COVID-19 Vaccine
Australia’s vaccine rollout is experiencing ‘teething problems’, as one contractor is put on notice after a ‘callous’ incident where two aged care residents were given overdoses.
Some aged care facilities are facing last-minute cancellations or only getting “very short” notice of the Covid-19 vaccine’simpending arrival, putting pressure on them to obtain informed consent from their residents in time.
Australia’s vaccine rollout across the aged care system began this week and was soon marred by a serious error and slower-than-anticipated distribution in some states. The federal government says 71 aged care facilities and 4,715 residents had received the vaccination by Wednesday, with another 20 facilities and 1,600 residents due to receive the jab on Thursday.
The Australian government has hired four private contractors to assist with the rollout:
· Aspen
· Healthcare Australia
· International SOS
· Sonic Clinical Service.
In Victoria, 25 vials of the vaccine were thrown away out of an “abundance of caution” after workers could not confirm refrigeration temperatures had been maintained while they were stored at a Werribee aged care facility.
More than 90 aged care facilities have received 6500 COVID-19 vaccines since the broad rollout began on Monday, with a further 20 expected to have vaccines by the end of Friday.
It is well short of the 30,000 doses originally expected to be distributed to 240 facilities by the end of the week, but Health Minister Greg Hunt said on Friday that target would be met by the middle of next week and the rollout would be back on track by the end of week two.
Meanwhile, Aspen Medical reported to the Commonwealth’s Vaccine Operation Centre that 25 vials of the Pfizer vaccine remained unused in a fridge on site after it completed vaccinations of residents and staff at St Vincent’s Care Services Werribee facility on Wednesday.
But HCA has begun missing deadlines and failing to supply vaccines to some aged care facilities in New South Wales and Queensland. The company has blamed the delays on closer government scrutiny after one of its doctors erroneously gave an 88-year-old man and 94-year-old woman four times the recommended dose of the Pfizer vaccine at the Holy Spirit Nursing Home in Brisbane.

University of Melbourne veterinarians launch new pain management study for dogs
Just like their owners, man’s best friend can also suffer from osteoarthritis, a type of arthritis that occurs when cartilage at the ends of bones wears down causing pain, swelling and problems moving the joint.
A new pain management study for dogs, the first of its kind in Australia, has been launched by veterinarians at the University of Melbourne’s U-Vet clinic in Werribee to look at a new way to treat osteoarthritis in canines.
Dr Andrew Woodward and Dr Thierry Beths are leading the study and note that pain management for dogs is very similar to how humans are treated.
“When a dog has osteoarthritis we tend to see symptoms such as limited movement including limping,” says Dr Woodward from the Pain Management and Rehabilitation Clinic at the university’s U-Vet Clinic.
“Pets are part of the family, so it’s understandably very concerning for owners when their dog is in pain. With the condition osteoarthritis, dogs do experience mild discomfort to severe pain and lameness from joint swelling.”
The study will test a new plant oil-based pain relief gel.
The University of Melbourne Veterinary research team is recruiting 64 dogs for the canine pain management trial. Dogs need to
Have lameness or difficulty moving associated with osteoarthritis
Be older than 6 months of age
Have been off any arthritis-related medication for 1 week
Participate in the 35-day study, including five visits to the Werribee clinic
Dogs will be x-rayed, a blood test taken and have a Fitbit-like device fitted to monitor level of activity. The device measures a subject’s energy expenditure and number of steps in real time, where a reduction in movement can indicate pain.
The patient’s gait will also be recorded using a pressure-sensing walkaway. The walkway allows analysis of the patient’s gait by measuring the ground force reaction at each step.

How Medical Clinic Works With You For Optimal Health?
If you're like most people, you've tried to take care of your health on your own. And while that's a great first step toward improving your overall well-being, it can be hard to stay motivated and focused when things don't go as planned. That's where a medical clinic in Werribee comes in!
A medical clinic is more than just another health care facility--it's an environment that offers personalised care and support from trained staff who understand how important it is for patients to feel comfortable going there without anxiety or fear about what might happen during their visit.
Comprehensive Assessments
Medical clinics are places where you can get expert advice on your health. They provide a wide range of services, including diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The clinic will take the time to understand your symptoms, explain what they mean, and recommend appropriate treatments accordingly.
If you don't feel well enough to make an appointment yourself or have a doctor's appointment scheduled within 3 days' time then we might be able to help!
In addition to being able to see doctors at any time, they also offer telemedicine services so that even if there's no one available at their place physically due unknown reasons such as sickness or vacation...you can still get access without leaving home!
Personalised Treatment Plans
Personalised treatment plans are a crucial component of medical clinic Near Werribee. If you're looking to get healthier and feel better, then it's important that your doctor has a personalised approach to your health needs not just a one-size-fits-all solution.
Personalised treatment plans can be tailored to the patient's budget and lifestyle, but they also need to be based on an assessment of their overall health state. This means that if someone has arthritis in their knee or back pain in their neck, they may benefit from different things than someone else who is experiencing migraines because their condition requires different kinds of treatments.
Patient-Centred Approach
Patient-centred care is a way of treating patients that emphasizes the importance of building relationships with them. It's based on the belief that the health care system should be designed to meet the needs of individual patients, not just get them through their visit as fast as possible.
In patient-centred medicine, physicians listen carefully to their patients' concerns and use those conversations to learn about their lives. They also offer insight into how best to help them manage their health issues so they can achieve better health outcomes overall and stay healthy longer than they would otherwise be able to do so.
Continuity of Care
At a medical clinic, you get to see your doctor and other health care providers in person. This means that they can more easily understand how your body works and what it needs. They can also provide recommendations for treatment when appropriate.
Medical clinics are also places where you can go for help with your overall wellness, including nutrition and exercise programs. You might want to focus on one area at first like weight loss or chronic pain management but once you feel better about yourself, try another area of interest!
Conclusion
We know that you have many questions when it comes to your health care. Thats why medical clinic Near Werribee offers comprehensive assessments and personalised treatment plans, so you can get the information you need to make decisions about your health.

Many medical clinics also offer free healthcare services as part of their mission statement; however, some may require payment from patients depending on how much money they receive through grants or donations from local organisations like churches or community members who want to help out those in need by donating money towards their cause.

Types of medical centres

Urgent care centres are similar to primary care facilities but they're open 24/7 or close to it so they can treat patients who need immediate attention but don't require hospitalization. Emergency rooms and walk-in clinics operate similarly as urgent care facilities but they're generally open longer hours than other types of medical clinics because they accept walk-in patients instead of requiring appointments or appointments made days in advance like some urgent cares do
