipers carried on what was left of the religion, not enough to nurture Void back to its glory but enough to keep her a sentient being.

Her first intent with Pete was to guide him to her, to the End and consume him. But Pete never understood her call. Only enjoyed the melody of her voice. A language barrier stopped her mischievous hunger. Instead her mission became to restore the language and traditions of the past, to nurture herself back to glory.

That's why Pete hears voices and most importantly singing, he's being guided, taught a language. Sometimes he gets visions of the sea, she wants him to find a specific abandoned End portal, one that used to lead to her humble temple. Sometimes he gets an urge to do a little ritual his mother taught him, but change a few things, mix up the order of the steps just for fun. He's having fun with his personal traditions not exactly wanting to have his identity wrap around them nor sharing with anyone. His only audience is Sparklez. The demigod was fascinated by traditions and cultures of the Gods and other creatures. Captain was the only one who got to unknowingly witness and experience the true Void worshiping, guided by the Lady Void itself through Petezahhutt.

“On the positive side, we haven't woken up in a prison, so things aren't the worst they could be,” Tom said, trying to reassure both the reasonably worried women.

Like, sure they might be in an unknown world with absolutely no idea how they were going to get home. But they seemed to be in a medical tent which was certainly better than the cell he'd woken in in Ruxomar.

“Are you three criminals then?” Tom's eyes widened as he realised he had said the exact wrong thing as a stranger had wandered in.

“Not last I checked,” Martha said, standing up with a smile. She just hoped her read of the girl being more curious than scared was correct. 

She looked to be around the same age as Andor and Alyssa. A teenager who was just about an adult. That was the detail that Martha held in her head because it was one thing she could deem as normal.

That was quite a thought for a woman that currently found herself in the company of two zombies. But the girl staring at them with a tilted head was completely blue which, given that she didn’t seem to be undead in any way, was odd even for their group.

“I mean it's okay if you are. I've done crime!” The teenager said a little too upbeat.

Martha stared at her, taken aback, as Tom started cracking up. “Like mostly just theft… and doing business without a licence.”

She bounced on her heels.

“Oh and--!”

She turned away from them all. 

“Altair! Is it identity theft if you only steal their identity for like a day?”

“Yes!” A voice called back. “...Wait, what are you doing?!”

As Martha continued to just stand mouth agape, and the teenager seemed to be obliviously making whatever others were here with her panic, Tom strode over to Capsize. He threw an arm over her, grinning. 

“Seems we've landed somewhere fun.”
