Composed for Mitchell Sturges in 2024. A majestic, neoclassical setting of Psalm 47, based on The Jewish Publication Society’s “The Holy Scriptures According to the Masoretic Text: A New Translation” (1917) and “The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein”.

Some choral writing today, with an emphasis on some of the chords that have been interesting me lately. Specifically, the minor6 chord with an added major 7th, the minor b6 b9 chord that I've used in a few studies already, and a major add4 chord like in my Ionian mode studies.
I chose six-part because four voices simply isn't enough to express the chords I wanted. I could have written divisi into a standard SATB choir, but then the six parts wouldn't have been balanced equally.
