Small Details about Megaranger Ep.16 I noticed, that I found interesting, but could easily just be looking to deeply into something not that deep:

The placement of the mothmark on each individual Megaranger is kind of loosely indicative of their actions/mindsets throughout the episode.

Chisato and Kouichirou’s marks are on their hand/wrist, which could be an indicator of how, out of the team, they were the only two to “hold on” to hope and find a solution. And, even then, just like the wrist and the hand support each other, Chisato and Kouichirou supported each other, even as things started to look hopeless

Likewise, they also hold on to things that are imporant to them (memories of their families/friends, as represented by the photo of Kouichirou’s family, and by Chisato’s camera.)

Miku’s mark appeared on her leg, which could be seen as her “running away” from the problem.A lot of the stuff that Miku did, like the shopping spree, felt less like her trying to achieve some dream (purchasing the wedding dress nonwithstanding, but I’ll get back to that), and more like her trying to bury her despair with things she knew typically made her happy (shopping for new clothes/eating sweets/etc).

As for the wedding dress/her almost proposing (Or at least almost confessing her love) to Shun, it could be seen not only as her attempting to fulfill a dream of hers, but also as another attempt to try to distract herself from sadness and fear, as that she probably associates being a bride/being in love and married with being feelings of happiness. So, she likely figures that if she can be a bride, if only for a moment, she can forget about how scared she feels in the moment.

Shun’s mark is near his throat, which is the place typically associated with speech. Throughout much of the episode, he’s the one most verbally lashing out at his teammates, due to his fear and frustration with the situation. And out of all of them, he’s the first one to speak of giving up and leaving to “live his last moments to the fullest”. 

And, (while he’s not the first to realize it), he’s the first one out of the three who left to verbalize how dissatisfied and regretful he feels about his decision and being forced to settle for a hollow imitation of his true dream. (Incidentally, this also leads to Miku probably also coming to her own realizations that she, too, wouldn’t feel truly happy with some rushed, empty version of her dream).

(That said, there’s actually a LOT about Shun, taking other episodes (especially ep10) in consideration, that present interesting headcanons and perspective on him in this episode. But, that might be for another post (or a fic)).

Anyways, Kenta’s mark is well----okay, so they were obviously going for a dick joke here. That said, it could be less literally interpreted as being near his gut/stomach. On a more surface level, it could be kind of reflective of Kenta’s idea of “fulfilling his dream” was to eat as much yakuniku as possible (Thinking with his stomach, etc).

In addition to that, a lot of Kenta’s actions were more of him likely just going with his instincts/gut feelings, taking a very simplistic approach to the situation.

In addition to that, a lot of Kenta’s actions were more of him likely just going with his instincts/gut feelings, taking a very simplistic approach to the situation. He knows that they’re sick because of the Poison Moth Nezire’s venom, so his gut instinct tells him that medicine is supposed to help remedy sickness, so they might as well try it. And, likewise, his gut instinct tells him that Shun talking about giving up makes sense, so he decides to follow him. And, likewise, his gut instinct (more literally), typically seems to tell him that he’s happy/content when eating yakuniku, so he decides to spend his entire allowance on it.

Of course, all of their own realizations/reactions obviously are put in perspective upon seeing other people who are unknowingly infected with the monster’s poison, have things that they are looking forward to, and thus reminding Kenta, Miku and Shun that, even if they’re own hope for themselves has wavered, they still have even a little bit of power to try to try to keep other people’s hopes and dreams alive. 

But, that’s just me rambling (And there's probably a lot of other small details that I missed).

i think i do have to draw the line at the idea of koichiro megablack as a talented soccer player who knows "cool juggling tricks." in regards to athleticism is he a guy who wakes up at 5 am to run a mile for the Healthy Living & Vigor of it all? sure. but as soon as we start giving him traits characteristic of a popular jock i feel we've gone too far. but yanagawa shigeru only wrote 2 other episodes of this show so i can forgive him for not grasping the complex #truth of each character

Hello to the commentariat! I contacted Clyde a few weeks ago asking if I could cash in my "Stein Winners Get A Crack At Writing This Thing" as part of the College Football Pool extravaganza. Now, a couple of items of note: I can’t remember when I won the Stein (2018?) and I had started writing something I was going to use, but I forgot to finish it and didn’t follow through. The topic? Anyway, last weekend Mrs. TTT and I, along with our youngest, decided to check out the Funky Flea. This is basically a Flea Market that is….that’s it, it’s a flea market. Where the Funky part comes in, I’m not sure, but what I am sure of is this: the time to shop for RTARLers is done as I have compiled some awesome ideas for the commenter on your Easter list! People buy Easter gifts, right?

Apologies to a certain Boston podcaster who used to write who did a schtick like this. Bigger apologies to anyone that gets left out…maybe stop changing your screen name every 2 days. (ALL PRICES ARE IN CANADIAN DOLLARS…WHAT SAVINGZ!!!)

Now I know there is another person that would really enjoy something in the Card Collectables Realm (wait your turn BoTS) but Vlad may enjoy this Red Wing legend! I must admit, though, being a Canadian I am required to have an Encyclopedic knowledge of hockey but I do not remember anything about Alex Delvecchio. He’s been in the Hall of Fame almost as long as I have been alive so he must have been the Jaromir Jagr of his day if he played for 24 seasons. I looked for anything Wolverines/Lions for WFS but this Flea Market was only so Funky so you will have to share…you can get the Doug Harvey card above! I actually knew who he was!!

Now I have to be honest here, I got pretty excited when I saw this. Then I thought about my internet friend who is also a fan of Les Expos. There were only 3 problems: one, they were asking 80 dollars for this (eBay had them for 39); two, I remembered that Andre never wore this version of the Expos jersey (it was the much cooler older one); and three, they had spelled Dawson DAHSUN…okay I made that last one up. Maybe SROD would consider a trade for a copy of his novel.

It’s in a plastic bag so you KNOW it is valuable (or maybe for other reasons…yuck). Also from what I’ve been told if Clyde got “excited” he may take out half the booths here simply walking by. FYI this is Playmate of the Year Lisa Baker from the confusing town of Detroit, Texas. She actually did another layout in 1997 at age 53 and as far as the internet says, is still kicking ass at 80.

Denji Sentai Megaranger- Character Outfit Designs (Flat color ver.)

So, Initially I was going to release these separately and as more complete/shaded versions. The project kind of got to be a bit too complicated and I ended up being a bit happier with the flat color designs than i did the more finished ones.

So, as for the designs:

-The first two are based on the "School uniform" and "Megaranger" uniforms that appeared in the show.

-The third is a take on the characters wearing the "Power Rangers in Space" (Megaranger's PR counterpart) uniforms

-The Fourth is a casual outfit design by me. (Except for Yuusaku/MegaSilver, which is just the lab-coat alternate outfit).

The last two designs I was planning on using as an art reference for a sort of sequel series fanfic idea I had. But, it hasn't been much more than a few ideas/concepts at this point.
