I’m putting Battle & Chase in the "nebulously canon" zone for now until I am able to find out more about the plot and how it might fit in the timeline, but uh… yeah. Have Blues in a racing suit.

Groupmegroup (rework)

[Start ID: A two page spread. On the first page, a blue piece shows Treble Darkstar, a wolf-shaped racing car from the Mega Man: Battle and Chase videogame, snarling in the center. Two circles, one above and one below, show old-timey, goat-shaped race cars from the TV show Vroomiz in yellow and blue bi-chromatic shading. In one of the circles are the words "A wolf in sheep's clothing". On the left hand side of the piece are the words "(rework) Groupmegroup", and on the right, "The search for a scapegoat is the easiest of all hunting exhibitions." The text on the second page reads: When does apathy turn to attention, affection turn to passion? Why then but not before; why then when I was twelve, when i was three times four? I didn’t even create Groupmegroup specifically for the zine; it was the inner card for a New Order compilation I had burned into a cd, hence the (rework) part of the title. Don’t ask me for the chosen words either; I just needed something to fit both the goat car and the center figure. Why this image but not another, why these characters my guides, to usher? At first it was Herbie: Fully Loaded, then Cars, and then after Vroomiz. Why did the idea of sentient cars, but with the gimmick of being shaped like animals, snare my attention more than sentient cars, period? Wouldn’t the latter be, at least, rooted in reality? Was the reason the fear of growing older, this impending wave that I couldn’t stop, swim swim swim, swim back to shore? I put sand in my pockets: Treble (in his Mega Man: Battle and Chase form); Fenrir, Ignus, Elentar and Astrid from Runimalz; Riprat from Mattel’s Attack Pack toy line; Saber from Dinocore; various catmobiles from different times in the DC universe; I was feeling the olden pebbles in my shoes: Susie, the Catbus and whatnots, but I always came, or come, back to Vroomiz because it won’t leave me, my mind just won’t leave it alone. Maybe it was that I was yes, just a human, but wasn’t I also half a man? And because I was only half a man, didn’t I only half enjoy anthropomorphization? Skull requested I draw some ladies. so draw some ladies I did. The easiest to draw was roll, the hardest was kalinka, mainly because her outfit wouldn’t look right and neither would her leeegs. I like how plum turned out the best tho. I may actually color these later, I very much like them ‘u’

And why did he want to see Protoman? Same answer.

In MegaMan Battle & Chase, Protoman's the only one who actually becomes a star if he wins the race, none of the others get that kind of spotlight.

The irony? He’s the last guy who’d enjoy it, considering how much he hates interviews. But at least he’ll have enough cash to travell: 10 million Zenny.

InkTober 2024 #7 - Passport

Roll showing her "passport" (it's just a driver license, but I got to come up with an excuse to draw her) to, who the heck knows? Plum? Wanna draw the her too btw, I'll see where it could be good on InkTober, and if I don't get a good chance there, I'll just draw her when it ends! (not necessarily, by that I mean just not as part of it, and to post her after)

This made me realize I've never drawn Roll in an accurate way until now. I used to like, really like her as a kid so I drew her a lot back then, but when I was a kid no one looked in model so... This is actually the first time I do it using reference and the difference is night and day. Only thing that worries me it's that's she's a little too on-model, while not looking like how she would if drawn by whoever did the B&C art (apparently, contrary to what I thought until a bit of research, it wasn't Ishikawa)... But I still like it! It's just that I want to not rely on doing her just like she looks like too, but I guess that's just a matter of time.

I was going to post this the 6th, as I had skipped until then the drawing for that day and forgot, to make up for it. Then I couldn't do the drawing of that day so I just would post both yesterday, or at least this one that was ready, but due to unexpected causes I never got a chance to do so, but I did now, I'll see if I'll post this day's art today too or what else, but at least I got this out for now.
