As a pre-dental student at UCLA, I frequently imagine and strive towards what I believe is my ideal/peak self. My ideal/peak self is someone who is dependable, inspiring and strong, both physically and mentally. I imagine my ideal self to be someone who is not only at their best physically, through being healthy, working out and maintaining a sustainable lifestyle, but also someone who is strong and at their best mentally. My ideal self is always happy, able to be optimistic and unwavering in the face of adversity. My ideal self is confident and willing to help out others however he can. 

In my ideal life I would have no regrets. I would achieve all my goals and dreams and I would be happy every day and be surrounded by people who I love and who love me. In that ideal life, I’ve successfully fulfilled my dream of becoming an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon (maybe) or some type of dentist and I live very comfortably money-wise and I have enough for my family, my loved ones and for charity. I have enough time to watch my kids grow up, preferably 3 kids, and I have a loving wife. In my ideal life I live in a nice house near where I grew up, Mira Mesa, and I live near my parents and am able to take care of them as they grow, as they took care of me when I was young. In this ideal life I don’t regret or wish I did anything differently and I enjoy each day to its fullest.

In order for me to reach my ideal self, I know that I have many life habits I need to work and improve on. My ideal self has habits that contribute to a healthier lifestyle, such as consistently working out, eating healthy, maintaining my hygiene, sleeping well, studying hard and communicating how I feel with others. One important life habit I hope to develop throughout my time in college is effectively studying. I feel like I struggle a lot in being able to manage my time wisely to study for my classes, something that is crucial for the path I want to take. 

In my ideal life I’ve also picked up hobbies that allow me to feel fulfilled and challenged. One hobby I’ve always enjoyed yet never really had the time to pursue has been rock climbing and bouldering. I climbed a lot during summer but due to the expensive costs of a membership I wasn't ever really able to pursue it, and in my ideal life I have the freedom and time to practice and get better. I love the feeling on a top rope climb of being so near the top, but being so exhausting, yet choosing to push through and finish. The satisfaction and fulfillment I’ve felt is something that I’ve always chased for in my life, and I hope down the line that never stops.

Snow Family Dentistry

Dallin R. Snow D.M.D is a homegrown product of the Valley of the Sun—born and raised in Mesa, AZ. He is passionate about dentistry, smiles, oral health and healthy teeth. He did not always want to be a dentist. That desire came while in college after seeing the joy his dad felt when helping his patients as a dentist. Dr Snow graduated from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine–AZ in 2014, and can proudly says "I love dentistry!" Before dental school, he spent two years in Argentina for an LDS mission. Then received a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree from Utah State University both in Nutrition Science.
