How Good is Makhanlal Chaturvedi University of Journalism? Is There Any Study Centre of This University in Delhi?

Choosing the right university for a mass communication degree is a crucial step toward building a successful career in journalism, advertising, or media-related fields. Among the top institutions in India, Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU) is a well-known name in media education. But how good is this university, and does it have any study centres in Delhi? Let’s explore these aspects and also introduce an excellent alternative for students looking to build a strong career in mass communication.
Makhanlal Chaturvedi University of Journalism: An Overview
Established in 1991 and based in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, MCU is India’s first university dedicated exclusively to journalism and mass communication. It offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programs focused on media studies, electronic journalism, public relations, and digital communication.
Key Features of MCU
Academic Curriculum: MCU provides specialized programs that focus on media ethics, journalism, advertising, corporate communication, and new-age digital media trends.
Affordable Fee Structure: As a government-run institution, the university offers courses at an affordable cost, making it accessible to students from diverse backgrounds.
Industry Recognition: MCU graduates have found placements in various media houses, advertising agencies, and digital platforms.
Campus Infrastructure: The university boasts well-equipped media labs, a dedicated journalism research centre, and facilities for practical learning.
Does MCU Have a Study Centre in Delhi?
MCU operates through affiliated institutions and study centres across different states. However, as of now, there is no official study centre of MCU in Delhi. Students from Delhi who wish to study under MCU need to either apply for its main campus in Bhopal or find institutions affiliated with it in nearby regions.
Looking for a Mass Communication Institute in Delhi? Choose IAAN School of Mass Communication
For students in Delhi seeking a high-quality mass communication education with excellent placement opportunities, IAAN School of Mass Communication is the best choice. Located in New Friends Colony, New Delhi, IAAN offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mass Communication (BAMC & MAMC), along with Diploma programs (UGD & PGD) in Mass Communication, Advertising, and Journalism.
Why Choose IAAN Over MCU?
While MCU is a reputed institution, IAAN offers several advantages, especially for students looking for practical exposure and industry connections in Delhi:
1. Industry-Oriented Curriculum
IAAN provides an updated and practical-driven curriculum that aligns with modern media trends, covering areas such as:
Broadcast Journalism (TV & Radio)
Digital Media & Content Creation
Advertising & Public Relations
Media Laws & Ethics
Film & Documentary Production
2. Hands-On Practical Training
Unlike many theoretical programs, IAAN ensures students get real-world experience through:
Live reporting assignments
In-house news production and editing sessions
Hands-on training in camera handling, sound recording, and post-production
3. Strong Placement & Internship Network
One of the major concerns for mass communication students is job opportunities post-graduation. IAAN offers top-tier placement assistance, with students securing positions in:
Leading news channels such as NDTV, Zee News, India Today, Aaj Tak
Renowned advertising agencies like Ogilvy & Mather, Dentsu, JWT
Digital marketing firms and media houses
Corporate PR and communications roles in top companies
4. Prime Location in Delhi – The Media Hub of India
Delhi is home to the biggest media organizations, PR firms, and advertising agencies. Studying at IAAN gives students direct access to industry workshops, internships, and networking opportunities, which is a significant advantage over studying at MCU’s Bhopal campus.
5. Expert Faculty with Industry Experience
IAAN’s faculty comprises seasoned journalists, media professionals, and advertising experts who mentor students with real-world insights and guidance.
6. State-of-the-Art Media Infrastructure
IAAN boasts modern studios, editing labs, and a digital newsroom, ensuring students learn with the latest equipment and technology.
Final Verdict: MCU vs. IAAN – Which One to Choose?
While MCU is a good institution for mass communication, its lack of a study centre in Delhi makes it challenging for students who prefer studying in the capital city. For students who want industry exposure, hands-on training, and excellent placement opportunities, IAAN School of Mass Communication is the ideal choice.
Conclusion
If you are passionate about media, journalism, advertising, or digital communication and want to study in Delhi, IAAN School of Mass Communication is the best option. With a practical-oriented curriculum, strong placement support, and industry partnerships, IAAN helps students build a successful career in mass communication.

i know a lot of people tend to define dani/ellie's "obsession" as the ocean to go with danny's space obsession but tbh i feel like as dani gets older she's going to do a lot to separate herself from her identity as danny's "clone" and become her own person
like, that's why i love that the fandom has adopted the "ellie" nickname so much for her. i so wish the show went on for longer with more competent writers or the comic could expand on this maybe but i think finding her own identity and voice would be such a powerful narrative. you're made for one thing but you don't wanna do that, so now what do you do?
(tbh that kind of identity exploration is probably too anit-christian for b*tch h*rtman so i'm glad he didn't get to touch it)
it's canon that dani goes off and travels the world, so why not have her obsession be traveling? she's got a huge case of wanderlust. she likes the outdoors, she likes hiking and camping and is a huge granola girl. like, i think that kinda just fits her a bit more, in my opinion. traveling/exploration.
#danny phantom#dani phantom#ellie phantom#ominous posts#i have a lot more ideas for an aged up everlasting trio too#like college ages#i think sam would dual major in polisci and environmental studies. activist queen#tucker would definitely be computer science but i can also see him being a theater or history kid#danny? i love the idea of him being the black sheep/artist of his family of scientists#but i think he would go for some sort of aerospace engineering obviously.#if he can't be an astronaut because of health reasons/the accident then at least he can help people get up there#though danny becoming NASA's social media manager would also be hilarious. Communications Major Danny?#that's my mass comm degree bias coming through haha#valerie ends up a part of their group at some point and she majors in physical health/exercise#college au? i guess??#cool egde au

I need some advisement. I have classes starting in a couple of weeks and one of my classes requires a book that’s $200 for the physical book, no rental option. Otherwise I can get the ebook cheaper, buuut I can’t really read textbooks well digitally. I need the actual paper in front of me. I don’t have a tablet and reading on my phone or laptop just doesn’t work for me.
I searched online and everywhere is about the same for the physical book. Does anyone know of options for students that can’t do digital books? Or does anyone have the book I need?
It’s called Exploring Mass Communications by Vincent F. Filak.

I haven’t been in school for a while so I don’t know what the cheats are for books. If anyone can give me ideas, I’d appreciate it.
Thank you!

American academics - how are you coping?
I have finally been accepted into a BA program at nearly 33 years old after a long and difficult journey. I am due to begin in January for a degree in comms (haven’t selected which branch yet, but was heavily leaning towards journalism and poli sci).
But now it’s become abundantly clear that facts and education have no value here. To be educated is to have the woke mind virus. Further, my degree was meant to position me to work with media and activism and let’s be honest, journalism is about to be officially dead and we’re likely about to experience heavy cesnsorship in media.
I don’t want to go, I don’t want to sit in a classroom knowing my education is seen as a negative trait by this administration and their followers. I don’t want to walk past extremist religious protesters who think I’m property in order to get to my class. For what? The more I learn the more I’m aware of how fucked everything is while those who don’t care to learn new things tell me I’m overreacting because of the woke mind virus.

I know I’m part of a pretty young fandom, so just in case any of you didn’t know:
hello! I am a college and career counselor! This is my job! I go to a high school every day to help kids with ANY and all of these pathways, because any pathway that works for you is the right one for you! Here are some things I find myself repeating to my students.
If you want to go to college but you think you can’t go to college: you can! The American education system is very insular; if you are an immigrant, have immigrant parents, or just are first gen, it’s incredibly hard to know where to start. Ask your counselors for help, and check out these resources here to get started:
Your SATs/ACTs don’t have to matter! Most schools don’t require them anymore. Here is a list of colleges that do. I promise you if you don’t send them in, colleges don’t give a shit.
Community college is free if you live in these states.
State vs Private Schools? Applying to private and state schools is beneficial, because while state schools are cheaper, private schools have more money to offer you in scholarships. See who offers you the best deal.
Where do I apply for scholarships?? These are the legitimate scholarship websites we recommend to students: bold.org, niche.com, fastweb.com, goingmerry.com
Do you want to go to community college to transfer to a four year college? The UCs, Massachusetts, and New York all offer guaranteed transfer to state schools. Look for similar options at your local community college, and see if they have direct programs.
Community college is an incredibly useful tool, but did you know what else they offer? Tech and trade programs!! (Use this Mass community college to see the kinds of programs offered). Ultrasound tech, radiological tech, automotive trades, dental assistant programs, etc; these are all specialized skills you can learn that make you an invaluable worker. There are many more jobs out there than you know of, and some require a different type of school. For example, you can work in the healthcare field without being a doctor or a nurse.
State governments often offer paid apprenticeship programs for trade work! Check your local government website for things like electricians and HVAC tech, which are pretty well paid jobs in high demand.
Being undecided on your major is totally fine. College is for finding yourself! This percentage of students change majors, or transfer colleges.
Once you have been at your school for a year, you’ll have forgotten about your acceptances and rejections to any other schools, I promise. Once you are there, it doesn’t matter anymore, because there is a school that fits for everyone.
Financial aid websites are incredibly daunting. Remember, to fill out the CSS profile (only for select private schools, find that list here) or the FAFSA (required for every school) you will need you and your parents/guardians W2s, 1040s, social security numbers (your parents don’t need a social security number to fill out the FAFSA!), and any other financial documents you may have. Specific lists here and here.
I am undocumented. What are my college options? Ask colleges their financial aid options for undocumented students! Don’t be nervous to be open with a school (and your counseling team) about your documentation status, they legally cannot disclose that information! Of course, this is a very personal thing, so do what makes you comfortable, but schools cannot give you options if they don’t know your situation. There are MANY different kinds of documentation, so make sure you know the specifics of yours, and any pathways to citizenship open to you. Here are some schools that cover 100% of need for undocumented students. (I would add Holy Cross to that list, they give several scholarships that cover 100% tuition a year for undocumented students. Check your local private colleges to see if they offer any programs like that). Here are states with free community college programs that apply for undocumented state residents: California, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maine (DACA only), Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Washington. Also, check out thedream.us for information on your options in your state, and scholarship options specific to undocumented and DACA students.

every year we have to say it
#I’m happy to answer any quick questions people have#but I am a mass/new englander so that is where the majority of my expertise lies#also this is clearly usamerican coded#i just learned today that ireland doesn't have free college so#we're all in this together i guess#but anyways have this i guess#high school#college#university#school#trade school#community college#melissa replies#melissa bullshit
