How was meeting the wife?

Actually really chill. She was nice and her partner was also there so the four of us all passed a joint around while she made us all dinner and we chatted a bit. But I got to spend most of my night alone with Panda, which was great and now that we’ve broken the ice on this polycule, I think we’re all gonna be a lot more comfortable sharing the house and stuff during overnights. Things look bright for our future. 🌻

So, aside from election and American dystopia stress, we also got some not great news about my father-in-law's health yesterday. It was not surprising news persay, but it was definitely of the worst case variety. My Husbeast and I had a grand old cry about all of our various stresses yesterday evening.

Here's one of the good things about our poly circle, though. We have an amazing support system because of it. I reached out to Husbeast's partners, our packmate, and my boyfriend with the news of my father-in-law. Everyone offered their support in their own ways, and I am *so* thankful to have these amazing people in our lives.

And tonight, my Mijnheer granted me a date night that let me set aside those stresses for a blessed few hours. It was the rest my brain needed to be able to pick back up the threads of my resolve, and start to stitch them back together again. He also joked around easily with the Husbeast when they interacted, which was also sorely needed.

Love like this is something I never want to take for granted. And love like this is one of the things I will hold onto fiercely, fight for, and try to keep in my heart throughout whatever is to come.

...I'm masked because my body decided a head cold for the 7th weekend of Ren Faire was a grand idea. Fortunately, my Husbeast, friends, staff, and metamours have all been helping out and I have been able to rest most of today. I have good tribe. Two more weekends of Faire, and then I can really recover from the season.
