You may refer to me as The Void, for the sake of anonymity. I'm not always available to say much, but I will say this.

I've observed this world for a while. And, even amidst the terrible things I've seen, I've also come to see so much beauty in this world, in humanity. I've fallen in love with this place, in a way.

I hope that you, dear reader, find happiness in this world someday, somewhere. Perhaps in a book, or in a flower, or even in a person.

Life is ever so long, and yet ever so short. And as we wait for whatever death brings, whatever lies in the unknown... it's just as important to see what life can give you, and what you can give yourself.

Remember death. Remember life.

Quanto tempo, vero? Beh, siamo alla fine dell'anno quindi si fanno i vari recap/wrap/riassunti/classifiche e robe simili. Perché esimermi da tale pratica?

Direi di cominciare con la musica che, fortunatamente, pare non essere stata intaccata dagli ascolti con la piccolina di casa. In entrambi i casi è stato l'anno dell'elettronica suddivisa nella new wave dei Depeche Mode, di cui ho ascoltato tutta la discografia, e la poliedrica produzione di The Weeknd, altro di cui ho ascoltato tutto al netto dell'ultimo album che uscirà nel 2025.

Dei Depeche Mode posso dire che mi hanno colpito molto. Dal primo album interessante e buffo, a tratti bizzarro, c'è stata una crescita enorme culminata con due album: "Violator" dove hanno probabilmente toccato l'apice e "Songs of Faith and Devotion" che, per poco, non ha sfasciato la band (e quasi ucciso il cantante).Tutto quello che è arrivato dopo è un oscillare tra pezzi interessanti e cose meno incisive. È un qualcosa che capita con alcune band o artisti che, avanzando con l'età, cambiano stile, si assestano si cose meno pesanti. È successo a Vasco, a Ligabue, agli U2. Vedremo cosa accadrà e se "Memento Mori" sarà il loro ultimo lavoro.

The Weeknd l'ho scoperto per la ragione più scema in assoluto: è stato il primo artista di Fortnite Festival (aridaje!). Inoltre ha una storia molto particolare, ha uno stile che si è evoluto da molto, temi cupi di degrado psicologico e relazioni tossiche son passati ad amori struggenti e oggi sembrano lievemente più speranzosi. Il nuovo album "Hurry Up Tomorrow" ha pochi singoli all'attivo quindi non so ancora nulla in merito. Però è stato un bel viaggio musicale.

Per il resto Frozen ha coperto ogni momento della crescita di mia figlia, sia il primo che il secondo, facendomi scoprire come una colonna sonora possa essere davvero interessante. Per concludere ho scoperto Nintendo Music ed ora mi sparo le colonne sonore dei migliori giochi della casa di Kyoto, in attesa che aggiungano F-Zero originale, Super Mario World ed altre chicche.

Sul lato musica abbiamo finito. Si passa ai videogiochi ma non aspettatevi molto. Sapete già dove andrà a finire: autobus volanti, banane antropomorfe e llama.

Honestly, most of the literary topics with Latin names tend to be beautiful/meaningful.

Militia Amoris is another great topic. Or the good old classic Carpe Diem. I too love the Ubi Sunt. And of course I have to mention Tempus Fugit.

There's just something about them that's so compelling. They make me want to one day write a poem for each of the topics.
