"Memoria" - for as long as I can remember I never really had a great memory. Always struggling in school to memorize all the things we needed to learn by heart instead of through practise, I kept thinking it wasn't fair as a few friends of mine could glance threw pages and remember enough to pass. These days I feel it has only gotten worse. I've become completelly reliant on writting down everything that I need or want to remember. Hundreds of notes of dates, names, numbers and I realise that it's only making it worse. By writting it down I'm not training my memory "muscles". But if I won't write it down I won't remember.Childhood and adulthood memories are few and far between. Feels like if I wanted to make a book of my life I could berely fill a panflet. So for this piece I tried imagining memory as a being. Something that pulls on certain strings and pushes others down into the abyss. Fragile little bubbles that pop or stay afloat forever. With no rime or reason some seemingly pointless events are as clear as day while others, there's only gentle feelings of it happening. I don't think our memories are talked and discussed enough these days. Those who have good ones can't really imagine having a bad one. And those with bad ones sometimes only make them worse by thinking about it too much. Somehow it feels like it's given rather than trained. Which is most likely not true at all. Memories form us into who we are today. But there's also a certain sense of freedom when you're not bound by the bad ones.
