I need everyone upset about Liam's promotion to understand that it had nothing to do with him being better/worse than Yuki. Yuki outperformed him. Yuki deserved the chance. BUT Yuki is not a Redbull driver. He is a Honda driver. He has no loyalty to Redbull and that is why he did not get a chance next to Max. It's not that he didn't deserve it. It's pure business.

Redbull are ending their relationship with Honda. They are creating their own engines. It's likely seen as a big liability to Redbull to have Yuki actively involved in any tests or even near anything involving the 2026 engine.

This is not an attack on Yuki or his character or anything like that, so please do not take it that way. But, Yuki's loyalty to a different engine manufacturer is a major risk to any new manufacturer like the Ford/Redbull powertrain. You just never know. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve a good drive, but Yuki's loyalty will forever be to Honda (as it should) and that poses a lot of risks for Redbull.

Once again, I am not commenting on Yuki's character or making assumptions about him when I say this, but there are a lot of big concerns if he gets promoted. He could ditch them for Aston immediately because Honda asks, he could share information about the new engine to Honda, or he could give questionable feedback that negatively impacts the new powertrain. Maybe he wouldn't do these things. But if there's even the most miniscule potential that he could, it would make any team hesitant. F1 is rampant with cheating allegations and questionable tactics to win. The teams will want to protect themselves in any eventuality. And that is what's working against Yuki so greatly.

Yuki has proven to be a very competent driver over the past year, but let's not forget that he nearly lost his seat in 2023 and the rumored reason he stayed is due to Honda. He owes his career to Honda, not Redbull. And at the end of the day, that's his main flaw within this team. It's not his driving. It's not his temper. It's not anything else. It's purely who he is aligned to poltically in the racing world. Is that fair? No. Is that how racing works? Unfortunately, yes.

#i totally understand ths frustration with this #but everyone trying to make it about his race or his temper or whatever I just don't think is true #his temper was an issue last year but he's matured a lot (at least publically) compared to the beginning of the year #i commend his efforts there #i think it'll go a long way to securing him more drives in the future #any other team will not be as vulnerable as redbull when it comes to powertrain connections until Cadillac comes in #every other team is established so there won't be issues there #i genuinely think the honda connection is really the only true thing that goes against him here #even marko admitted to shareholders being involved in this situation with regard to Checo and filling the seat #Ford was probably greatly upset at the prospect of another engine manufacturer's driver giving feedback on their engine #this has turned into a bit of an unintelligible ramble #but my point is that yuki is a good driver who deserves a good drive #and he will get one #but he does not fit in the grand scheme of things for redbull #liam is more or less dispensable to redbull #he wasn't in the running for an F1 seat until he had to be a super sub and didn't suck #the hype got him into F1 #and redbull are going to use thag while developing others like Hadjar and Lindblad #f1 #formula 1 #formula one #rbr #yuki tsunoda #red bull racing

benedick challenging claudio to a duel, 2011 version vs the 2001 radio play version

#much ado about nothing #david tennant #much ado #ws #i love both of these because benedick is being played with two different moods (maturity vs anger) but both of them work so well #in the 2011 version they really lean into benedick being ostracized by don pedro and claudio. he is no longer 'one of the guys'#he's angry but also cool and rational and dead serious in extremely stark contrast to claudio who thinks he's telling some joke #and it's a sharp left turn from the silly goofy cringeloserclown of a man he was at the beginning of the play #in the 2001 version he's more brimming with fury and it sounds like he's on the verge of strangling claudio right there #like this interpretation of him overall is much more the battle hardened cynical soldier that is ready to throw down and we see that here #and the image it conveys of him walking up to claudio and snarling the challenge in his ear is sooooo. God i am not your strongest soldier

i can’t articulate this properly but i love looking at jekyll and hyde through the lens of death vs life/youth vs maturity. it’s so interesting and i feel like i could write a whole essay on it but i don’t know where to start

#i haven’t thought deeply enough about it yet #but there’s quite a few stray thoughts i have #the strange case of dr jekyll and mr hyde #henry jekyll #edward hyde #mr. hyde #dr. jekyll and mr. hyde #dr. jekyll #jekyll and hyde #youth vs maturity is an obvious one but life/death #is super interesting to me (also inherently related to youth/maturity) and i need to find the words for it #btw i just read jekyll and hyde at the beginning of this month #this is all so new to me but i’m severely brainrotted about it #also also also jekyll losing his only two friends throughout the story is so relevant to the themes of maturity vs youth it’s so it’s so #i need to look for more discussion abt utterson/jekyll/lanyon’s friendship dwindling and how it coincides #SO heavily with that whole idea #i genuinely think that part of the story is so interesting and how utterson is actively fighting to keep the friendship alive and failing #and aghhhh #jekyll and hyde is really just a tragedy about a bunch of friends falling out (joke)#but srsly i love it. so much. it’s so sad

One of the many tragic aspects of Mikuni's character is that if he were to prevent the affair from happening, misono wouldn't be born.

With that being said, the reason why he would want to be misonos' father becomes simple. It's because that's the only way to prevent the affair from happening, and still make sure his little brother is born.

I mean, someone's gotta do it. (Im sorry lmao)

Im thinking he goes back in time, offers Hokaze to marry him to solve the money digging issue, meaning she wouldn't have to go after his father. Preventing the affair, preventing his mothers death & countless others, while also making sure misono still gets born eventually, except it's as his.. and Hokaze's son.

And this might be the first time you'll find me not rooting for him.

The emotional rollercoaster...

Tan wasn't expecting it... How his face dropped. It was like he got a hammer blow.

He was really trying hard here, but the strained smile can't really lie about how he was feeling.

He wasn't the cheerful Tan we're so used to see, but Fang cleared any misunderstandings fast. I really learned how to appreciate their relationship and how easily they understand each others.

Their relationship is strong and Fang knows how to reassure Tan about his feelings.

They really are meant to be together.

#ramblings of a lunatic #dc comics #damian wayne #dick grayson #ITS JUST NOT THE SAME MAN #idk i was reading nightwing must die (again...) bc i was in a funk and saw another post saying how fans exaggerate the closeness btwn them #and on the one hand i get it. there is a very rosy portrayal of their relationship you'll come across in fanon #and they weren't very close at the beginning of their relationship #but man. reading Nightwing must die again was like #YES they fight. damian instigates it and while dick tries to exercise patience he does fight back/lash out on occasion #but despite all that it's still emphasized how important the two are to each other #when dick is forced to picture a future where he's lost his way he pictures damian being the one to bring him back #not necessarily bc damian is his favorite person on the planet but bc he gave damian robin. for a lot of practical reasons-#-but also bc how far damians come is (i think at least based on this arc) a testament to dick that hes doing Something right #both as a hero/person #damian is more than just a burden saddled on him (although there's an element of that in their batman and robin run)#he's also a last remaining connection to bruce when he's gone (remembering where he comes from) AND he's training damian+#-his own way! with a dash of tough love and workaholic spirit inherited but also a lot of patience and focus on being More than the darkness #idc what ppl say nightwing must die makes sense for these two. its a retcon but one that works imo #that dick buried his head in the sand about how much damian meant/the responsibility he had to him bc it was a commitment he was afraid of #and how damian ultimately was a point of maturation for dick even if he went back to being Nightwing #they were SO goddamn close and now they're still close but only in ways that are implied #and their bond is deemphasized in comparison to each others bond w/ say bruce. which i think is a shame #it was a wrinkle! a fun wrinkle that the batfamily had that in some ways dick understood damian better than Bruce-#-even if he didn't feel like he could handle the responsibility of raising him full time #it kills me that bc of the n52 we never got the handover of the batman mantle (and damian) from dick to bruce #next nightwing writer...include a flashback to that moment AND have damian appear in the book in present....AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!!#anyway. dick is damians brother but also damian a little bit imprinted on him like a baby duck and its rubbed off on dick #they're partners they're mentor mentee but most importantly they were batman and robin. and they were the greatest #NOT bc it was all peaches and roses but bc they cared for each other exponentially despite all that
