My most niche crack headcanon is that Kida from Death Note and Kida from Fear&Hunger are actually the same guy, except I can't decide what's funnier: Light looked at Kida Deathnote once and wrote something like "is run over by a car and immediately isekai'd in the most fucked up universe known to man because fuck that guy in particular" OR Kida Fearandhunger got brutally murdered by Needles after witnessing The Horrors and got isekai'd to normal ass 2000s Japan as a treat

It was actually a coincidence that ended up happening when I was trying to give them all various different expressions but I approve of this interpretation too XD

You know, since reading that Hatori has an ‘interest in ceramics’ I kind of want to draw him doing the ‘Ghost’ pot-making pose with one of the other Yotsubas, but who?

☆ Who controls the netflix account and what have they dominated the suggestions with by watching: Interestingly enough, it’s Kida. He watches the basic shows: Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black, and — duh — every magical girl show he can get his hands on. Like, dude, stop watching Netflix and do your job for once.

☆ Who snores: Takahashi. He doesn’t know how to keep his fricking mouth shut, so he is literally incapable of not snoring. How this guy ever got married is beyond me. Maybe his wife is deaf. Or she snores louder than he does. Who knows?

☆ Who has an embarrassing ringtone that the other calls them in public just to get to go off: It’s more like an unexpected ringtone, but it’s Ooi, who has this lovely song as his ringtone. {Just listen to it until 0:15 or 1:30; I swear you won’t regret it.} Obviously, Higuchi’s the one who keeps calling him, especially during business meetings.

☆ Who sleeps on the top bunk if given the chance: In general, it’s Mido. He wants to be as far away from everyone else as possible. As opposed to Shimura, who’s always been afraid of heights, but is now even more scared of them after witnessing what happened to Matsuda. 

☆ Who plays the piano at 6 in the morning to wake up the other: If it’s not hella obvious, Namikawa. He had installed a piano at all of their houses just for that purpose. Because waking seven grown-ass men up by playing “O Fortuna” on the piano is easier than using an alarm clock.

☆ Who has accidentally set something on fire by attempting to cook a birthday meal: Hatori. For the most part, he’s a pretty passable cook, if a bit… forgetful. Let’s just say he’s better off in kitchens where cooking spray and countertop cleaner are as far away from each other — and as clearly labeled — as possible.

kida has probably the least characterization of all the yotsubas, but personally i imagine that he’s just. kind of an unpleasant individual. not outright rude but super judgmental, very cold, always doing extra work no one asked him to do and then acting like everyone owes him for it, smiles at inappropriate times. i love him

Do you have any headcanons about Yotsuba men realizing their orientation? Like age, background, circumstances, etc.

oh yes i do! some more in-depth than others, though

namikawa pretty much always just knew. i headcanon him as trans and i think he insisted that he was Actually A Boy since a very young age. after his parents told him he wasn't, the idea went dormant until middle school, when he happened to hear something about hrt somewhere and made the connection. the realization that he was gay was kind of contingent on that and didn't require much additional thought.

ooi knew he was bisexual pretty early on but not immediately like namikawa. i'd imagine he figured this out somewhere around high school but i could also see it being slightly earlier or later? i haven't thought about this one as much tbh. ooi is self-assured almost to a fault so i don't think it involved much agonizing.

shimura figured out he was gay in high school, too. his gay awakening was his rugby coach, who he had an entirely one-sided crush on (it died out over time). his first actual gay experience was with a guy on the team, who he dated in secret until shortly after graduation. they went to different colleges and it just didn't make sense.

yet again, kida realized he was gay in high school, although i think he'd had inklings for years before then. i haven't really decided on the circumstances.

hatori knew he was bisexual for pretty much forever but came to terms with it around high school. he messed around with a few guys but never very seriously.

higuchi and takahashi, uh, don't realize they're bi. takahashi just hasn't ever considered it, meanwhile higuchi actively resists the idea.

i think kida really hates the united states and whenever namikawa starts talking about harvard it pisses him off so bad

kida finally manages to get ooi to bone him and he’s so overwhelmed with joy that he has to tell everyone. his day is ruined when shimura mido and namikawa all have the exact same muted reaction and he realizes that he’s actually kind of late to the party
