United Airlines Boeing 737-800 Plane Lands in Medford, Oregon With Missing External Panel After Taking Off From SFO

CW: pet death Sometime during the night of January 16th, 2021, my old tom Snookerdoodle passed away at the age of nineteen. I had been concerned about his recent lethargy, weight loss, and reduced appetite, and had planned to set up a vet visit, but unfortunately he passed too soon and too suddenly for that. Snookie was the last of my family pets. He came to us at around a year and a half year old, from a friend who could no longer keep him. He was scared and skittish from the start, and spent most of his first few weeks with us hiding in our hall closet, in a crawlspace at the back which extended under the stairs. My mom crawled in through the coats and boots, day after day, to bring him food and give him company. Eventually he emerged, proving to be a deeply loving creature, always desperate for attention. He was my mom’s cat first and foremost, until the progression of her illness forced her into full time care, but he adored people. As long as he had human company, and maybe some tuna treats, he was content. I confess I sometimes found it difficult in the last years of his life to give him the attention he craved, because his craving was without limit. But I tried to keep him safe and loved and happy. He is the longest-lived cat I ever cared for, and I can only hope his life was a happy one. It’s already eerie to experience such silence in the house. Sometimes I swear I can hear his claws clicking on the floor, or I half expect to find him in his favorite winter spot, curled up by the heating vent in the bathroom. Believing as I do in an afterlife of some kind, I hope above all that he has been restored to his health and youth, and reunited with my mother, similarly restored and able once again to look after him. I know that my memories of him will fade with time. But for now, they are fresh: his tiger stripes and golden eyes, his stubbornness, his persistence, his greed for affection, treats, sunlight and catnip. I’ll miss him. Rest in peace, old man. “Lydia Maria Francis was born in Medford, Massachusetts, on February 11, 1802. Her father, David Convers Francis, baker and real-estate operator, combined shrewd business ability with sympathy for his fellow man. It was from him that this youngest of his six children derived her fondness for reading, her antislavery convictions, and her quick wit. Yet Mr. Francis was enough of a man of his time not to show tenderness too openly to any of his children or friends; and while all duly respected him, the people loved his wife. The poor knew who would help them when their larders were empty or their woodboxes low. On Thanksgiving Eve, Mrs. Francis set out Indian puddings and spicy pumpkin pies for any comers to her kitchen. Often twenty or thirty—the wood sawyer, the washerwoman, even the peddlers—went on their way with fragrant bulging packs. The Francis children learned early to live simply themselves but to be generous to others. Mrs. Francis taught little Maria the selflessness which was to motivate so much of her life.
Maria was proud to have been born in Medford-on-the-Mystic, which boasted of having been the first town in New England to shelter a fugitive slave. Even as a small girl, Maria's eyes smarted whenever she heard about that hunted man, Caesar, and the agonies he had endured until he found a haven in her town. Slavery had been outlawed in Massachusetts only six years before she was born but she heard her father fume that other states still permitted it and that he, for one, spurned the thought that one man could own another, whatever the color of his skin. Maria longed to hug him for sounding so right and brave and strong; and somehow, when his youngest burst at him affectionately, he never reproved her. Her years in Medford were rich with the wonderful tales she heard. Some of her own uncles were among the heroes who lay in the burying ground down Dead Man's Alley. Her grandfather, Benjamin Francis, was one of the Yankees at Concord and had killed five British redcoats himself.
Yet stories such as those were not to Maria's liking. She did not want to think about graves; wet paddy fingers seemed to run up and down her back. There was something awfully damp about death. But there were other grandfather stories she did like and when he taught her about the woods, the call of the bobolink, and the spot so secret where the wild ginger grew, she was enthralled. Together they found arrowheads left long before by the Indians, and mosses that grew on rock, tree, and brookside. And elderberries, blackberries, and huckleberries. And bayberry for candles and pennyroyal and sage and endless other herbs. Her mother's lessons were of a more domestic character. She taught Maria about a proper dooryard garden, marigolds, lobelia and hollyhocks, how to encourage flowers to flaunt their bravest color, how to store their seeds away for the winter safe from dampness and mice. Mrs. Francis had the prettiest garden in town. Flowers seemed to love her too.
The best days of all were when big brother Convers took Maria to watch the shipbuilders at work. Convers was careful to keep her out of the way of flying mallets or sailors' harsh words, and she retained the mixed fragrance of wood shavings and tar in her memory for the rest of her days. There were four shipyards to visit, one at each bend of the river. Best of all was a school holiday, the day of a ship's launching, a day to get away from the drudgery of ABCs and the piffly things that Marm Betty, Maria's snuff-stained first teacher, considered important.
Poor old Marm Betty ran her Dame School as best she could while trying to forget the shame of having been caught one dreadful day by Governor Brooks drinking tea in her back parlor out of the spout of the pot! That episode had made Marm Betty shy of looking grownups straight in the face, but she was kinder to children than ever. Maria loved her old teacher and learned to read and write with her, but it was really Convers, six years her senior, who taught her most.
Convers was the dominant influence in her early years. He read everything to her and they talked it over. Though he teased her, she did her best to keep up with him, and her questions were likely to make him dream up fantastic answers rather than to have to admit that he did not know. When they read Paradise Lost, she asked him the meaning of "the raven down of darkness." "That's easy," answered the superior male. "Can't you see? It's the fur of a black cat that sparkles when it gets stroked." He was pretty pleased with himself by that but it did not make a bit of sense to her. Convers was his father's assistant in the bakeshop and every day after classes, he and Maria studied in the steamy, fragrant oven room. Mr. Francis' motto was, "Whatever you try, whatever you do, is worth doing well." Therefore he expected his son to be an expert baker.
The Francis product was famous, as famous as the Medford rum which smelled heavenly but made strong men silly after a few tots. The Francis product was good for you—a cracker that was not a cracker at all but a sweet butter cookie made with great labor. It was misnamed "cracker" because the dough, while baking, had to be pricked at the sides to let the steam escape, which caused it to crack into equal halves when finished. Often Maria begged Convers to let her push the doughy bits around the floor with his long-handled shovel, but he said she was too small and too fat and too ignorant. Despite her big brother's insults, life was very lonely for her when he went off to Harvard to study for the ministry and left her alone with the books they had read together. Her parents tried to lessen her loneliness by giving her a thick leather Bible in which they inscribed, "A reward due to merit and proof of parental affection," but while Maria studied the Good Book and learned long sections by heart, she felt that piety could not fill the void of Convers' absence.
Even at that age, religion as she knew it just did not give enough. When she was twelve, she learned the beginning of real sorrow. The eldest of her brothers and sisters were almost strangers to her, married and living away. Convers was at Harvard. Only Mary, slightly older than Convers, and Maria were left at home when Mrs. Francis began to waste away of a mysterious "lethargic affliction," a form of tuberculosis. The poor mother wanted desperately to help her youngest.
Perhaps, as mothers will, she foresaw the dangers of an overgenerous, over-loyal spirit, and a dash of romance that sometimes put her little daughter's practical self far, far away. In a reedy voice broken with long nights of coughing, the mother told her child: "When you are older, when trouble comes to you, remember what I say. The Bible will help you when all else fails, Maria. Turn to it for your comfort. Help your father when I am gone. He will need you."
The girl, distressed by what she could not understand, ran out of the room. She could not bear to look at her mother's flushed, thin face or at the veined claw she held out for a sip of water. Maria hated her mother for being sick and she hated herself for her own selfishness, but she could not change either one. Her mother was going to die like so many others and lie in one of those damp, mossy graves and be food for worms. Ugh! The world was a gray, ugly place. Four months after the funeral came another blow.
Mary Francis asked her father's permission to marry Warren Preston and move away to the District of Maine. Maria and her father would be left alone in the big brick house on the corner of Ashland and Salem streets—Maria and this man who practically never showed affection to anyone. Now Maria understood why her mother had asked her to be loving to him. On the day of the wedding, Maria was miserable. Instead of needing her, everyone acted as though she were in the way.
While Mary put the spices in the wine punch, the young sister slipped out of the house and ran down to her secret cave by the river where she brooded all day without a thing to eat, sure she would starve before they came to find her. She longed to have anyone, anyone, even her Aunt Lydia whom she loathed, come to look for her, but no one did. Out in the channel the current moved swiftly, but here under the trees it was quiet and dark, and she stared into the depths and saw shadows behind her reflection. She was afraid, afraid of the loneliness of that big house with only her busy father for company.
"Mother, Mother, why did you leave me? " she sobbed. She dawdled by the water until Mary and her bridegroom had left for Norridgewock, Maine. Then she went home, half hoping that her father would pay enough attention to her to scold. Dusk was falling and a lighted lamp stood in the window. Her father sat in front of the fire, head bowed, waiting for her. She came in timidly. He looked at her, his face lighted in a tender smile, and he opened his arms. He greeted her as he would greet her for another fifty years. "You're welcome home, Maria."”

“For mad I may be, but I will never be convenient.”
― Jennifer Donnelly, Revolution
Quincy Ruins, June 2288
Charlie hadn’t lived in Massachusetts for long when the bombs fell. She and Nate moved up from West Virginia in July of 2077, she’d gotten a position as a postdoctoral fellow in neuropsychology at Medford Memorial Hospital, more than a little excited to make use of her shiny new degree. Shaun was born two months later. After spending most of her life moving from place to place for her education, she was ready to settle down. She never made it that far.
Needless to say, she’d also never made it down to Quincy. Though, at the moment, she desperately wished she had.
Preston had this way of looking at her sometimes when he thought she didn’t notice, a lingering glance over his shoulder, a careful observation of her face as if he expected to find some twinkle of pre-war nostalgia in her eyes when entering a new area, memories from a time when the air didn’t reek of sulfur and rotting flesh, and no one had to worry whether or not they’d be run out of their homes and mowed down by mercenary cults. She could offer him no solace. She could barely even look him in the eyes.
In more comfortable times over the past eight months since they had met, he simply asked her if she was familiar with locations or landmarks. Once, he asked her if she had fought in the Battle of Bunker Hill, and she informed him that she was two hundred and thirty-seven years old, not well over five hundred. His smile had wrinkled up his eyes that day as he laughed away the embarrassment. Today, there were no stories to be told, no jokes or laughter, just Preston, Charlie, Amelia, a handful of other Minutemen and a large pile of ashes that used to have names.
“I don’t like this,” Charlie muttered, more to herself than anything.
She jumped when Preston replied, “Me neither. Not one bit.”
She hadn’t expected him to hear her, or even pay attention. She could barely see his eyes from under the shadow cast by his hat, but she didn’t need to see to know that he wasn’t okay. He wasn’t one to wear the overwhelming grief he experienced on his face, anyway. The last time they’d visited a Minutemen graveyard, as the Lexington Super Duper Mart had turned out to be, he had to excuse himself from a barricaded room filled with deceased members of the militia. She found him in the feral-corpse littered hallway, green around the gills and sweating. He didn’t have a weak stomach, but reminders of his loss seemed to impact him viscerally. She wondered how he managed to keep his composure now, standing in the place where it all started.
She was drawn from her thoughts by a thunderous boom that left her ears ringing. She hated that noise. Looking up towards the direction of the blast she saw a small, mushroom-cloud pouring up from a nearby building. A fucking nuke. Hadn’t people learned a damn thing?
Charlie scanned the area for someone holding a Fat Man. She’d been toe-to-toe with wielders of those atrocities enough times to know that she had to act, and fast. Movement on the roof of the nearby church. Just right if the belfry stood a large figure, someone in power armor, with the exact weapon. Without another thought, she charged in his direction. If she got close enough in range she could keep him from firing again. He wouldn’t get another shot. Not if she had anything to do with it.
She tangled with very few Gunners on her way to the church, thankfully. Most of them were distracted by the small militia that accompanied her. A couple of grunts took shots at her once she made it inside, but they missed and she fired back, hitting each of them once. She didn’t stop to make sure they were incapacitated. There wasn’t time. She needed to get to the roof.
The stairs that led to the belfry were worn and rickety. In less of a panic, she probably would have made her way up them gingerly, avoiding the obvious areas of dry rot. Still, she managed to make it to the top without event. She hoped the luck would stay on her side just a little bit longer. She just needed to take out the Gunner with the Fat Man, or at least distract them long enough to protect the Minutemen. Her Minutemen.
“Hey,” Charlie shouted, pointing both of her pistols at the man loading a mini nuke into his gun, “Asshole!”
“What the--” he looked up from what he was doing just in time for her ballistic round to strike him between the eyes.
Yes,” she said under her breath. How had she gotten to the point where she felt relief at another person’s death? Is this what the Commonwealth made of all its inhabitants?
She moved in closer to examine the man’s corpse, still standing erect in the power armor shell. A whole lot of good that did him. He was a relatively young man, mid-thirties, and she wondered if he had a family. MacCready had been a Gunner once, he’d told her as they sat drinking whiskey in The Third Rail, bloodstained and bathed in red neon light. It was a gig, a way of making money to support his young son when he had no better options. What if this man had been just like him? Charlie didn’t want to think about it.
Noting a fully loaded, modified laser pistol on the ground near the dead Gunner, she picked it up, discarding both of the 10mms in her hands. They’d just been spares, and she was out of ammo anyway. She also looted a stimpak and a good chunk of caps before standing up and adjusting her belt. A loud crash of metal and puffing of hydraulics rose up from the street beneath her and she rushed to the edge of the roof, crouching to keep out of view.
Preston. A more practical person would have noticed the handlebar mustache wearing the T60 first, the actual source of the commotion, but then again she never claimed to be practical. Why was he alone? Why hadn’t he fallen back to the gates with everyone else, where it was safe? She’d run at a man shooting nukes to protect him and there he was out in the wide open, staring down who could only be the notorious traitor Clint, if the militia hat and sheer aura of son-of-a-bitch were any indication. It was out of character for Preston to be so reckless. Maybe he’d forgotten that was her job.
The two men spoke, but she was too far away to make out any of the conversation. She’d never seen Preston look so visibly angry or shaken. She needed to get to him before something bad happened, but she needed to be careful. Frantically, she dug through her various pockets looking for one item in particular. Hoping, praying she still had it.
She smiled and let out a sigh of relief as she pulled the stealth boy from her satchel. That Railroad operative, Deacon, had given it to her as a welcome gift when she’d agreed to help him out. At the time, she’d shrugged it off as a passive aggressive commentary on her lack of discretion. She’d have to thank him next time they crossed paths.
Charlie rushed back inside the church tower, and down the rickety steps as quickly as she could, flipping open the cap of the stealth boy and pressing the button as she did so. By the time she reached the street, she was completely invisible. Later, when she and Preston were safe and sound back at Sanctuary, she’d ask Sturges how it worked.
As she crept her way up behind Clint, the man reared back and punched Preston so forcefully it sent him flying into an old junked out Corvega parked nearby. She brought her invisible hand to her invisible mouth to keep herself from gasping audibly. As far as she knew, stealth boys weren’t sound proof. She took some deep steadying breaths, ignoring the burn of tears in her eyes. Now wasn’t the time to lose her shit.
Moving into position directly behind Clint, she noticed Preston’s eyes on her. He must have noticed the movement in the air. She lowered the stealth field, watching relief wash over his face as she smiled and drew her finger to her lips. Clint would not take him away from her. She wasn’t in a cryochamber this time, and she would not stand helplessly by and watch someone she loved die. Never again.
“What’s so fucking funny,” she heard him ask Preston who was, despite it all, laughing.
“Nothing man,” Preston answered, slurring his words in a way that made Charlie uneasy, “Nothing at all.”
She took that opportunity to fire, aiming her fancy new pistol at the legs of Clint’s power armor. She had noticed that they were damaged as she moved in, knew it wouldn’t take much to disable them. Sure enough, after a half-dozen or so shots, the T60’s leg’s locked up, forcing the man to jump out. He turned in her direction as soon as he did so.
“You little bitch ,” he snapped, and christ, if Charlie didn’t hate being called a bitch.
He tried to raise his weapon and fire at her, but she’d already pulled the trigger, launching a blast of burning red energy into his chest, and filling her nostrils with the sterile scent of ozone. She holstered her weapon and hovered over him for a minute, shaking her head. “I’m not a bitch.”
Charlie then brought her eyes back up to Preston, where he sat leaned up against the car, worry tightening her chest. It wasn’t a good sign that he hadn’t even tried to stand up yet, so unlike him to not make an attempt to brush off his injuries and press forward. She ran over and knelt down in front of him, cupping his face in her hands and turning it to the left, then the right to check for any signs of external bleeding. When she saw nothing more than a couple of superficial scrapes she brought up her pip boy and flashed a bright beam of light into each of his eyes.
Shit , she thought, but hid her worry behind a laugh as he flinched and squirmed away from the light. Only one of his pupils had responded to the flash, which meant that he had a concussion at the very least. She refused to entertain the other possibilities at the moment. The tears she had held back just minutes earlier returned to her eyes, and she didn’t fight them this time.
“You’re okay,” she told him, kissing his forehead reflexively, “Looks like you might have a concussion, but you’re safe. I’m here.”
He blinked up at her a few times, and she wished she could live up to that version of her that reflected in his eyes. She wished desperately that she could be everything he needed her to be, but with Shaun, and the Institute, and--
“You’re really scary sometimes,” he interrupted her snowballing thoughts, a smirk twitching at the corners of his mouth, “You know that?”
She knew she shouldn’t take any of his concussed statements seriously, but an embarrassed laugh bubbled up from her chest, and she couldn’t hold his gaze. “I’m sorry, I just… I’d just watched Clint knock you into the car, and he was about to kill you, and I just…”
She trailed off, internally chastising herself for failing to conjure up a coherent response. She wasn’t even the one with the head injury. A gentle tap, and tug at her chin guided her eyes back to Preston. He let his hand linger where it was as his smirk turned into a full-on smile.
“No,” he said, laughing softly, and shaking his head, “It’s kinda hot.”
Heat rose to her face and she snorted gracelessly at his compliment. She didn’t know how or what to feel, couldn’t put her finger on why his affection made her so overwhelmingly sad. She shrugged it off and wiped a tear from her face. “Jesus, you hit your head harder than I thought.”
He didn’t respond, and his eyes fluttered closed instead, hand falling limply from her face. Panic surged up into her chest and she leaned forward to catch him from falling over on his side.
“Preston,” she called out frantically, as she repositioned herself so that she could ease his head down onto her lap, removing his hat and setting it on the ground by her hip. “Preston?”
Again, no response. “God damnit,” she snapped, slamming the side of her fist into the metal of the car door behind her, body finally giving into the sobs she’d been fighting, sobs that weren’t solely in response to present events. She doubled over, knuckles turning white around the fabric of his duster she clenched in her fists.
“I’m sorry, Preston,” she whimpered, knowing he couldn’t hear her, knowing it didn’t matter because she would continue to let him down. “I’m so sorry.”
Charlie stiffened at the sound of footsteps, straightening up to see Amelia, her long brown hair flying out of it’s braid, followed by the others who’d accompanied them. She found herself wishing MacCready was there, Codsworth, Sturges, anyone except the contingent of unfamiliar faces peering down at their commanding officer having a temper tantrum. Amelia glanced between Charlie and Preston, pretty blue eyes filled with concern.
“He’s okay,” Charlie explained, scrubbing tears away from her swollen face, “Just unconscious. He hit his head pretty bad.”
“What happened?”
“Clint-- at least I think that guy over there’s Clint-- hit Preston so hard he sent him flying into this,” Charlie pointed to the car behind her and watched as Amelia approached the body of the man Charlie’d just killed.
The woman frowned, shook her head, and kicked the corpse before returning to Charlie’s side. “That’s Clint alright, the bastard.” She offered Charlie a reassuring smile, and then glanced down at Preston, “You got a stimpak on you, General?”
Charlie recalled the one she picked up from the Gunner she’d taken out. She could have slapped herself for not thinking of it sooner. She reached into one of the pouches on her belt and pulled it out, showing it to the other woman.
“Perfect. Let’s give it to Preston, just in case he’s more banged up than he looks.” She took the syringe from Charlie’s shaking hand gently and removed the cap, and jammed it into Preston’s upper arm. He jerked slightly at the pain, but didn’t stir. Amelia continued speaking, “What do you say we have a couple of the boys move him someplace comfy? There are some abandoned apartments up the street.”
“Yes.” Charlie nodded. “What about the--”
“Coast’s clear. Any of the Gunners we didn’t kill ran off.” Amelia smiled. “Quincy’s ours again.”

Boy Genius (Chapter 3)
(Spencer Reid x Malcolm Bright)
He had seen them arrive and when JT went over to greet the FBI agents Malcolm stayed put. Making nice with the agency just wasn’t on his to do list today. That did not, however, mean he hadn’t begun to profile their new coworkers the moment they showed up. It was less than a minute before JT was calling him over, but it was enough.
Malcolm turned and walked over to them, making sure to keep his micro expressions in check. In a matter of seconds he would learn whether these agents knew about him or not, and he wasn’t looking forward to it.
JT introduced him, “Agents this is Malcolm Bright, NYPD profiler. Bright this is-.”
“Agent Morgan,” Malcolm stuck out his hand, and Morgan shook it firmly, “And Dr. Reid”. He did not extend his hand to the doctor, but nodded instead, to which the doctor replied with a small smile.
A sideways glance told him JT was confused, he sighed, “Detective, I’m not deaf, I heard your conversation when they arrived.”
The response was a massive eye roll from JT and a chuckle from Agent Morgan. So far so good. Neither of the agents had seem startled by his presence.
“All right, smart ass,” JT grunted, “Let’s get to work then.”
He led both agents over to the dump site with Malcolm following just behind.
“Both bodies were found lying in this hallway. It had been closed due to construction so that’s why the bodies hadn’t been found before we were called.” JT explained.
“Did the Unsub leave anything behind? Footprints, fingerprints, DNA?” Agent Morgan crouched looking up and down the hallway.
“Nothing that we have identified yet. What did you mean by Unsub?” JT inquired folding his arms.
“It means Unidentified Subject of the Investigation.” Dr. Reid said absently as he walked down the hall a bit, “Have we gotten anything from the CCTV footage?”
JT shook his head ruefully, “There was no footage. The techs said that the cameras had been disabled just before the phone call came into the station.”
Agent Morgan stood, “Surprise surprise, but all the same we should have it sent to our tech analyst Garcia. She might be able to make something of it.” He put his hands on his hips, “This hallway is a dead end, so the only way he could have dumped the bodies here was through the entrance we just came through. There would have been too many people.” He stopped and called out to Dr. Reid who had wandered down the hallway, “Hey, kid what’s going on in that big brain of yours?”
“Just a hunch.” The doctor replied.
“If you’re looking for the trapdoor it’s not above you,” Malcolm spoke after watching them for awhile. He made his way down the hall and gestured to the large tile squares beneath them, “Its below.”
He knelt down and ran his finger above the cracked sealant around one of the squares, “I haven’t pulled it up yet because the forensic team needs to go over it but I’m sure this is how he got in.”
“He most likely made the phone call from here too and then he could reconnect the cameras and watch us find the bodies.” Reid surmised looking down at him.
Malcolm nodded, “That was my thought as well.” He turned to JT and Morgan, “He spent a long time planning this.”
Neither of them replied. Malcolm swiveled back to Dr. Reid who was looking at him intently.
“Do I know you from somewhere?”
Malcolm felt his temperature rising, but the very next second he willed himself to remain completely calm, “I can’t say I’ve had the pleasure, doctor.”
Reid nodded slowly, his mouth slightly agape, “Yeah, sorry must just be my brain mixing you up with someone else.”
Malcolm forced himself to smile, “Not a problem.” He brought himself to a standing position and shoved his right hand in his pocket, “Is there anything else either of you would like to see?”
Agent Morgan shook his head, “I think we’re good for now, how about you, kid?”
“Yeah, all good here.” The doctor replied still glancing at Malcolm.
“All right then we’ll meet you guys back at the station.” JT said to Agent Morgan.
“Sounds good.” He replied.
~
Reid finished rereading the last of the case files they had on Dr. Arthur, and glanced at his watch. It had taken him thirty minutes and forty-six seconds which was a lot longer than it normally took him. His gaze drifted to the same thing it had been ever since they had arrived at the station. Or rather the same person.
“This is Malcolm Bright, NYPD profiler.”
Bright was sitting across from him going through his own stack of case files, seemingly absorbed in his work. Reid wasn’t sure what it was that bothered him about the man, but there was something, off. At first, he’d thought it was some sort of vanity on his part. It was overtly apparent that Bright was the NYPD’s darker, more worldly version of Reid. The way he read a crime scene without much more than a glance spoke of immense talent and he was clearly intelligent, probably more than he let on.
The more he thought about it, however, the more he didn’t think it could be all excused away by something as petty as jealousy. The one thing he was sure of, Bright did not care for the FBI. Reid had watched Bright bristle in a conversation with Rossi over why he hadn’t applied at the BAU. It was the smallest clench of his right fist that gave it away. There was something there...
“Dr. Reid?”
A voice floated past him and then echoed in his head as he realized someone was talking to him.
“Yes, sorry.” Reid blinked and his eyes focused in on Bright’s questioning expression.
“No problem. I just wasn’t sure you heard Dani say they got ID’s on the two victims.” Bright handed him another file.
“I did not, thank you.” Reid took the folder and opened it. Time to focus, he chastised himself. After he finished, he looked up to see see Bright eyeing him with a raised eyebrow.
“I’ve never actually met someone with an eidetic memory before. I’d imagine it would be very useful.”
Reid smiled slightly, “Yes, along with its fair share of drawbacks, and the statistics for an adult having an eidetic memory are-”
“Less than one percent,” Bright finished for him.
Reid pressed his lips together and nodded. He didn’t try to contain his surprise that Bright knew the statistics, instead he moved back to the case.
“Speaking of memory, all of the victims have a lot of background in research or the study of memories. All of them were highly educated, successful, and popular.” A thought struck him, “You know, early on in this case we theorized that Dr. Arthur wasn’t his actual name and that he was most likely not from the same pedigree as his victims.”
Bright nodded while he massaged his right hand, “That could lead to a couple of possibilities. He could have been undereducated or poor and he resents those of a higher social, educational, or economic status than him. The problem with that theory is all of these victims seem, specific. They don’t read like targets of opportunity.”
Reid agreed, “So he must stalk them then. In all cases, the victims weren’t missed for several days and that takes extensive planning.”
“Yes, but why?” Bright stood up and inspected the board, “There’s no criminal history, no dirty laundry in the families, and none of them are involved in any type of ground-breaking research or controversial studies. The last two, Tate Medford and Juan Santos, were still working on their PhD’s.”
Reid tapped his finger on the table as he thought, “The torture clearly makes him a sadist, and we established that he is a pyromaniac just based on his obsession with fire and explosions.”
“So its safe to say he was probably abused, probably by a male figure, a father maybe. I’d say an intelligent one too.” Bright mused.
“What makes you say that?”
Reid glanced over his shoulder and saw that Hotch, Lieutenant Gil, Detective Powell, and JJ had come in. It was JJ that had asked the question.
Bright was now facing them too, “Well, just based on the victims he chooses. They all scored in the thirty’s on the ACT or over 1100 on the SAT, they all went to Ivy league schools or were enrolled in one, salutatorians, valedictorians, debate team champs, editors of the school papers, top athletes, they had scholarships, and I could go on and on and on. It looks like he is obsessed with what society deems intelligent or smart.”
Reid licked his lips, “I agree. It all points to him being angry or at the very least needing a substitute for someone in his life that was very smart.”
“Well why does he need two of them then?” Detective Powell asked with a frown, “and then why does he just go bomb random buildings?”
“That’s the part that just doesn’t make any sense.” JJ replied, “You would think that if it was intelligence he was targeting then he would be bombing schools and museums, but its just old warehouses or apartments.”
The Lieutenant sighed, “I’d say there is a whole lot more that doesn’t make sense besides all that.”
A phone went off and everyone turned to look for the source of the sound. It seemed to be coming from Bright.
He pulled out his device, glanced at the screen, and frowned, “Sorry, I have to take this.”
Reid noted a look that passed between Lieutenant Arroyo and Bright before he left the room but it was gone as quick as it appeared.
Hotch sat down in a chair next to Reid, “A bomb will be going off without warning any time now. If we want a chance at stopping it we need to complete this profile so the police know what they are looking for.”
Everyone nodded and got to work. As he started reading the file on the two new victims again he realized that the uncomfortable feeling he had about Bright had temporarily disappeared but that phone call had brought it back. He needed to know why.

September 17, 2020: 3:40 pm:
Day ten.
The enchiladas are not going to be eaten. There are no forest animals in the creek area that are interested in eating a plate of enchiladas. In the past, that plate would have been cleaned within a few hours.
There should have been interest from some skunks, some raccoons, and some possums. There should have been a mouse or bird that would have eaten some of the food.
I don’t see any reason to continue the experiment, as the food has decomposed beyond to what a possum will eat.
Other things to report today include that the odor of rotting flesh that has been wafting through the woods from the Monroe terror cell, has been reduced to just an occasional faint hint that something died, and rotted away over there. Seriously, the odor was so thick a week ago, that the taste of the odor accompanied the smell as I walked on my driveway past the Monroe terror cell. As I said before, I am convinced that there was dead bodies, either animal or human, or both, contained inside of small boxes, ice chests, or some other containers with lids on them, inside of a shed that is nearby the Offensive Monroe Surveillance Travel Trailer they have parked in the back yard there under a pole barn. When I saw Sandy Monroe go into that shed near the trailer, she opened the lids to some kind of box, I could only see the lid as it was hinged open, then, she appeared to be stirring, turning, or otherwise managing the contents of the containers. That is when the extreme death odor filled the air all around. The odor was thick and unbearable, from my driveway area, to the mailboxes, and into my yard all the way to the opposite side of my yard, farthest away from Monroe’s. I searched all over the place for the source of the dead odor, but there was so much of it, it’s source was not easy to find, until about 10-15 days into the experience of the odor, that is when it became obvious that Sandy Monroe was stirring up the odor from that shed.
No help has come.
There are no signs of helpful people anywhere to be found.
The conditions I encountered in Grants Pass and Medford yesterday are such that the terror army has become more aggressive than ever before. They still remain stealth in their ways, and are not easy to detect, but for me, knowing of their ways, I am inclined to say that the terror army has become complacent to their own ways, and are doing their terror in what I would say, is a sloppy, non-careful sort of way. For twenty years, they have been so careful not to expose themselves or what they do, that I could not easily see what I already knew was happening, mass murder in public places, invisibly, but now, yesterday was revealing, that they are far less concerned about being seen, and their terror ways, their character acting, and their repeated scenarios are becoming obvious, they are so obvious now, that I think even the US National Security personnel could see and identify the activity as terror activity. That, has never happened before, but I think it could happen now. The ability to see the terror actors, acting, playing their roles as citizens, while actually being terror army soldiers, is available now in Grants Pass, on the Interstate 5, in Medford. You can see the character acting happening in front of you like never before.
Also, my phone: A LG Brand, “Wine” model, flip phone connected to a US Cellular network, is totally highjacked, as I report here often. Something that is explainable about that, is the menu system and the way it behaved yesterday. The menu system changed it’s behavior for a few hours yesterday, as follows. At about 12:15 pm, I wanted to delete some of the photos from the camera memory of the phone, it’s full, and won’t save anymore pictures, so, I have to delete some, to take new ones. Usually, I can select photos individually and delete what is not important to me. The menu asks me if I am sure that I want to delete the selected photo before I push the “OK” button. But yesterday, there were no options available to select an individual photo. The only option was to “Erase all photos from internal and external memory?” as I selected just one picture for deletion. Had I not payed close attention to what the menu was saying, all of the photos on my phone would have been erased when I pushed the “OK” button. For national security people, if there are such people, you could find the terror orders for that terror command on Twitter, coded into a few news stories from about three or four days ago, where the subject of the Tweets was that of “Cleaning a phone” and reference to Hillary Clinton and her “Hard Drive Wipe“ was made in the tweeted stories. That was about me and my phone, where there are photos that the terror bastards want erased. They want me to “wipe” my phone, and changed the way the phone menu works. That cannot be done by just anyone, the changing of the menu on a cellular phone seems as though it would require some advanced access to the entire network to me, the US Cellular Network. Had I in inadvertently erases all of the photos because of that menu bug, then, there would be people saying that I am a terrorist, and erased the photos to cover something up.
I don’t cover anything,., I expose everything. If I see or know about terrorism, I say so. If I can get a photo, I will get one, they are very difficult to get. If I had some other people with me when I go places, it would be much easier to take a photo where people are being killed. But by myself, at those times, I must keep my hands free, ready to defend. If I try to use a camera phone, especially that one on the LG Wine, where you have to push too many buttons to use it, I would be dead a long time ago. When the murders happen, they happen fast. Three seconds, and five people are dead. Ten more seconds, and they are all carted away, and there is no signs that anything happened, only innocent looking terror soldiers dressed as church goers, all doing innocent looking activities, and driving around in modern, sensible cars and trucks, is all there is to see, fifteen seconds after many people are murdered. The terror army kills the way a machine operates, and the machine almost never skips a tooth on the gears.
That is all I have for now, even though I was there when at least three terror soldiers were killed in defense yesterday. Like I said the other day, the events were largely unremarkable, but the reason is that there is no one to make any remarks to, so, the events are uneventful, because there are no people who are interested in knowing about the events. Had those three not been killed or neutralized some other way, I would be dead today. Hand to hand combat, with swords, in a Medford medical provider office, and at a Grants Pass hamburger stand happened yesterday. Poison gas was used to support the attacks, and was released into the ambient air by other terror soldiers, who are still out there, targeting any and all people who are not part of their SAG/Canadian/British/Vatican terror army.
Please send help.
Please send medical services.
Please send US Military to Oregon, Josephine County.
I am getting too old and broken to continue to be the only person defending USA.
End terror report: 4:43 pm.

Casu Consulto
Summary: Dean is sick and tired of Sam’s heart eyes for the Y/N and decides to do something about it. Pairing: Sam Winchester x Reader Word Count: 3268 Warnings: Language, minor angst, humor, smut, Sam’s giant dick A/N: This takes care of the “Bed Sharing” square for @spnkinkbingo. The title in Latin means “accidently on purpose” in case anyone was wondering. I feel it gits well with the theme of the story. :) I apologize for nothing when it comes to the comedy I’ve sprinkled through. It was looked over by @saxxxology, enjoy!
“So, the ghoul was spotted outside the old folks home?” Y/N asked as she stepped out of the car, stretching her arms above her head, sore from the six hour drive.
Dean watched his brother stare at the strip of skin showing above her waist band as she stretched and rolled his eyes. “Yeah. We’ll go first thing tomorrow.”
Dragging her duffel bag from the back seat, Y/N slung it over her shoulder and shut the car door “Right. I’m beat. We getting two rooms?”
Sam shrugged and smiled. “We could, if that’s–”
“Nope,” Dean interrupted, walking down the small sidewalk toward the motel’s office. “Not enough cash.”
“Oh, that’s fine.” Watching Dean disappear into the office, she thought back to the last hunt, remembering she shared with Dean, and that meant she was sharing with the younger Winchester this time. “Looks like it’ll be you and me, Sam. Try not to starfish on me. Suffocation by Winchester is not how I want to go out.”
Sam dipped his head, cheeks heating up. “Come on, I can’t be that bad. Dean’s always been a crazy sleeper.”
“Dean’s a cuddler,” she chuckled. “Nine times out of ten, I wake up with his arms wrapped around my waist and his nose buried in my hair.”
Something akin to jealousy flared up in Sam’s chest, and he had to take several deep breaths to calm himself down. He opened his mouth to give some sort of witty comeback about it being okay if he cuddled her, but Dean returned with the motel key and killed the moment.
Dean unlocked the door and shuffled inside, dropping the weapons bag on the small table in the corner of the room and his duffel bag on the bed closest to the door. Y/N and Sam walked inside and placed their bags on the other queen bed.
Dean looked over and saw his brother staring at Y/N again, the same doofy puppy dog look as before, and he growled. “Sam? A word?”
Sam’s eyes jumped from Y/N to his brother, and immediately knew what Dean’s angry expression meant. Sheepishly, he nodded and followed Dean out of the motel room, telling Y/N he’d be right back.
Once outside with the door shut, Dean pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed, leaning up against the hood of the Impala. “Sam. I know you like her. Hell, anyone with eyes knows you like her. But you gotta stop being a chickenshit.”
Sam made a soft noise of protest in the back of his throat. “Dean–”
“Nuh-uh, let me finish. I have been waiting for everything to fall into place, and I’ll be damned if you’re going to mess it up. We’ll both pretend this was just a happy little accident that all the stars aligned perfectly.”
Sam narrowed his eyes at his brother. “What the hell are you talking about?”
“I’m gonna head to the bar we passed on the way into town. You’re going to go in there and ‘share a bed’,” Dean did air quotes, “with Y/N like you’re in one of those trashy romance novels you think I don’t know you read all the time.” Dean grabbed Sam’s arms and shook him slightly. “Sam. Get the girl.”
Sam took a deep breath and wiggled out of Dean’s hold. “It’s not that simple, Dean.”
“Bullshit,” Dean replied, pointing a finger at Sam. “You’ve been set up with the goldest of golden opportunities, and I really can’t deal with you and your stupid heart eyes any more. So either you go back in there and pretend I didn’t set this up and finally tell her how you feel so you can make sweet sweet love to her, or I’ll do it for you, awkwardly… like when dad gave you the talk after he caught you with that Kelsey girl in Medford.”
Sam’s eyes widened at the horrible memory and he shook his head, sending his chestnut locks flying around his head. “No, I… uhhh, no, I-I got it.”
Dean nodded and grinned, slapping his brother on the arm with a wink. “Casu consulto, Sammy.”
Sam chuckled and ran his hand through his hair, tucking it behind his ear. “Yeah, whatever.”
“Text me when you two are ready for me to come back. That is, if I don’t find someone to spend the night with at this bar.” Dean’s lips stretched into another wolfish grin. “Not many ladies can resist the Winchester charm, can they, Sammy?”
“Dude,” Sam rolls his eyes, “just go. I’m… I think I got it from here.”
Dean walked past Sam, patting him on the shoulder, and got into the driver’s seat of the Impala before starting her up and pulling out of the parking lot. Sam took a few seconds to compose himself before slowly pushing open the door to the motel room, shutting and locking it behind him.
“Everything okay?” Y/N asked, stepping out of the bathroom with her hair brush. She was already in her pajamas, a threadbare t-shirt and short-shorts.
“Yeah, Dean’s headed to that bar a few blocks over. I know I’m beat and I think you are, too, so I told him we’d sit this one out.”
Y/N glanced at the blinking digital clock, and the red numbers told her it was a little past one in the morning. Dean never usually went out this late, but the man had the libido of a sixty year old guy that just discovered Viagra, so she only shrugged and nodded. “Probably a good plan. Are you going to come to bed right away or do some research?”
Sam cleared his throat and reached for his duffel. “Uh, no, no research. I’m gonna get changed and then we can sleep. I mean, like, we can sleep on our own sides of the bed. Not sleep… you know, together.” Sam winced and quickly grabbed his clothes before sprinting to the bathroom, missing the soft smile on Y/N’s lips as he rushed past her.
After changing and splashing some cold water against his face, Sam emerged from the bathroom to see Y/N on the right side of the bed already under the covers with all the lights off in the motel room, save for the small lamp on the nightstand illuminating a small area. He padded over to the bed and carefully lifted the covers, slipping into the warmth. He reached over and clicked off the lamp before tucking the ends of the blankets under his feet.
Mentally, he was exhausted, but his body was wide awake as he laid next to Y/N. He could feel her shuffling a few times as she settled, but he was wide awake, staring at the darkness of the motel’s ceiling, his fingers tapping impatiently where they were resting against his chest. Heavy silence passed for what felt like hours, until Y/N’s voice made Sam jump.
“So, casu consulto, huh?”
Sam’s entire body went rigid and he felt like he had ice water running in his veins. Biting his lip, he cursed under his breath before opening his mouth to reply. “You… you heard us?”
“You should know by now that motel room doors are really thin,” he felt her shift onto her side so she was looking at him, “and the window was open, too.”
Sam closed his eyes, willing the uncomfortable spring mattress below him to somehow become alive and swallow him whole. His cheeks flushed in embarrassment, and he sent up a silent thank you that Y/N couldn’t see him. Unfortunately, Y/N took Sam’s silence as a sign something was wrong and Sam grunted when she flopped onto his chest and reached across to the night stand, turning the light on.
Y/N was smiling softly when she noticed the flush on Sam’s cheeks and the terrified look in his eyes. She was still sprawled out across his chest, and she shifted sideways to get in a better spot. “Oh, Sam. I’m not mad. Honestly, I’ve been waiting for you to make a move for months, and if Dean wants to take credit for being the mastermind behind it, that’s fine with me.”
“You what?” Sam asked in disbelief.
Y/N groaned and buried her forehead against Sam’s chest. “Sam, come on. Think.”
Sam’s mind began flashing with images of Y/N, how she’s been spending more time with him over his brother, how she’s been more flirty and open, and how she’s been returning the shy smiles and gentle touches that Sam didn’t think she noticed.
“I’m an idiot,” Sam exhaled after several minutes.
Y/N chuckled and lifted her head, resting it on the hand that was still flat on his chest. “Yeah, but at least you’re adorable.”
Sam growled playfully and wrapped a long arm around Y/N’s body, flipping her over so she was flat on her back under him. She let out a squeal followed by a giggle at the sudden move, but once she was under him and looking up at him with those big beautiful eyes, Sam finally let everything out. He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers, licking into her mouth once she parted her lips.
“Sam,” she gasped against his lips, feeling the length of his cock as it pressed between her thighs when he ground his hips forward.
Sam pulled back and grinned when her lips chased his. “You want this, right?”
“If I didn’t want this, you’d already be on the floor with a broken arm and bruised testicles,” Y/N deadpanned.
Sam chuckled and pecked her lips with a quick kiss. “That’s why I like you, Y/N.”
“And the fact you asked me is why I like you, Sam.” Y/N leaned up and Sam gave her space so she could pull her shirt over her head. Her breasts were perfect with nipples already hard and aching to be touched. Sam reached out and brushed his thumb over one of the stiff peaks, his lips parting in awe at the soft mewl that spilled from Y/N’s lips as her eyes fluttered shut.
“Mmm, sensitive,” Sam murmured, moving down to take her other nipple into his mouth, teasing the bud with his tongue and teeth.
“Sam,” Y/N cried out, tugging on his hair to get his attention. “We can do the whole ‘make love and explore each others bodies’ thing another time. I want you to fuck the hell out of me. Now.”
Sam’s eyes went wide and he nodded quickly. “Ye-yeah, I can do that… uh, do I need a condom?”
“Yeah, I can start birth control again in the future, if you wanted to be exclusive,” Y/N offered shyly.
“Y/N… now that I know how to feel about me, about us, I don’t think I’m ever letting you go.” Sam pressed a kiss to her knuckles before sliding from the bed, doing nothing to hide the massive tent in the front of his sweatpants.
“Okay, Harry Burns, hurry up.” Y/N watched as Sam walked to the other bed and quickly fumbled through the duffel bag sitting on top. “Wait, is that Dean’s bag?”
“Yeah it is, Sally Albright,” Sam glanced up quickly to wink before resuming his search, “Dean keeps the condoms in his bag. Wants me to think he gets laid more than I do.” Finding the demolished box of condoms, Sam ripped one off. He hesitated before he walked away and ripped another one off just in case.
As he walked back across the motel room, Sam shed his shirt and watched hungrily as Y/N slipped out of her shorts and began teasing her nipples, her lower body still covered by the sheet. Sam dropped his sweatpants as he reached the end of the bed before dropping down and ducking under the blankets at the bottom, slowly crawling up between Y/N’s legs. He pressed a kiss to her mound and slowly pressed kisses to random places on her exposed skin as he moved up her body.
When he emerged from under the sheet, he shook his head to get the hair out of his face and looked at Y/N with a dimpled smile. “Hey.”
Y/N giggled and pulled him the rest of the way up until their lips pressed together. “Hey.”
Sam sat back on his heels as he ripped open the condom packet, dropping the extra one off the side of the bed with the wrapper, and rolled it down his length. Carefully, Sam reached two fingers down, feeling the wetness between Y/N’s folds. She was soaking wet and he groaned as he slipped a finger into her pussy, easily gliding into the warmth. She was tight, and he began to push his finger in and out, spreading her slick around, before slipping another finger in.
“Sam,” Y/N whimpered, “need you.”
“I don’t want to hurt you, Y/N,” Sam replied, voice husky as he watched her body swallow his fingers.
Y/N shifted up on her elbows and looked down at Sam, one eyebrow raised. “Sam, I know you won’t hurt me. I’m not a virgin, I can take it.” Her eyes traveled downward, spying his latex covered cock standing proudly, thick and long, and her eyebrows practically levitated off her forehead. “Holy fuck!”
Sam’s fingers stilled inside her and he met her eyes. “What?”
“You’re hung like a horse!” She shook her head, looking down again, trying to see if it was all a hallucination. “Scratch that, hung like an elephant! Get in me right now, Winchester.”
Sam laughed a full-body deep belly laugh, and crawled up, settling over Y/N and framing her face with his hands. He pecked her on the lips once more and reached down between them, lining his cock up with her pussy, gently pressing inside. Y/N gasped as the head slipped inside, her legs falling lax to either side, allowing Sam more room.
“Did you know that relative to its size, the barnacle has the largest penis of all animals?” Sam whispered in Y/N’s ear as he began to press forward, sliding another inch inside every couple of seconds.
“So, you want me to– Jesus… want me to say you’re hung,” Y/N gasped as he pushed the final few inches in so he was fully seated, “like a barnacle?”
“Nah, just say I’m hung like a Winchester.” Sam grinned and kissed the soft skin around Y/N’s neck and throat.
“Sam, move. Don’t hold back, Barnacle Boy.” Y/N chuckled, squeezing her pussy around Sam’s cock, smiling when he hissed and shuddered above her. “Wait, isn’t that a character from Spongebob?”
“Yup,” Sam confirmed. “But you better hold on to something, pretty sure you’re gonna forget your name in a few minutes.”
Oh, how right he was.
Y/N could only hold onto Sam’s shoulders, then the comforter on either side of her hips as Sam began rapid thrusts, the obscene sound of skin hitting skin filling the quiet motel room. Sam’s panted breaths fanned across her lips as tiny mewls and whimpers escaped her lips, eyes open and locked on Sam’s who was already looking at her.
Sam would pull back almost all the way before slamming forward, sending deliciously intoxicating bursts of pleasure searing through Y/N’s veins. For several minutes, Y/N’s mouth was open, head tilted back, no sound escaping as Sam worked her body like he’d known her intimately for years. The noises he made, the grunts and low moans were enough to have her teetering on the edge, but she needed more.
“Sam,” she gasped, reaching out for him. “I need–”
Sam nodded, understanding exactly what she was requesting. Balancing on one arm, he shifted his hips down and reached between their bodies. The new angle was allowing his cock to brush against Y/N’s sweet spot with every jerky thrust, and when his finger began to rub harsh circles on her clit, her entire body trembled as a long wanton moan spilled from her lips.
“Fuck, Sam, right there. Fuck me harder, give me it!” Y/N babbled through several uncontrolled moans.
“That’s it baby, come for me,” Sam whispered, sitting back so he could watch the show. He jerked his hips faster, adding more pressure against her clit until the dam finally broke.
Y/N’s body arched off the bed, her head thrown back in ecstasy, as her pussy clamped down on his cock like a vice. Sam was so distracted by how beautiful she looked as she came, that he almost didn’t realize he started coming as well. The rhythmic pulses of her pussy as she twitched with aftershocks drew every last drop from him until he groaned and slumped forward, holding most of his weight on his arm so not to crush her.
“Wow,” they both said at the same time, laughing together as they tried to catch their breath.
“That was amazing,” Y/N said, running her fingers through Sam’s hair where his head rested in the space between her breasts.
“You’re beautiful when you come,” Sam murmured, pressing a kiss to the side of her breast. “I always thought you were beautiful with everything you did. Your laugh, your body, the way you kick ass… but seeing you like that?” He sighed wistfully. “I already miss it.”
“Well, if want… maybe we could make this a thing, make us a thing?” Sam raised his head at her request. “I mean, if you want. No pressure.”
“I think I’d like that,” Sam said, dimples indenting his cheeks as he smiled wide. He moved up the bed and flopped over next to Y/N, quickly removing the condom, tying it, and tossing it in the wastebasket next to the bed. “As long as you don’t fake any orgasms,” he added, poking her on the arm.
Y/N snorted. “I don’t think I’d have to fake anything with you.”
“Good,” Sam nodded. He leaned over to shut off the lamp, but grabbed his cell phone instead, typing a quick text message before he set it back down and clicked off the lamp.
Y/N scooted closer to him, resting her head on his chest, fingers tracing nonsense patterns over his chest. Sam wrapped his right arm around her shoulders and shut his eyes, exhaustion finally tugging at his consciousness. They sat in silence for what felt like ten minutes, before Y/N’s voice broke the quiet.
“So, barnacles, huh?”
Sam barked a laugh and pulled her closer, feeling like he finally found what he’s been looking for.
Dean’s phone vibrated against the worn wood of the bar, and he broke his attention away from the sweet redhead he was chatting up to check it.
> > Sam [1:39am]: Consulto amor. :-)
Dean grinned, letting out a soft chuckle before locking the screen and looking back over at his companion, licking his lips and giving her his patented Winchester seductive look. No way Sam was the only one getting laid tonight.
“So, Nora, what do you say we take this back to your place?”
She grinned and leaned forward, lips pressed to the shell of his ear. “I thought you’d never ask.”
She pulled Dean from the bar stool so fast that the two twenties he dropped to pay for their drinks almost fell off the bar, and the only thing the bartender noticed as he glanced up was a leather jacket disappearing through the door and Dean’s laughter trailing off.

James' career as an Aeronautical Engineer for AVCO allowed the family ample travel and educational opportunities. Throughout her life, Peggy traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, Ireland, Italy, Canada, the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii and numerous road trips across the US.
A Mathematician educated during World War II, Peggy earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Regis College where she enjoyed captaining her basketball team. PLANNING AHEAD
Many people plan for life events such as weddings and vacations well in advance, but many people do not plan for something that is certain to happen, their funeral. While most people do not want to think about their own morality, the time to pre-plan your funeral is now.
The primary advantages of pre-arranging your funeral is to relieve the burden on your loved ones in an already emotional time, and to ensure your funeral is carried out according to your wishes, eliminating the task of second-guessing what you would have wanted.
Taking the time now to arrange your funeral is one less thing your loved ones will need to worry about once you’ve passed. Pre-planning and pre-paying your funeral is one of the most thoughtful gifts you can give to your family.

🖊 - as much as you want! I love hearing random things about OCs
okay here’s a little list of random things!
1) Jay dislikes drinking and getting drunk, but he will on occasion. He can’t handle alcohol well and tends to throw up and pass out very quickly. Not a good time.
2) Jay loves climbing and being up high. He absolutely loves being on top of the skyscrapers in Boston, and loves flying in vertibirds. This is absolutely horrible because he has the world’s worst depth perception and falls and trips a lot. Nick has had many heart attacks trying to keep Jay from falling to his death from on top of skyscrapers.
3) He has tamed a deathclaw matriarch that he wanted to live at The Castle, and her name is Big Mama. She of course doesn’t live there as Preston and Ronnie Shaw refuse to let him bring her there. She instead lives at Dark Hallow Pond, but sadly gets killed by a large group of raiders. Jay is absolutely devastated and angry that no one else cares that she was killed.
You bet your ass my tamed deathclaw matriarch lives at The Castle in my game though.
4) Jay knew one of my other OCs, Cinder, before the war. She was an MD who also worked at Medford Memorial, and they went to med school together. She had a huge crush on him and tried to get close to him, but he was very quick to tell her he was gay and not at all interested. They never became friends and Jay confessed to Nick when they met again after the war that Cinder made him very uncomfortable for trying to come onto him, as he says “I thought it was pretty obvious I like men, like, a lot,”
5) Before the war, Jay applied to work at a Slocum’s Joe, but was rejected multiple times. He eventually got his first job working at a Red Rocket, and he hated it.
6) Jay met Nate while at work at the Red Rocket. After their first meeting, Nate would periodically send food and coffee to him through his coworkers, and eventually got the guts to ask him on a date. Jay was a nervous mess the entire time, but the date went very well and they were together for 24 years before the war. Jay was 19 when they met, Nate was 18.
thanks for the ask!!

HELLO my name is ( ZACHARY SULLIVAN ). people often mistake me for ( CALUM HOOD ). i find this very silly but people also tell me i’m ( ELOQUENT ) and ( BLUNT ). i am born in ( HAWAII ) but i now live in ( CALIFORNIA ). if there’s one song that describes me the most it’d have to be ( HOT IN HERRE by nelly ).
hello everybody !! it’s your resident plotting hoe, adri !! i go by she/her, am 21+, and from the gmt+8 timezone. you can mainly catch me on versctle which is my active indie rp blog. so yeah if you got a follow from that, you don’t necessarily have to follow it back from your character blog since this ( stbcn ) is a sideblog !!
i have yet to really finish my blog, but will update you guys when i do !!
anyway, i love my filthy rich babies with all my heart. please keep in mind that they are both in an OPEN RELATIONSHIP , which enables individual threads and poly threads with your muses without them cheating on each other. anyway this ought to be fun since it’s my first time to actually take on a poly ship in a rp group !! candice is openly pansexual and panromantic, while zach is bi-closeted, regarding both bisexuality and biromance. he’s only ever been exclusive with girls, but he’s definitely into guys as well and can be quite defensive about this. but of course, connections are not limited to sexual or romantic, but also angsty, platonic, familial, you name it !!
here are some tidbits of them:
CANDICE FLAIR:
she was an only child at first, neglected by her parents since they were both busy with business and didn’t have the best marriage. her earliest memory was her parents fighting in the kitchen, when her dad pointed a knife at her mom
to compensate for their absence, they had enough money to buy her whatever she wanted and was raised by a nanny, that had no choice but to spoil her like her parents had wished
in spite of all this, candice focused on her studies. she was a very studious girl since she really wanted to make her parents proud of her. she was one of the top in her classes, as well as one of the richest and prettiest girls in her school
when her parents miraculously made up and renewed their vows, their household expanded and candice became the big sister of four baby siblings
because she was almost a teenager at this age, her parents had expected her to be on her own, while they focused on their business and prioritized their recent children whenever they got the chance to do so
she had to watch her parents giving the love and affection to her younger siblings, what she had been craving for when she was a lonely little girl
candice may be seen as a rich kid by others, but she’s the type who falls close to the bottom, which meant that hanging out with the most popular kids in school was not in her league, though she strived for their validation and charmed her way into their clique
her charm and manipulative ways made it convenient for her to get free things from her richer friends, which made it easier for her to save up ( smart cookie, eh ? )
she climbed up the social ladder by being relevant in school, building up a reputation of being the gorgeous rich girl who appeared in the hottest events and was associated with the most memorable people in her school, even the hot english teacher that girls assumed was gay, not until candice made her move
but she didn’t limit her audience to the elite, even trying to charm cliques of other kinds, such as the jocks, stoners, etc. living up to her label “the chameleon” by building connections and seeking for advantages
when she grew older, the less she got home. either staying with a friend, a hotel, anything to really avoid her parents when they were home
she was a party girl but knew how to prioritize her studies
she graduated high school with flying colors as a salutatorian, which her parents were proud of, but candice had gotten cold and thought it was too late for them to reach out to her now
she is now taking up engineering in university, though she is still the wild child who sleeps around with richer people, regardless of how old they are and is an aspiring sugar baby and trophy wife
QUICK IMPORTANT FACTS: candice destroys the stereotypes of being objectified as a “pretty girl” by being studious and prioritizing her academics. in spite of this, she loves manipulating people to get what she wants for her enjoyment, but she is also capable of being independent and doesn’t get attached, which is why she shifts from one person to another
she may be one of the hottest and best dressed, but she enjoys html, computer science, and computer hacking on her spare time. this was something she adapted from one of the people she’s dated when she was in her early teens
she is capable of backstabbing and betrayal, as well as plotting on revenge to anyone who might spite her. she’s a kitty with claws and could get physical when she deems necessary
ZACHARY SULLIVAN:
zach was born and raised in hawaii, with an older sister and his native parents. unfortunately, his mother passed away when he was three, to which his family was devastated with. zach hadn’t known her very well, but he’s heard stories of how amazing and sweet she was
his father, has always been a certified alcoholic, and his vice had worsened when he grieved over the loss of his wife, making him very distant and hostile towards zach and his sister. they never had the best father-son relationship, which had zach seeking for other father figures, only to return to the image of his father and his problematic ways
he was nurtured by the tender love and care of his grandparents instead, and zach was a certified beach bum that enjoyed certain hobbies such as surfing and swimming, since they lived close to the beach
he saw no importance in his studies, deciding to bolt off with his friends or skip his classes to have fun. he got away easily since his family was rich and his grandparents always got his back when he was failing his subjects. he was definitely spoiled by his grandparents that he grew with a feeling of entitlement
zach had a natural charm regardless of his lethargy, which made him a persuasive and eloquent speaker to his peers and others
by the age of 12, his father met a woman ( a tourist ) and fell in love, which made zach and his family move to california to live with the woman and her daughter
they eventually got married and zach had to live with his step mother and step sister, but these two never got along, and zach always felt like there was a competition amongst the three of them, trying to be the best child to his father ( though he and his full-blooded sister were often on good terms )
he joined the swimming team in high school and had appeared in various competitions
he developed his first love that only broke his heart and made him want to close his heart to ever love again
he grew into a fuqboi, being irresponsible and aiming to be a bigger disappointment to his father and step-mother, who were both greatly catching on
he would sabotage his step sister with every chance he gets since she gets on his nerves for some reason
and he thrived to have their attention, even when it was negatively, feeling smug and getting into arguments with them to feel alive
he’s gotten acquainted best with the popular kids and the stoners, since he was often getting high, attending parties, or ditching his classes to do anything else
zach was one of the common students to get into detention, since he was always getting into trouble and wasn’t really afraid when he got caught
he’s got anger issues and would seem bossy and demanding whenever he feels like it. he’s also not afraid to get physical with people since he can be quite hedonistic
he’s got massive abandonment issues and hates the thought of being alone, and would rather spend a night with a stranger, in spite of him being defensive of his clinginess
he’s actually got a lot of issues like this list could go on but pls do love my problematic son he needs all the character development he can get
he takes up human resources since he wants to get into the business of recruitments, though he’s been held back from his subjects since he doesn’t plan on attending most of them
THEIR HISTORY TOGETHER:
zach and candice have a messy history of being on/off friends with benefits in high school, that eventually led to an open relationship, where they agree to see other people individually or see other people together. they have grown an attachment to each other but neither has thought about taking the relationship seriously, but it still complicates the people they’re dating, since they make up and break up every time
so yeah, while i fix the rest of the blog, please just like this post or hmu for plots !! some wanted connections would definitely be:
FOR CANDICE:
her best friend since childhood
an ex that she cannot get over
friends who act like lovers (girls)
a hookup gone wrong since he almost got her pregnant
FOR ZACH:
his first love that fuelled him into being a fuqboi
his step sister that gets on his nerves
a guy he’s been crushing on and vice versa
his best friend/partner-in-crime that he gets in trouble with
stoner buddies, drinking buddies
FOR BOTH:
friends, friends with benefits, frenemies
#oregonhq: ooc#tw: knife#knife tw#violence tw#tw: violence#im just gonna leave this here and hop into the shower#pls do hmu for plots kfbnfdknb#im nice is2g
