I do find the idea of Mario and Luigi never wanting to learn the implications of how they were conceived amusing 🤭

Biology context (for those who don’t know), identical twins are created when a fertilised egg in the womb splits. Whereas fraternal twins (which is what Mario and Luigi are) are created from two separate fertilised eggs at the same time.

So either there is genetic help from either their mother or father, or their parents had some game! 🤭

There is also a rare phenomena called superfetation, which involves twins being conceived up to three weeks apart. Again, it is rare.

I can just imagine Mama Mario almost spilling details during family conversation, while Papa is red faced and embarrassed alongside his sons 😳

Or when the boys start dating and Mama tried to tell them to use protection "like their father always did".

Needless to say the boys don't want to hear that part 🤭🤭🤭

I imagine being around other Smashers from Super Smash Bros. does wonders for Samus' self-esteem and emotional well-being. Not in a sarcastic "haha we're comparing traumas wheeee" kind of way, but because SO DANG MANY Smashers are so very insightful, compassionate, and caring in their own ways and would want to see her have some measure of peace and help her heal.

The Smash Crew (with the obvious exception of fucking Ridley and probably Dark Samus too I dunno) is Ride or Die for Samus Aran and they will not hesitate to remind her at every given opportunity.

Mario x Anastasia AU

(no references to the real life Anastasia! Just the movie)

- Mario and Luigi are princes of a kingdom. When they are young, they are each gifted small music boxes - a sun and a moon respectively.

- One day, Bowser attacks their kingdom to conquer, and take its power for himself.

- King Pio stays behind to fend his forces off, and is killed in the attack. Meanwhile, Mia manages to get the twins as far away as possible, before she too is killed by Bowser's forces.

- The twin princes rush to a train that will take them to safety. Mario pushes Luigi on first, but is unable to hold onto Luigi's hand, and he falls, hitting his head and falling unconscious. Luigi screams as the train carries him away from his brother.

- Years later, Mario (now 18 and going by the name "Maurice") grows up in an orphanage, with only one thing that is his own - a small box in the shape of a sun, that plays the most beautiful music. He doesn't remember who he is, other than this box is very important to him, and he feels like he has been missing something...

- Determined to find out who he is, "Maurice" sets off on a journey, with only the music box and an anonymous message inscribed on the back of it: "Nothing can hurt us,"

- On his journey, "Maurice" comes across two con artists, Toad and DK, who are looking to pass off an unsuspecting young man as the Prince, and claim the award from Prince Luigi.

- Along the way though, "Maurice" ends up growing closer to Toad and DK, and both con artists start to being to rethink their scheme...

- Meanwhile, Prince Luigi has grown up in the safety of the Mushroom Kingdom (where the train took him) and has been living with his uncles who had already took up residence there long before. His friend, Princess Peach and the ruler of said kingdom, offers support, but he is far from consolable...

- Every year, on the anniversary of his brother's disappearance, Luigi looks up at the stars, and holds his moon shaped music box, praying that he will be united with his brother again one day.

*points below discuss the AU's ending. Some spoilers for the Anastasia movie*

- By the time the odd trio reach the Mushroom Kingdom, Toad, having by now had a change of heart, truly believes "Maurice" is actually the missing Prince Mario, and encourages him to see Prince Luigi.

- However, upon seeing "Maurice", Luigi flies into a rage. Having been tricked numerous times in the past by imposters claiming to be his brother, the Prince is at his breaking point. He comments that it is especially cruel that this imposter looks so much like his brother, and dismisses them.

- Shaken up by the disastrous reunion, "Maurice" realises that Toad and DK were just using him to con Prince Luigi and get the reward money. Furious, "Maurice" proclaims he never wants to see them ever again, and runs off in tears. More lonely and broken than ever...

- Toad seeks out Prince Luigi and "kidnaps" him in his kart, begging the Prince to listen and meet with "Maurice". Toad reveals he worked under their parents as a very young toad, and witnessed the two of them escaping with their mother. More hopeful, but still unsure, Luigi agrees to meet with "Maurice" in the fire flower field.

- Meanwhile, DK also corners "Maurice" and attempts to apologise for the way that they used him. DK reveals that he too is actually a Prince. After Bowser lost track of the missing Prince Mario, he sought to attack other kingdoms, in order to gain and build up an army once again. Even in his weakened state, Bowser still managed to do a lot of damage. This left the other kingdoms, including the Kong Kingdom, in a financial crisis. DK shamefully had to turn to being a con artist, as this proved to be the easiest way to make money to support his struggling kingdom.

- Hearing all of this, "Maurice" feels the need to forgive them.

- Toad unites with the pair and tells "Maurice" that Luigi is willing to talk to him. Shaking with fear and excitement, "Maurice" agrees to meet the Prince.

- The two beings, the Lonely Prince and the Lost Soul, meet in the fire flower field. "Maurice" reveals his music box, with the inscription on the back.

"Where did you get that?", asks Prince Luigi shakily.

"I've had it since as long as I can remember...", says "Maurice". "Please. Just tell me. Who am I?"

"as long as we're together."

- And then in that moment, both men are overcome with emotion. They pull each other tight, hugging and crying, finally reunited after all this time.

- But soon after Bowser returns to claim both Princes, and Mario and Luigi have to team up together again to stop him! All is then at peace, and the brothers and their new friends continue to live peacefully 🙂

After the parents of my favorite king and princesses, I think it was time to make the family of my favorite beloveds, with that I present to you...

✨The Super Mario Bros Family✨

I really loved the Mario movie, one of my favorite things was that they introduced Mario and Luigi's family, I loved them a lot and I really want them to be in the next movie.

Pio Mario is Mario and Luigi's father, even though he is cold, he does everything to protect his children from any danger. {Here's another weird headcanon of mine, I imagine he has the nickname Charles, to honor Charles Martinet, and like his brothers Arthur and Tony called him that since they were little}

Mia Mario is Mario and Luigi's mother, she is the kindest person the Mario brothers have ever met, even though she is kind she is very brave like Pio.

Uncle Arthur Mario is considered one of Mario and Luigi's younger uncles, he is like the funny uncle along with his twin brother Tony.

Uncle Tony Mario is Mario and Luigi's uncle, he Pio's younger brother and Arthur's twin brother.

Aunt Marie Mario She is Mario and Luigi's aunt, even though she is not Italian, she is a great aunt to her nephews and her daughter Marylin, her energy is similar to Daisy.

Marilyn Mario is Mario and Luigi's younger cousin, unlike her cousins, she just lives in boredom and loves video games and comics.

Salvator is Mario and Luigi's grandfather, he is very similar to Mario, especially when he was still dating his wife, they have a relationship like Mareach.

I wrote some headcanons and my theory to relate the Mario movie and Yoshi's island 💞💞💞

Headcanons:

-> If you're wondering how tall they are, they are as follows: Pio is 1.73m, Mia is 1.70m {Same as Luigi's height}, Arthur is 1.74m, Marie is 1.73m, Tony is 1.75m, Marilyn is 1.47m and Salvator is 1.55m. {Same as Mario}

-> Exactly Pio, Arthur and Tony are brothers, people say that Pio is the oldest and Arthur and Tony are twins, but I like my idea that the three are triplets, but it even makes sense that Pio is the oldest and Arthur and Tony as younger twin brothers, Mia probably comes from another family, but I like to think she's also Italian.

-> If you are a fan of the Mario movie and Yoshi's Island, you must be wondering how all that happened on Yoshi's Island, for that you will have to pay close attention to the details and remembering another thing, these are MY headcanons and I am NOT that good at theories, so here is the story:

-> First some information, Mario and Luigi are some of the children who were blessed by the stars, this means that they were actually born in MK, now that my headcanon comes in, Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS were the only ones that happened in my AU, it turns out that after Pio and Mia's wedding, they both loved exploring places, just like Mario and Luigi in the games and in the movie, one day they discovered the tube that appeared in the Mario movie, they fell into the tube, just like the brothers, and ended up in MK, they both loved that place, so much so that Mia discovered that she would have children there, Tony, Arthur and Mario and Luigi's grandparents lived there for a while.

That's where Yoshi's Island comes in. It turns out that Kamek predicted that the Mario brothers would ruin Bowser's plans and so he kidnapped them. But Yoshi and his friends saved them and took them to their family. The family was very grateful to the Yoshis. But after some weeks, Yoshi's Island DS happened. Kamek not only kidnapped Mario and Luigi, but Peach, Wario and Donkey Kong, but the Yoshis and their gang managed to do it again. But the story doesn't end here...

-> As I said in the MK headcanons, Kamek invaded Peach's castle to try to kidnap her, but her parents fled to the real world, but the sorcerer was not satisfied, with the only option, kidnapping Mario and Luigi, with that he went to Pio and Mia's house, but the two decided to flee to the real world, they found a way, but it was difficult, but Arthur and Tony helped them, because they would do anything for their brothers and nephews, the six and the grandparents managed to leave MK for the real world.

-> I can't say if at the time that all this happened, Arthur knew Marie since in my headcanon Mario and Luigi are 25 years old and Marilyn is between 12 or 13 years old, I can perhaps say that he fell in love with her while the boys were growing up (This is based on me and my brother in real life, because when my brother had just been born, my godmother was still married to my uncle, but when my cousin was born, they separated and my brother barely remembers my uncle 😔).

-> I have no ideas for making the Mario brothers' grandmother, but I have some interesting facts about her: 1) She has a twin sister, 2) She is a GREAT cook and 3) Her name could be Giovanna or Rosie (I read it in a fic by Mareach and Luaisy where Mario's mother said his grandmother's name and her name was Rosie and I liked it).

{My god so many headcanons about them was so good for me because this week has been shit at school😞}

And I ended up here with Mario's family in my Mario AU, then I'm going to do Spirit Animal Kingdom and Sheila because MagicalHyena has been reminding me all week.

I haven't watched the new movie yet, but I'm not afraid of spoilers. The boys are adorable and always have been. I've loved them since I was little and yes, LUIGI GAL FOR LIFE!💖

But since it seems people are falling for them all over again, I thought I'd bring them back out of the margins of my notes in school and give them some proper attention on here.

(I also headcanon Luigi legit feels more confident in a disguise {like cosplaying honestly} so I could see him being more bold in that old Mr. L outfit plus he looks so cute in it)

He's-a Gone

Luigi time! To suffer, that is.

This is obviously a sort of comlementary piece to I Was-a Too Late. But it's more than just that as it also illustrates a certain fun, dark what-if idea I had. Please keep reading if you're intrigued!

Lore:

Luigi's Mansion, the first game. Everything goes the same as in canon until the final boss fight, when Luigi defeats King Boo in his Bowser costume. After King Boo comes out and Luigi intends to suck him in, the villain laughs and reveals the truth: Mario's painting was an illusion, so was everything Madame Clairvoya saw. All just to mess with Luigi. Meanwhile the real Mario wasn't just captured by the Boos, he was immediately killed by them on their King's orders. The only physical thing that's left of him in this realm is the five items Luigi found - hidden by the Boos for Luigi to find, another part of King Boo's sick game.

Luigi is able to finish the fight despite his shock and grief, fueled by the anger King Boo never expected from him. After getting out of the painting the plumber discovers that it is indeed empty, no Mario or anyone else in the portrait.

Heartbroken and guit-ridden, Luigi goes back to Professor E. Gadd's lab and gives him back the Poltergust 3000. He doesn't even want to stay long enough to see what is going to happen to the ghosts. Of course the Professor tries to offer some semblance of comfort, but we all know it's not his forte.

So Luigi leaves, only taking Mario's five items with him. He notices that the mansion has disapeared without a trace. The reality of it all finally hits him, and he practically collapses onto a nearby tree's large root protruding from the ground, putting down the precious items around himself, only leaving the matching red hat and the letter in his hands. He should have known something was off. After all, the Mario he saw in the painting was wearing his hat and both gloves.

Looking at all these items, to his growing horror he can't help but imagine what exactly might have happened to his brother and what his last moments might have been like. He hugs the hat to his chest and rereads Mario's note several times, knowing that the brief warning was his brother's last words to him.

Luigi can do nothing but cry for the beloved brother he couldn't save, desperately wishing it was his warm, living and breathing body pressed to his chest rather than just a couple of his belongings.

But Mario is truly gone, apparently having met such a horrific fate that not even a single part of his body is left in the physical world.

…I'll leave the rest up to your imagination ;) Sorry if I got carried away with my description. Occasionally even I enjoy being a little dramatic, though I'm no writer whatsoever.

Yeah, I'm not apologizing for making this one - I was nicer to Luigi than to his bro, at least here the Mushroom Kingdom and everyone in it (except for Mario lol) is still okay!

Hellu it me again! Now I noticed that Luigi (as a kid) hangs out with E. Gadd and polterpup but would Mario (teen) hang out with Toad and Mia (the kitty) and start acting like a child like he's supposed to be.

I forgot about the Boos and Gooigi but that's ok because I think Mario would because to see a clone of himself or dead people.
